Austin Irrigation Management

After having my lawn aerated my back sprinkler system no longer worked. So I researched Angie's list for a repair technician. I left a vm for Jeff after hours. He called me back on a Fri evening, promptly, and very professionally. I sensed he really cared; rare in this business. Jeff showed up on time and searched for the break in my sprinkler wiring. My system was apparently a 'mishmash' of several systems and as a result it was extremely difficult to find the break. Nonetheless, Jeff stuck w/ it, ultimately taking 5+ hrs to find and fix the break. My only issue is that it takes so longer to find a 'break in wiring'....perhaps it really is so difficult but it seems like there should be an easier, most cost-effective solution. I was charged 'straight time', and that was pretty steep(and why I noted the price was only 'fair'.....a " C "....) It strikes me that there should be a more efficient way to find a wiring break. Nonetheless, Jeff was a good technician (unless there's a good tool out there that could easily find a wire break) and I'd hire him again. Very trustworthy, very professional, very patient/hard-working.

Overall, the experience with Austin Irrigation Management was great. Jeff called the morning of the appointment to confirm we were still on, and as soon as he arrived, he got to work. I spent some time outlining the issues with my sprinkler system, and Jeff addressed those as well as others that I didn't even know about. He fixed the known and unknown issues without complaint, and then he gave me a full run down when he was done. Additionally, he took the time to give me a thorough walk-thru on my system's control panel because I did not have the manual. Finally, he even suggested a sod option after I told him that we were planning to rework the backyard. He was very professional, and the experience was much better than some of the nightmares I've read about other local businesses. I will certainly call him in the future should we run into problems.

I have a 7-zone system that had one zone that hadn't worked in years. We had been using the other 6 zones and a manual sprinkler on the problem zone (#2) for many years. However another zone (#3) lost significant pressure last year after an adjoining fence had been repaired. Someone else took a look at the system, and he had basically bailed on it when he saw the extent of the damage and left the system in partial disassembly, believing I could get someone there to finish the work and re-assemble it in a couple days. He even referred me to a repair-specialty business. However, they were swamped (and centered in the Round Rock area - I'm on the southwest side) and their southwestern region guy couldn't get to me for 3 weeks! So I found Austin Irrigation Management on Angie's List and e-mailed him. He answered that night and said that he was swamped as well, and couldn't get to me for 2 weeks. I had no good alternatives, and the system was non-functional, so I had him set up the appointment. He was very responsive by e-mail, which I really appreciate since it's hard to call from work during the day. He showed up when he said he would (actually an hour earlier, but he called ahead and was at work when I got there). After getting the zones back going (except #2), he diagnosed valve problems on zones 2, 3, 4, and 5 and replaced the valves. He had thought that the job would take 1-2 hours, but after the rebuilds, there was a broken electrical connection to zone 2 that he traced and fixed, and then the puddles in zone 2 started. All-in-all, he spent 6 hours total repairing about a dozen leaks, ranging from lines that had been cut by garden tools, heads that had ripped loose by wayward roots or other random acts, and an interesting repair that had been done previously using plumber's putty and duct tape that gave way during testing. He also found a leak in zone 3 that had been caused by the fence construction. I'm happy to say that the whole system is functioning well now. If I get another problem, I wouldn't hesitate to call him again - I just hope it's in the offseason!

When I was younger, I did my own sprinkler work but I was never as good or as fast as Jeff Tucker. He got caught in a traffic jam on the way to my house but called to explain and got to me as soon as he could. He worked hard and fast and resolved my issues efficiently. I am extremely pleased with the work he did and will definitely call him back again if I need anything else done. I am also very pleased with Angies List and my ability to rely on the recommendations I find here.

We had an excellent experience with AIM. I submitted a request for service and got a call back the same day. The ONLY issue we had was the they are so popular it took a week to schedule the appointment! however, none of our repairs were an emergency so that worked fine for us. Jeff showed up exactly when he said he would and was very professional in the work that he did. he provided some suggestions about how to run our system and did a full irrigation service. Everything works the way it is supposed to and the repairs were made to our satisfaction. The pricing was very fair based on the work that was done.

It went very well. I was impressed with Jeff's knowledge and easy going manner. At first we had only a 2 hour appointment and when I emailed him my extensive list of issues, he was extremely flexible and increased the appointment to 4 hours (without me asking him to!) He immediately assessed a leak that we had, indicating it was at the end of one of our lines and would require rebuilding a valve (he could have replaced it and charged me a bunch more money - but he did not). He was responsive to my priorities, fixing them quickly with the parts he had on hand. We walked the zones and he methodically worked through the various reasons that the water pressure could have been low. Jeff even appreciated my antique irrigation system (even knowing the exact year some of the heads were sold ? 1985!) without the hard sell to upgrade everything. In the end, all of my critical issues were resolved and we made plans for him to come back. When he wrote out the ticket I complemented him on his fine penmanship. The charge for his time and services was extremely reasonable for all the work he did.

I knew enough to screw on a sprinkler head here and there. But when I had multiple problems crop up, I gave in and called a professional. Boy am I glad I did. Jeff is a true professional. He was running a little bit behind because of another job and called me before my appointment time to let me know- this was much appreciated! When he got there, he tackled the problems one at a time, explaining everything along the way. I know more about sprinklers now than I than when I woke up this morning. He advised me on how to operate my sprinklers, how to run them over winter, etc. He went through every zone and made sure the heads were covering their areas, were not clogged, and were adjusted properly. When my sprinklers screw up again, I am definitely calling Jeff!! Thanks Jeff!

