Professional- No other service close- We have tried to utilize other services that may have been a little cheaper, but Bartletts always provides peace of mind when dealing with our trees- Bartletts is always great- Nick at Bartlett always spends time to be sure you understand exactly what will be done & why. My spouse always feels like she has received a great value from Bartlett- Other tree services that we have tried to get prices from made her feel like she was asking too many quetions- We always have come back to Bartletts- We have used them 3 times for pruning & tree removal.

The arrived at exactly the time we were given. He was informative and kind and helpful. I was assuaged of all my worries about our tree. All in all I was quite happy with the service. I would definitely have wanted them to treat the tree had there been any issues. Fortunately for us there were not.

It went great. All cuttings were done as we expected. The cuts were sealed and the cleanup was complete and perfect. The crew was great and very professional.

Matthew was extremely professional and spent considerable time with us explaining some issues about trees on our property, but he never came across as giving us a "sales pitch".

We chose Bartlett Tree Service based on the company's expertise and Angie's List ratings to handle some initial cleanup for the house we bought recently, which has a largely un-managed yard that needs a lot of work - to be completed in phases. The first issue was to remove some dead trees (one of which was a potential hazard to cars on the street, and one which had fallen on the garage). The second issue was to prune the trees close to the house where branches were too close to the roof, allowing easy access for rodents, and potential hazards during storms, etc. Nick, the rep who came out to estimate the work, was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We walked around the property and discussed the long and short term plans for the landscaping, and Nick was good enough to provide an estimate that including a range of options, so that we could pick which items to move forward with while having an idea of the cost of future work. He suggested the removal of a third tree, to encourage proper future growth of surrounding trees, and he also offered some recommendations in terms of what might grow well in terms of the soil and landscape that we're dealing with. The crew was friendly, but did not communicate much with me during the job - rather Nick described the work to them, left them to do it, and then returned to walk around with me. The work was accomplished according to the estimate, and although the price seems a little high now that we've had some other yard work done, we're happy with the work that was done.

They were real straight shooters. They didn't promise anything they couldn't deliver. They were very helpful and I have had them come out other times to checkup on things. I would highly recommend them.

Steve Austin from the San Marcos office came to my home to inspect my sick tree and give me an estimate for removal.It was quite a large Ash tree and I thought the estimate was a little high, BUT after I saw all the work these guys did, it turned out to be money well spent. They were on time, very concerned about not damaging my landscape, moved all my potted plants then replaced them, and cleaned up every bit. They even moved a birds nest w/baby birds to another tree. I love these guys!

I found Bartlett Tree Service on Angie's list last year. We were having bad problems with aphids in our trees. Matt came out and told us what was needed and quoted a price. I was surprised because I thought it would be a lot more for the service. They were here when they said they would be, sprayed the trees and the aphids were gone. We received a letter this year that the trees needed to checked again to insure the aphids would not return this year. I appreciate NO PHONE CALLS. Matt came out again at the scheduled time and gave me a report on our aphid problem. I was able to discuss a problem with our ash trees; the limbs were falling off. He explained that our ash trees have lived beyond their life expectancy and suggested some of the limbs needed to be taken out of the top to take weight off. He was very honest that with the age of the tree this would probably help but no guarantee the problem of losing limbs could still be a problem. He gave me an estimate of$550.00. A big surprise as I have talked to others who have had their trees trimmed to the tune of $1200 to $1500. The crew came out, trimmed the trees and cleaned up the yard. They even took a big limb that had fallen from our backyard ash and disposed of it for me. I am so impressed with the professionalism these young men showed and especially the professional dress. Nice kaki jeans and polo shirts. We will see Matt again this fall to check on our trees. We will continue to use them as long as I am in this house and they are in service. After 100 + years in business, I think they will be around for a while.

Bartlett did an excellent job overall. The crew was on time, and thoroughly cleaned up all debris. Our trees look amazing. We are very happy with their work, and will hire them again.

Came as soon as promised, right on time. Walked the lawn and felt the technician gave a good thorough review of my needs and came up with a great price for all the work I needed. Gave me tips on things I could do myself. And even suggested I wait a month before they trim so the tree can finish blooming and have a more effective trim. I felt I could trust this company not to oversell me. I will schedule my service when my tree has finished blooming instead of just having buds. I would recommend them to anyone.

The crew arrived on time and we reviewed the work to be performed. The guys did a great job. The work was completed as promised. Afterword, they did a great job cleaning up and making sure I was a happy customer. I highly recommend the Bartlett team for taking care of your trees.

Needed canopy raised on 2 younger trees and shaping done on 2 very mature live oaks. Representative visited to discuss work needed, make recommendations based on professional experience and provided quote. Services were ordered and Bartlett arrived as scheduled with 3 man crew who did the work within only couple hours (as projected). During services, the crew did ask me to come out and look at the work done so far and asked how I wanted remaining shaping to be done (gave options for different appearances) which was very much appreciated. The crew was all very knowledgable, professional, and courteous. There also were no language difficulties in communicating with the crew. We will definitely use Bartlett again.

