A bit late but very efficient once there and made short work of replacing our water heater that had been installed when the house was built. The package deal was very reasonable (they supply the water heater), though they were nice enough to give me the option to purchase a new water heater myself first; I could have easily exceeded the cost of labor and the replacement if I'd bought one myself, I'm glad I didn't go that route. Overall a good experience.

We had a great experience. They were really busy due to the cold weather that caused many frozen pipes in the Austin area. These guys showed up on time and quickly replaced the pipe on a Sunday afternoon.

I was not pleased with Allstate and would not use them again. We called them out to fix a leak under the sink and chose them because the service call price would be applied to the overall price. The leak was fixed but after the tech left we noticed we had no hot water. We called back and got a 12-5 time window. The tech showed up at a quarter to 6 and didn?t fix the problem because he needed a part and the store was closed at 5. (Last I checked Home Depot doesn?t close at 5 and is right down the street.) Another call to Allstate and we were given a narrower window of 10-12 to fix the problem which was fixed on the third visit. The staff was nice and we were not charged for subsequent visits. We would not use Allstate again as we ended up with more problems after calling them out to fix something simple. Also when they were called out the first time we were not a priority. They showed up 45 minutes after our time window had ended. Seeing as how it was a problem on their end that they were called out in the first place I don't think we should have been so inconvenienced.
Description of Work: We called Allstate because we had a leak under the sink. They had to be called out two more times to fix a hot water problem that occured after the leak was fixed.

When I called to report the busted pipe they were not able to send someone immediately, but advised how to turn off the water at the street and scheduled someone to come repair the broken pipe on Sunday. They were totally overwhelmed with the number of calls they received, but got someone out as soon as they could. The guys who came out were very professional and knew what they were doing. This is the third time I have used Allstate, and they have always done an excellent job.

Technician was very pleasant and professional. He made sure I understood what he was going to do before getting started. He worked very efficiently and I felt like he was able to do a lot of work while he was there. Since they charge hourly, it is nice to know they work hard while they are on the clock. I felt like the amount charged was fair for the amount of work done.

I had a toilet with a suspected leak between the toilet and the drain. Called All State and Plumbing and set an appointment with receptionist for a couple of days later (first chance for someone to be at home to meet the plumber). I actually got a call the day from company offering to come earlier, but we were not available. Jason arrived on time and first verified my suspicion and showed me the cause of the problem. He replaced the plasticine (?) seal ring and reset and caulked the toilet and cleaned up, all in 30 minutes. Jason was great, plus I got an Angie's list discount. Overall, great service and great price.

I needed one of my hot water heaters replaced. I have a two story home and this was the one that was placed at the back end of attic so they needed to build a walk way so that the inspector can get to it. They came a month before to assist with a small leak that I thought could be coming from the hot water heater. They were able to determine that it was in fact my hot water heater and fixed it temporary while I made the decision on what to do since this is a expensive problem to have. After a month, I decided to call and have them replace my 40 gallon with a 50 gallon. I called them on a Wednesday and able to get them to come out on Friday. To take out the old and put in a new was a heavy job since they had to go down two sets of stairs along with getting it out of an attic. I had no idea how bad it was till they took it out and now I have hot water that I never knew could get that hot? Great job!

I have had another plumbing problem since, not on the items this plumber corrected, but I won't call this company again.
Description of Work: Going by the superb reviews of this company, I made an appointment the Thursday before he came for the first thing Monday morning, Oct. 19th. The receptionist was gracious and knowledgeable. I felt I'd get good, prompt service. Instead, the young man arrived an hour after expected. I had called the office and the same receptionist assured me she was just about to call me and that the plumber was late due to needing to pick up some supplies at some warehouse. The young man, whom I suspect was hung over, seemed baffled as to how to clean the hot water line. He eventually figured out how to do so. He re-sealed the loose toilet and corrected the dishwasher's not draining. His charge included a travel time of fifteen minutes, which is advertised as being free in this Angie's List ad.

They did exactly what we asked them to do. Our technician was Joel. He was courteous and hard working. Everything was pretty good. We had Joel for follow up when we actually needed him to put the fixtures back on the tub because we found out that we couldn't do some things that we had wanted to do. He also looked at a toilet that appeared to be leaking. Their pricing seemed comparable to other places that we talked to. When we called back, we actually asked for Joel because he had done such a good job.
Description of Work: We used Allstate Plumbing about a week ago to remove the fixtures from one of our bathrooms and all of our sinks. They also removed and replaced a toilet.

