BRENTS TREE SERVICE

Brent's Tree Service did okay. As it turned out, for whatever the original deal was, $199, that wouldn't have been enough to really get anything done on tree service. I paid about $1,200 total but they did everything that needed to be done. Compared to another tree service I had, there were four men that came out and worked and the other service was about the same amount of money and there were five men that came out and worked and they hauled off two trailer loads of stuff. I think Brent's Tree Service just hauled off one and there were just four people working. But they were very good, they knew what they were doing and it was obvious they had worked with each other before. Within a few days of my purchase of the Big Deal he came out and made notations as to what trees needed to come down. They were very prompt. And it was within a week, I think, that the men came out and worked. I was very satisfied with it but I just thought it was a little bit high. I could have said, "No, that's too much." I think, one thing, and it sounds like a little piddly thing that I thought was real good is, the pieces of wood for my cast iron heater can't be longer than 18 inches; and they were real careful to cut up all the stuff up so it would actually fit in my cast iron heater. I think as long as you tell them that you want them to do that, they're real good about it.

I had a little bit issue with the sales coordinator, he seemed to be totally confused, he didn't seem to know how to use the Angie's List coupon, he couldn't seem to get everything in order but I got the impression that he was very new. They guy that did the work was great, the work was fine but the sales coordinator was just horrible. And I didn't want to give her a bad review because one new guy was confused but I don't know cause I only used them one time. I don't know, if somebody had been there for a week and they don't have any clue what's going on yet, the work was fine but my experience with him less than stellar. This guy was all confused and he gave me a discount and then I said, well I had the Angie's List coupon and he said the discount was more than the coupon so hold on to the coupon and I could use it next time. And this guy was just horrible, I had no idea what I paid, whether I saved more or what I did. Like I said, he was very confused but the work was good. The guys were on time, the work was fine but the person that I dealt with setting it up and did the estimate was confusing. I was reluctant to put a review based on that because he didn't even seen to know how to use the coupon or what he was doing with it or anything and I told him I had one when I called them. So like I said, I hate to review a company based on one person but he may not been there long enough to know what they're doing. Their work was fine, I didn't have a problem with their work. They just cannot get themselves untangled and it's more on the administrative part it than the work itself I had confusion with. I never did use the coupon because I didn't have any other work to be done then. They did a good job cleaning up and everything, they were on time, the guy that came was okay, it was just the sales man. In general, I don't remember lot because it was quite a while.

All of the work was done quickly and with great attention to detail and aesthetics. A month later all of the trimmed trees are in visibly better health and condition. I would definitely use Brent's Tree Service again in the future.

Service was scheduled within a week of estimate. Crew arrived promptly. The crew was larger than expected, but this helped them move/clean up very efficiently and swiftly throughout the day. All safety precautions appear to have been taken. Very professional and thorough. Walk-through before and after job was detailed. Overall, excellent service & value for the money.

We thought they did a good job and they were very nice both in person and on the phone. They made sure everything was to our satisfaction before they asked for payment (we wanted them to come pick up the mulch from the stump removal and did so before they asked for payment).

We have used Brent's Tree service several times. They are always punctual, professional and courteous. Each time we have been very satisfied with the work. Their price may seem a little higher than others, but it is worth every penny. Brent's does top notch work every time. They do a good job of clean-up. The crew is good about listening to comments that I make. I agree with the other Angie's list customer who suggested no coupons be offered. I agree that it causes confusion and unhappy customers. I also read the Angie's list reviews and noticed most negative comments had to do with pricing and coupons. We will use Brent's again in the future.

I am a first time home owner, still in my first year of ownership with lots of things to update/upgrade/clean-up. My lot is a 1.1 acre corner lot with about 20 trees (including 4 very large trees) that have not been taken care of in years. This was my first estimate. Requested estimate by phone and made appt for today (Saturday). Thank you for being willing to do this on a weekend. Darryl O'Brien called and let me know he was on his way and showed up on schedule. He was initially very polite and appeared to be very knowledgeable. When it came down to pricing, he stated about 3-4 days may be needed to take down one large diseased oak tree, one cedar, two hack berry trees, and clean up all of the other trees. Original $$ was about $4600. I had no clue it may be this high due to my inexperience. He immediately came down "...with my best offer if you schedule today..." to $3600. To me, $4000-5000 is a lot of money. I let him know that I had read some reviews and would probably be using them, but would like to get other quotes since I was new at this, and may need a couple of months to budget appropriately. He seemed upset that I wasn't signing on the dotted line and became pushy. He ended up leaving without giving me a copy of the quote, and if he would have been driving something other than a Prius, his tires would have spun as he left in a huff. (Having gone back and read more reviews on Angie's List and Yelp, there appears to have been many experiences with Darryl such as mine.) I won't be using Brent's because of this bad impression Darryl just made.