I needed some repairs done on my irrigation system for some time now. About 2 years ago, I hired a plumber (Marcel from Clark Kent- never again!) who did some repairs on broken water pipes and shut off my irrigation system and told me I needed to hire an irrigation guy since he did something with the backflow of the irrigation system. Being a female homeowner, I have had my share of repair guys/irrigation guys/plumbers/painters taking advantage of me hence why I joined Angie's List. I found Jeff from Austin Irrigation Management after reading all the reviews about him, which were positive. A couple of things that I noted that customers stated about Jeff was that he was honest, reasonable, and did the job in less time and for less than what other competitors have quoted them. I called him 2 Sundays ago and left a message and didn't expect a return call until the next day, Monday. I was surprised when he called me back the same day, on a Sunday. I explained to him my situation and he anticipated that it might be a longer job, he was booked solid and told me it would be 2 weeks before he can come over and take a look at it. Since he had positive reviews on Angie's List, I thought I would take a chance with him. I'm glad I did! Jeff called me the morning of April 11 to make sure that we were still on. He came on time and looked at the problem and luckily the backflow was not a big problem after all. He gave me a rough estimate of what it will cost around $200. Jeff tested all zones, relocated one of my sprinkler head back in my yard; it was in my neighbor's yard. While digging he accidentally cut my cable wire. He told me he would take care of this cost. My cable wires have been exposed for some time now, so I knew this was eventually going to happen. Time Warner came out and did not charge me for the repair. But, I'm glad Jeff was willingly to do the right thing. Jeff fixed 4 broken heads, retracted heads, and unclogged and adjusted some of my heads. He also programmed my sprinkler system for me according to the City of Austin water schedule. I have to admit; I never knew how to program my system before. Jeff got my sprinkler system back on! Since it didn't take as long as he expected and I didn't need that many materials, the final tally was $157.55. I'm glad I waited for Jeff he was worth it! I will definitely do business with him again.

Analyzed cause of non-functioning irrigation system during first visit for which he did not charge. Returned on date and time promised and replaced defective valve and adjusted or replaced sprinkler heads as needed. Jeff Tucker, owner, does the service himself. Highly recommend him.

It went great! I've used Jeff for 3 years now and in the past he's had to fix leaks that landscapers and the City of Austin have created. And he's even rebuilt my water sensor. He's always immediately responsive to my emails for setting up a time and is ontime for appointments. He's very knowledgable about irrigation systems and is a hard worker.

This was a great experience from begining to end. Jeff returned my call to schedule the work on the evening I made the call. He arrived on time and efficiently diagnosed and repaired the broken wires that were causing the problems. It was obvious from the start that he was very experienced and knew what he was doing. I had a excellent experience using Jeff and plan to use him for all my future irrigation work. He does quality work, is punctual, and has reasonable prices. I appreciate that he worked hard to fit us into his overloaded schedule.

He was punctual and professional. He mentioned that ours was one of the oldest systems he had seen and I was expecting him to try to get us to want a newer system. Very pleased after he inspected the system found it to be in great working order. He replaced the broken sprinker head and as a bonus took a look at the control system and set it to water automatically. I had other companies do similar work and was expecting the total to run much higher than it did. Exceptionally pleased with the work, price, and professionalism. I will definitely call them for future repairs.

Very smooth. He evaluated the system for about 30 minutes and then got to work on immediate repairs. He was able to get the system working quickly, explaining things as he went along. Within two hours he had evaluated, diagnosed, and begun repairing the system. There were quite a few problems which will require further work, which he plans to do as soon as the parts are available. Look forward to working with him again.

I had a very high winter water bill, indicating a broken pipe. My plumber isolated the problem to the sprinkler system, and said I needed a licensed irrigator. I chose this company based upon its Angie's List ratings, and I was pleased with the experience. Jeff Tucker was thorough, explained things clearly, and gave me good advice. I would use him again, and I will recommend him to others.

Jeff was very easy to reach and schedule again. He works quickly and charges a very reasonable fee. I've had him come out to my house three times in the past three months...I found my sprinkler guy.

Jeff Tucker was able to set this job up for me on a few days notice at a convenient time. He arrived and worked diligently for almost 3 hours. He installed the backflow preventer and got everything back into shape before leaving. Very nice guy, and extremely competent and professional. I was very pleased with the job he did, and I was very happy that he was able to come in below the original bid he gave me. He also assessed the rest of the irrigation system before leaving.

Excellent Angie's List find!! Picked Austin Irrigation Management based on great reviews and found his reputation to be spot-on. Called mainly for the broken head in back yard, but we had a controller box with a malfunctioning display since we had moved into our house Spring of 2009. We had called another company at that time and they had quoted $350-$450 for a control box replacement and system inspection. At that time we passed due to the price and despite the display problems, the control box did run the system OK. When I mentioned all this to Jeff, he immediately informed me that the brand of box we have is warranted by the company for 5 years and we might be able to get it replaced for free. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed the other company never mentioned this. In the end, Jeff came out right on schedule, replaced my faulty control box, fixed the heads we needed repaired, and gave all the heads in six zones a look for proper functioning. Even though he wasn't 100% sure the box would be warranted based on its exposure on an outside wall, he didn't make me pay for it up front and just said he would contact me if he didn't get it covered under warrantly and would only charge me his cost (around $100). He called me the very next morning to let me know that in fact, warranty coverage was OK for the box. For two hours at my house and what he accomplished, $115 was an excellent price. Jeff's service at my house was absolute top-notch and in my experience is a very ethical business owner. As long as he's in business, I won't call anyone but him for any sprinkler issues. As a last note on his flexibility, the day before he was to come, I had a schedule change and he was able to shift me to an earlier time to accommodate me with only a day's notice.

Great--Jeff responded to my call very quickly and was able to come out the next afternoon to fix the leak. He came back once more--early in the morning--to fix the wiring and check all the heads out. He was pleasant, polite, punctual and and fair in his pricing. A very good experience
