+ -1 moreOur overall move out of the apartment into our new home was extremely stressful. The person that we dealt with for the move out of the warehouse where our furniture was stored and into our home was Brandon Mullens. The day started with the move out of the warehouse. They were supposed to arrive at our house at 1:30 PM. We kept calling and calling. Finally they said the movers would be at our house at 6:30 so the move into the house was 5 hours late. They finally finished at 12:30 AM. Everyone of the crew was tired, rude and on edge after the long day that was totally understaffed. There were several things that were damaged. A few wood pieces were fixed. We noticed that the sofa on one side was not covered in plastic as was the rest of the sofa. It was covered in silk and had definite rub marks where it was obviously up against another piece of furniture. Brandon came and took pictures and had an upholstery company look at the damage. The upholstery company only looked at pictures, not in person, and said it was discolored and not rubbed. They never looked at it in person. Mustang never gave us anything for the damage to the sofa, which they made into a cause which was not accurate. We even took out extra insurance and paid an additional $860.00 with a $500.00 deductible. All in all, we would not recommend Mustang Movers especially with Brandon at the helm. The move out of the warehouse and into our home was extremely stressful and unprofessional. It was a shame that our move that began with the move out of our original house was professional and unstressful ended up to be a moving nightmare.
Description of Work: Mustang Movers moved our entire household in The beginning of June. We sold our home and had not bought another house so we put everything except a few things on storage and lived in an apartment for two months. The bid and all of my dealings for the move were done with Nicole Williams. She was very professional and helpful. Her crew was very good and made a day that could be extremely stressful into an easy, long move.

+ -1 moreOverall, I faithfully use Angie's List and I don't know how I missed the bad ratings on Apple Moving. I would have used another company but I wasn't paying full attention.
Description of Work: Moving from Round Rock, Texas to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, just before Christmas, Apple packed my furniture, which was minimal, and Stevens moved it across country. Apple packers were great except for two dumb errors; a clock was packed face down on top of my silverware so of course the glass was broken and my George Foreman grill was completely overlooked in the kitchen cabinet. Stevens turned out to be disappointing, and I really liked the truck driver, but I think he was in too much of a rush to get home to North Carolina for Christmas. First he arrived at my home on the designated day stating that the people's furniture he picked up before me had overpacked by 3500 pounds and he didn't know if there would be room in the truck for my furniture (remember I said it was minimal). Shouldn't Apple (or whoever gave the estimate to the prior people before me) have given a correct estimate? How can you misquote 3500 pounds? Then my furniture was squeezed to the very edge of the truck, and I mean the very edge. The trucker could barely shut the door. Corporate greed? A rush to get home for Christmas? Another truck couldn't have been used for my furniture? The one and only item I asked the trucker several times to not break was my cat tree. And when I got to my apartment (my furniture arrived before I did) guess what was broken? My cat tree. He had taken the top tier off and then it looked like the top tier had been screwed back on and then slammed against something, separating the particle board from the stem. To make matters worse, they tried to super glue it back together, to no avail. The super glue didn't end with the cat tree. I said my furniture was minimal but I still needed some things put in storage as I moved into a studio apartment as it was the only apartment available. When my furniture was off loaded at storage, six kitchen chairs were piled on top of my white leather sofa, when there was ample room to put the chairs elsewhere. But this is where the super glue comes in. A box was slammed down on my antique cedar chest breaking off a decorative piece and gobs of super glue was slathered on to try and fix it. Very crummy. Very sloppy.

I am sooo happy I did because there were already too many other things to do as I purchased a new home. Brian and Jason showed up on time, were personable, professional, careful with everything and did a wonderful job! Some of the packing, especially for fragile things were better than I would have done. They were also careful with moving my furniture - no casualties. Thank you, Aloha Movers!

+ -1 moreWe had to move into our new house 2 days after moving out of the old house. The compay agree to keep our stuff in their trailer free for 2 nights. It is a closed trailer and I do feel my stuff were kept safe.The moving was smooth, the staffs were friendly and good on disaseemble the reassembe the furnatures. Many of our furnatures have big glasses, they were careful on handling the TV and those glasses. No damage was made. The day of moving, I had to delay for 1 hour, the owner isn't very happy but did agree, the team got there ontime and wait infront of the house. I appreciae for that.
Description of Work: Moving a 2 floor house within 20 miles. We don't have many large furnatures, but do have lots of boxes.

