+ -1 moreMr. Baldi, came by and we discussed what I wanted . He measured the area, and told me he'd email the estimate. He email the estimate as promised the next day, I approved and ask when he could start, he stated that Wednesday. Thrilled, I said o.k and they were here as promised on Wednesday at 8:30am. He said they would be done by Friday, but they were done with everything Thursday. They did an excellent job, I didn't have to stand over anyone or question what was going on. I have used his company in the past and will continue to use them for our landscaping need.
Description of Work: Removed all "sod" from the backyard, re-sodded the area with St. Augustine, built a playground area filled with kiddie cushion, added a flagstone path around existing deck, removed ground cover, planted a live oak and prepared two areas for planting.

Description of Work: He walked our grounds and asked what kind of plants we like and dislike. He asked for our ideas to incorporate into the design. He came back with a design for the front and back yard.

+ 0 moreGreat experience. Mr. Baldi was punctual, professional and helpful with his advice on the plants. His crew worked so fast and efficiently, and the entire job was completed in about 6 hours, and there was a lot of work to do. Mr. Baldi was also on site to manage, monitor and get his hands dirty. His advice provided on maintenance and care of the plants was excellent. You should see my plants now-blooming and growing so fast (palm trees are a bit slow growing, but I guess that's how they are!). The work was done mid April, and everything has flourished.
Description of Work: I had some scraggly overgrown bushes removed from the front beds and more appropriate plants planted in their place. In the backyard I had a pear tree removed and the flower bed surrounding it landscaped with tropical plants. Then I had another bed that contained Cannes, extended the length of our fence and more tropical plants planted.

Description of Work: I have been using Baldi for at least 10 years. When I built my new house I continued to use his services. Initially I used Baldi for regular lawn and gardening services, but now I do my own grass - mow edge and blow. I still use Baldi for all gardening services. I have also had Ricardo come to quote me for some new area major plantings and he has done an excellent job.

+ -1 moreIt was exactly as I'd hoped it would be. This is the first time I've used Angie's List and it was definitely a good experience. Mr. Baldi came to my home (as scheduled) and gave me an immediate written estimate for the work that needed to be done. He broke down the parts of the job so that I could decide what different alternatives would cost. He and his crew arrived at the planned time and completed the job in the promised time. He was at the site supervising. When he left, he left me (upon my request) an extra bag of mulch for my use at a latter time.
Description of Work: My bushes around my house and flower beds had never been done professionally. I'm moving now and needed them to look really good. Mr. Baldi was very knowledgeable about plants and landscaping. He listened to what I wanted and completed the work according to instruction. His crew was very nice, worked quickly, and cleaned up at the end of the job meticulously. Incidentally, when I mentioned to Mr. Baldi that his crew cleaned up very well, he said that it was company policy to completely clean up at the end of each day regardless of how many days the job was to take.

From the very first meeting, he displayed a professional attitude and an ability to know what I wanted in my yard, although I had a difficult time expressing my ideas. He provided a detailed plan drawing and spent time explaining it to me. He was patient with my questions and easy to contact if I had any concerns during the work. I'm very pleased with the open, tranquil feeling he created around the pool. The beds around the house used native and low-maintenance plants. I have already contracted Ricardo to build a flagstone path from the pool to the driveway and I plan to hire him for regular lawn care service.
Description of Work: Ricardo removed most of our existing landscape around the house and within a pool area, leaving large trees and a few crepe myrtles and yaupon holly trees. Raised the canopy on several oak trees and Bradford Pear trees. Added compost soil and tilled the beds. Created an amazing new look with plants and small trees, boulders and large gravel. He added plants on the original design as the project progressed and created two new additional beds at my request. One of these used crepe myrtles that were removed and replanted along a fence line. He even incorporated roses in an existing area, something I've always wanted to do but had not told him. The crew cleaned up EVERY evening and put in a full day's work. Took 4-5 days to complete.

