BRENTS TREE SERVICE

The estimator has a better eye than the workers. Must be very specific about which limbs need to be removed. I had to get a new estimate after I realized how out-of-balance the tree would look with one limb removed. They missed a few details, but called and corrected these before taking payment.

The quoted price was quite a bit. They said that the job would be three days of work for four guys. They called me for follow-up and I told them that I had another company who had quoted the same job for a quarter of the cost. He was pretty rude and said they were withdrawing the quote.

This service was several years ago, but I have learned a lot since a had this, my first tree service. Will Brents was very punctual and professional. He met with me to consult and eventually I went with him. They arrived and did a pretty good job. I paid $3500 for the service. About a year and a half ago, I used Good Mourning. They did the same service for $1000, a $2500 savings. They also had almost a hundred references. They did take almost a month and a half to actually start work because they were busy, but they did the same quality work for a LOT less.

Don't use these people if you need any sort of complicated pruning done and if you are not going to be there to direct operations. I have had a professional arborist work on my large pecan trees and he did an excellent job - this job was just too big for him and I knew I needed a crew. Brent's was highly recommended on this list so I called, an estimator came out next day, the price seemed reasonable, and the work was done the following day. Unfortunately, when I got home I was aghast. The pecan had been severely pruned, including one large (9" diameter) branch back to the trunk right next to the branch Davey had taken - overall, it looked naked. The entire right side of the driveway had been cleared all the way down to the house. A good deal of the walnut tree was cut back that encroached a deck but not the chimney. Nearly half of the elm was gone. It all looked like what was probably proper trimming if one wanted any and all branches 7' or 8' away from the house but obviously my very detailed instructions had not been relayed to the crew. I emphasized over and over again to the estimator that I wanted a very limited trimming, that I needed these trees for shade (no central a/c), that the deck should not be considered part of the house, and I wanted no major branches cut back to the trunk. There was definitely a lack of communication. When I called the owner, I was offered all of a $50 reduction.

This is the 2nd time we've used Brent's. Our first was 3-4? years ago, they were recommended by a neighbor. We were thrilled last time, so I called again. They were here the next business day with the estimate, and the following day with the tree crew. They were in and out in 2 hours - and did another beautiful job. Love this company.

They were great. The workers were polite, and finished the job quickly.

In the end, it looked beautiful. The workers used proper safety equipment and techniques. They did terrific cleanup.

Brent's Tree Service removed a tree that I did not ask them to remove. I was frustrated because I could not communicate with them because I do not speak Spanish. I would not recommend them to someone else and would not use them again in the future.

Very timely and professional. Did a great job cleaning up after the job. Needed some extra done while they were there. Completed it and the charge was very reasonable. It was a big job!

We received an estimate based on our needs. Two days later they came and did the work. It took over a day and a half. They threw in small trim work as well that came up after the work had started. We paid after the work was done.

I thought the quality of the job was good. They left the work site very clean. They were easy to work with. The owner called me directly and they called a few times afterwords to follow up. They were very courteous and professional.

They were prompt and arrived on time to go over the work I desired and submit an estimate. The estimate they gave was $500 lower than other estimates and they were willing to start work within a few days. The crew showed up on time, they were very neat. We asked for them to leave some of the limbs behind for fire wood. They cut them up and piled them neatly in the yard. The trees look beautiful.

Almost perfectly. Only one small problem. I just installed new gutters (I had not anticipated this tree removal or I would have reversed the order of these jobs.) The very first limb they dropped did not have the rope attached, which slows the descent. As a result, the gutter was pushed in toward the fascia board. I will have to wait for a rain to see if drainage has been compromised. After that limb, they used the rope line and all other removal was uneventful. If the gutter had not just installed, I would not be so annoyed!

