I hadn't planned to re-do the guest bath when we were getting new floors, but it made sense because everything was already removed. They still worked us in for a last minute project. And after a small leak was discovered from a cracked pipe, Allstate did come promptly and fixed it at no charge. I probably could have found someone cheaper, but they were timely, did a good job and had a nice technician. I would use them again.
Description of Work: We were having new floors installed so the guest bathroom sink was being removed when it was discovered a valve was broken so water was leaking. The first call was an emergency visit. Then Allstate returned to install a new toilet and sink in the guest bath.

BJ is very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and does quality work. He is very good about answering all my questions and allowing me to learn what was going on along the way. The initial install was to run the PVC pipes up through the attic from the left side of the house to the right side so the filters can be located in the garage. When BJ discovered that the main water pipe coming into the house was not on the left side, he immediately called the main office to find out where their water meter analysis was. BJ continued to do other work waiting for Chris to come over with the meter. They were so good about taking a step by step process on finding out where the main water line was coming in. I was actually thrilled that the line came in right under the water heater which made the whole install better. The whole install took two appointments because of the changes that took place and additional parts needed to be purchased. BJ also broke a cap on one of the pre-filters from Crystal Quest. I was impressed on he handled the situation with me. I would rate him an A+ on integrity. Anyways, we scheduled another appointment for one week later. BJ was very punctual and completed the job. He made everything look very professional. Like I said above, he did an AWESOME job.
Description of Work: BJ installed a water filter system I purchased from Crystal Quest. There were two tanks (one for chlorine and heavy metals and the other one is for fluoride). I do not have existing water filter loop in the garage so we had to figure out where the main water line was coming into the house. My main water meter is on the left side of the house and my garage and hot water heater is on the right side of the house. The main water entry analysis was done by another plumbing company. After cutting into the sheet rock, it turns out that their analysis was incorrect. BJ called Chris, the owner, who had the meter. Chris was near by so he came over with the meter. They were able to locate the correct location pretty quickly. It turns that that it was right under the hot water heater in the garage. This was perfect because I wanted the filters to be installed in the garage versus outside. BJ did an AWESOME job installing the system after the initial surprise.

I was very impressed with the level of service to make things right, even though they did not make the errors. I will definitely have them back when I remodel my bathroom. One of the best experiences I have ever had. You get what you pay for.
Description of Work: We had to have the T&P relief valve drain line lowered on our gas water heater. It had not been installed correctly with the previous home owner, and our home inspector missed it. We had a kitchen sink, including faucet, installed. We had a new dishwasher and disposal put in. All these items I purchased. Carl came out and gave us an estimate. We agreed to the estimate and they came out the following day. As these things often happen, the plumbing under the sink was not installed properly, and the man from Allstate took the time to fix the plumbing so the dishwasher and disposal would work properly. He also had to wrestle with the dishwasher as it did not want to fit. There was no additional charge.

I had a patch of the fascia under the stone masonry of the house that looked wet. This was in the area where there is a bathtub on the inside of the house. I tried turning off all the water use and watched the meter and it didn't move, so it didn't seem to be a plumbing leak. It didn't change whether we ran water for the tub, shower or outside hose. The plumber tested tub/shower water and waste lines. He loosened the flange and used a remote camera to see if it was wet behind the tub. He found no accumulated moisture or even signs of it in the tub space or internal wall space. He said he could run a pressure test but that that would take 45 minutes and even if it showed something, it wouldn't necessarily be this particular problem that it would be showing. He left the decision up to me, but he didn't recommend that I pay for a service that was doubtful to be of help. I agreed. He said if it were his house, he might carefully chip away some of the fascia in that area outside and see if he could see anything, and then re-cement it. A while after he left I noticed that he did not recaulk the flange after having pulled it away from the wall. We are left with a mystery. We have had a similar issue before and were not able to figure it out then, either. There is only so much you can do before you get into "overkill." It all looks dry back there, so we will just keep aware of things and carry on. We got a $20 discount for being a first-time customer from Angie's List. I forgot to ask for it when the plumber was here, so I called the company and they promptly and courteously sent me a cheque for $20. I put N/A for the price in the rating because I am not sure of the exact going rate in general. I think $98 was probably par for the course, and the $20 discount bringing it down to $78 made it very good. The staff on the phone and the plumber sent were polite and professional. The reason I did not give an overall A review is because of the lack of re-caulking. To have a leak in the caulk could lead to real, serious problems and I do not appreciate that crucial step having been omitted. I would probably use Allstate again. Hopefully, this was a "one-time" oversight. I am sure that if I had called them back and asked to have them come back and caulk, they would have responded promptly and courteously for this, as well. I chose to do it myself. The main issue for me is that it wasn't done as it should have been in the first place.

Checked 'em out at Angie's List and they came up aces. For good reason: phone response was competent and courteous. Despite a full schedule for the day, the receptionist/dispatcher called back within the hour with the good news that the technicians were on the way. They were pros ... knowledgeable and efficient. Replaced the valve, made some suggestions, checked out a couple other minor plumbing matters, and were on their way. Bravo!

I have had three different plumbers come to attempt fixes to my water pressure problem. None of them fixed it and all of them charged me a lot of money. Allstate did a great job -- fixed the problem I have been having for over a year. Although they did charge me labor time for the time that he went to a supply store to get the part (2 hours at $98 per hour), at least he got the correct part and actually fixed the problem that nobody else seemed to be able to fix. The last plumber who tried had a valve in his truck, but it evidently was faulty or the wrong size/type, because it didn't work. Bottom line -- After a year of frustartion, I am so glad I found Allstate because they finally fixed the problem. Very competent. Thank you.

