Description of Work: I contracted this company to clean out an aerobic septic system last month. The receptionist gave me a quote of $350 for the approximate size of my system and one hour time limit for service; but, did mention that other costs could incur if more time was needed or the openings to each tank was not dug out and ready to open. She initially tried to get someone out that day, but it wasn't until the next evening that the technicians arrived. This was fine since there was no emergency. The technicians had to dig up one area where a filter was located, which I had forgotten. This cost extra and that is understandable. However, when I finally got the total it was $595 ( 70% increase from estimate). The extra costs were for 15 minutes of digging to clean filter and having to pump out an extra 750 gallons of septic water from my 1500 gallon system. In my opinion, that is excessive cost. Three years ago I paid $400 dollars for the same service and they did all of the digging and opening of the tanks. This company is very professional and their service technicians are knowledgeable. However, you will pay for dearly for anything extra that is not included in the time and capacity they limit for their base estimate. It would have been helpful to know a range of potential cost for this service. Instead you are at their mercy once they arrive and begin service. In the future, I will contract with a company that will provide a more definite estimate/cost.

Description of Work: My drain field wasn't draining sufficiently and was backing up the tanks. I had called a few other septic companies but most wanted to try to sell me a whole new system. Vince explained what was going on and was able to provide maintenance to the system and resolve the problem. He obviously knows his stuff and has been in the business a long time. It was reassuring that he could provide references of home owners that had been in my position before and he was able to help them.
