Description of Work: We had a very complicated move of two homes with part going to Livingston Tx and then two moves to the same home. John gave an estimate on both houses that were excellent bids. They went beyond the call of duty moving some pieces of furniture for my mom to help her. All furniture was well protected.

It went great. I got all the big furnature ready before the movers arrived. All the clutter was gone when they arrived. Sean & Jeromie showed up on time. They wasted no motion in loading all my big stuff on their truck and driving it over to Round Rock and placing it where I wanted in my new house. The entire move took less than two hours including the 15 mile drive! They were careful, quick and courteous. My wife said it was the best $180 we ever spent. I highly recommend them.

Since we were planning a move for the first time since 1992, my wife & I decided to join Angie's List to look for movers and other local services we'd need. We also checked Better Business Bureau ratings and came up with a short list of three movers to bid our job. While all the movers were on-time to quote our job, and seemed courteous and professional, Otis at Aloha Moving had an especially strong case to make - that in the 7 years Aloha has been moving, they're never had a single complaint filed against them. Now that our local move is complete I can see why they only have satisfied customers. Our movers were John and Roy - two young men who could not possibly have been more prompt, courteous, and hard-working. We received a call almost an hour before their expected arrival to let us know they were heading over with their 26-foot truck, and they arrived at our old house just ahead of schedule. It's a rare thing when you meet newly-hired service professionals and have an immediate first impression that you're dealing with smart, competent, hard-working folks who care about what they do. Well, that's John & Ray in a nutshell - smart, competent, hard-working, and they seem to really enjoy & care about their work. We were paying an hourly rate, and even though they could have "put the brakes on", these gents worked HARD. Never rushed, always careful, steady and professional all the way. Every single piece of furniture made with wood or glass was first wrapped in moving blankets, then stretch-wrapped with what looks like a big ol' roll of Saran Wrap. You might think that would take a lot of extra time, but maybe it was an extra couple of minutes to protect our most valuable pieces, and well worth it. The unload was quicker than the loading process, and John & Roy were always cheerful & happy to place our stuff exactly where we wanted it. I don't want to share the exact details of how much they beat the flat-rate quote that Otis had originally given us since part of the lower cost was because we had moved many boxes ourselves between the quote day and moving day, I will say my wife & I were tickled pink with the final price at the end of the day. Nothing, not a single piece of furniture in our 5-bedroom home, was dinged or damaged in any way. Our moving day was a painless and relatively inexpensive process - what more could you ask? The personnel emptied a long term storage unit, delivered, unloaded, and arranged the contents in my garage. They were personable, professional, and very responsive to any requests or suggestions. All this was done in miserable heat and humidity. I will definitely use them again for both large and small moves.

I decided to try Angie's List after using the Yellow Pages "Call-and-Pray" approach for dozens of moves before and after having mixed results with several movers. This was my test. It wasn't a terribly big job, but because I was moving out of two places (an office and a residence) on the same day - one of which was moving across the state - there were some complicated logistics involved. Talked to Nicole and had a quote and date set by the next morning for the coming weekend. Two different crews showed up at the appointed time and we basically had everything local finished by lunch. The office went out to far West Texas, and that portion was completed without a hitch by 2 in the afternoon. I was hesitant about paying for a review site, but I must admit, the quote I received from Mustang was not only competitive, it actually saved me money and much more than the cost of Angie's List. Furthermore, the quality and service of the moves were outstanding, saving me much more than money in the aggravation category. I'm sold on both Mustang and Angie's.

I scheduled a move of furniture from a storage unit to an apartment. The appointment was for noon on the specified date. I took the day off from work to meet the movers and get settled into the apartment. At approx. 10 minutes after 1:00, I got a call from the mover stating that their earlier appointment would take SEVERAL HOURS longer.
Description of Work: The movers failed to show for over an hour after appointed time. Then called to say they would be several hours longer. I cancelled with them.

