Called Rex and when he heard that I was unable to pump water due to cracks in the strainer basket he fitted me into his schedule and came the next day to make the repair. Professional, personal and knowledgeable, I'm going to recommend him to my neighbor.

Rex responded the same day we called him. He gave us a fair quote and waited for us to give him the go ahead on ordering parts. He worked during the heat of the day to replace our motors. We were pleased with his workmanship, friendliness and professionalism.

We were having a problem with our pool that was built in 1988. Losing water. Called Rex and he came out to check it out. We finally narrowed the problem down to the spa. Rex replaced old check valves and then proceeded to locate the leaks. Overall, it took about 2 weeks to find the leak and fix it. We still had water loss, but not as much. Rex continued to search for another leak and finally found it. Pool is water tight now. Also had Rex replace our old remote electronics with new PDA based system. We can now control pool/spa, cleaner, blower, heat on both spa and pool and lights all from a remote PDA. Our pool equipment is located under our deck and is not easily accessible. We enjoyed our experience with Rex. He has been around for a long time and really knows his stuff.

I chose this company because of the reviews on Angie's List, and for good reason. Rex was able to provide an estimate and recommendations over the phone. I was able to be "worked in" to the schedule very quickly in the super busy "pool season" so my pool did not turn in to a swamp without a working filter/ability to use the pump. He showed up when he said would, completed the work agreed upon and was on hand to answer my questions and direct me in the use of my new filter. Will continue to use this company.

I can't say enough good about Rex. He was on time for his repair appointments and his quality of service was excellent! Rex was good to tell me what he was doing and when he found unexpected repairs to do he had to go buy a pump to install. He was there on a Tuesday and said he would be back on Friday to finish. The experience started with me having used several other pool repair companies over the years with very little satisfaction. This time I decided to join Angie's List so that I could find someone a little more reputable. I would say this one experience alone more than paid for the cost of joining Angie's List. I read through numerous reviews of different pool repair companies but each seemed to have a few not so flattering reviews mixed in with some good. Not so for Aquatic Certified Technicians. All of Rex's reviews were extremely positive and for this reason I dialed his number immediately and am so happy that I did. Pool repair is scary. I'm a big do-it-yourselfer but had reached a point that it was just beyond my skill set. Having spent a lot on previous repairs with poor results I was skeptical of trying again. Just like the other reviews said, Rex immediately put my mind at ease. On the initial phone call he gave me some advice to try before he came out which I did. He then came exactly when he said he would and was extremely nice and professional. He was able to quickly tell me what he thought my problems were. He gave me suggestions on how I might fix some of the things myself before even offering to quote his price. After thoroughly listening to all my concerns he outlined what he would do to fix everything. Of course, I knew I was about to get hit with a very expensive proposal considering all that needed repair and was pleasantly surprised when I heard the number. Rex told me that he needed a warm day before he could apply the Deck-O-Seal. Low and behold the very first warm day we had Rex was calling to say he could come that day if it was ok with us. He did and not only did he knock out the Deck-O-Seal but he finished everything he had set out to do. The spa blower controller was determined to be bad at the point as he had previously suggested it might be so that had to wait. He was back the next afternoon to replace it as well. I only wish every contractor was like Rex. The work was flawless. He was a real down-to-earth guy that I thoroughly enjoyed meeting. I would confidently recommend Rex and Aquatic Certified Technicians to anyone in need of anything related to a swimming pool. Trust me, you won't be disappointed in the work, in the amount of time it takes to get the job done, in the prices or in the man himself. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rex did not only did a great job, he had a list of things for me to check before he came out to make sure I wasn't wasting money when it might have only been a breaker. I thought the heat pump was dead but it turned out to be a circuit board. Once the board came in it was promptly replaced and the tub is working like new.

Rex is wonderful! He is so dependable and trusworthy. We trust him completely to fix or replace whatever is necessary, I couldn't imagine using anyone else!

Rex is one of the most efficient, professional, kind gentleman I have ever done business with. I was ill at the time we were getting estimates to replaster and repair our pool and spa. He came out and gave an honest estimate to all costs that we might incure during the renovation. He came when he said he would come, he always came and check in to make sure things were going well. Unfortunatley he was right when he told us of additional problems we might have. He was very familiar with the work of the man that built our pool 25 + years ago. He did what needed to be done to make our pool work better than new. He continued to return and made sure chemicals were right and the pool and equipement were working properly. He did everything in his power to keep the cost to us down including personally replacing old tile that came off. I have not been able to sit and write a review about him because of illness and surgeries of my husband and myself. He started when he said he would, went out of his way to help us and he finished when he said he would. I am sorry that I did not provide him and his company with the glowing report they deserve at an earlier time. Anyone that uses Rex and Aquatic Cdertified Technicians will be very well taken care of and get an extremely good product and service Thank you Rex for your honesty and professionalism.

