The FloorMender has been a family owned business since 2001. We are backed by 35 years experience. We are an A+ member of the Better Business Bureau. We have a $2 million general liability policy and we offer a three year warranty. While installing a new carpet may cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, restretching your current carpet only costs $99 for the first room and $65 for each additional room. Rooms are up to 144 square feet. That's a huge savings! The minimum charge of $150 covers most small repairs, others require an additional cost. Texas resident’s carpets may need repairs or re-stretching if large ripples develop over time. Ripples and bumps in the carpet may become hazardous and are unsightly. Carpet may shift over time due to heavy traffic patterns, moving large pieces of furniture or poor installation. Utilizing professional stretching tools and over 35 years experience, Kevin Benton can remove these by pulling the carpet across the room and trimming the excess before re-tacking the carpet. In some cases the carpet may need to be cut then re-seamed to remove the ripples. Most carpet repairs or re-stretching can be done by TheFloormender without you moving the furniture out. Carpet repairing and re-stretching, may also be needed to finish off the edge if new flooring, such as tile, stone or wood is installed in areas transitioning into carpet. Most hard surface installers do not do this type work properly. TheFloormender can install new tackless strips, stretch and cut the carpet and then use an appropriate transition technique to complete the edge neatly and professionally. TheFloormender also offers : carpet cleaning 3 areas $133.99, 4 areas $178.99, 5 areas $206.99, Air duct cleaning, each thermostat $299.95, Tile cleaning $1.10per sq ft, clean and seal $1.35 sq ft, minimum $150. Upholstery sectional $169.99, sofa$99.99, loveseat $89.99, chair $45.99, Kitchen chair seat only $20, seat and back $30. Ottoman $29.99. Minimum charge $150.

Description of Work: Installed existing carpet around a new toilet in a half-bath and removed wrinkles from existing carpet in our master bedroom. One man worked in each room and the work was done perfectly with no problems. It was apparent that these guys were very experienced carpet installers, not carpet cleaners who do carpet laying on the side.

He came out exactly when he said he would and did a great job. The carpet looks very nice now.
Description of Work: Our carpet had several areas that had wrinkles in it. I had put off getting them fixed because I didn't know if they could be fixed. The areas were in doorways. I called to make an appointment thinking it would take him a couple of weeks to get to us. However, he had an opening the very next day due to another cancellation in our area. So I was quite pleased to get on his schedule so quickly. I had a few areas where the carpet was wrinkled and he looked at them and said he could fix them for us. He got to work immediately and worked for over 2 hours stretching, trimming and re-seaming the carpet. He was very nice and professional and did a great job. I definitely recommend him to anyone needing any type of carpet repair!

Kevin and his helper arrived on time. He explained what they needed to do to get rid of the wrinkles, went right to work and fixed the problem within 90 minutes. The cleanlup was as professional as the repair. I would highly recommend The Floor Mender for any type of carpet repair. They are real pros. And very reasonable.
Description of Work: We have a long hall that is used by humans, as well as four dachshunds on the way from our living areas (tiled) to the room where their overnight sleeping cages are located. This stretch of carpet naturally gets far dirtier than our other carpeting in the bedroom areas. Overzealous use of water in cleaning the carpet had left it with several waves, or wrinkles. We needed to have it stretched to make it lie smoothly again.

They did a good job of stretching the carpet as requested; the finished product looks very good. They did a reasonably good job of cleaning fabric and scraps. The experience with trimming the area rug were not as positive; while the finished product is good, they damaged the underlying hardwood with nail-holes and knife scratches. They did not take any noticable precautions to protect the hardwood; thus the damage. I would recommend them heartily for their primary service, that of restretching carpet; however, I would be hesitant in using them for any other carpet related needs.

It always looks great when he's completed and you never know he's done anything to it.
