We had a wonderful experience with Austin Window Fashions! We worked with Leslie Plas who was a total pleasure to work with. She was so incredibly knowledgable and helpful along every step of the way. She helped us decide what shutters suited our home style best, offered design advice, where shutters would be beneficial in our home and where they were not necessary, and what color would best compliment our current trim and paint colors. She is a wealth of information and I trusted her expertise 100%. Chris our installer was very professional and paid attention to detail. He didn't skip corners and was very easy to work with. I love the assurance of their lifetime warranty and really feel like they wanted to be sure we were 100% satisfied with our experience from start to finish. We couldn't be happier with our new shutters and feel like they have transformed our home! You will not be disappointed with your choice to work with Austin Window Fashions! Kathy was fabulous. She came to my house the day I called the store to measure my windows. She was professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly and courteous. Our shades arrived earlier than excepted and were installed in a very professional and quick manner. He installed all 7 shades in about 30 minutes which means that Kathy's measurements were perfect.

Austin Window Fashions has been a pleasure to work with in all regards. I was able to visit a showroom in San Antonio where I lived at the time to make preliminary selections and still work with Kindal Mitchell out of the Austin office. The young lady in San Antonio gave freely of her time and was very personable and professional. I was very impressed that there wasn't any concern over who was doing what and who would earn commission. The attitude was "we all work together". Kindal set up an appointment with me for the following Monday at my new home in the final stages of construction. She showed up on time with sample books and all of my information from my San Antonio showroom visit in hand. She went through every room in which I wanted to install shades with me and made suggestions as to where I might want to consider using shades, such as on high windows in a master closet to prevent clothes from fading, something I never would have thought of. Then she proceeded to measure every window in the house (and there are many!) just in case at some later date I might want to add shades to those windows. Kindal was excellent at helping me decide on color, fabric, and design. She was able to guide me in the right direction and affirm my instinct without projecting her own personal taste. I have found that it is sometimes difficult to find someone in interior design work who will work with you and your tastes in decor for your own home! Kindal is definitely professional and sensitive in that regard. She was also just a delight to work with. She was just as excited about my selections as I was! I could not be more pleased with the final result. The fabric and style of shades are absolutely perfect for the craftsman style of our home. Jason (I believe I have his name correct) was my installer and was the most pleasant person to work with. He, too, was on time, a little early actually, and was personable and professional. Kindal followed up after the installation to see how I liked the shades. And when I had some problems with a few of the shades she was quick to have someone scheduled to come back to the house for adjustments. Adjustments were successfully made on 2 of the shades. The third shade will need to be sent in to have checked out, but the gentleman who did the adjustments was considerate in asking if I wanted to wait until after the holidays in case I had guests coming. How great is that?! The company is willing to come out an additional time (an hour's drive) to make it more convenient for me! I highly recommend Kindal and Austin Window Fashions. I believe the price was reasonable for the quality of product and service I have received. On top of that, I was given a Hunter Douglas rebate form (which Kindal was happy to explain in detail to me) which will give me $650 for my 13 shades.

They're locally made. Everything they said they would do they did. The installation was excellent and I'm thinking about using their service in the near future. I really liked what they had to offer.

We scheduled a consultation with Leslie Plas from Austin Window Fashions. She was running late due to clients being in the showroom but she called ahead which was completely OK with us. Leslie arrived and took a full tour of the home and listened to what we were looking for. Just by looking at the windows on the double doors she knew what lift system options we would have. (Something our two other consultations did not provide, one even suggested we cover part of the window with the top of the shade system, awful!) We sat down and Leslie proved her thorough knowledge of the product inside and out. It was clear Leslie was not there to "yes" us to death, rather provide clear and accurate information that would both keep our budget on track and get us the product we desired. Leslie left our home and gave us quotes within a couple days of both the Hunter Douglas Duette line as well as the lesser expensive line. Her quote came in as the least expensive of three quotes (for the same product). We did not hesitate to choose Leslie and Austin Window Fashions to place our order. Within two weeks from our order we had our beautiful blinds installed. The installer was on time, professional, and thorough. We have been living with the shades for about a week and they are perfect. To be frank whether or not Austin Window Fashions came in at the lowest price, we would have chosen them. Based on Leslie, the showroom, and the install timeline, they had us sold. It was simply a bonus that they came in at the best price.