After the patio was in place but not yet complete, my wife wanted it a bit larger and Ricardo accommodated this request without a problem. The person doing the stone work did a very good job. Then they put in the beds with hardwood mulch and the remainder of the zoysia sod. Although Ricardo was not there all of the time he was there every day and we could tell that all of the materials showed up on time when needed and the crew knew what had to be done. Upon completion of the job, we performed a walk through and any items that came up were addressed to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: After receiving several bids for landscaping we went with Baldi Gardens because of the company's reputation on Angie's List and after meeting with Ricardo Baldi I could see why the company has a good reputation. After an initial meeting with my ideas, he came back with a detailed plan for the landscaping work and we then met again and my wife had a few additional ideas that Ricardo worked into the plan and we had an updated estimate that evening. The work consisted of adding Zoysia sod to a portion of the front yard and added a bed with 4 plants. Added a flagstone walk 60'x3' using thick OK flagstone set in mortar. Removed existing grass in the back, regrade, and replaced with Zoysia. Landscaped backyard per plan, adding soil and mulch. Installed two drain lines to tie in all four downspouts for drainage. Built a 12"-18" inch stone wall along the back as a border. Added a herb garden and 10'x6' flagstone patio and 32'x3' flagstone walk to the patio. Work was completed in OCT 2007.

+ -1 moreMr. Baldi was very professional each time I spoke with him. He came to give an estimate and was understanding when there was a delay on getting approval from my HOA for the work. Once approval was received, the work was scheduled in a week. The drains seem to be working just fine. I actually tried to hire him again for a different project, but heard back from him too late. (The 2 phone numbers I had were to a numerical pager and a fax machine) I emailed him through his website link to their "service request" link to contact them immediately." Guess we have different definitions of "immediately".

They offered me advice and feedback on landscaping that I could do myself. They come out twice a month to do routine lawn care on my yard (mowing, edging, blowing). I am very happy with the work that they do. I did have a problem getting them scheduled after the first visit, but they were responsive when I identified the problem for them and I haven't had any issues since.
Description of Work: They perform routine lawn maintenance on my front and back yard. I have also had them clean my beds, trim my trees and cut down the 6 foot tall grass behind my property on other occasions.

+ 3 moreFrom the very beginning Mr. Ricardo Baldi was great! He met with us in the evenings after we both got home. This was very important to us since neither of us can miss time at work. His design was exactly what we wanted and even though it was above our budget, we liked him so much that we decided to go for it. Mr. Baldi listened to what we wanted, incorporating the native species of plants we preferred and handling a difficult drainage issue. Plus, the work is not only functional -- it is gorgeous! He was prompt and always on schedule, from the time it took to get his design and estimate, to the workers actually doing the work (the crew was there at 8:00 a.m sharp every morning and left at 5:00 p.m). The crew cleaned up the job site every evening before leaving, so that we could still use our driveway and backyard during construction. It's only been a few days since Baldi Gardens finished our patio, and we've already had butterflies and frogs visit our flower beds.
Description of Work: Mr. Baldi installed a flagstone patio, French drain system, raised flower bed and some plants in our backyard. He used Oklahoma Flagstone for the patio and native species for the plantings. Mr. Baldi even raised some of our existing sprinkler heads so that they would water the new plantings correctly. Great attention to detail!!

Mr. Baldi's company re-graded some of the backyard, put in new French drains, lowered the old French drains, and built a beautiful stone wall around the back of the house. The work was clean, precise, and the workers were very polite. They cleaned up after themselves so well that you could not tell they had been there! Mr. Baldi listened to our concerns and fixed what we were not happy with. My only complaint is that we had a pave stone walkway they had to dig up and when they put in back in they did not level the stones. Now I have an uneven walkway and expensive pave stone that is now broken into pieces.

The work was completed quickly, with a large team of folks who worked diligently and professionally. I was extraordinarily happy with the work that was done. It was not inexpensive, but worth the extra cost to get someone who knows what they are doing and is wiling to follow up and make sure the work is done right.
