He was very professional and unusually humble person. We had an appointment set and he called me to say that he was having emergency issue in another city; he apologized and I totally understood. We reset it and he showed at that time. I wasn't even at home but he was very courteous. I am looking forward to do business with him.

I bought a Big Deal for them to come look at my roof and make small repairs. I organized everything on the phone and didn't even have to be on site when they came. They sent me a nice detailed report afterward about what they did with pictures. It also included pictures of problem areas that they recommended I address. Some of the problems were things they fix, others were just general recommendations. They ended up being things I could fix myself, so I didn't hire them for the extra work, but I would use them in the future.

We are happy with the work they did. Our roof still slopes in areas that will require new gutters and we just didn't want to spend the money for full replacement yet. We are happy with what they did. They were on time, efficient and effective.
Description of Work: We need out gutters leveled and reattached in a couple places to the roof. They also added two downspouts to direct water away from the house and avoid some discoloration we were having on the cement.

Purchased $99 Fall Special (knowing cost would be higher due to roof steepness/material) Dennis was responsive prior to and up to the work being performed Work performed was very poor No customer service after the sale Use caution, inspect the work performed and be very clear what is to be done Detailed pictures included with this review so you can be the judge I purchased All Year, Inc. $99 Fall Roof Maintenance Package after review of Angie's List reviews. Dennis Harrison was quick to respond and schedule a time to come inspect the work to be done. My wife conveyed that we had a faux slate roof and that he would need to order materials prior to work being done. Dennis was supplied with the manufacturer type, style and color of roof. He provided us a quick estimate for him to obtain the shingles necessary to complete the repair. The cost was to high so I ordered the shingles and advised him I would provide materials. Dennis came out to inspect the work to be done and provide an estimate. He advised roofing material used had problems and the manufacturer had multiple lawsuits and that they no longer installed that type of roof. He pointed out how roof materials and the installation were both were bad. All of which I understood and knew prior to his visit, but I am not willing to replace the entire roof system yet and just needed the repairs outlined. Dennis advised the Angie's List Package did not cover the steepness of my roof or extra hazard for roof material and steepness together. No problem. He said he would credit for the coupon purchased and I would just have to pay the difference. Again, no problem, I was happy to not only provide the materials but pay extra having read the Angie's list special details. It was all good to this point. The estimate (with $379 credit) was $496. Again, given what Denis described as way the repairs would be completed was consistent with what he wrote in his estimate. We signed the contract on 10/27 and he said he would likely complete repairs on Tuesday 10/30 but call us to schedule. He called on 10/31 and advised his crew was at the house and looking for roof materials. Also, he was having trouble describing to his two man crew what/where repairs were to be made. I drove home, met crew and showed areas. Dennis was not present / nor has he inspected work performed. The weather conditions were mist/light rain at the time of repairs. His crew was not prepared and did not have materials (flashing) to complete the job and had to go to hardware store to purchase. I could not wait for repairs to be completed and returned to work. Dennis started communicating through text messages and sent very poor pictures indicating work was done and was pushing for payment. Again, no problem, by now it was dark and asked my wife to call and provide credit card payment and I advised Dennis I would inspect the work next day. After inspection.... Problem. I took good photos and forwarded to Dennis and asked that he come inspect the work and make sure it was up to his standard. His responses were defensive and he shows no customer service at this point. Specifically, the first area of repair (see attached image from service contract) they did not replace any shingles simply cut metal flashing, shaped to area, tucked under drip edge/gutter against wall of house, bent and nailed into/through the top of shingles. Then caulked around nails and edges to prevent water from penetrating. I am no roofer, but all roofers have advised that there should not be any exposed nail heads that they are sources of leaks. The second area, they repaired they did in similar manner, they pulled fascia board away from house, broke it, slipped flashing underneath, nailed up board, smeared with caulking. Looks horrible. Further down in same area (see pics), they were to "remove and replace incorrectly installed shingles at bottom of valley". They removed no shingles, just slipped new shingles underneath two old ones on starter row, jammed flashing underneath valley to extend into gutter. The did not attempt to fix tar paper, drip rail, shingle overlays, etc. In short I paid $600 to replace two ridge row shingles ( they had to use my ladder to get up there? - again not prepared for the job), 12" square flashing bent 90 degrees slipped underneath drip rail and nailed through top shingles, broken fascia board, and two more flashing pieces staggered in valley of roof. I believe they may have stopped the leaks but repairs are shotty. I will now have to hire another roofer to come fix areas touched by All Year, Inc.
Description of Work: All Year, Inc. was contracted to repair three small areas on my roof. 1) Install two missing/damaged ridge shingles 2) Fix flashing in small area where wall/gutter abuts a short section of roof 3) fix valley area over back door where valley metal/shingles and drip edge were not installed correctly.

