BRENTS TREE SERVICE

They were excellent. They did what they said they would do. They left no debris. They were on time.

Came and gave quote. Was some miscommunication about when they were to return to perform service but all went fine.

it went ok, but they came out a day earlier than they were supposed to and had to return to clear out some under growth they were supposed to clear out and to paint some cuts that were missed.

Tree service provided as requested and met all my expectations.

First they came for the estimate and i asked what it would cost for extras After we decided the services we wanted then scheduled service date camne on date promised and performed services

1. The estimate included a three payment plan, which required me to provide a credit card number. 2. On date agreed, crew did not check in with me prior to beginning work, to say they were here. My first clue was hearing people in my backyard. 3. Trees were trimmed well. Majority of tree branches were hauled off but much remained, which I had to clean up. Gate was left ajar allowing dogs to escape. 4. I left state for approximately four months, and received a call from Brent's about the remaining balance. I explained I paid all of my bills electronically and would need an invoice (since I was out of town, someone was picking up my mail for me and letting me know bills that needed to be attended to). I did not know why they did not use the credit card number provided for payment. I tried to explain I was out of pocket (cell phone service was spotty so did not always receive calls or messages so needed them to mail invoice. 5. Upon returning home, I received a summons for small claims court (October 31, 2012) stating they were suing me for the balance even tho I had never received an invoice of the balance outstanding nor an explanation of what they did with my credit card information they obtained at the time of the estimate and saying I would not pick up calls when they called me (I was out of range!!!!!). 6. So because they did not send an invoice nor explain why they took my credit card information and still did not bill the credit card, they are suing me. Go figure!!!!

The first limb cut was one that I specifically DID NOT WANT CUT. It didn't overhang the garage but it did provide shade directly in front where I like to park. The crew seemed unsure of what they were supposed to do and not do and since I wasn't there to directly supervise, nothing went right. The didn't bring the chipper because "a bigger job needed it" and instead hauled off the limbs. Unfortunately, I WANTED the chipped wood for bedding between my raised beds and for compost. Brents apologized and promised to bring me a load of wood chips, which never arrived.

Company arrived on time, went quickly to work and finished an enormous job completely and professionally. The tree trimmers used ropes, safety harnesses, chain saws and pole trimmers with great acquired skill. Removed all the debris ( about 6 inch layer under trees), and raked the yard to remove every loose stem and leaf. Exceptional work.

It all went well. Bottom line is this - if you want a tree removed, you can call any insured tree company to do the work , but if you need quality trimming, canopy lifting and general maintenance, use these guys. Trees care is expensive as its a lot of work - don't cheap out unless your job is really basic and you don't care about the trees.

It went great. Here's what I didn't expect. I was supposed to move some things to facilitate the removal of the dead tree from the backyard. I had my dates mixed up and they came a day earlier than I expected. Imagine my happy surprise when I noticed the dead tree was gone without a trace and I didn't have to move a thing! The next time my expectations were exceeded happened when I came home after a weekend away to discover a very large limb had fallen from my neighbor's tree into my yard. Since I was now a regular customer, Brent's came out the next day and hauled it away, again without a trace!

They did the trimming while I was at work then called for a follow up and payment the following day. I was unable to see tree in the light since I work long hours and the owner told me to call him back after I could. He was very nice and wanted me to be satisfied, which I was.

.Everyone I worked with from the estimator to the worker was pleasant and the bush looks much better. I am able to keep it trimmed whereas before it was about 7 or 8 ft tall. I didn't have any complaints. They arrived on time and I used my coupon.

That came a day early but did a good job no pressure for other services and came in person to quote. Cleaned up before they left looks good. Then called the next day to check on the outcome and set up payment arrangements. I will hire them again. The guys even engaged my 1 year old watching from the window.