A representative from Bartlett called me the day before the scheduled appointment to confirm the appointment day and time. I thought this was an indication of professionalism and gave a good impression. The person who came to my home to do the estimate was professional, both in appearance and in behavior. He listened to what I wanted, made helpful suggestions, and did not waste my time with a sales pitch. He left me with my good impression of Bartlett, in tact. I received the estimate within 24 hours as promised. The estimate was reasonable, competitive with other companies. I responded by email, and received a response, again within 24 hours. I was not required to be on site when the work was done. I was pleased with the results of the work. The tree trimming looked natural, not haphazard, and the results were exactly what I had requested. Everything was cleaned up, and no one would have known that anything was done. I would recommend Bartlett to anyone needing any type of tree service. I know that I will call them again.

Arborist Steve Kinslow responded promptly to my call for help with two crepe myrtles. He diagnosed an infestation of aphids and a treatment plan. The treatment was applied within a few days and it seems like the problem has been solved. I intend to use this company as needed.

The crew arrived on time and got to work. The trees were trimmed as discussed, jasmine was removed from a clump of trees, and all wounds were sprayed to prevent beetles. I noticed that they were careful about my outside potted plants and landscaping, and cleaned up completely when they were done, making it look as if they had not been there (except that the trees look better!). I did not feel I needed to supervise, as they were clearly experienced and knew what they were supposed to do. They did not play loud music, move things around without replacing them, etc.; they were professional, agreeable, and efficient.I am very impressed and grateful that, after the job was finished and I asked the arborist to come back and out and look at a few things I wanted to add to the job, he came out promptly and was willing to add those items for no additional charge. The arborist is excellent, and a storehouse of knowledge about tree health. In all, I feel they went above and beyond any tree service I've ever had, and I would use them again without hesitation. I've paid this much for tree services who left a mess, hurried through the job, and did not have a solid grounding in tree health, so I think this price was a bargain!

The guy was just wonderful. He was so nice. He did not even charge me because he said the tree was a goner. The arborist’s name was Steve. I called him and he came the next day and looked at the tree. He told me it had a fungus which was not recoverable. We offered to pay him but he said it was okay. He said he was on his way home so it was okay. He just looked at the tree and said it was a fungus and it is probably not going to make it. I would absolutely recommend them. It is a fairly large tree and I told them that when the tree dies I would have them come out and take care of it.

The key to this company is that it's run by certified arborists. They are professionals that give a complete evaluation of your trees and shrubs. They make recommendations based on that, and give you an estimate. Their crews are actually trained to do the work and they come with complete safety equipment. They have liability insurance and workers comp insurance, which is pretty important in these situations. They bring a shredder with them and clean up the property. An arborist comes and reviews the work to make sure it's all done correctly. You know they are serious because they bring all of the equipment they need to really get the job done.

They trimmed our oak trees from the house and over the swimming pool. They removed a China Berry Tree and fertilized the three live oaks. They also helped a few other trees.

Jim Seng walks the property, makes recommendations, discusses priorities and gives an estimate on the spot. The crew is very pleasant and accommodating about where to cut.

It's been going excellently, I couldn't be happier with them. I like their timeliness, knowledge and the person they sent out was a certified and educated arborists. He was able to immediately diagnose the problem of the Cypress. I felt that for the work done they were very cost effective. On the day of the trimmings and first treatments they sent two teams out, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They accomplished the job expertly, quickly and cleaned up after themselves completely. They were very professional from beginning to end.

They’ve been around I think for about seventy five years. One of the reasons why I like them is, they pay their people including the ones climbing the trees with four benefits including medical. They are not the cheapest in town but they treat their people the way I believe they should be treated. That’s one of the reasons I give them my business. They’ve got expertise in their field. There was no bond or fees during the initial assessment. They were very good at staying on schedule. The employees once they were here did what it took to do a really thorough job. They were courteous and they left everything in very good order. I would recommend them to the others and tell people to hire them. They are a bit on the expensive side. We also do pay all of their employee’s living wages plus benefits including medical. I would use their services again in the future.

Around October of last year Bartlett fertilized all the oak and elm trees on our property using a fertilizer they specifically blend for central Texas. Not expecting to see any immediate results, I waited until this spring to give a report. Earlier in this week I checked for improvement in the tree canopies and was thrilled to see beautiful and lush new spring growth, especially in some scrub oaks that had looked really sick and about to die. I must say I'm very pleased with their service and expertise.

The owner goes over what you want in detail before they do the job. He is on premises almost all the time, so the directions don't get lost. He's also available to talk to if he notices something you need to take care of. Many tree services in this area do not have any workers who speak English and, for me at least, once the work crew arrives there is no communication at all. The did excellent work.

Did exactly what we agreed on. Didn't try to persuade us to do more than was necessary. Really seemed to respect the beauty of our large oaks. Would definitely use them again.
