crew arrived on time and worked all day to finish the job, friendly and courteous crew

I was not pleased with this company. I think they are a rip off. They should not be on Angie's List.

First, their arborist came and thoroughly discussed all the trees in my yard and their needs. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Then, a couple days later, the crew arrived to trim a bunch of trees, one a 100+ year old oak, and remove a couple of dying trees. Tons of work and they did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves as well. I do have to say that the guy on the phone when I called in to pay for the service was a bit gruff, but oh well. What a huge difference it makes to trim and keep your trees healthy. I will use them again!

Crew showed up late, took a 1hr 57minute lunch, then sawed limbs off the wrong tree (my neighbor's tree) that overhung in a different section of the yard. It was clearly not in the contract or the drawing the sales guy made of trees included. We contracted to trim some limbs away from the roof and fence by the house in the backyard but instead the crew went up into the canopies of the oak and elm and thinned them out which they didn't need. When I called the company to let them know what was going on I couldn't reach a human and though I left a message with the sales guy and customer support they never called me back. I had to keep calling their other numbers to eventually find someone to transfer me to someone who could help. The crew pretended to not speak english when I ran outside to stop them from further cutting down the limbs of my neighbor's tree. Later in the day when a manager showed up to talk to the crew, then behold they speak english. At the end of the day, they hadn't even trimmed the contracted tree limbs away from the fence and roofline and had to go back after they had packed up. The crew did do a very good job trimming the front trees after I stayed with them and they asked before cutting each limb. When it came time to pay, the guy on the phone was very abrasive, unprofessional and pressed me hard putting words in my mouth and trying to get me to just crumble and pay in full despite their poor service and cutting the wrong tree. In the end, he did offer me a discount on the price.

The crew showed up when they said they would. I was totally impressed by the job they did. The supervisor was courteous and answered all my questions. After they cleaned up all the tree debris, my yard looked better than it ever had. Outstanding work.

Upon arrival to my house, Service provider expected that I would spend thousands of dollars on tree services with a $99 discount. I was interested to know what I could get for the special price offer of $99. We compromised and they agreed to trim 3 trees at the special price. The work done was good quality and they cleaned up and hauled away the trimmings. .

Their estimate for the work was excessive. I called them back to set up appointment to do just the $75 worth of work, they never responded. I just decided to eat the $75 and won't use or recommend them to anyone.

Overall - great. They even came back a 2nd time to make some adjustments for us. The man who came to give the estimate gave me their insurance documents immediately to show they were bonded and insured. Also handed me a list of references.

They showed up on time and did a good job off cutting branches around the house, but they left some thick vine clippings hanging down over the outside air conditioner unit which fell into the fan a few days later causing a loud noise that went on and on until I figured out what it was and shut the unit off and pulled the clippings down. Was not too happy about that. They should have done that instead of just cutting them and leaving them hanging. Also they cut a tree branch that was dead so that it was not near the roof, but should have cut the branch completely off closer to the trunk instead of leaving it there to fall off later. Next time, I will most likely just do it myself and save the $200. For that kind of cash, I excected not to have to follow up and do part of the work myself.

The Angie's List Big Deal was for $225 of tree service. Before buying it, I called to tell Brent's what I wanted and was told I would have to have their salesman come to the house to talk with me about what they would do. That should have clued me in that I wouldn't be able to get what I wanted from them! But I went ahead and bought the coupon. The salesman, Daryl, came to the house. I told him that I had bought $225 of service, and I had 2 priorities - a few branches we couldn't reach near the top of the chimney on a steep upper roof section, and another few branches way up beyond our ladder on another part of the house. I said we would like them to do those first and then any more they could do on the roof to add up to $225. BUT NO! It was their whole roof line package or nothing. It would be $425 at least! Then Daryl tried to sell me more pruning, alluding to mistletoe being a problem in a tree that didn't have any - he didn't say it had any, but I felt that he implied it in a way that might have tempted a less experienced client to buy more service. I let him give me an estimate for the whole yard. We just bought the roof line trimming. We ended up having them cut the branches from parts of the roof we have trimmed many times by ourselves, all around the roof. My husband believes their advertising $225 of service and then not being willing to do just that much is an example of the illegal "bait and switch." I was annoyed, but I decided to pay the extra and have Brent's trim the whole roof line, as the price was still pretty good and it would be nice to have the job finished rather than fighting to get my money back and having to spend a lot of time starting over with estimates. And, yes, though we would have done the low parts of the roof ourselves, I thought it would be nice to have it all done for us. I also asked that they place the tree trimmings in a specific place in the yard. Daryl seemed uncomfortable with that, so I told him I would check with my husband and let him know if we really wanted to do that. I did call back and had to call a couple of times to be sure I talked with Daryl to get this done. There was nothing specific that Darryl did or said, but his manner made me feel that he was impatient with me during much of my interaction with him. After reading other reviews, I decided I wanted to be home during the pruning to be sure they didn't take too much off the trees. Daryl did not give me a choice of days - he was inflexible and said it would be some time Tuesday but he couldn't be more specific. When the day arrived, I had a busy schedule. They called and told me I was first on the list for the day. I had to be late for an important meeting or not be home for the pruning. I chose my trees and stayed home and was glad I did. The men were very pleasant and hardworking. They trimmed all around the roof line as planned. They put a bunch of the trimmings in the yard where I asked them to, and they did that very neatly and carefully. They did a decent job. At one point, I looked at the tree in front of the house and said it looked good. I thought it was done. Later I saw that they had taken off a lot more on the roof side and that made the tree look imbalanced. I asked an arborist later whether that was safe for the tree, and he said it was OK. I had to tell them, "No mas!" on another tree. They did a good job there but they were ready to take too much from that one, too. I heard a branch they dropped bang the grill and didn't uncover the grill to look at it. Later we saw it was dented. Will use another company next time!

