Description of Work: The owner was very nice and offered to refund my money without hesitation. Unfortunately the individual who came to my apartment to connect my gas dryer and my washing machine tried to convince me that my building's connections were obsolete and so it would be against the city code for him to do the gas connection. Even still, he charged me for the visit. When another provider was able to make the gas connection to my dryer without a hitch, I called the owner of Allstate to tell him what happened. He was very professional and apologetic. I'm sure they do fine work normally. The person who stopped by my place was probably just inexperienced or having a bad day.

Description of Work: The mystery water issue that City of Austin couldn't explain was solved by Allstate. They are my Go-To-Plumber.

Description of Work: We have two 40-gallon water heaters in the attic. They serve different sides of the house. The one that went out covers the clothes- and dishwashers. Allstate had installed them 10 years ago, and I was fearing the worst. |I called Monday afternoon, but couldn't get scheduled until first thing Wednesday morning, as they don't send their guys up into attics except early in the mornings - a good policy, I think. |Our service person, Randy, arrive right on the dot at 8 AM. He found the tank in good order, but the pilot had gone out. He re-started the heater, and brought it up to temperature gradually so he could see the heater cycling before calling it good. We also had a good discussion of the possibility of replacing the tanks with a tankless system, when the tanks eventually fail. This was very helpful to have this information before the time of actual need. A very professionally done service visit! Thanks!

Description of Work: Installed reverse osmosis filters.

Description of Work: My water heater stopped working after only a year. We called the original provider, Strand Brothers, and they told us it would be a week before the could come out. Apparently they should be called "Stranded Brothers" because that's how they left me. We called Allstate who came out immediately, fixed the problem, and only charged us for labor since the part was under warranty. They did a great job and really came through for us. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Fixed inop pilot light for water heater. Caused by vent damage from recent roof replacement. Service man appeared per appointment time. Fixed problem. Nice write-up of work done on invoice. I use these guys all the time. They are really good.

Description of Work: Uncovered the water mains, fitted them with boxes, installed Y-pipes and pressure regulators. The work was performed by Joel Lara who did an excellent job and was very professional.

Description of Work: We had a new disposal installed. It took about 30 minutes. Then he helped with other various plumbing issues to finish the hour. I have used them before and have always thought they were professional and priced fairly.

Description of Work: Replaced both hot and cold water stems. Plumber was very efficient and communicative. He helped me understand the problem. He also took off the shower head, and got that piece ready for a replacement which I purchased on my own.

Description of Work: They came out over Thanksgiving to auger and clear a toilet. They came the same day that I called and got the job done. It was expensive, but given that we had houseguests for the holiday and Allstate completed the work in a professional and timely manner, I was elated. It could have completely ruined the holiday if it had not gone well. Allstate has done work for us previously, also timely and professionally.

Description of Work: Replaced outdoor faucets (I provided, as I wanted to use special ones) and repaired leak caused by old pipe contact. Punctual, friendly, and did not appear to be out to scam/add on once they got started. I've used for other projects and they have always been the same.

Description of Work: Replaced two water shut-off valves under the kitchen sink and installed a new dishwasher.
