We just bought a home and needed alot of trees chopped down. We hired Austin Tree Experts and they were fantastic. They did a great job and we have used them again already.

It went fine. The pricing was reasonable. They got there on time, took care of the work and cleaned up after themselves. They did a good job.

I called them to get an estimate to cut branches from out trees and haul away fallen branches. A man came out and we walked th property talking about the job for about 30 minutes. He emailed me an estimate which I accepted online. Then several very professional men came out to do the job.. I was pleased. I paid online. I would highly recommend this service.

Very well. They had appropriate man power and equipment.

Was on time for the appointment, knowledgable and personable. I agreed to the work, which they performed about a month later. They took down two trees, then ground the stumps. One of the locations still has some roots showing, so I would have preferred they be a little more thorough on grinding. They also left quite a bit of the mulch from grinding--which I didn't want in case of disease. I had to shovel a number of yard bags to level the ground, I would have thought for the price that they would have done that but I didn't explicitely ask if that was part of the service. They were not able to find a good quality tree the size I'd requested for the new one they planted. I was disappointed they didn't tell me that until I asked about it. The one they ended up planting was smaller, so cheaper, and I had to ask for a new invoice for the lower amount. To their credit, they damaged a pole on the carport during work and called me about it immediately. They had someone come in and replace it to my satisfaction.

They showed up when they said they would and completed the task to my specifications. No issues from my perspective.

They provide an outstanding service throughout the year and are always extremely responsive to all of my inquiries. I would, without reservation, recommend them to anyone seeking to provide sustained care for their trees.

They are very timely and seem to be very thorough in the way the do their work. Once they are finished, they clean up well and leave promptly.

Keith came out on 2/4/2013 to talk with me about services I needed. Two trees needed to be removed and three other trees trimmed. He was very punctual and helpful. He said I would get an estimate that night or the next morning. I emailed Keith on 2/8/2013 to ask about the estimate because I thought he might have an incorrect email address. I emailed the office on 2/11/2013 asking about the estimate. No answer to either email. I then tried calling the office but the phone was not answered. I wish he would have let me know he did not want to do the work instead of wasting my time.

Of estimates from multiple services, Keith's was the most comprehensive. He asked questions about what we wanted, listened well, and took a little extra time to recommend things to do ourselves to help improve the overall heath of our trees. The job was big enough that it took the two-man crew a day and a half to finish, and overall the experience was excellent. Price was a bit higher than other estimates but generally competitive. The estimate to remove a tree completely was significantly higher (almost double), we opted out of that for now. We ranked Quality as "B" only because there is no A-; there was one limb I specifically pointed out at the end of the second day that was not taken care of on the second (but simple enough to take care of myself), and cleanup was a little less than excellent. Note that none of my "complaints" were significant enough to warrant calling them back to address, just not quite "perfect." They will be first on my list when it comes time to do this work again.

We've used Austin Tree Experts twice before when Micah was the arborist. He's now gone and this time Daniel came out to the house and gave the same great service vis a vis estimate and explanation of all work to be done as Micah before. They were to take down four trees on back slope of the house, haul off several small trees I'd taken down earlier, prune three large crepe myrtles in front, and prune and remove mistletoe from a large elm in back. Next day the office called and Kayce (Jayce?) scheduled the work for afternoon of Feb 1st. We agreed but insisted the trees not be taken down until we arrived about 1pm as the slope is very steep and we wanted to be onsite for the work. On Feb 1 we arrived home about 12:30 pm and no one was there. The crepe myrtles in front appeared un-pruned so we sat and waited for the crew to arrive. Never happened. That night I emailed Daniel and complained. The next day the office called and Kayce said the work was done. She said she had had called and left us a message the morning of Feb 1 that the job would be done in the morning. Unfortunately there was no message on either our landline or my cell so I don't believe she did call and leave a message. I walked out on the back deck and looked down the slope and saw the trees were gone and the work on the elm was done. However it looked to me like the crepe myrtles in front were not pruned. Upon closer inspection it was obvious that about 20 or 25% of the outer limbs were pruned. We're used to them being totally pruned back to the stumps and understand this way is preferable ... but it still seems they weren't really pruned very much. Perhaps the confusion was our fault although I don't quite see how. I insisted we be on site when the back trees were taken down. There was no call on the morning of Feb 1 as far we can tell and the trees were taken down without us being present and no note of any kind left. So the communication was lousy. But the job ultimately looks OK and the price was within the range of other quotes.

Pretty good quote and then they were able to come out within a couple of days. They invoiced me by mail since I am not in the state which I thought was good.

Great overall! Properly scheduled and followed up with both phone calls and a thorough e-mail report on the condition of our trees.

They were punctual, professional, extremely knowledgable and efficient. We plan on using them in the spring and would recommend them to others.

Overall, I'd say it was a great experience. Since I wasn't able to monitor the work I liked that they always send someone to follow up. As most good companies should, I was also glad that they completed the job to our satisfaction.

The estimator and owner, Keith was knowledgeable and friendly. He provided advise on several issues I was having and provided an estimate promptly. The workers seemed to know what they were doing and did a good job of trimming. I have quite a bit of plants growing under the trees that were trimmed (including the lower limbs of the pecan itself). Minimal damage was done to this undergrowth. The yard was cleaned up well after they were finished. Best of all, their price was less than half of that quoted by one of the larger firms in town who I had used in the past. There was a scheduling snafu which did not matter to me since I generally work from home. I received a call that said my appointment would be one day. On that day I called and they said is was scheduled for the next. I had kept the voice mail so I double checked. Somewhere along the line they had changed the date but not notified me.

