Rafael was very nice and accommodating. He told me honestly that my bath tub was fine and it does not need refinishing. I would trust him with any job. Thanks Rafael.

Scheduled service. Got confirmation through email from contractor but he was scheduled to arrive at 8am.....at 8:30 I called....no answer....sent him an email....no reply. Nothing worse than taking time off work to have people not show up or even call!! Plus read other Angie reviews about this same company and it seems many were treated this way.

Rafael arrived promptly at the second scheduled time. (He had missed the first appointment due to scheduling confusion which is why the overall rating was marked down.) He went to work immediately and did a fine job. Everything was left in pristine condition after he finished. The sliding doors were replaced several days after completion. I plan to have him come back to refinish a shower in the spring. It's been over a year now and the finishing is starting to bubble up and split. I have tried reaching out to the SP, but they responding.

Through Angie's List messages we scheduled for 1.3.13 at 1pm. No show, no call. I called them at 1:15pm and 1:45pm and had to leave messages both times asking for a return call so I would know if they are coming at all, and if so, when, so I could get on with my day. 4:45pm still no show, and no call. I see that others had this same experience recently (after I'd already purchased the deal) - if that wasn't the case, I'd give the company another chance by assuming there were unforeseen circumstance that came up and they couldn't be here or call. But considering my experience isn't isolated I'm now getting a refund on my purchase. I'm using Angie's List to enlist the services of professionals and until now have not been disappointed. No call and no show is not only unprofessional but it is rude not to consider that customers have scheduled their work day around the appointment.

I paid for this super deal of $249 for a bathtub refinish in the end of Nov-2013. I was contacted via email from Rafael Lanuza of Tub and Counters to set up an appointment on Dec 16, 2013. Few days before then, Rafael called and wanted to get a picture of the tub. I emailed him the picture and he replied to say that it will cost an additional $100 because mine is a garden tub. We finally agreed to another $75 on top of the $249 super deal. On the night before Dec 16, he emailed me and asked to postpone the appointment to Dec 20 because of all the backlog. I agreed to the Dec 20 date. On the night before Dec 20, he emailed me and said the ice storm had caused delay of his other schedules and had to re-schedule to after the holidays. He said he is willing to forgo the $75 cost to make up for the rescheduling trouble. I agreed to reschedule to Dec 27 at 1:00 pm. On the date of Dec 27, there was no warnings or calls to postpone or cancel the appointment, I assume he will keep his promise this time. At 1:45 pm on Dec 27, there was no sign of anyone from Tub and Counters. So I called the phone number that Rafael Lanuza called before and no one answered so I left a voice message telling him that no one showed up and it was 45 minutes behind the scheduled time. At around 4:00 pm on Dec 27, I emailed him a message stating how unhappy I am with him not making the appointment and not informing me any changes. To say that I am extremely unhappy will be an understatement because I have paid for this super deal over a month ago thinking that I can get my tub repaired before the new year but it ended up with NOTHING. I need to get my money refunded or call my credit card company for a credit dispute to stop this payment. This SUPER DEAL is a total rip off.

Called company (Raphael) on 12/8 or 12/9. He agreed to come to my house on 12/14, between 9:00-10:00am. There was no show -no call for that day. Contacted him on 12/17th. He indicated that he forgot to come on the 12/14 original schedule time. He rescheduled for a home visit on Sat. 12/21 around 10:00am. Again he (service) was a no show no call. This service should not be on Angie's list. I see I am not the only customer that this no show-no call event occurred. There is a "list" that he and the service should be on but the site will not allow me to stated the "adjective word(s)" used. Buyer be aware. If a service is a no show no-call for two straight weeks, think how awful the actual service would be. Mr J. , Dallas

Rafael had a bit of a delay getting out here, caused by ice storms and heavy rain (he mixes things outside, so weather is important). I wish he was a bit more proactive about telling us when there were delays, but he responded to my emails and texts, so no big deal. He resurfaced our tub, took extra care to cover everything before he started. The results were amazing! It looks like a new tub, at about 10% of the cost of having it replaced! I would definitely recommend him to others.

