I was very pleased with the results. They were extremely careful with the backhoe work - they picked a route around through the brush that resulting in removing only a couple of junipers, and they worked within a foot of one of the stakes of a staked apple tree without disturbing it. Although Vince had said he couldn't promise to put the fence back exactly as it was since they didn't have the right stretching equipment, they took a lot of care to get it back up and it looks fine. The crew worked well together and they were friendly to me and to my dog, who watched part of the process from a separate pen. They appeared to be long-time employees. Vince was flexible with the scheduling - he gave me the estimate before Christmas, but since it wasn't an emergency we waited until after the holidays to do the work so that in case something went wrong I wouldn't be without indoor plumbing over the holidays.

Vince's team was the 3rd business that came out & looked at problem. We have a pressure-dose septic system. About 2 weeks ago we discovered that it was pooling smelly 'water' (half-treated sewage) around one of the tank lids. Too late we learned that the first two businesses didn't do "this kind of work"--even though over phone when we explained problem, they felt they could fix it...oh well. Unfortunately for us, one of those businesses charged us $75 for a 5 minute visit. Bummer. WARNING: just because a business listed in Angie's List says they focus on "septic services" or offer "septic repairs" etc. make certain they offer comprehensive services. And, by the way, 'sewer' service means repairs to lines hooked up to a City's sewer system, not a private system like ours. The man we had to pay $75 for simply visiting us for a few minutes can pump out septic tank, can repair the septic pump, can lay new pipe. BUT he cannot roto-rooter & that's what he said we needed. We don't know if he can dig up & replace old pipe since he misdiagnosed our problem. I called Vince Thursday morning/Sept 11, 2008. He was booked all day and the next day (today, Friday, 9/12/08) seemed just as bad up until late afternoon. 10 days had already gone by, waiting/dealing with the first two businesses. We decided to flush less, shower less--with the continuing Texas' heat it was really starting to smell around the tanks. Armed with additional info Vince provided, we went out & started digging in an effort to uncover the exact problem & save $$ too. From the beginning, he felt that problem was NOT simply a plugged line that required rotor rooting. He felt a line was crushed/had fallen in & it needed to be replaced. Vince said that in all of his years of business he had not seen a plugged pipe display the symptoms we described. We, in turn, doubted that Vince was right & decided to find out for ourselves. Had we called a rotor-rooter business as the $75 man instructed we would've thrown away more money. Vince called us back yesterday & said that the next morning's customer (which was today's) agreed to let us take their morning spot (and they took our afternoon one) since "you're in dire straits." Such nice people! Vince's team called this a.m. & let us know what they had to do before they could get here. Once here they went into non-stop work mode, about three hours worth. Great job.

Our septic system was installed when we had the house built in 1984. It had been pumped several times during those years. Over the last 8 months we have had problems with the system backing up. We had it pumped on 12/31/07, at which time the tank was flooded. Indications were that the drain field was not accepting water. Eventually over the last few weeks, the system started backing up regularly while doing laundry typically, so we started calling companies in for estimates. We were told by numerous companies that the system was shot, and had to be completely replaced, to the tune of $9,000 to $14,000. Recovering from sticker shock, we called All American Septic Solutions and got the owner on the phone. He graciously spent approximately 45 minutes on the phone discussing the condition of our system, what symptoms we were experiencing, and what he thought he and his crew could do for us. This was the only company we spoke to that discussed the possibility of cleaning out the drain system and reconditioning the septic system. They were very up front with us that they would have to open the drain field in several locations to verify that their suspicions were correct - that roots had formed a continuous matting under the drain lines, and that the drain lines had filled with solid deposits due to the matting preventing them from draining properly. They were right on time, very courteous, and worked very efficiently. They were able to excavate and replace the drain line from the tank to the drain field which had been crushed and punctured by rock. They were also able to open the drain field in 4 locations around the drain loop (an area of approx 30' X 40') and confirmed their suspicions. They were then able to use a high pressure water jet line, in conjunction with their pumping truck, to run the entire length of all 4 sides of the drain field removing all solids. They then placed 2 riser clean out traps at 2 opposite ends of the drain field for access to verify water flow rate and for occasional addition of Copper Sulfate to discourage tree roots from matting up around the drain lines. They also placed a riser on our septic tank to remove the need for digging down to the tank for future cleaning. The riser is concreted to the tank, and sits flush with the ground level. We are extremely thrilled with the idea that we could have this system cleaned and reconditioned.