Response from ALL YEAR, INC Roofing & General Contracting
This is the very reason we typically walk away from these types of repairs. This gentleman's roof currently has a multimillion dollar class action lawsuit pending against the shingle manufacture because of its poor quality. On top of that, he unfortunately hired an inexperienced installer to install the roof which has leaked since the day they installed it. He was denied replacement by his insurance company and left to deal with these issues all on his own. I explained from day one that the roof systems it self was a very poor product currently under lawsuit and that the entire roof had been installed incorrectly by the installers. The homeowner expressed his aggravation regarding the insurance denial and poor installation and was desperate in his attempt to some how stop the leaks. Knowing, I should have simply provided a replacement estimate and walked away to protect the companies excellent rating history, I felt sympathy for his situation and agreed to do what we could and attempted to stop the leaks. I sent the guys out on a moments notice on a cloudy day with a slight chance of rain at Mrs. homeowners request. I explained when providing the estimate that their were approx. 3 jobs in front of them and that I would contact them when we were caught up. I received an email from Mrs. Homeowner, 2 days later wanting to know when we could get out there. I explained that there was rain in the forecast for the following day but as long as it was not poring down I would go ahead and just send the guys out to simply get this job done in order to satisfy their request. I also explained to Mr. Homeowner, that I would be unavailable because of the storms and that I would like for someone to please show the guys the leak locations as to ensure that my guys have everything that they need to properly assess and repair the leaks. She agreed. I sent 2 emails letting her know that we would be there no later than 10am the next morning. The guys arrived at 10am. No one home. I called Mrs. Homeowner, No answer. I called back 5 minutes later. No answer. I called back 15 minutes later, she answered. But asked that I call Mr. Homeowner. So at this point, we were rushed into starting the job ASAP, then when we arrived to accommodate the request, no one was home or available. After my guys sat at the job for 40 minutes on their day off, the homeowner arrived to give the materials to the men and point out the leak areas. My technician called me within 10 minutes of looking at the roof and explained that the roof needed to be replaced and no repair could guarantee to stop all of the leaks from entering the roof. I explained that although I agree with his findings, I had already agreed to do what we could and try to repair it as best we can. He found several openings at the bottom and top of the valley and repaired as such. The valley metal was ran to short allowing water in, so we added/extended with a new piece of metal. There was missing wall flashing creating a hole for water to enter at the wall, so we fabricated a new wall flashing piece and secured it to the wall and roof. Because of the poor quality installation of the entire roof system, these were our only options for repair. The repairs were performed and carried out just as the contract stipulated. In fact, we actually found and repaired other openings throughout the roof at no extra cost. However, I made it very clear that we could not guarantee that these repairs stopped all of the leaks and that water appears to be coming in from every direction. I have before and after photos turned in by the technician. He did exactly what we asked and literally all that he could considering the condition of the roof. We stand behind what was done. The technician that performed the repairs has been employed with our company for 22 years now. He is highly regarded within the industry and rated A+ ratings on virtually every job he works for us. Bottom line, we should have walked away from this one. The homeowner(s) were already upset at their position and obviously could not be pleased. I'm really not sure what they were expecting, but we did everything we proposed that we would do. Stop the leaks. Although we cannot guarantee to stop leaks on a poorly installed roof system such as this one. We are confident that we did stop the leaks that were pointed out to us. As a company, we have been in business for 59 years and currently perform a minimum of 8 million a year in total residential/commercial sales revenue. We are not in the business of ripping off homeowners for $400. All of that money went to pay the guys for agreeing to work on their day off, in the rain. Had the homeowner simply expressed his dislike regarding the repairs directly with me, I would have simply refunded his $400 and paid the $400 to the guys out of my own pocket to save our good name. Lesson learned on my part. The company made no money, and received a bad rating. It seems as though every time I try to help someone out, this is how I am thanked. There are always a few homeowners that ruin it for everyone else. We are disappointed that we were not able to please this customer and strive to earn and maintain our excellent reputation and A+ rating with every appointment.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out very well. I was very pleased with it. Initially, I thought we would have to get an entire new roofing, but on closer inspection, we were able to replace a few tile, and shingles, and stick with the original deal. They did a great job with that, and the price was as advertized. I had called, because I had some leaks that I could see from the inside, and they came and repaired that as well. I had to pay extra for that. The price was very reasonable for what they did.
Description of Work: We used All Year, Inc. Roofing & General Contracting.
Work was delayed once because I had bees nesting in the eaves, rescheduled date. Rained for several days, rescheduled date. Once started, work went quickly, very efficient and professional. Provided me with before and after pictures so I could see what was done. Provided one year warranty. Will call them the next time I need roof work. Seemed very trustworthy.
Description of Work: Replaced decking around chimney. Weatherproofed both chimneys. Replaced broken shingles. Remounted gutter and placed gutter guard on gutter under the tree. Checked roof and gutters for loose nails.

The provider called to make an appointment; we made it early so that I wouldn't be too late for work. That morning, he called to say he would be much later than anticipated. Being unable to hang around the house that long, we agreed that I did not need to be present, and he came over later and di the work. He called later to tell me that he had cleaned out my gutters and that there were no problems with my roof. It didn't rain again for a few weeks, but when it did, I saw that water was dripping from the gutter seams where they met in corners. Apparently the "tune-up" did not include ensuring that the gutters didn't leak. In all fairness, I did not ever call them to get them to come back. It just wasn't worth my time.
Description of Work: Provider was to clean and "tune up" gutters and inspect roof. I assume that's what they did.