We used Austin Tree Experts for multiple services, so I have provided a brief review of each service: Initial Consultation I met with a total of three highly rated (on yelp & Angie's List) arborist/ tree service companies, and I decided to hire Austin Tree Experts to prune and care for all of our trees. Shortly after I hired Austin Tree Experts to care for my property, a tree on my grandfather's property line became an "issue". I had Austin Tree Experts diagnose my grandfather's tree (another great experience working with Austin Tree Experts) Pruning Staff arrived on time. They were friendly and professional. The crew did an amazing job. They managed to remove all the dead limbs and still keep the trees looking healthy and symmetrical. They meticulously cleaned all the dead limbs AND cleaned out the gutters. All for a very reasonable price. Tree Maintenance The price of this service is incredibly reasonable. The arborist assigned to our property, Daniel Priest, is professional, friendly and definitely knows his stuff. Diagnosing/ Treating Sick or Injured Trees My grandfather's neighbor wanted to remove a huge, beautiful pecan tree that grows between the two properties. The neighbors had two legitimate concerns (1) a hole in the tree (2) a large limb that hangs over their driveway and part of their three-story house. The neighbor had a tree company (not monitored by an arborist) look at the tree. The neighbor's "tree company" recommended completely removing the tree. The company the neighbor hired not only misdiagnosed the tree, but also did not know Austin's' laws and regulations regarding Heritage trees. The tree in question was large enough to fall under the Heritage Tree regulations - which would have caused problems/fees if removed without approval. Daniel Preist evaluated the tree and confirmed that the tree could be saved and nursed back to health. He also provided several solutions that would maintain the health of the tree and also address the neighbor's concerns. I highly recommend Austin Tree Experts!

ATE was actually the best price by $44, but they could not do the job until late Sept. I believe they would have done a great job, but we needed the tree removed sooner than they could schedule.

Keith came to the house and gave me an estimate. I was very impressed with his professionalism and expertise, we agreed on the work to be done and a price. I was never given a written estimate with a description of the work to be done., which I didn't think would be necessary because Keith stated the process would be the crew would start about 9 am and he would come around 10 am to be sure they knew exactly what to do, and then return around 3 pm to insure everything was completed satisfactorily. Keith got busy and never came. I was left to supervise the crew and tell them what the job was to be. They worked hard and did everythng I asked but they leftt without telling me or asking if everything was done correctly. This made it necessary for a return trip to complete the job. In fairness everyone was polite and responsive to my complaints and everything was completed to my satisfaction on the return trip. The whole experience went bad when Keith didn't show up as promised. Recomendations: Get a firm solid committment there will be someone there to supervise the crew. Get a written description of the work to be performed. Realize that when you pay for a full day that means 7 and a half hours and they are not going to check with you prior to leaving.

Austin Tree Experts has done tree work for me several times now and it's always a good experience. I like that a certified arborist comes out to give the estimate, so I can ask lots of other questions about my trees and their care in addition to discussing the current job. The office staff is friendly and responsive, and it's nice to always be able to reach a person to speak to. I also like that I can view my estimate and pay my account online too. These folks keep their appointments; the arborist and the work crew arrived as promised. The crew worked very hard but also very carefully. They were respectful of my property and did a great job of cleanup. They hauled off all the limbs so there's no wood chipper noise either. They did exactly the work we agreed on, exactly the way I wanted it done. I'm impressed, again!

The problems began one month later when all the trees died and he told me he had problems with these trees. Thus began a two month odyssey to get a response on when the trees would be replaced. Several times I got no response and had to pester him. At the end of May he finally came and planted new trees which as of today are healthy. I rated the company lower because of the poor way my problem was handled. When you pay that much money and have to work so hard to get attention and your problem fixed, it is poor customer service and not professional. He and the staff were apologetic at the end and I have an extended warranty period. I may give him another try in the future because he did provide good trees and they were planted correctly. Three months later I called them again because 2 of the 3 new trees died and he did come In October 2012 to replant and gave me another one year warranty. He and the staff were very responsive and attentive. I think they really tried to make up for the poor service I experienced last spring. I will have to wait a while to see if the third round of gtree planting works.

Very well. Arrived on time, performed work as requested. Fig tree grew lots of new branches , producing many figs. Cleanup was excellent, except for one area that was overlooked. (Owner not available to supervise at that time.) After a call to owner, crew and owner returned soon and cleaned up the small area well.My report was delayed due to many medical visits my wife had to make, and she cannot drive anymore. Sorry for the delay!

Austin Tree Experts were competitively priced and came out and did what they said they were going to do. What more can you ask?! They cleaned up all the dead limbs from the tree removal. My only complaint is that when they had someone come out a few days later to grind the stump, they gave no warning of the huge mess it would leave. I'm talking a HUGE pile of wood chips covering part of a garden bed and gravel driveway. If I ever have a stump ground again, I would leave a tarp near the area so it'd be easier to clean up and reuse as mulch. As it is now, the neighborhood cats have been enjoying it as a litter box. All in all though, good service and price, will use again in the future.

The crew showed up on time as scheduled and worked very quickly and asked pertinent questions in regards to how I won it the trees trimmed. They did in excellent job and left the area clean including my neighbor’s yard. I would definitely use this company again.
