Description of Work: Removed and replace countertop and backsplash in the kitchen. I had started the job with Teal Resurfacing, Painting, and Cleaning Services LLC who tore my kitchen apart and never came back to complete the job two and one-half weeks after partial demolition. I contacted Austin Granite Direct and Kenny and his crew did exactly what they promised. I met with Kenny on Feb 3, 2016 who came measured my kitchen with a promise the new countertop would be installed on Feb 5, 2016. He delivered. The backsplash was completed Feb 8, 2016 as promised. What was in total disarray is not a kitchen I am proud to work my magic in. Thanks Austin Granite Direct for making this happen in such a short turnaround time. In my book, "YOU ROCK!!!"

Description of Work: My husband & I visited their showroom on 8/28/2015. Sales associate, Elizabeth & trainee, Cristina showed us slabs of granite available. We selected three that we liked. The edge profile was selected along with the type of sink we wanted. It was done in a hurried mode. I got the feeling there was something else requiring their attention. A time was selected for their measuror/estimator to come out in order to give us a quote. He came out a week later on a Friday & said he would email us a quote on the following Tuesday, Sept. 8th. We still have not received anything. No one has contacted us from Granite Direct. We don't know what to think?! Guess they don't need the business. We have selected another firm.

Description of Work: Installed granite counter tops and new sinks in kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The team at Austin Granite Direct did a great job. Our initial contact was with Jose. He took the measurements, provided an estimate the next day, and scheduled the job. On installation day, the team arrived on time, finished the job in one full day, and cleaned up after completion. Very happy with the results and would absolutely hire them again.

Description of Work: New granite counter for the kitchen. |AGD did an absolutely amazing job on the new granite countertop for my kitchen. They offer two options: either pick one of the granite types they stock or go to a slab yard, pick your favorite slab and they will then take care of it. We decided to go with option #2 (which is a little more expensive then option #1, but really not that much more). They came over and measured everything. At that point we had already picked a wonderful slab, which was the largest size available. However, it was barely the size needed for the job. They made it work great with just that one slab. And they did a fantastic job. The area where the cut slabs are joined together is very hard to see. They managed to match the granite patterns perfectly. the day before the install the owner called me to explain everything that was going to happen during the install. About an hour later he called me again because he remembered that I had a small baby and wanted to make sure that I keep him away from the area of the install during and for some time after it due to the use of unpleasant glue (to me this simply means taking great care of your customer!). on the day of the install a crew of 5-6 people came over and very quickly had the whole thing put together. They did an excellent job and left the kitchen in perfect shape. a few weeks after the install I had a question and emailed the owner. Had a clear and complete answer back in my mailbox in no time. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Great work, great customer service at a price that to me is very good (I did not really look for other quotes but I was expecting to spend more money on my counters!). In my experience by far the best people that have done any sort of work in my house so far.

He and his crews were on time and did an excellent job in leveling the counter top. He also send out someone to re-clean and reseal our counter top after the entire remodeling was done. We will be using Jose again. .

+ -1 moreAfter receiving several offers, I realized that the companies that offered level one granite for $33-$45 per square foot bought the granite in bulk from the local slab yards which meant you couldn't select your own. Once I made up my mind, the guy came out to measure and setup an installation date. I liked the Santa Cecilia sample they had on but I wanted to see the slab in person before purchasing it. Somehow there was a miscommunication my getting over there. Eventually I scheduled the install but for some reason they weren't able to come when we had agreed. In the interim, I found another granite that I liked and had it installed by another company.
Description of Work: I received several estimates on different levels of granite primarily because I couldn't make up my mind on which one I wanted. They always responded with an estimate within a day or two.

+ 0 more.When I began to shop for granite counters, I quickly discovered most of the big box stores and some smaller suppliers were backed up at least four weeks. I searched Angie's List and found Austin Granite Direct who advertised a ten-day turnaround. They offered different price points and a wide variety of materials. Best of all, they were able to install the counters within my two-week timeframe. They did a great job. I am very pleased and would not hesitate to use them on my next project and recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: Austin Granite Direct measured and installed approximately 40 square feet of black granite in a simple galley-style kitchen.

