Description of Work: I was very disappointed in the responsiveness of the company representative. She agreed to get me a quote for the work I needed done understanding that I was coming in from out of state and had a very precise timeframe to meet. I communicated by email and even spoke to her on the phone, but she did not follow through. It has been over a week now.

It was not that A-Plus couldn’t do some of the items on the list, but rather our handyman for the prepaid deal could not. The phrase handyman is a loose term meeting multiple skill sets depending on which customer, worker or company classify them as. There are some types of jobs such as sheet rock, plumbing and carpentry that we do not allow our handyman to work on due to lack of knowledge or practice. At A-Plus we believe in doing the job right the first time. If that means offering to send a more specialized tradesman to complete the task separate from the prepaid deal, we can do that. We always encourage any of our customers who have purchased a handyman deal to provide us a list at the time of scheduling to make sure we have the right guys for the job.

Description of Work: I needed a base cabinet with a sink and overhead cabinet removed and a new sink installed in my laundry room. A toilet was also removed and a new stool installed in our daughter's bathroom. He did not install the toilet correctly and it leaked all over the floor and leaked thru to the room below down the walls as well as dripping thru the ceiling. The sink installed also wasn't done properly leaking all over the floor. The sink purchased was of poor quality and the plumbing supply company refused to take it back due to the way the holes were chilled out. Very unhappy with the service and responses we received.

Our goal as a good local company is to assist our customers as best as we can, even in the event of an issue. Unlike many handyman or contract workers who are uninsured and work out of the back of pickup trucks, we do not disappear if there is an issue. We are fully staffed Monday thru Friday and have an emergency answer service after hours so we are always here to assist. At this home, a manager was sent out within the first hours after we were told there was a leak. He was able to stop any more damage from occurring and provided floor fans to help for a quick dry. While there, Josh did meet and confer with the home owners to develop a plan to remedy this situation as best as we could. A-Plus most certainly stands behind its work and warranties when necessary. It was agreed that the utility sink provide by the homeowner was installed correctly, but the sink was adequate to support the drain. To preserve good customer relations, we did have a certified plumber replace a new utility sink that the customer provided at our cost, as well repair the leak with the toilet as part of our warranty promise. We were quick and diligent with our responses, working with our customer’s schedule. We kept the customer up to date through e-mail and phone as most efficiently as possible. Since we honored our promise, we would encourage our customer to give A-Plus another shot. We have serviced the Austin area for over 35 years and take pride in our workmanship and customer service relationships. If we didn’t make things right for our customers, we wouldn’t be in service still today!

Description of Work: They did a lovely job of putting up my ceiling fan. I am very pleased with the work and have no complaints at all. I am just always shocked at how much everything costs. To my mind, $50 is a more reasonable cost, though I was happy to get the fan installed, even at $75.

Description of Work: Even thing about this company is A+. I needed fans put in each room of my house. The company worked with my time schedule. Chris was on time, honest, friendly, and performed the work I wanted done perfectly. I even had him change out a fan after he installed it because I wanted it mounted to the ceiling instead of hanging down from the post. He did take a breath, but he took it apart and rehung it the way I wanted it done, and in good humor. I will absolutely be using their services in the future.

Description of Work: A very professional Kevin painted my baseboards without leaving a drop on the carpet; replaced broken chains from two ceiling fans after going to Lowe's to buy the chain (!!); replaced spline that was supposed to be holding the screen in my screen door; and power-washed my large driveway. I could not possibly have been happier with the job they did, would have them back in a heartbeat.