I have set two different appointments to get the work done. They missed both with no communication. I had to contact them to figure things out and still haven't heard back from them or had the work done. Angie's List is helping me resolve the matter. 12/31/13: Tubs and Counters did finally come out. Here in Dallas, we had an ice storm and it set the company back. Once they came, they did a great job. They were friendly, professional, and I would use them again. They definitely redeemed themselves!!!

The work that was done was just ok. Scheduling was the big issue.

I bought voucher for BathTub refinish. They indicated they could do it on 12/02. I asked if possible to do it on 11/27. Say indicated they will confirm if possible on Saturday 11/23. Did not receive any confirmation on Saturday. On Sunday I asked for update. They indicated the sooner they could do it was on 12/17. So I canceled the Voucher with Angie's list and indicated no to post any negative review as we just could not agree on a date. I email Tubs and Counters that it was ok as I canceled voucher. Their answer was an arrogant "Good for you". So I decided to write this review to show the "professionalism" of this company.

Refinished our porcelain tub. Went very well.

Did a great job. Left everything clean and in good order. Didn't give a lot of communication about the job, no warranty left with me, no information about the materials used. So, professionalism could have been better, but it's a great job and looks wonderful.

Bathtub was beautiful when finished. Sink had a few bumps. Glad I had it done.

He came in and went right to work and completed it within two hours. However, I did not receive instructions as to when I could use the tub and nothing in writing on the five (verbal) year guarantee. Would like to have the guarantee in writing. Have requested it via e-mail.

Initially, there was miscommunication about the date of the appointment but that was quickly resolved. On the scheduled date, Rafael arrived within a few minutes of the scheduled time and immediately went to work. He refinished my bathtub which had some chips and scratches. He completed the work quickly with absolutely no mess. The tub looks great.

We had 4 pedicure tubs refinished. We originally had some issues with them staining, but Rafael and his team fixed the problem, so we're now good.

The provider was very responsive and able to answer all of my questions clearly. He estimated the time for the entire process to be 4 hours which was met. Refinishing is a messy process with sanding, etc. but he took all necessary measures to leave the rest of the restroom in clean condition including taping off sections that would get dirty. He did let me know before he began work that he would need to strip the paint on this job due to the large chips and flaking of the paint. This stripping process cost an extra $50. I wasn't surprised by this as I read the fine print when I purchased the offer. He was unable to accept a credit card in person so I wrote a personal check for this amount. Once finished he gave instruction on when the earliest time we could use our tub again which was 24 hours. In summary, he provided all services as stated and kept the surrounding area in the condition it was in when he arrived. I am highly satisfied by this provider and would have him come back and refinish if needed or provide other services. I have also recommended him to my family and neighbors.

Rafael refinished my 60 year old tub and all I can say is WOW. It looks brand new. He arrived exactly on time, did a fantastic job and clean up. Will definitely recommend him to my friends and neighbors. It was so much cheaper than replacing the old ugly stained tub. Thank you, Rafael and Angie!

He did a great job, was responsive in the quote process. Punctual to come for the service, did a good job with good quality, cleaned up before leaving, all done in a nice a courtious manner. Very satisfied and will gladly recommend them!

Fine but could have been a little less messy.

Perhaps a perfect job would be someone coming on time, doing the work, cleaning up, and leaving. In some ways it is more impressive when someone runs into some problems, but works until everything is right. Some water came out of the jets which messed up the process, but he persevered until the job was complete. He was on time and within budget. The tub is beautiful.

It took longer than I expected, and I'd forgotten how bad acrylic can smell before it sets, but the 70+year old bathtub looks wonderful--like new.

We had a miscommunication about the date of the work. I had one date and he didn't show up. I called, and he said he had the job scheduled the following week. I had taken the day off work to be there, so that was not good. However, the following week he showed up right on time and they had the tub finished within 3 hours. They were professional and courteous, and overall, I was very pleased with their work.

He arrived on time, and did a teriffic job. I was really pleased. I would definitely use him again.