They were on time, and worked hard and with good humor, despite the fact that they were not able to pack and move all of our household goods on the first scheduled day, because they ran out of time and space in the moving van. They returned the next week, and finished moving the remaining items with the same care as with the first load. We would definitely recommend them to anyone in Austin.
Description of Work: The person I talked to before the move was very helpful, and was able to schedule our move right away. We were moving from a small house into a slightly larger house in the same neighborhood. The movers, John and Jeremy, were polite and professional, and very careful with everything they moved. They were cheerful about tackling even heavy and difficult to move items, and tried to accommodate any special requests that we made.

Jeremy and Jason were there on time, and were very professional. There were couple small issues with the move such as little scratch to the wall, but they were pretty quick at resolving it and we are very with the result. We would definitely use them again!

+ -1 moreOur experience with the team from Mustang Movers was great. They arrived promptly and worked efficiently and hard. They were very courteous and accommodating. Jeremy, Miguel, Carlos and Jason all went above and beyond to complete the job. After a long day of loading all of our belongings, the team discovered they were unable to get their trucks up a sizable hill to our home. They had to manually carry or use a dolly for each and every item. It was actually excruciating to watch them because we knew what hard work it was. They worked with good humor despite the tough conditions. At the end of a very long day, we felt like we knew all of them pretty well. Great guys who worked extraordinarily h****** our behalf. They offered great solutions to issues we encountered and good recommendations on furniture placement and the like. Surprisingly, they also encouraged us to make sure we were happy with furniture placement rather than just setting it down and considering it done. They really wanted to make sure we were happy. I would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to others.
Description of Work: We were moving from a 2,000 square foot home where we had two separate storage sheds. Needless to say, we had a lot of stuff. Items included heavy furniture, fragile items packed in boxes, tons of plants and planters, antiques, various outdoor/landscaping equipment, large children's toys and appliances.

+ -1 moreThey arrived on time and started moving boxes. Toward the end they told us there was no more room in the truck and refused to come back and get the rest of the stuff. So we had to do it ourselves. 4 carloads of stuff and 5 hours later we were finally done. It sort of defeated the point of hiring movers when you have to spend that much time doing it yourself. When I called to complain, the manager never apologized for his workers inability to complete the job or my loss of time. He actually accused me of lying about the situation (which I found shocking). There are a lot of moving companies out there that are better and cheaper than apple. I just don't see a reason to waste my time on them in the future.
Description of Work: They moved about 70% of our household to a new house.

+ 0 moreMatt P. and D.J. moved me from one 2nd-floor apartment to another, and they did an AMAZING job. I put this in the "Piano Moving" category as well as "Moving" because I have a desk that used to be a rectangular grand piano, with 35-lb. carved rosewood legs [those come off] and a hinged lid. The guys managed to move this monstrosity down and up the stairs [the new apt. has a turn in the stairs, no less] with no damage to the wood and in record time. I'm having to call them back to the old place because I didn't have them move clothing or kitchen stuff [no appliances] and I need to get out of there before my lease is up; it'll be extra cost but SO worth it to me. D.J. and Matt were professional but friendly and I'm really glad I found Mustang through Angie's List! The move wasn't cheap but I felt confident about the guys and their work, and I wasn't disappointed.
Description of Work: Moved me from one apartment to another -- both 2nd-floor units. They'll be coming back this weekend to pack and move clothes and kitchen stuff I hadn't managed to pack myself.

+ -1 moreThey charged $100. He gave me pretty much a standard rate. They were prompt. I did not like that the service guy he sent did not speak much English and it was a little hard to communicate with him and I think if I had had a large job, it might have been a problem. Everything went well and they moved everything fine, but it was a little hard to communicate. Otherwise, I thought they did exactly what I needed them to do.