We got three bids for this job and the first bid from Brent's was extremely low. At my request the salesman returned and said that we did not ask for the magnitude of work we wanted and raised the bid to a higher level, but still lower than others. I asked that the job be scheduled for the following Monday, but the company did not show up. After calling the company and learning we were not on the schedule that day, I ask that they call me to confirm a different day to arrive. (I had stayed home from work for a while to ensure that the company knew what I wanted done.) Will Brent, the owner called and rescheduled for Thursday, a day I planned to be home. However, the trimmers showed up on Wednesday and trimmed the trees. When I returned home from work, the trees had been trimmed, the yard cleaned up beautifully and the trimmers were gone. They did miss one dead branch of a tree that was just over the property line, but my neighbor had given permission to cut this branch. I called and asked that it be trimmed, and within a couple of hours a man showed up to trim that tree and he removed all of the dead wood. All in all, the trees were trimmed as we requested and the job was well done for a reasonable price.

They were beyond my expectations. I had a little trouble getting them on the phone to request an estimate, but once I did, they had someone out within half an hour to give the estimate. Jason was knowledgeable and helpful and explained their process in detail. The next morning the crew showed up as promised and went right to work. They were professional, polite, worked hard, and did a great job. I had to leave before they were finished, and when I returned everything was done, cleaned up, and hauled away, including a small pile of brush I had created the weekend before. They're undoubtedly not the cheapest around, but if you really care about your trees, Brent is the man.

Overall I was very happy with the service. Everyone I dealt with was very nice and professional from the person who did the estimate, to the person in the office who did the scheduling and billing, to the crew who came out to my house. The lot looks great and they did even more clean up than I realized they were going to. I knew it needed to be cleaned up, but only after it was done did I realize what a big job it was. There were five people out for a full day and they all worked very hard. The person who came out for the estimate listened to what I wanted but then also made some good suggestions that I hadn't thought of. I had one problem on the scheduling side where they didn't come at the time I was expecting - when I called they said the crew had been delayed and worked with me to reschedule to a convenient time. They also called to make sure everything was OK with the work, and once that was confirmed, they processed the payment.

They showed up on the scheduled day and worked even into the beginning of a rain storm. They stopped short due to the rain storm but returned an hour later after the rain stopped to complete the work. The Elm tree looks so much better and they cleaned all cuttings away including hauling off a stack of firewood that I could not use. The estimate was exactly what they charged me for the final job. The price was twice a previous estimate I received but the cheaper company kept delaying (for almost 2 months) and obviously never showed. Overall I was very pleased with their professionalism and work.

We found them on the list and a friend of ours had used them as well. We were very, very happy with their work. They did an outstanding job of cleaning up all of the debris and we couldn't even tell that they had been out to do that type of work. We received three quotes and they were the most reasonable.

The bid was received the same day as the rep visited. Work was somewhat delayed because of unusual wet weather, but once the crew arrived they were down to business for three days. When I first received the bid, I was somewhat surprised because it seemed high. It turned out that I completely underestimated the scope of work that would be performed. After seeing the transformation of the yard, witnessing the amount of work done and seeing the huge quantity of material that was removed, it was definitely a fair price. Yard clean up once tree trimming was complete was performed well and the crew left the place in excellent shape. Probably the only negative would be that somewhere around 50 percent of the places where branches were cut had pruning seal applied. Given that there were hundreds of branches cut it may be that it s unrealistic to think the crew could get them all.

We are very happy with them and have no problem in recommending them to friends and family. Matter of fact I already have. They came around 9, were well organized, and you could tell they had been doing it for awhile. They started with the trees in the front of the house then proceed to both sides and back. When they were done there they started the shrubs. Once the fun was done they headed to the back of the pool area to clear away that mess. They cleaned (mulched as they went) and left nothing behind. Before they left they had us inspect their work and make sure we were satisfied.

I obtained a quote the next day after inquiring with the company on-line. The crew came out when they said they would, and began work right away, after verifying the trimming needs. The clean-up was immaculate; you wouldn't even know I had just had the trees trimmed. It all looks beautiful.

The sales rep was very polite and helpful. The workmen arrived at the time they were scheduled. However, the first thing they did was sit on our front lawn and eat lunch. I wasn't there at the time, my wife was in the house and noticed this. They probably thought there was no-one there. Then, they went into our back yard and sat on our patio and porch swing. There was no reason for them to be back there, all the work was in the front yard. My wife called me and I came home. By the time I was home, they were all in the front yard working. They did a pretty good job on the tree, but missed application of pruning sealant on some branches.