Thank you Kathy Wallace for coming out to my house, discussing my options, and recommending a shade and color. The shades turned out great. I'm happy with the color and install. I thought I might have problems given my weird windows, but to my surprise, the shades look wonderful.

I can't say enough good things about our sales rep Tara and installer Jason at Austin Window Fashions! They are both professional, courteous and knowledgeable about their products. Tara measured for the blinds with precision, they were delivered quickly and Jason had them installed within 30 minutes. This is the second time I have used Austin Window Fashions and I highly recommend them!

Kathy Wallace came to our home to explain our options and to measure our windows. She arrived on time, was very thorough in explaining our options with shutters and was very accurate in her measurements for the manufacture of the products. When she left we had an approximate date of delivery/install and her phone number to call if any questions came up. Austin Window Fashions called and set up an install date that was prior to their estimate. The installer arrived and was finished within an hour. The shutters fit perfectly. The installer gave us helpful tips on how to keep them working properly and how to clean them. He was super professional and very knowledgeable. Kathy Wallace delivered all she said she would and Austin Window Fashions does an excellent job with shutters. She also made a follow up call to us after the installation was complete. This was our second experience with this company and we are very pleased again.

We were doing some large renovating jobs, and needed new window treatments that would go with the upgraded look. We chose Austin Window fashions because we were so impressed with the service we received from the moment we entered their store. We had samples of the new floor tiles, and colors that we had chosen to update the house with. We were uncertain which way to go because of the many window treatment options that are available today. Everyone was very helpful, patient, and worked easily with our designs often changing ..... which meant changes in some of the choices with window colors or treatments. Tersa Russel who worked with us was amazingly intuitive and flowed easily with any fears we had ( too dark, too light, too soft, too see through etc.) But she used all of her many talents in her abilities to help us "see" the final vision, and seemed to know how to adjust everything easily and creatively so that our vision stayed on target. We spoke many times on the phone and in person and every call or visit was given the same attention and desire that we get exactly what we wanted. No question, large or small was treated differently. Teresa and ALL of the people we met and worked together with were outstanding!!! The instilations went smoothly, were timely, and any wrappings, boxes, etc. were cleaned up immediately as the job progressed. We had a slight problem with one of the blinds not connecting with the remote, we called and the manager got right on it. When it seemed it might be an issue with the blind connection Austin Window fashions immediately remeasured, ordered, and installed a new blind. They even gave us a discount!!!! This is the store that we recomend to all of our friends now with complete confidence that they will be happy with the AWF team and we give the store manager, Teresa, and all of the employes there a happy A Plus. It may seem that the cost was high to some, but we have a large two story home with over 14 windows, many of them very large, tall, and wide. A few windows were actually fitted with three shades all with remotes. itworked out best for our design. The measuring for that was SPOT on..... and it was the right choice!! AWF would deffinately be our choice again.

After the initial treatment, they had to come back and fix some of their earlier mistakes. They negotiated with us on the price. Overall, we were very satisfied, even though it took a while to get 100% correct.

I chose Austin Window Fashions primarily because they carried a national-brand blind that I was interested in. During my initial showroom visit, the sales person was courteous and familiarized me with the various types of blinds that would be appropriate for my home. Several days later, the same sales person visited my home, and we were able to finalize the type of blind, and the blind color. During this same visit, measurements were taken, and a preliminary quote was drawn up, which I approved. Order lead time was approximately two weeks. Installation took the better part of an afternoon for twenty eight blinds. The installer was professional, and respectful of my home. The installation quality was very good. One minor issue was a cut-out on the door blinds to accommodate the door handle. The cut-out was in the wrong spot, which required three blinds to be returned to the workshop for re-cutting. This adjustment took one week, after which the door blinds were re-installed, and the installation was complete. I am very pleased with the new blinds. The brand I chose is a high quality, which has improved the looks of the new windows that I had installed in April. I strongly recommend Austin Windows Fashions to anyone who is looking for a high-quality solution.