+ 1 moreEverything went very smoothly. The hardest part was to judge how much time and how many boxes will be needed. Particularly if we planned on doing some things ourself. However, the survey done before was done very professionally and informed us of our options. The packers were doing a very good job. As we moved stuff into storage, some furniture were being wrapped at the warehouse and we did not see how this was done, but it was explained how it was done. We also had one piano moved what was no problem. We have not seen the storage facility, but we trust that our things are in good hands. We appreciated that we got the storage provided by Mustang Movers, as the storage place we wanted to use was already full. We also appreciated that we could use some things until we left the house and the Movers came back for the final pick up then.
Description of Work: The content of our house was packed and moved into storage. Some boxes were self packed.

+ 0 morelDid an Amazing job packing in pods in the most efficient way as to get the most in each. I had them use old blankets and such between some of the furniture for storage. They stored some things in our garage which wouldn't fit in the pods. They were super to work with, very professional, on time, and both experiences, the loading of the pods, and the unloading went smoothly. I would definately use them again.
Description of Work: I was remodeling and had to empty the first floor or our home. I rented two pods from another company which I stored in my driveway. Mustang Movers moved all furniture and boxes into the pods and unloaded them later.

Description of Work: Never get an estimate for your job over the phone! Always have the estimator come to the site to go over the items to be moved. I described my entertainment center to the estimator emphasizing that it was tall and heavy. Nothing was said about an extra charge for moving it. However, $40.00 was attached to my bill without telling me. Also I missed a few items due to not doing a walk-thru with the estimator. They charged me $3.50 each for 2 small end tables, $3.00 for each dining room chair I inadvertently omitted, etc. I ended up with $101.00 in additional charges. This company will give you a low estimate in order to get the job and then nickel and dime you so you end up with a higher price. The two men who moved us--Jeremy and Jason--did a very good job. They were on time, careful with my things, and nice to deal with. Due to the extra charges, especially the one tacked on at the end, I will not recommend this company. I trusted them due to the reviews on Angie's List. I should have gone with the other mover from whom I got an on-site estimate. I've learned another lesson the hard way!

Description of Work: Called let Chris know I was a angies list customer. I have a 12 mile move from point A to B and they wanted $1250 bucks for this move. I feel this is a very high price for booking about a month out and not having a Fridge , washer , dryer, dinner table, or living room set to move. Just 4 bedrooms and boxes and desk and chairs. I have moved a lot over the last few years and have paid more like 500. Chris was great and helpful, just not low enough to earn my business. Thanks for trying.

+ 0 moreThis was a terrible experience from start to finish. I used Mustang twice before, had referred them to friends, and had written positive reviews. Unfortunately I discovered belatedly they are now under new ownership and management, and their commitment to customer service and quality is lacking. My first complaint is the amount of time it took their movers to complete the move. They sent only 2 men and it took nearly from dawn to dusk. They complained about the stairs at my old house but since they had moved items to and from that location 2 times before, their complaints and lack of foresight were absurd. I was hit with enormous stairs charges, which were quite unexpected since the charges weren't an issue in either of my prior moves. Finally, they lost a box of china that we had stored with them and as of this writing they have not responded to this matter.
Description of Work: We moved houses within the city of Austin. In addition, they delivered items they had stored for us at their climate controlled facility to our new house.

+ -1 moreWell, I first contacted Mustang Movers on Angie's List and they directed me to Apple Moving. I worked with John Racine who came out and performed an estimate. After agreeing, we scheduled the packing dates and moving dates. John did all the paperwork and it went smoothly. The packers showed up on the requested day and did an outstanding job of packing. The movers (which were National Van Lines) showed up on the requested date and loaded all the contents. The packed items arrived in Pittsburgh in good condition within 4 days. The moving folks that unloaded the items were professional and extremely helpful. I have only great things to say about all the components of this move and would hope that all moves go as easily.

+ -1 moreI spoke with the owner of the company, who was great, but I do not know if he is aware of how is movers are doing things. They picked up my furniture from my one bedroom apartment. They had to go down stairs while they were moving. They dropped my tool box and the top was broken. They unloaded my items and only one guy was unloading. I had expensive furniture and cabinets that had damage on it when it was unloaded. The back of my TV was damaged, while my items were being moved in route. I paid $1,100, when the original estimate was $1,000. They added 100 to my cost. They did not wrap my furniture or TV, like they told me they would. They only sent one person up to do the entire loading process. They were on-time to load and unload. I did not feel that they were concerned with protecting my items, while moving.