Excellent Jon Rex was outstanding

I've hired several well reviewed pool service providers from Angie's List with limited success. But now I've finally found ACT so the search for a reliable company is over! Thank you, Rex! He found the site of the leak pretty quickly, and he had it repaired and the system back on in a day. He let the system run for a few days to make sure everything was set before he filled in the hole and repoured the concrete deck. The repair is about as close to perfect as I could imagine. Our decking is a pebbled texture that is very hard to match, and I can honestly say I have to look twice to even see where the work was done. Rex and his assistant Steve went to a lot of extra trouble to find a pebble mix that really worked. Then he came out in a light rain to pour acid on the repair site to "age" the concrete. Now that's service! And one more thing... the pool pump also had a leak and Rex fixed that too - and didn't even charge us for it. He's a really nice guy, and Steve is a real artist with concrete! We're going to replaster and retile our pool next spring, and of course ACT is going to do it! Thanks again, Rex. We're looking forward to seeing you again soon.

I've had a bad experiance with another pool company and needed some work done with the pool. I read the Angies List reviews about Rex and was hoping he was all that was written. Rex came exactly when he said he was coming. He took care of all my pool issues-working late into the evening. He made sure everything was right before he left. As for as the price, I think all pool owners would like there pool problems fixed for under $50, but we know that never happens. The price was fair for the amount of time and parts that Rex put into my pool. I will never call any one else except Rex to work on my pool.

Rex was great. He even came by in the evening so my husband and he could go over the quote and answered all our questions. The work was done in the time frame given. We were very pleased with the work, and the pool looks even better than new!

An appointment was scheduled and they arrived promptly and listened to my story of failed attempts at getting my pool serviced correctly. They inspected my equipment and advised what needed to be replaced and also gave me options on the type of equipment. I relied on their suggestion for my size of pool and the type of use that it gets. I also have trees, so I went with the type of vacuum equipment that he recommended as well. I could not be happier with the decision that I made. They were prompt with installation and even followed up in person two weeks after completing the work to make sure everything was working as it should.

Rex Godbee, owner of Aquatic Certified Technicians, is a rare gem in the pool industry: he's very knowledgeable with over 30 years of pool equipment and service experience, he's affable, honest, reliable and timely even during the busy summer season, and his estimates are reasonable and competitive with other pool equipment technicians, which in summary makes him a better value for the money than any other pool technician I have met. He's the most open minded pool technician I've ever worked with too and is open to working with you on creative ideas, and he helps you vet those creative ideas with his years of experience and knowledge of what pool equipment will work well. I met Rex though William Ainsworth, the owner of Professional Pool Services of Texas, a highly rated pool service provider on Angie's List, and since recent Texas state laws now require pool technicians to be certified to install pool equipment, William recommended that I talk to Rex who he called "the master" to install a DE filter, stackable tab chlorinator, Nature2 unit, new Polaris 280 and booster pump. Rex came over and gave a competitive estimate so I had him perform the installation. All of the pool equipment was connected well, including the new Polaris booster pump timer that was connected to have a dependency on the main pool pump timer. Later in the spring, right before Memorial Day weekend, my old main pool pump went out. Even though Rex was busy the week before Memorial Day, he fit me into his schedule the Thursday before Memorial Day. During pool pump replacement, Rex and I discovered that the pool pump motor seal had been leaking for some time, causing the pool pump bearings to corrode and wear out, and also corroding connecting parts between the pool pump motor and the pool pump housing. It turns out that only one parts warehouse in the DFW area had the connecting part to my old pool pump housing, so Rex had a courier pick up the part on Friday, and since Rex knew my family wanted to enjoy the pool over Memorial Day weekend, Rex volunteered to cut into his own Memorial Day weekend and install the new pool pump motor and parts on the Saturday morning before Memorial Day. Because of Rex's dedication and good work, I'm gladly submitting this Page of Happiness.

Rex came out and gave us a quote on acid washing the calcium on our tile and rock among many other small things our pool needed. He was honest and gave us a very fair price. He even noticed our Polaris cord was too long (causing other problems) and fixed it (for FREE) before he left our house! Of course we decided Rex was the one to use, so he came out the following week and performed everything we asked him to plus more! Our pool looks so much better since he removed all that ugly calcium buildup! He even came back several times to adjust the chemical balance of the pool and make it look sparkly again! Rex was so nice and enjoyable to have around for a couple of days! We would recommend him in a heartbeat and will not hesitate to call him back!