My biggest concern was that the tree was close to my house and a neighbors and they were very careful. I have a lot of growth and plants around and and you can not tell where they had stepped. They were very quick and efficient. John the gentleman that came out to the house that gave me an estimate was very professional, prompt, and on time.

The deal is a little misleading. It's not $75 for a $225 job. It's more like taking $75 off a larger job. I had the electric company come out and do it for free.

They had a crew of about 5 guys climbing the trees, hauling the cut branches, and cutting the lower ones from ground ladders. I would say that the crew was at our house for 6 hours. 6 hours and 5 guys working their tails off is a hard 30 hours of work. This is just a guess, since its been several months. In the end we were surprised at what a difference it made. The canopy was raised several feet and the yard looked refreshed. We were getting married in the backyard at the end of the month so we were very happy with the results. In fact, Brent's gave us a discount as a wedding "gift". It wasn't much, but everything helps.

Made an appointment but didn't realize it was a sales call only. (The crew that will actually do the work will be scheduled later, which was not disclosed on the Big Deal). The salesperson got his appointments all messed up that day and showed up almost 1.5 hours late. When we didn't want to spend over $1,500 on tree trimming, he was visibly irritated with us. Would not do business with this company again.

It took me multiple attempts to get a hold of them. When I finally got a hold of them, I asked what I could get covered under the deal. He said he could not give an estimate over the phone and he cannot give an estimate until the deal is over and I have purchased it. I feel like if I purchased the deal and it is an outrageous price, I would have to cover it. This deal is deceptive, and I do not believe it's fair.

They were supposed to call before they came. They did not call, but they did come about the time that Darrell said they would. They went straight to work. I spoke with them about a few areas in the trees that I had concerns about. They were more than willing to accomodate. They cleaned up their mess really well. At least one of the workers spoke English which I appreciated since I needed to explain how I wanted a tree trimmed around my pool. They performed the tasks exactly like the company said they would. I think it was a little pricy, but I wanted the job done right and I did not want my husband to get on top of the roof. That was worth more than 800.00I would hire them again!

Brents did a lot of work for the money - hauled away 4 large trailers of debris. It took longer than I expected, but that could have been due to the need to take numerous breaks on a very hot afternoon.

The work was done a few months ago, but it was a good experience overall.

The experience went very well overall. They showed up on time and finished the job on time. They cleaned up very well and did a good job!

They were fantastic to work with! They were extremely knowledgeable about what to do with the trees.

The service was great! They provided good service all-around, and completed an assessment initially. I had some questions about the work, which they followed-up with me on. They also did some other things that I asked them to do without any additional charge.

John MaCuk came out at the appointed time and gave me an estimate of around $1000 for trimming 2 1/2 trees. It would be more if he had to "drill" the roots of one tree closest to the house. He was professional and polite, but I thought the price was too high. I have talked to neighbors and friends and they agree. I had the work done by a recommended and reliable yard man who did the work for $200.

I saw worried branches would drop and destroy my tomatoe plants, but they were very careful not to damage the garden. I give them two green thumbs up :) They were very careful of my property and did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. The price was about the same as most other companies (just a little higher) but they seemed much more reputable than the most.

Very good job. Trees look 100% bettter. Did exactly what we had agreed upon.

The person doing the estimate was on time. My only problem with them may be with me. I didn't want a huge job, just cleaning up some overhanging branches. I knew that my tress needed a lot of service but didn't really want to pay for it right now. The estimator really didn't want to quote the job that I wanted done, he wanted to quote a much larger job. In the end I agreed that I needed a lot more work than I had planned for and went for it. The people arrived on time, there were probably 6 workers who climbed all through my trees and cleaned things up dramatically. They were there for several hours and did an excellent job. They cleaned up very well after the job, even sweeping off my roof and patio. I have no complaints with the job they did. The only thing to be aware of is that you probably need a lot more service than you think, and tree service is expensive if done right - and you don't want to cheap out on tree service. You are opening yourself up to oak wilt as well as potential liability concerns if you don't hire experts who are covered with their own insurance. So assuming you go into the process with the understanding that you will probably need more work than you think and it will cost a bunch, then I would recommend Brent's. Since I have not worked with other local tree service companies, I do not know if the price charged was in line with the area or not.