I can't remember the initial cost of the "deal" that I purchased from Angie's for the services from this company . . . $100 for $250 worth of services is what I seem to recall. All I needed done was to have the tree limbs cleared away from the roofline, and it was not a very extensive job, making me think that if I had to pay any additional, it would be minimal. I had had my trees completely trimmed by a reputable company a few years ago for around $500. And the roofline cleared last year for $80! When the representative from Brent's arrived to discuss the job and give me an estimate, I told him I didn't need very much work done; he said that my trees needed a total job (and they may, but that's not what I requested), and that Brent's could do that for . . . I can't remember exactly . . . several thousand dollars. Or a minimal job for $1600. I said again that I just wanted the roof line cleared and I thought that the Angie's coupon should take care of most or all of that. He responded by saying that the "coupon" just amounted to a discount, that his workers wouldn't even bring their equipment out (and that they were experts who took a great deal of care, making the trees look well manicured) for the amount that I had available on the coupon. I replied that I thought that should be clarified in the wording of the "deal," and he said that I was the only one who'd had a problem with it. He then gave me an estimate for the work that I requested. I think it was about $262 over and above the cost of the coupon. His total attitude and demeanor changed after he was unable to talk me into the additional work; he became huffy and rude. After that, the work was done, in a timely fashion. . . it was just adequate. I remain so angry and insulted over this meeting with Brent's Trees' representative (not sure about the date above, purely a guess) even now. I will never use them again . . . I would never recommend the company to anyone; as a matter of fact, I would warn people off of using them. Please . . . I didn't really want to write this review because I feel so negatively about Brent's Trees. It is very important to me that you keep the contents of the review CONFIDENTIAL!

Overall I have the same perception as a few of the other recent reviews. The service performed is not what I thought I was paying 1300 for. I was led to believe, through the salesman's pitch, that his services were much more than a "bunch of guys with ladders and chain saws hacking away" at my trees. He said his guys were professionals and used ropes and hand picked moss off the branches and didn't cut the tree to look like a head of broccoli but sculpted it appropriately and injected them with fertilizer etc. In the end it was about 4-5 guys hacking away at my trees with chain saws, albeit with ropes not ladders. There was loud music playing in our front yard all through dinner and family time on a Friday evening. They came so late that they had to come back on Saturday. They didn't inject any fertilizer and when the service manager called today for payment I asked about the fertilizer.....only to be told that isn't included and is extra. I escalated back to the salesman who became immediately defensive and telling me why I didn't listen we'll enough. In the end I told him I would pay the 1,300 without the injections but would not recommend his company or use him again. He seemed only concerned with getting the money. I told him his pitch was misleading to me and he should think about changing it.....he used lots of statistics and data and spoke so fast I couldn't have followed him even if I were more than just a layman homeowner. Won't use them again. The trees look nice but not 1200 nice and I don't trust the service pitch anymore.

It wasn't what was advertised, but I am pragmatic and realize that this was more than I could have done by myself and the price was good. They seemed to be conscientous about covering wounds made from cutting, with only a few exceptions. So, overall it was a fair job, even if it wasn't quite what they portrayed.

We didn't use their service beyond the estimate but Angie's List did a superb job in helping with the refund.

IT went well ! The work we asked for was done including cutting down 3 trees. They also did a good job of hauling away!!

Very professional. Work completed as expected. Would recommend and use their services again.

I needed 2 trees removed. They gave me a very fair estimate. I told them that I always get a second estimate. They offered to trim a live oak at no extra charge if I accepted their offer. I accepted, because I have had trees removed before, and I knew that their offer was very fair. The workers arrived promptly at the scheduled time, removed a burr oak and a Leland Cypress, and trimmed my live oak beautifully. They cleaned up all the debris. The next morning, their stump grinder service arrived as scheduled. Later the same day, somebody came to perform a final cleanup. All of their people were extremely professional and prompt. Everything was done exactly as promissed. I am very satisfied.

I called Brent's Tree Service on Monday and the responded that day by sending a salesperson who was very professional and considerate. We agreed on the price and amount of work and scheduled to do the work in one day. The working staff arrived at 1pm and proceeded to cut down the tree carefully not to cause any damage to my home. I did have to check on them several times, and insist they cut the trunk as low as possible so that no part of it could cause harm to passing individuals. The agreed to price included the trimming f two other nearby oak trees. The staff took slightly over 4 hours to complete.

They were awesome. They were very responsive in coming out to diagnose a tree problem, eventually removing 2 trees that were diseased. After we called, we had a diagnosis and estimate within 48 hours and the removal of two 25-30 foot trees occurred just as quickly after we approved the work. They were fast and very reasonable. They cleaned the work area so well that you wouldn't have known they were there if not for the trees being gone. We were very happy with Brent's Tree Service, would absolutely recommend them, and will definitely use them again for future tree care.

You might want to be present on site the entire time. Make sure they understand exactly what you want done. Supervise.

They showed up early and started on Friday afternoon and returned on Saturday to complete the job.