I've am very impressed with Austin window fashions. The order came in earlier than expected. I needed some guidance on color selection and Leslie just nailed the color I wanted. The installer, Ray, was fast and efficient. He left no mess. The windows look fantastic. I highly recommend this company.

During our several meetings, the staff showed up exactly on time, were courteous and conscientious, and the installations were well done. They left each room spotless when they were done. We would use Austin Window Fashions and their staff again.

Teresa Russell, the sales rep we worked with, was professional and experienced. She arrived exactly on time to our townhouse and took measurements...understood exactly the effect we were trying to achieve with the shutters. She had excellent ideas about the appropriate size and color of the shutters to make them work in our home. Teresa has a wonderfully pleasant personality and was a real pleasure to work with. The shutters were completed at the time she said they would be and the installer came promptly to put the shutters up. He, too, was very professional and delightful to work with. The entire experience from the first day until completion of working with Austin Window Fashions, in particular, working with Teresa was enjoyable and successful. I called Kathy Wallace of Austin Window Fashions to come out and show me choices for privacy for my new house. I found her very professional, knowledgable about her products, and helpful when I needed suggestions and opinions about choices. The installation also went very smoothly. I would definitely use this company again.

I placed an order for motorized blinds with Austin Window Fashions on 4/12/13 and they charged us 1/2 of the cost (~$1300) that day. There was no reply to my email of 4/17 requesting an installation date. After my second inquiry on 4/25, I was told that my order was scheduled to ship from the manufacturer on 5/1, and they would call me when it was "checked in". After no contact for 2.5 more weeks, I called Kathy on 5/13. She returned my call on 5/14 and told me that the fabric I ordered was not available. She made no apology for the mess up or any attempt to rectify the situation. There was no indication of any delay or problem whatsoever prior to 5/14. So it took more than a month for AWF to finally inform me that they have no clue what happened on my order, and that I have to start over ... even though they told me weeks before that the product was scheduled to be shipped from the manufacturer. So I called AWF back and asked for a refund. I'll find someone else that can provide accurate and timely customer service. PS: I will say that the owner of the company called back several days later to apologize for the lack of customer service provided.

This is the second time I've used Austin Window Fashions. I purchased Hunter Douglas blinds before and again this time for the quality. Because I purchased many more this time, I inquired regarding the price of faux wood to save money and was pleasantly surprised to find out the real wood was only $64 more for all 9 blinds than faux wood. The service from Tara was exceptional. She came to my home to measure after our visit to the store. She had many ideas for making the all white blinds (and room) stand out by using returns and longer valances which gave the room depth and is very attractive. Every time I called during and after the installation, Tara was immediately available and helpful, ensuring every issue was resolved promptly. I purchased blinds last year and one kept giving us trouble, the first time it was replaced and then the replacement didn't raise and lower properly. I waited for the installer of my new blinds and he spent a lot of time repairing it and now it works perfectly. One of our concerns was we didn't like that when the window locks were open and we raised or lowered the blind, it would catch on the open locks. We open and close windows and blinds constantly and this was annoying, always having to hold the blind way out in one hand while simultaneously raising/lowering the blind. The installer told me this is common, but took considerable time reinstalling the blind so that it doesn't catch any more. Chris, the installer, is wonderful and cares for his customers satisfaction. He made sure all 9 new blinds were installed so that none of them caught on the locks. He would open and close and raise and lower blinds repeatedly until he got it just right. I so appreciate his efforts. He noticed a small crack in 2 of the returns (which are only an inch wide) that I never noticed, and immediately told me he was reordering them and would be back. He kept the cracked ones on though to keep the look of the room. Very thoughtful. He also noticed a 1/2 inch short on one of the valances and reordered it, another detail I overlooked. He came back twice to correct these errors and each time asked if the locks were catching or not. He is the best installer I've ever encountered. Service after the sale is paramount to me and Austin Window Fashions offers it in an excellent fashion.

