I had an excellent experience with Allstate Plumbing. It started when I first called them and customer service went out of their way to look up my hot water heater to see if it still was under warranty. Many of the other companies told me that my warranty expired six years from the day that it was built, but it actually didn't expire until six years after we had closed on our home. Lucky for us our water heater was still under warranty! They picked up a new water heater on the way to our house and removed the old water heater and replaced the new one in our second story attic within 2 1/2 hours. They did an outstanding job and only charged us for labor. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and really appreciated their honesty.
Description of Work: They replaced our old hot water heater and replaced it with a new one in our upstairs attic. There was no cost to us except for the labor. They had to call out an additional person to help with the heater since it was in our upstairs attic, but the entire job from start to finish was only 2.5 hours.

See above! If we ever need a plumber again, we will call these guys!
Description of Work: When we purchased our house, our inspector told us that our water pressure was way too high and that it would cause a leak eventually. And we got around to hiring a plumber, these guys were amazing. They were responsive to my request, send at a professional plumber, and he did a full thorough inspection of my concerns, not just the simple request that I asked him to! In fact, he let me know that there was actually nothing wrong with our water pressure in the first place. Nothing like peace of mind!

Not too much to tell. For the toilet repair, they came in, assessed the leak, replaced the old floater that was spraying, and then removed and reset the toilet on a new wax ring as the old one (recently new, poorly installed). They set the toilet straight on the fittings and pipes, recauked and were done in 45 minutes. It works like a charm. The water heater story is similar, but with different parts. The two shower replacements, again, bing, bang, done. The only caveat here is that the don't patch walls, only do plumbing, so I had to fix up the access holes separately. The cuts in the sheet rocks were clean, regular, and easy to deal with.
Description of Work: This review is for reseating and resetting a poorly installed toilet (initial work not done by ALLSTATE). I have used ALLSTATE twice now, once for this work and once several months earlier to replace a water heater and do 2 shower installs (involved refitting pipes in the walls and bringing the water heater area up to code, total work including the water heater itself and haul off, ~$1,400). In both cases, I found them to be prompt, courteous, quick and knowledgeable. I have had cheaper work done, but some of that cheaper work is what these guys were fixing. I will be using them again.

They came on time and seemed professional. Drain pipe needed to be moved a couple inches. They did the drain OK, but after they left, we found the shower pan was an inch out of level. (Floor was concrete slab and level within 1/8 inch) Called them to fix it and they came out within a couple days. They used a piece of PVC pipe as a spacer and shimmed up one corner, leaving the rest of the pan unsupported. It was also still 1/4 out of level. We just decided to take it out ourselves, shim it correctly and then shot some spray foam under it to be sure. Just couldn't trust that they' do it right, and weren't willing to waste our time calling them a third time. Came out great. Now we just hope the drain doesn't leak.

These guys are so great I almost want to have more plumbing problems so I can call them again. They did good work and the price was around half of what I would have paid elsewhere. After doing the test both the onsite plumber and one in the office (by telephone) took the time to explain the results and my options in very understandable detail. They were so friendly, competent, and inexpensive I thought that maybe they were a startup that was bending over backwards in order to build a client base, but their website says they've been in business since 1996, so I guess they really just take pride in doing a good job at a good price. So glad I called them.

The pipes under my kitchen sink were old and developed a significant leak. I called Allstate Plumbing after checking reviews on several plumbing companies on Angie's List. Unlike some of the other companies we have used, Allstate does not charge a service call fee and instead the cost is for time spent and parts used. I called this morning to request service and a technician was here within the hour. Michael was courteous, friendly, professional and completed the replacement of the pipes and connections in a short time. I will definitely call on Allstate Plumbing for future plumbing needs.