Perfect, no issues, no problems. The most pain free part of my home remodel.
Description of Work: Fantastic! I had 7 faucets, a new toilet, garbage disposal and bidet seat installed. I had done my homework and gotten 5 bids, but when I tried to schedule another company a week in advance they couldn't fit me in for 2 weeks, yikes! I called Allstate and they juggled things around to get my full day job done on time. Chris the owner was wonderful and BJ who came out to do the install was good and knew what he was doing. Their price was very competitive for the size of our job. I would heartily recommend them! PS if you're in the market for faucets, go to Overstock.com! Join the $20/yr O club for rewards and free shipping. They have some amazing faucets for fantastic prices. The quality is super and they all function really well, esp if you're looking for the modern look. The receptionist was courteous, and had a tech scheduled for that day, which was much appreciated.. The tech was quick, courteous, cleaned up after himself and did the job perfectly. He also answered a question I had about our garden hose free of charge. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Our toilet stopped working over the weekend and the bathroom sink had stopped draining, so I called Allstate first thing Monday morning. The tech came that afternoon, fixed the non-flushing toilet in a few minutes, and cleaned out the clogged drain in the bathroom sink.

The installation for one toilet required the existing feed to the toilet (an actual pipe) to be cut at the wall, and for a new tap to be installed in its place. I made all the arrangements over the phone. The woman who helped me was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The plumber showed up early to the appointment, which was fine because the office had called to confirm that the revised timing would be ok. I wasn't there when he was working, but the person who supervised said that he was courteous, personable and efficient. The work was clean. I have two minor criticisms: First the plumber did not caulk or otherwise adhere the circular cover over the newly installed to the wall - I think he did so to avoid any damage to the tile wall, but on the other hand the cover just kinds of hangs there with the open hole exposed. The second issue is that the caulking around the base of the toilet is a little ragged and uneven. This probably is a result of our uneven floors which required the plumber to do a lot of shimming. In fact, my understanding is that the plumber actually took the time to install the toilet twice, to make sure it was level and solid given the angle of the floor. The bill almost exactly matched the estimate. The only difference was for additional items that I did not provide. And the Angie's list $20 discount was reflected in the final amount. All in all this was as good an experience as one can expect. I would recommend Allstate with no reservations and will definitely use them again.

The plumber was there on time, corrected the problem and explained the fixture and how to stop the drip in one feel swoop instead of waiting until all the excess water dripped out.
Description of Work: Seldom used toilet was found to be stuck, open and leaking and tub drain appeared to be leaking. Toilet issue was corrected and I am sure we are now saving money on what had been lost water. In regards to the tub, the plumbing system required some training as it was not your basic fixtures.

The tech showed up on time and was very polite and courteous. He did a great job. He cleaned up, even put covers over his shoes to protect my carpet. I have nothing but good things to say about the service. I just felt the price was a little high. It was a clogged kitchen drain and I was thinking it would be less than $100. However I would use them again.

I called Allstate at 9:30 AM to report a leaky sink, which had flooded my kitchen. I was told that someone would be coming out today, which was great. Even better was the fact that Michael Miller was there by 11. After quickly tackling the leaky sink, I had a few more problems for Mr. Miller to solve. My garbage disposal had been making a terrible noise, and I couldn't see anything inside. Michael quickly disassembled the disposal and found a misplaced bobby pin. Next, he replaced the valve and flapper on a toilet that had been really making me mad. This was all done in about an hour. This was the second time that Michael has been out to my home, and both times he has been kind, courteous, and very professional. I would definitely recommend Allstate Plumbing, and particularly Michael Miller

Septic failed. Called Allstate Tuesday morning at 8:30 BJ showed up about 11:30. System was repaired and site cleaned by 12:30. All for a very reasonable price. Absolutely no pain, no grief, no headaches. I had Allstate come back out again to replace old drains on 4 sinks. All done very well and reasonably priced. I've rehabbed 5 houses in the past year. Used dozens of contractors. Allstate just moved to the top of the list. THE TOP! They're THAT GOOD.
Description of Work: Septic system failed on Labor Day weekend. BJ came out Tuesday morning and got everything working again within an hour. I was so impressed with his performance and price that I had him come back out a few days later and repair some faulty drain lines which he also completed equally well. Everything from the initial call to schedule the work to work-site cleanup was done so well, I will never use any other plumbing company. They're THAT GOOD!

It was Sunday on a holiday weekend. I called Allstate and was told BJ was on duty and would call us back. It was just over 30 minutes and he called to determine our needs. He informed me it would be time-and-a-half charge due to it being Sunday, and quoted me a price for the first 45 minutes and increments thereafter. He asked if we wanted to wait until Tuesday when the rates would not be 1.5 times but I said today was better. He was at another job and said he'd call when he was on the way. He did call and was at our house not long after. He had to dig a couple of holes in our landscaping to determine the source of the water. He was very careful to disturb as little as possible. He ultimately determined our soaker hose, which ran overnight to water our foundation, was the culprit. He asked if we wanted him to refill the holes and we were happy to do that to avoid paying the hourly charge for something we could easily do ourselves. Despite it being quite hot and him getting very dirty, BJ was extremely polite and professional. He left his card including his cell number and said he's always happy to answer questions on the phone to try to help us solve problems ourselves, if possible. We will definitely use Allstate again and will ask for BJ specifically.

After trying to fix the issue m self and using another company who came out 2 times and never fixed it. Allstate was able to come out relatively quickly given the different companies we chose. There price was reasonable because I had an Angies list discount or I would have found the cost a little high. The gentleman who came out was professional and the problems are now solved. The only concern I had was with being charged by the hour the worker was really not in a hurry, and given what he did it probably took longer then probably needed. I would consider using them again if there is another discount available, because they do get the job done.