A big thankyou to AWF for going all out to makeup for a manufacturer quality issue. After a problem with my wood blinds, they ordered all new blinds for me. When this didn't solve the problem, they upgraded me to faux wood blinds at no extra cost. The blinds turned out great and I'm very satisfied. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks Leslie!

The whole process for the demonstrations of the blinds at the store to the installation went very smoothly.

I like the products and brands. They have a large variety to choose from. They were on time. I do not plan to use them in the future.

1) filled out an online form for contact 2) Tara, a rep, contacted me a few days later 3) I gave her window dimensions over the phone and we scheduled an appointment 4) she sent me an estimate 5) I sent an email and cancelled the appointment. She called. I told her that her estimate seemed to have lost connection with reality in my opinion. So they may do fine work and service, and that may be perfectly acceptable for people who are not price sensitive for what they get. However I was not one of them. ### Follow up: The owner called me on 5/1/2012 at 12:27pm to clarify that I did not find the equivalent of their brand name product (which I have never mentioned here). This is true, but I found, what is in my non-professional opinion of someone who has done 7 major remodels, and built two million dollar plus houses from scratch, an equivalent and much less expensive product from another dealer. He may very well be the best "Mercedes class" equivalent dealer in blinds, but I think I found a "BMW" that is awfully close. But then I am not a professional, just a seasoned end user. It just depends on what you want to own. So I changed my "experience" to a "C" because he did call, and did care more than his sales person.

I read the reviews on Angie's List prior to selecting this company. Leslie Blas assisted us in the showroom upon our arrival. She gave us a tour of all of our choices for window treatment, and described the features of each, and answered our questions. My house was newly remodeled and did not have any current window treatments. Our interest was in plantation shutters. Leslie explained that their website offered a place to experiment with different styles of plantation shutters and other window treatment. After a few days, we made an appointment for Leslie to come to the house and take measurements and provide her advice about choices. We had decided that we wanted the shutters that do not have a middle cross section, but open on the side. We weren't sure what to do in the kitchen and with Leslie's assistance at the house, we looked at different fabric blind options, and decided not to select anything at this time. One bedroom we put in faux wooden blinds, since we were thinking to remodel that room in the future, it was in the back of the house, so we didn't need to invest in the shutters. Leslie took the measurements, and it was after 5 pm on a Friday night, so we did not need to take off of work. Leslie is very knowledgeable about her product, and helps you make a design decision. The installation was on a Saturday morning, and the workman was very prompt. I checked all of the shutters when he was done, and one needed to be reinstalled, since it opened the wrong way. He cleaned up and was very exact and efficient. Leslie called later, to make sure we were satisfied, and later mailed us a holiday card. I highly recommend this company.

Excellent help selecting the correct blind for my bath, as so many wouldn't work. Same good experience with selecting color for my kitchen. Saleswoman excellent with the details. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get them in, they'd call me then and set up an install date. 3 weeks passed, no word. I called and was told they were in but no one called me. I asked to schedule and was told someone had to get back to me. They called a couple of days later, first install date was cancelled by them, no fault of theirs, the second date was a week later.

Ms. Leslie Plas of Austin Window Fashions (who we had worked with before) came to the house to take all the necessary measurements and put together the proposal/order. She knows her stuff when it comes to blinds, and everything went pretty much according to plan (measurements + order to installation took about 2 weeks) and we are very pleased with the look and function of the blinds. The installer (Chris) was prompt, courteous and did a fine job also. The only hiccup was that one set of the blinds arrived with several of the slats apparently damaged during shipping, and neither I nor the installer caught the defect during the initial install. After discovering the defect, Austin Window Fashions quickly obtained and installed an entire, flawless replacement blind at no charge. During the replacement of the damaged blinds, they also made slight dimensional modifications to the slats of one of the other blinds at my request -- also at no extra charge. We have more large windows in the house that will be getting changed to a more energy efficient design in the next several months, and once that's completed, we will be contacting Leslie (Austin Window Fashions) again to set us up with blinds for those windows as well.