When I called my wife on my way home from work, my son answered an told me that "the pipe broke, and water was coming out of the wall." I asked him to hand the phone to his Mom, and she explained that water had been gushing from the drain where we have our water softener backwash line. She had already turned the washing machine off which stemmed the tide, and they were in the process of cleaning everything up. Upon arrival, I figured I could snake the drain with the 25 ft, hand operated snake I had in the garage for occasions such as this. I was unable to force the snake through the p-trap where the water softener backwash line was directed, so I went in through the washing machine drain, but was unable to reach the problem after snaking 20+ feet into the drain, so I knew I had to call a professional. I called Allstate Plumbing at going on 8pm, and selected the after-hours emergency service option which redirected my call to the answering service. They took my name, address and phone number, and told me to expect a call from Jouel. Jouel called back a few minutes later to verify the information he had been given and I described my problem - a clogged drain affecting the laundry room and kitchen drains only, while the bathrooms (toilets, sinks, etc.) on the opposite side of the house seemed to be unaffected. Jouel explained their fees - $40 call + $147 hourly (-$20 discount for AL members), and said he would be here in 30 - 40 minutes. He arrived about 20 minutes later and came in to assess the problem. After unloading his machine, Jouel tried snaking the drain from what seemed to be the closest source of the problem - the laundry room washing machine drain line, but was unsuccessful. We went outside to find the clean out line, and I directed Jouel to the kitchen sink clean out line on the exterior of the brick below the kitchen sink. What he was really looking for was the main clean out line, often exposed at ground level at the front of the house, but I assured him that I had never seen one. Pointing to my neighbor's clean out line, Jouel told me mine should look just like that. We both looked down at the ground where the line ought to be - I'm sure he was dreading the thought of having to dig, but not nearly as much as I was dreading the thought of having to pay someone to do it. Back to the sink clean out line we went to give it a try from there. After what seemed like a fearfully long length of snake cable being fed into the abyss, Jouel announced that he could feel and hear that the drain had just been cleared. Thank God! All I could think about was possibly having to dig a hole at $147 hourly. Thankfully, we didn't need to go there. Jouel packed up his equipment and wrote up the invoice. I happily wrote a check for $170.30 and restarted the washing machine to finish its cycle.

I was quoted a price of not more than $300 & bill came in at $272.69; after $20 discount from Angies list. Water was leaking from hose in the hot water heater when gas company came. I called the company & they got a technician out the next day tightened hose at no additional charge. Was very happy with work.

Wonderful experience! Everyone I spoke to at the company was polite and professional. Carl's tips were very helpful and appreciated. Joel, the plumber, was fantastic! He's very friendly, answers all my novice questions and did the work in a very quick and positive manner. I'm ecstatic about my new fixtures and the water savings they are sure to bring me. I have since called him back to install a fourth new toilet and will hire him again (requesting Joel by name) to repair my leaky faucets this Fall. I'm thrilled to find my new plumber...good contractors are so hard to find! Thanks Allstate!
Description of Work: I replaced 3 old toilets with the newer, high efficiency units. During my initial call to schedule the installation, Carl advised me to save money I could purchase the toilets myself. He said they would even pick them up for me if needed! Joel came to my home on time, following a call enroute, to do the work. He removed the old toilets, unboxed the new ones and folded up the packaging for disposal, and installed the wonderful new toilets, replacing old flex hoses or flanges as needed. Finally, he removed the trash, the packaging, and the old toilets when he left!

The plumber was great, the damage was a lot more extensive than it looked originally and resulted in additional hidden repairs that were exposed when he knew to cut out additional drywall. He fixed it quickly and their pricing was very reasonable compared to other guys that wanted $50-$75 just to come out on the weekend.

It was a good experience from start to finish. I had a couple builder-grade toilets that just weren?t doing the job. After reading web reviews, I selected an American Standard model and called Allstate for an estimate. They got back to me right away and provided very good advice. They were happy to order and install exactly what I asked for, but warned me that parts could be an issue down the line since American Standard isn?t as ?standard? as I thought. They suggested that I read up on a Toto model that did a very good job, was priced better and had widely available parts. They were also very honest that I could save money by getting the toilets myself and avoid their necessary markup. After a little reading?it seemed like the way to go. I found an internet provider that had the models for the same price as a local supply company and offered free delivery. A week later I had the toilets and called Allstate back to schedule the installation. The plumber showed up exactly when scheduled, had both toilets installed in a few hours, took the old ones away, and left absolutely no mess. Just what you ask for from a service provider.