Well when I heard about this move today I was planning on calling you and apologizing for any inconvenience this situation that occurred and offer you a gift card as our apologies but you didn't give the office ample time to make the situation right as possible. There are 2 variables that happened in your moving situation with us yesterday. 1) Weather. Unfortunately we haven't figured out how to control weather and the delay it creates with us every time it rains. It would have been nice if you would have factored that in not only yesterday but also in your complaint. I also want to clarify we never said we would not show up. In fact the movers kept in contact with you multiple times of the day with notification that we were going to be running late. 2) I know you didn't post this in the comments however I was able to listen to your message and understand you were unable to get in contact with the office yesterday. That would be because we were moving the office, so no phones or DSL at all. We actually just got our communications all working this morning around 11:00 (Feb 2, 2010). I would have been more sympathetic with your problems but I cant help or try to fix something that isn't willing to communicate with us first before putting such an ugly post about us. Obviously based on the reputation we are not known for what you complained about nor did you even give us the chance to prove how good the "moving service" would have been. But maybe better luck next time with the weather?! Sorry for running late however. Hope that can satisfy the situation? I just sometimes don't know how or what to say. Excellent! The company was prompt to respond to my request for a quote, offered boxes for free use if returned when done (w/deposit). Responded promptly to phone/email requests for details/clarifications before move. Movers arrived on time and completed move almost to the minute in estimated time (10 hours). Move-out house had a VERY steep long driveway and they still managed to get their truck up the drive and down again (three times!). Very friendly yet professional movers. Very fair price.

My experience with them was very good. The owner, who answered the phone, was very polite. They handled the work very well. They called a day before they came to confirm, and on the day when they moved, they arrived on time. They were very efficient and courteous. The two people that came by to help me move were Ryan and Craig, and they were really helpful to me. The price was not bad - there may be cheaper places but the quality may not be good. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.

I contacted Aloha because of the many recommendations from Angie's List subscribers. Our moved turned out to be more complex than I first invisioned. From the moment I contacted them through the end of the move, the Aloha staff was flexible and very professional. The actual movers were John and Craig, and they made the move a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommned them to friends and family.

Mustang Moving was the only company that would come out to both my apartment and storage unit (an additional 20 minute drive) to give me an accurate estimate - other companies would only do so over the phone. The 2-man crew arrived to the job on time. They were courteous and personable and didn't seem to mind me "supervising" the move. Great care was given to all items and nothing was damaged in the move. The job was finished mid-afternoon, which included placing furniture in its respective location either on the 1st or 2nd floor. I look forward to utilizing their services in the future. The best experience I have ever had with a moving company!

It could not have gone better. Moving is stressful and Jason and Lewis did everything they could to make the move go smoothly. They were on time and got right to work. They were very professional. We made some last minute changes and they were very accomodating. I would definitely use them again and I highly recommend them if you need movers.

Aloha sent two movers on an hourly rate. Once they saw what I had in the storage locker they realized that trying to get it all into their truck for one trip would take longer than making two, and the truck may not be big enough for all the bulky items to fit. Making two trips was pretty quick and loading at the storage locker was a lot quicker than at the apartment when they were trying to pack everything in tightly to optimize use of the space. They kept unloading boxes and furniture while I was unwrapping other furniture before putting it on the new hardwood floors so they were working constantly. Some boxes ended up in the wrong rooms, but all the furniture ended up where it needed to be.
Description of Work: Moved from Cedar Park to Round Rock. Had an apartment and a 10x20 storage locker in Cedar Park going to a house in Round Rock. Had to load the apartment into the truck, go to the storage locker, load most of what was there while leaving behind some of the furniture from the apartment that wasn't going to the new house.

My parents are elderly and they are 75 and 80 years old. They were on time and showed up with 2 trucks. They were respectful and worked quickly. I did not see them ever take a break until the job was done. They stuck to their estimate and provided an outstanding service the whole way. They packed in the morning and arrived in the new home probably around 5 in the afternoon and unpacked everything and brought everything into the designated rooms. I know they were tired but they showed good attitude. Their pricing was quite reasonable and it was in line with everyone else.
Description of Work: They helped me move my parents who were about two and a half hours away into Georgetown Texas.