DO NOT USE BRENT'S IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR TREES! I was happy with Brent's up until the actual service. They were prompt in scheduling an appointment, showed up for the consult on time and the service team showed up as promised. However, the service team that did the tree trimming consisted of an adult male and a male that looked to be a young teen. They left without asking me to review their work. When I went outside to look at the trees I noticed one had been trimmed unevenly and looked awful. I contacted Brent's and they sent someone out and took pictures of the tree. When they called me back to discuss it, they said the tree was fine and would grow back! There was no offer of an apology, discount, nothing.

As always Brent's was quick to respond to my phone call. They came out the same week to give me a bid and explain what they would do. They returned within a few days to complete the job and the trees looked great and the yard was spotless.

I was actually having this work done for my parents at their home. Their trees had not been trimmed for many many years. The guy came out to give us an estimate one day and his crew arrived the next day. I can't remember exactly what day they were there, but it was definately one of the coldest days we've had, it was in the 40's. The crew was great. They worked very efficiently. They worked out in that cold for hours and did excellent work. My husband and my Dad went out a couple of times to ask them to make sure to remove certain branches and the crew always did what they asked. Their trees look amazing. Just trimming the trees made them so much prettier and healthy looking. I have a suggestion for Brent's, do not have coupons. I think that some people have absolutely no idea how much professional tree trimming costs. They have a coupon and they have totally unrealistic expectations of what they will receive when they use the coupon. I have read the reviews on here and most of the negative ones are from people who have tried to use a coupon. You will never be able to satisfy the people who want something for nothing.

Brent's showed up on time and were very professional. We had bought an Angie's List Big Deal but wanted to expand the service to include all the trees on the lot. We were given a price that seemed reasonable and the crew showed up as promised and immediately set to work. The only slight hiccup was that the representative suggested we have the suckers removed from the oak limbs and those were not removed during the initial service. I called Brent's and they had someone out the next day to resolve it. Everyone was very professional and helpful.

Unfortunately, this deal did not work out for me.

The workers had only one person who spoke some English. I felt they knew their job, but mostly they were intent on being very fast so they could get to their next job. That is why they came a day early and late in the day as when I called to say I did not want them there, the person I spoke to said they had to make at least $2000 a day and they were trying to get to that number. I did not appreciate that response. It was serving the company and not the customer. It was late afternoon (4:00 p.m.) and I had just returned from a trip and had my dogs to deal with). They did come the next day and worked very fast but I had to go out and point out branches they were not getting. Then, all of a sudden they were gone and when I went out to look, all work was not completed. I called and they sent them back a few days later and they completed the job. Some branches still too low over houses on both sides of me and as I said, I had to clean off my back decks of leaves and branches that whoever was in charge of the back was in too much of a hurry to finish. Again, I don't mean to sound crabby but I felt their attention should be on my job and not looking forward to a time table to get to the next job to meet their quota.

They were not the most expensive quote, but the second highest of 5. I just felt it was a very heavy sales push with an urgency to sign up today. Also, a lot of services that didn't seem necessary.

Very quickly, estimate was on Wednesday and the work was completed on Friday (they even swept!!!)

They did a very good job with the work. Their was a lot of haggling with the Angie's List coupon. I felt like the coupon did not make a difference with this experience. They brought in a huge crew, they did very good work, and I was happy in the end. They were at my home for an entire day. When somebody asked me for a tree service recommendation, I did mention this company.

This is the fourth time we have used this tree service for the trees on our very large steep heavily treed lot. Darell came to give us an estimate on Friday, January 25. We agreed on a price and he agreed to begin the work on Monday, January 28 with the workers arriving between 9 and 10 am. Two crews with two trucks and a chipper/shredder appeared promptly at 9 am as promised. Eight guys worked continuously until 3:30 pm, removing trees, trimming trees, carrying up fallen limbs from the valley and processing all of it in the chipper/shredder. Darell arrived in early afternoon to check their work and we identified some additional fallen trees that were revealed after the area on the left side of my house was cleared. We agreed to pay extra to have these trees and debris removed. At 3:30 pm one of the workers appeared at my door and told me they were done. I checked a pile of wood from a huge fallen cedar on the right rear of my house and there were still many logs lying there. I brought this to the attention of this worker but he told me they weren't supposed to remove those. I dismissed him and decided to take this up with Darell instead. On Tuesday morning, January 29 I called Darell and told him about the logs that still remained and pointed out to him that removal of the logs on the left rear of the house was indicated on the original contract. He agreed and told me he would have a crew out to finish the job as soon as they could be scheduled. A gentleman from the company called me on Tuesday afternoon to inquire about my satisfaction with the work that had been done. I told he they had done a wonderful job but hadn't finished it. He said he would try to get a crew out on Wednesday. On Wednesday I was away from the house and when I returned, I found a crew and the chipper/shredder in my driveway and the job was completed to my satisfaction after another two hours. Overall I was very pleased with the outcome and with the company's response to the unfinished portion of the work. The same gentleman called me again on Thursday to find out if the job was done to my satisfaction. I told him it was and gave him the credit card information to pay for the job.

The workers consulted with me as work progressed and reviewed job when finished. I have no further comments, except that I had used this company before this job and will use them again.

They missed my neighbors driveway and came back and did a super job.