Faucet was leaking, and leaking into the wall. Allstate was able to send someone out the same day I called. The tech was one of the best I have ever seen---he was knowledgeable, careful, conscientious, and concerned. He did a great job. And the price (helped by the Angie?s list discount and by the fact that we used the parts I provided) was extremely reasonable. This will certainly be the company I will call if---or more likely, when---I need a plumber in the future.

The plumber showed up on time, was very professional, and finished the work quickly. He also fielded some questions related to other plumbing problems (shower valve and toilets) and made recommendations that were very helpful. Great work and helpful advise from B.J.!!! Update: I recommended Allstate to two friends based on a good experience with Allstat/BJ. One service call was for a dishwasher installation and the other for toilet installation. Both friends had really poor experiences with the plumber being extremely rude and I felt bad for making the recommendation. This is just not the way a company employees should treat people in their homes or community; therefore, I cannot recommend them again and subject another friend or neighbor to poor customer service or professionalism.

I called Allstate Plumbing on a Monday when I realized our water pressure exceeded 105 psi. I got a ball park quote over the phone and was told that I would get a call later that day with an appointment date. I got the call as expected and they were able to fit me in the following day, Tuesday. The tech showed up on time and began the excavation outside. He was mindful to keep the area clean and even saved the grass he dug up so he could fill in around the new valve box later. He installed the prv and even installed a new water main shut off valve because the existing one was fairly old. After he finished outside, he came inside and installed the expansion tank in our attic. He put on shoe covers and was exceedingly polite. He finished up and tallied the bill. Even with some extra services, the total was on the low end of the ball park estimate I'd gotten over the phone the day before. And this estimate was over $100 less than a competitor gave me after a visit and inspection the day before. After a few hours I checked the work in the attic and noticed a small drip coming from the expansion tank. I called back and they had someone out here about an hour later to fix it. I have found our new plumbing company and will use them for everything going forward. In addition to the techs being very polite, everyone I talked to on the phone was polite and friendly.

They worked with my son and did exactly what I described in the services. At the end, I paid them and then my son tested the watering system and found a bit of a problem, so they jumped right on fixing that as well.
Description of Work: We had several outside hose bibs that were becoming a problem. I broke one trying to fix it myself and decided that since they were on copper pipes, it would be better to have a real plumber. We also were having a problem with the anti-siphon valves. So, they came out and replaced three hose bib valves and their anti-siphon valves.

BJ was the technician and we were very impressed by his professionalism and his pride in his work. He responded very well to all our questions and the "twists" that came about. We had one "twist" where the toilet tank was 30 years old and the replacement tank we purchased (we provided almost all of the parts...I had planned to do the work) was the new "green" low capacity . He was very creative and installed the "green" tank with a new float valve to offset the water level. The wife and I tested it out and no problems with the water capacity!

I called multiple plumbing companies and Allstate was able to come out the quickest, so I chose them. I was quoted an arrival time of 12-3, but received a phone call about 10:45 saying they had a plumber in the area and he could come earlier if it was convenient. It was nice to take care of the problem and not have to wait around all afternoon for them to arrive. The plumber was named BJ. He was professional, efficient, and friendly. He checked for any other signs of problems in regards to the leak, but concluded that all we needed was a cleanout adapter and plug which he acquired and installed. He also answered my questions about the water heater. Total cost of service call and parts (including $20 discount for Angie's List members) was $84. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Noticed water leaking onto the floor of our hall closet which shares a wall with our bathroom sink. There was a cleanout access which was not covered properly, allowing water draining from the sink to leak onto the floor. Also, asked for advice on the condition of our water heater.