Aloha sent three packers, who were very efficient. They were accommodating and asked enough questions to get everything labeled as needed. The next day, two of the packers, Ryan and Art, moved us to our new place. They were very quick and careful. As we were paying by the hour, we asked them to move some things around that weren't being moved, and they were happy to help. The experience was so much more positive than with other moving companies I have used in the past (who would refuse to move certain items and would move so slow), both hourly movers and price per item movers. They even completed the move in a couple of hours less than they estimated! Another big plus with Aloha, is they don't try to sell you boxes. They lend you boxes, and you get your deposit back upon their return. We didn't have to worry about supplies at all! Plus, this just seems like the green way to run a moving company. We will be moving again this year, and we will definitely be calling Aloha!

Otis was responsive in submitting the bid and easy to work with when I needed to reschedule the move multiple times due to the builder moving the closing date. A snowstorm was forecast for the day of the move, and Otis proactively contacted me to discuss a plan B in case the roads were bad, which turned out not to be necessary. The crew called to tell me when they were enroute, and arrived on time. John, Jason, and Lewis were a great crew: personable and professional. They came well equipped and took great care not to damage our belongings and houses. Everything came through in great shape. The best moving experience we have had out of about 10 major moves over the years. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Loaded all our furniture and belongings from our old house in Austin, transported to Round Rock on their truck, unloaded and placed items where requested in the new house. Disassembled and reassembled two beds, a large table top from its base, and appliances as necessary. Also unloaded some additional furniture I brought in on a separate truck from out of state.

These were two very full days and busy days. We had to leave the rented home during some of the packing to help with construction issues at the new home, but the movers continued steadily. They worked steadily and efficiently on both days. No furniture was damaged and nothing was broken during all the loading and unloading. They worked continuously yet patiently as we went through the storage unit to remove items to be moved. I appreciated this and their efforts.
Description of Work: The service was for two days. Three men came the first day to do all the wrapping, packing, and boxing. There was a slight mixup on the time of arrival, but all went well. The second day was for the actual move which included moving everything out of our rented home, moving belongings from a storage unit, and picking up a desk and chest from another close location. All was taken to our new home.

The moving day went well - crew arrived on time, seemed to be careful with our stuff, etc. However they did really rush us, even though we were paying by the project instead of by the hour, so that we had to go back to the old house a number of times the following week to get more of our things. We hired movers on a per-project basis so that we WOULDN'T have to deal with moving our things. Then our new house suffered a bit of damage. The movers knocked into one of the wall sconces when they were taking a mattress upstairs. It broke the sconce away from the wallboard. We understand accidents happen, so we just put in a claim and worked with this provider to schedule time for a drywall repair company to come fix it. It is now Dec. 1 and the sconce is still not repaired. There have been numerous scheduling mishaps on the part of Mustang Moving. Our patience with this admittedly rather minor repair issue is running out.

It's an odd problem to us when we hear the guys are going to fast. But it sounds like they weren't reckless with your belongings. However, I will request them to tone it down. As far as the scone, I recall the scone was fixed prior to this posting. We do have a claims process and it isn't set up for instant fixing. Although if we did do it that way the scone may have not been fixed properly. We do take care of any damages that happen and we do it in the allotted time with proper fixes. As far as price, you were bid at 577, but only paid 511 day of the move, we had credited back what we didn't take. Thanks you for using our services and hopefully you will consider us again in the future.

John showed up on time for the estimate and we went through room by room showing him what Mustang would move and what I would move. On Sunday, November 22, Louis Serrano showed up before he was scheduled (always a good thing) and he and his crew moved out everything very quickly and efficiently. The trip to our new home was 10 miles and everything arrived safely and once again they moved everything into our new home quickly and no problems. They placed the furniture exactly where my wife asked them to. If I was moving again, which I'm not planning to do, I would definitely use Mustang Moving again.
Description of Work: Moved my entire house from bedrooms to dining rooms and I couldn't be happier with the service and professionalism.