Slow drain cleaning went fine, except the overflow drain gasket was old/rotted and broke when the serviceman removed it - gave costly estimate for repairs, so elected not to complete that project at the time. Sewer line was rootered because of water coming out of cleanout near our house - serviceman advised us there were roots in the pipe but that it was no longer clogged. This cost us about $220.00. The next evening, while running the washing machine, our downstairs toilet overflowed - apparently the clogged sewer line was not unclogged, but because the serviceman had closed the cleanout pipe, the washing machine water had nowhere to go. We were now very unhappy to have a problem that did not exist before we called Allstate. When we called Allstate and were connected with the after-hours serviceman, he advised us that he was on a property management call (I got the impression that it was not an emergency, and possibly not even an Allstate call - suspected from his responses it was a side-job.) He stated that he would not be available until very late, if at all, but that he would call either way to let me know if he would be coming. He was very unsympathetic to the fact that we had 2 inches of water in our bathroom, and replied that his shop-vac was broken anyway so he wouldn't be able to help clean it up even if he came by. Anyhow, the after-hours serviceman never called back that night, so I contacted Allstate again the next morning during business hours. A different serviceman was sent out, who stated that the first person did not rooter far enough down the pipe, but that he had now taken care of the problem. We were not charged anything for this visit. Several days later, my neighbor pointed out that the second sewer line cleanout (near her yard) was uncovered and was spewing sewage into her yard - clearly, the second serviceman had left it open and had not resolved the problem, as it was still overflowing. I contacted Allstate again, who sent out the same serviceman as the first visit. This serviceman rootered from the second cleanout, told me I needed to contact the City of Austin about a faulty connection to the city line, and then charged me $98.00 because he said none of their work thus far was warranteed because of the roots he'd seen in the line the first day. I then called the City of Austin, who came out very promptly and ran a camera down the line, and informed me that the problem remained on our end of the sewer line (ie. not something the city is responsible for.) For now, the line seems to be draining, but ultimately we will likely have to repair some of our underground sewer lines due to root damage if the clogging recurs. Our primary dissatisfactions with Allstate have mainly to do with our belief that they should have rootered the whole sewer line and adequately checked the drainage the first time they came out, their lack of concern and timely response to the flooding that occurred after their first visit, and their prices.
Description of Work: Cleaned out one slow tub drain, and rootered the sewer line. After they became aware of the initial report we submitted to Angie's List, one of the Allstate Plumbing business owners contacted us personally. He agreed that his company had failed us on several counts, offered to refund our bill, and in fact came to our home personally to do so. He also sent out another plumber to run a camera down our sewer line to document what was actually going on, and to make recommendations for what might be necessary to care for that line in the future. I am still just a little leery of calling them out in the future, because of our initial difficulties, but feel that the reparations that were made this time showed a genuine concern for their quality of business and customer satisfaction. I suspect our negative experience probably was an atypical one."

The job went very well. The problem was fixed and we got good information on future replacement of aging water heater.
Description of Work: We were getting very low water pressure in the tub of our Master Bath. The pressure was fine in the 2 sinks and the shower in the same bathroom. Allstate scheduled repair within a couple of days of my phone call and they came when scheduled. The repair person took apart the faucet and cleaned out some debris that had collected. He also checked the hot water heater, turned up the heat and told us that since it is 12 years old it is probably not as efficient as it once was and we might want to consider replacing it. The charge was the $98 per visit (as quoted on the phone) minus a $20 discount for Angie's List referral. We were very satisfied with their prompt, courteous service and would call them again for future plumbing problems.

A flex hose under our laundry room sink ruptured. I called shortly after they opened at 8:00 and the service man (Dave) was here at 9:45 (right on time). It was great to have an exact time rather than a 4 hour window. He made the repair and checked all the other water hoses and the water pressure to make sure there wasn't a systemic problem. He was very fast and courteous. Great job!

It all started with a water faucet that would not shut off. Then, when trying to turn off the main to our home, we noticed that the main was leaking as well. Replaced what was necessary with better parts than were there before. Was very courteous, professional and patient with my questions.

Although he had to come back a second time, the response on both occasions was excellent. I also appreciated being able to talk to a person when I called rather than an answering machine. Got a discount on the first trip and a price break on labor on the second. Also replaced defective valve with one that I had bought at Home Depot. Great service at a very reasonable price. I have no problem recommending this company to anyone. They've got a great business.
Description of Work: Repaired connection from hot water inlet valve to dishwasher. There was also a very small leak where the hot water inlet line mates to the valve that we didn't identify until after Dave had left so we had to ask him to come back the next day.