The people at All Year were very professional. They took great care in being sure we were well informed about the procedures and processes involved. After being given sufficient time to consider the repairs we decided to go ahead with the contractor repairs needed. We were well informed about all the stages of repair. The workers were very friendly and professional. They took great care to see that we were satisfied with each stage of the project. Once they finished the entire job, Dennis, the All Year representative, called to see that we were satisfied and allowed us to give any feedback regarding the work performed. I cannot say enough about the smooth dealings with Dennis and All Year! No drama, no surprises, no disappointment. We highly recommend them as contractors for the services rendered and hope you have the same experience.
Description of Work: My $99 roofing service got me connected with a very knowledgeable roofer/contractor that determined the real extent of damage to my home and assisted me in getting it repaired fast and effectively. Having recently moved into this home, I was aware of some damage to the roof but not to the extent shown by the photos All Year took of my roof. With their assistance I was able to get my insurance company to approve the repair of damages to my roof, gutters and fencing. Being much much more than a roofing company, they were able to fix all the damages and restore my home to excellent condition. Now I don't have to be concerned about leaking and water damage from damaged gutters.

A little background: My initial contact with All Year was through a Big Deal roof inspection. Rhett suggested I put in a claim for hail damage, which I did. My adjuster's initial estimate was less than my deductible so I assumed that I would have to pay for a new roof myself. When I gave Rhett the news he advised me to take the claim to the next level, which is for All Year to engage an independent appraiser at their expense and have him and my adjuster duke it out. My adjuster did a 180 and agreed to replace the entire roof! Like magic. All Year accepted the insurance settlement plus my deductible as payment in full. Without All Year I would never have known there was a next level. Dennis took over my project and my roof was replaced in one day, with the minor non-roof damage cited by my adjuster corrected the next day. Three high-wind days followed and Dennis was quick to return to reset a few tabs that rolled up. Great clean-up of debris. Even fixed my broken fence gate at no extra charge.

They arrived one day ahead of schedule; no one was home. They completed the work and provided pictures of work done. Other communications were conducted via email. I'm not sure the gutters on the back side of the house over the garage were cleaned. After the recent rain, trash came out of the bottom of the gutters on each side. I wish the covers had been installed on the back side of the house also. I might call them back later to do that part. I didn't do any shopping around so I don't know whether the price was a good one or not, but I'm satisfied.

After I purchased the deal for gutter cleaning, I called and they asked to first come out and take a look at my gutters (and give a quote for any additional repairs that might be needed). They left me a couple of quotes, ranging from just doing the bare minimum to replacing my gutters with something that wouldn't need maintenance/cleaning. I chose to go with the "bare minimum" option for now, and they came out and did the work. I was very happy that I didn't need to be at home for any of this -- they left me the quotes at my door, I did all the appointment-making and decision-making and paying over the phone. So it was all very convenient for me and I was satisfied with their service.

They were very fast to respond to our deal. They came out to provide details about the services included as part of the Deal. We also wanted quotes to install gutters, ridge vents, gutter covers and to install a more effective dryer vent. The crew came out as scheduled and performed the work. The crew had questions about installing the ridge covers over just the house or to also include the garage. Only so much of the vent material was included in the quote. There was a language barrier in the explanation of actual installation, so I just opted to have the venting split over the house and the garage. I wish we had opted to put all the venting material over the house because the garage venting is so small compared to the rooftop so it looks odd. The dryer vent installed on the roof needed to have a separating internal (in the attic) piece installed, but this was not included in the price. We contacted All Year about how to proceed with the attic portion of the installation and this is when we got the impression that this was not their job. We ended up contracting a different company, an A/C duct and vent cleaning company to perform the work. Separate from the dryer vent, the previous owners of our house had a small, cheap wire garden fence installed next to our house and during the installation of the downspouts, the downspout was attached to the side of the house through the cheapo-chicken wire of the fence. After the frustration with the dryer vent, I didn't want to bother having the roofing crew come out to address the issue. To resolve this, I used wire cutters to remove this portion of the wire fence from behind the permanently attached downspout. It just seems odd that instead of asking us about how to install the downspout around this little garden fence, that they decided to just bolt the downspout through the cheap chicken-wire. I'm not very satisfied with the quality of the gutter covers. During heavy rain, the rain pours over the gutter instead of inside the gutter. This may be an issue with the way the house is designed, but I just assumed that gutters would help prevent a downpour of rain over the edge of the house (especially in front of the front door, which is actually the only entrance to the front of our house). This is only our second home, and our first time to live in an older model house. We were naive with the dryer vent issue. The overall result was good, but in hindsight, I feel we could have gotten a better deal for the overall work. We should have performed a little more research, but we had just moved into the house and had a checklist of items to address among other things. Currently, we have a small roof repair that needs to be addressed. This is separate from the All Year Roof repair that was performed. However, we are going to find a different contractor this time around.