I called Nicole for an estimate. She was able to provide one immediately over the phone. I called her with additions during the week, and she sent me a new invoice the same day. On moving day, my move time was at 8:00. At 8:30 I called and learned that that meant an arrival time of 8:30-9:00. When the movers arrived, one went over the list of items with me, saw the items, and went over any changes.The other went right to work. They showed me pieces of furniture that were already damaged on the way out to the truck. They seemed to enjoy their work. When they arrived at the new house, they had trouble backing their truck and trailer into the driveway. They tried several times, and in the attempt, they drove repeatedly into the neighbor's yard across from our driveway. They did not tell us or the neighbor that they had driven at least 8' into the neighbor's yard, but my husband saw them do so from the house. They unloaded quickly and put the furniture where we requested. A day or two later, my neighbor asked me if I knew who had driven into his yard. I contacted Mustang Moving, and Nicole told me that it is common for them to drive into other people's yard in order to get into a driveway. Austin has small streets, she said. The drivers are told to watch out for sprinkler heads only. I asked why the movers did not park on the side of the street. She said backing into the driveway at my house saved them an hour to an hour and a half unloading time. She did not apologize but said that they would take care of things. Someone from Mustang Moving called my neighbor that day, and that night John and Nicole came to see the damage with flashlights. They said they would get it taken care of. That Friday I called my neighbor, and he said had not heard what the moving company would do. I called John on the 15th and he asked for the name of my landscaping company. I gave him the contact information. He said I would hear from him by the 18th at the latest. He did not call. On the 19th I called and he apologized. He said it had slipped his mind. He said the driver was going to put dirt in the yard on his day off, but signals got crossed and he did not. John then said that his guys would take care of the yard this weekend- by Monday at the latest. They did not. I called John on the 24th and he said that it would be taken care of tomorrow. He said if by some chance the yard was not taken care of on the 24th, he would call my landscaping company. I gave him their information once more. He said he did not want to take care of the yard personally because he felt he would make the yard worse. John said this experience should not reflect on Mustang Moving. Rather, it was the fault of the guys who did not show up to take care of my neighbor's yard.

I apologize you feel your services were not what you had expected compared to others. I would however like to address some concerns you have that are misleading. This is to include future clients but also other people who are trying to move and use this industry. With us in the industry daily and this being our careers, not only the office, but the guys, anyone who is interested in moving has to understand that we know what we are doing. It seemed you have very minimal faith in our procedures and wouldn’t give us ample time to complete what we needed to fix prior to your complaint on Angie's List. It also seemed that the overall rating the move was no issues at all. I am confused because your rating of the move was horrible, yet nothing went wrong on the move itself. Your furniture shipped and arrived in a fashionable order. It almost sounds like the only problem was with the office, now what the movers did "outside" of moving the furniture we confirmed to take care of it and we did. To move on to your complaints: 1) We have always said this since we have moved our office to South Austin; North/Central Austin is a 8:30-9:00 arrival time, South Austin is a 8:00-8:30 arrival time. The first job of the day will always state on the contract 8:00 (because you are the first time slot). As far as your drop off location, the driver knew he should have not jumped the curb or go into another yard that far in. He was trying to save 30’ since you had a corner circle drive. Yet he was unaware that any damage was left on the grass at the time of the job. To sum up with the rest of what you said this is the law for damages: TXDOT “You (customer) must insure that your mover or his agent receives your claim within 90 days or delivery of the shipment….Your mover must contact you within 20 days (excluding Sundays and holidays) of receipt of your written claim. BUT we did the right thing and had it fixed promptly. Plus, we had told you after we had seen the damage that we would handle it from there, which we had already been communicating with the neighbor at that point. I think that this is where you got confused on what was going on at that point with the yard. John is correct about him not fixing the yard, instead of going a cheap route we had sent out a professional to do the job. Overall it seems the job was completed with no flaws excluding the yard that was damaged grass that we had fixed. And I hope future clients see this as the rules of what movers have to follow by law and see how the movers were still great at their job in this situation.

Great! We have moved many times, often coast to coast, with alot of different moving companies. These guys simply amazed me. We have never had a better move and we definitely would use them again and definitely would recommend them. And, their very reasonable estimate was exactly what we they charged after the move. They are excellent!!!
Description of Work: They moved all the furniture and many other items from our 2 story 3300 sq ft home to our new 2 story home.