+ -1 moreAustin Granite Direct came out and gave us an estimate. They also did an estimate for our neighbor while they were here. We had received estimates from 2 other companies. They were all professional but my wife like Jose the best. Their price was also slightly less than one other company. They helped her select the granite she wanted and they were understanding when she made changes and asked questions. They performed the install in a single day on the day scheduled. They cleaned up the area when they were complete. They offered options for the remaining granite not used in the Kitchen. They made a very fair quote to do the bathroom and also cover a table in the living room with the extra granite. Every visit was on time and on the scheduled day. All work was completed as requested. In the end, the project was better than I had planned. We have upgraded the kitchen and the bathroom, there was no hassle, and my wife was pleased with the experience. She did most of the working with Jose and felt comfortable the whole way. In the end, if we were going to do any more granite work, we would definitely use Austin Granite Direct again. By the way, our neighbor also used them and is very pleased with her kitchen.
Description of Work: We have a Kitchen with two separate counter tops and a large island in the middle. The builder put in Formica counter tops and it was time for the upgrade I promised when we moved in 6 years ago. This job included granite counter tops for the kitchen and also for the guest bathroom. We also upgraded the sinks to under mount composite.

+ 0 moreThey were really good and strong. They were very responsive and their pricing was good. I am happy with the work and with the product. I spent about $3,000 on them. I did a quick search in my area and collected the reviews about various companies. I called 3-4 companies. These guys came out and their bid was reasonable; it was within my budget. I was satisfied with the reviews I got for them. I did not even wait for the final bid from them. The experience was good. The pricing was great; the service was great; everybody was responsive; they turned up on time; and they stuck to the schedule. I had a small problem with the installation, but they came out within a day to take care of it. I liked the quality of their work. They were very quick. I would use them again in the future. I have already recommended them to others.

+ -1 moreTrent measured for the counters once the new cabinets were installed and provided a quote. They agreed to match the price from a DIY store that was having a special at the time. We wanted to use Austin Granite Direct as they could get the material in more quickly than the DIY store and we'd rather patronize a local company when we can. The countertops came in quicker than quoted and were installed in a timely fashion. They installed the sink I provided, as well. Trent measured for but forgot to quote and order the window sill area, so we had to wait some additional time for that piece, but it came in and was installed to our satisfaction, as well. They did a good job and we will be using them again for the new countertops in our guest bath.

+ -1 moreI like the ability to choose the slab of granite I wanted to use. They were quick and & were able to get the granite to me in about a week. I had a small issue with the templating or installation that they were willing to fix it and gave me options on how I would want it to be fixed...both solutions would have been too messy for me. After a few weeks, we noticed that the larger slab around the oven was actually two pieces fused together, when we actually requested and were told that it would be one piece. We were never told that it was going to be two pieces..not even during installation. Though the fusion was done nicely, and in an appropiate spot, we wished that we had been told that it was going to be that way. Also, we have a dishwasher that required anchoring. They neither provided an anchor point, nor informed us on what might be needed to anchor the dishwasher in lieu of one. We understand that some companies may not provide the anchor, but our expectation was that they would inform us on how it would be attached without a connection to the granite. I would give them an A grade had there been more information provided (#1- pay extra for upstairs in estimate, #2-single slab actually being two pieces, #3- how to anchor dishwasher) throughout our experience. Overall, the counters look beautiful.

+ 0 moreEverything went very smoothly. His team installed the counters in 2 bathrooms & the laundry, cut out holes for sinks we already had, and mounted the sinks. They had to come back another day to do the 3rd bathroom, because we were having the cabinets fixed. They also discovered a problem with the backsplash they'd cut for the laundry, so decided to cut another one. They brought the new laundry backsplash the day the installed the 3rd bathroom counter. Everything was cleaned up and perfect when they left, on both occasions.
Description of Work: Jose Berbel was a pleasure, especially after we'd had a not-so-great experience with our kitchen counters. Jose and his team installed granite counters & 4" backsplashes in 3 bathrooms and a laundry room. We selected a slab for the 3 bathrooms & he offered to create the laundry room counter out of a black granite remnant that he already had. We also received an estimate for fixing our ktichen counters, but ended up using a different company for that job.
