Overall it went great and the quality is outstanding. Our salesman, Lamar, is an outstanding person and great to work with. There were issues (as there almost always are with jobs this large) but they were resolved to my satisfaction. I would definitely use them again and have recommended them to friends already.

Allied was very good, they were very quick. The only issue was that I also had one window replaced and I did not have a good experience with the window person. The siding went great though. They initially did paint the siding the wrong color but they quickly fixed it and did not blame me so it was not an issue.

We didn't go with them. The salesperson was very professional and we felt real good about him.

Allied's salesman, Mike Connors, gave a thorough explanation and the services of the workers lived up completely to his description. We had the house sided and then they painted it the colors we selected. New gutters were installed and painted. The workers were very careful and very diligently picked up all the trash and loose nails that were scattered in the yard during the work. Before hiring them I checked one of the references and they gave them a glowing report. We would hire them again as we were happy with their work from the beginning with the salesman to the end of the project. They were very fast (the had a large crew) and completed the work within 4 days.

We chose Allied because of previous excellent reports from friends, neighbors. The window installers were excellent. There was an extra charge for one window that needed to be reinstalled that our salesperson had not included in our contract. I WOULD use the window crew again. The siding crew showed up promptly on the scheduled start date. They worked together excellently and the siding work itself was excellent. Our site manager, not so excellent. He showed up a couple hours after our job started. His girlfriend, her friend, and 4 small children showed up as well. I found that not to be safe with siding, nails, saws, and ripped off siding being thrown away from our house. The girlfriend was there to take pics. The siding job went great. We were encouraged by our salesman to go off contract to have our 2 new doors installed. BIG MISTAKE! The siders ruined our new fiberglass door by drilling an extra hole in it, so we have a visible screw on the inside surface of our door. They denied the mistake until we showed them the picture. The siding crew left a mess of nails, cigarette butts, and garbage that I cleaned up. They did come back 5 days later to clean, but I had picked up by that time. The paint crew was a circus. I called the site manager with a list of concerns, but when he showed up the next time, he did not even ring the door to speak with me. 1st day, 6 painters showed up at 11 am, site manager came, all but 1 left. Found her asleep in my driveway later that day. Second day, approx 15 came, and painted my house all in one day. Neighbors complained that there always seemed to be a loud group of idle painters in the front yard. They did fill in some concrete holes on the patio, and that is fine, but does not make up for everything else. Our shutters and fascia board were missing. Lots of conflicting stories on shutters, but they tried to convince me that the right shutters were no longer made and much too small shutters "would work just fine" As they were getting ready to install them, I yelled up to the 2nd story to stop. They installed the front 2 lights improperly, we hired an electrician to reinstall. A 3rd light on the patio, they were going to cut into the window trim to install, told them to stop, our electric. installed properly without needing to cut trim. As painters were still working in back, daughter of painter was demanding full payment for entire job in the front. We had no shutters, and I had not even had a chance to look over paint job, nor had my husband. Not happy at all that we would not pay. Talked to our site manager and salesperson. One of the reasons our salesperson said that our job had not gone well was because the crews had been working for 17 days straight. Site manager and sales man not happy with us not paying until job finished because contract reads "substantial completion", no shutters, not subst. New shutters finally installed, one is dented, but we were glad job was over.

The experience was really good. He gave me the quote when he came, so he didn't have to leave and figure something out.

When we called, the estimator came out promptly. His estimate for replacement was approximately equal to having the existing siding repaired and repainted. He was very thorough in explaining what would be involved, even telling us to not purchase pre-colored HardiePlank because our house moves between drought and wet conditions and the HardiePlank would be voided if they caulked pre-colored materials. We opted for just primed siding, with painting included in the contract. On the day the job started, the workers arrived at 7 am and by day's end, at 7:30 pm, they had completely removed all the siding and had started replacing it. As they removed, they discovered that the old rock wool blown insulation had settled so that many of the spaces had large voids, so we decided to replace it with new insulation batting, for a small additional fee that hadn't been included in the original estimate. By the end of the second day, all siding and trim had been replaced. The painting took longer, due partly to prep work, and partly weather. However, the paint crew was extremely thorough. The house is now completely resided and looks as it did before, but smoother and more even colored. We couldn't be happier with the results. The installation of HardiePlank even reduced the cost of our homeowner's insurance!

I got all three companies I used for the bid off Angie's List. Allied was the first bid and I instantly felt comfortable with the sales guy Mike, and my mom said 'sign the contract today', she also felt comfortable, but, it was the first bid, and my money being spent. Not knowing if this was going to be 5K or 20K, I wasn't comfortable accepting the first bid. Turns out I could have signed the contract and been fine. Allied did turn out to be the lowest bid, in fact 6K lower than the highest bid. I had to wait a couple of weeks for the windows to come in and get everything scheduled. If you've never had windows replaced, it's noisy and a bit scary. I have old 50's limestone with security bars installed, and despite all the noise, nothing was damaged and the windows were installed within an afternoon. I'm sure I drove the window guys crazy with my hovering and checking up, but they were gracious about it. They came back and re-installed the security bars once the painting and siding were done (the house looked naked to me without them.) I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't get to see the installation of the siding. When I left for work one morning at 7:30 they were just showing up, I got home at 4:00 anxious to see the progress, and they were done, finished, cleaned up and gone. My neighbors (including a house renovator that lives next door) commented it was the most organized and efficient process they had ever seen. The siding looks awesome, every cut is perfect. The painting took a bit longer than I thought it would, given the speed of the other two crews, but at the end, I LOVE the results! The crew even replaced a rotten post in the carport and painted it. I almost forgot about the gutter, it was so quick and painless, they came one Saturday, gutter already colored to match the house, bent and cut it on sight, and were gone.

The project went pretty good. There were a few little details that did not get fixed. I have called them a couple of times and they have not responded to me. I was a little disappointed that they did not fix them after I asked. They did good quality work.
