Nobody likes to have a roof done but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Preston Collins and his team were very professional and punctual, actually showed up early both days (before 7:00 am), made the experience. I was concerned about the clean up afterwards but they exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend Phillips, a little higher priced than the fly by night roofers around now but they did and excellent job and I know they will be around to honor their 5 year warranty on labor!

All things considered, it went very well. There was much xtra work and materials needed when it was discovered that the decking along many edges had to be replaced due to rotting which was handled in the course of the project.

They were great. They had a plan and it played out as they side it would. They coordinated everything. They were professional with uniforms and trucks with sign on them. They showed up in the morning, did a great job and worked full days.

It feels like a new house. Very happy with the work.

I requested a quote for exterior painting of my home with repair of a few areas along the eaves where there was some wood rot. I also needed to patch and repaint the ceiling due to a small area of water damage. The quote I received was for over $16,000! Our house is not large and the wood repair was not significant. The quote for the ceiling patch and paint alone was $1,600 because they have an $800 a day minimum. I was floored! I hired another reputable contractor who did all of the work for $10,000 less than the Phillips quote. TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS!!! And that ceiling patch and paint? I paid my contractor $400 for it. A quarter of the price Phillips wanted to charge me. Do your research and always get multiple quotes! This just makes me sick!

We had an excellent experience with Phillips painting. They used very good quality materials in the paint and the wood that needed to be replaced. The workers were prompt, professional, and did a great job cleaning up when done. I have already recommended Phillips Painting to friends and would definitely call upon them again in the future.

They did really good work but their customer service was poor. I was notified that they were on the way to repair my house after I already, they didn't told me in advance they just called me to tell me that they were on their way and I had already left for work, had no plans on taking a day off said that they had called and emailed but I never received either calls or emails.

They did a great estimate for us. My husband really liked them but they were very expensive so we went with someone else. They were great but they were just really expensive. They came out and gave me a quote. My husband was very impressed by them.

Worst experience I've had with any company working inside or outside my home ever! I was told by Robby Phillips when he bid for the job that it would take an estimated 2 to 2 ½ days to complete. I stressed to him on several occasions before I accepted his bid that if he thought there was any chance at all that they would need more time than me taking off two days of work, that I couldn’t accept their bid or would need schedule the work at a later date. He assured me that if I allowed them to start Thursday morning, they would definitely be completed before Monday because he had a larger crew than other contractors who had given me a bid with a 5 day timeline - so I accepted his bid. By the end of the 6th day, I was fed up with them and just wanted them out of my house. There was still touching up left to do; they left huge messes in every room that they had worked in (i.e. texture & paint dropped everywhere and not cleaned up, sloppy paint lines); the color in the master bath wasn't what I had selected; they didn't use the baseboard that they removed in the half bath to color match (as I requested) when putting new baseboard on and it was very noticeable because the new color no longer matched the door frame and door; the texture they put in the upstairs game room was not the style I selected (they used the style that I selected in the kitchen rather than matching the style used on other walls in the game room which I clearly asked them to do); and the patching work that they did was absolutely horrible (just big clumps of texture that they painted over). Also, until I complained, they didn’t remove light fixtures, towel bars, toilet paper holders, etc. and patch holes, texture and paint behind them as I had requested, but instead, they just painted around them. Additionally, on day 1, they covered the entire kitchen and master bath with plastic and tape, including taping up the doors to the garage and back yard, and left it there the entire 6 days while they worked on other rooms in the house. This made it impossible to use the master bath and kitchen – including the doors to the garage and back yard in which I used to let my dog in and out of the back yard. Instead, I had to go in and out the front door and around the back through a gate. It would have been much more convenient for me if they had completed those two higher priority rooms first and then gone on to the other rooms. It ended up taking them 6 days because they never showed up on time in the mornings, only showed up with a full crew of 5 or 6 workers the first day (actually only ½ day because they didn’t show up until late Thursday afternoon) and on the remaining days, they only had one person working most of the time (no more than two people) and that person couldn’t speak much English. Phillips’ bid was at least $900 more expensive than the other bids I received for the same work, but after many discussions with Robby, he convinced me that with their larger crew, they could complete the job within my required timeline and that I would be so much happier with the higher quality of work that they would provide me. That turned out not to be the case at all – both in the timeline and quality of workmanship! Painting/texturing work that I had done prior to Phillips’ and work that I have had done since has been 1000% better in quality and overall experience. I emailed Robbie, spoke with someone in their office, then forwarded my email to Luke and sent a letter expressing my displeasure to them in the mail but I never got a response. I will NEVER use them again nor recommend them to anyone. In fact, I have advised many of my friends to stay away from them.

Pricing was 4x all other bids. Outrageous.. If they didn't want the job. Just say so and do not waste my time to be here for a quote

Rep showed up and looked at 2 jobs for me..The rep was very knowledgeable and professional. He looked at both houses for a couple of hours and advised me he would e-mail a bid. That was the last I heard from them..No call back...No bid..

The gutters are great. The painting looks great as well but had to prompt them to paint the roof vents and pipes even though it was quoted. I have two issues, one they said they could fix my door which has some wood damage. One the job was started they said they couldn't it was too damaged. I had to replace it. The other is the overspray and dropped paint. On the brick on the sides of my garage doors they left paint marks also on the back deck there were several paint drops larger than a quarter. They were one of the higher priced but I felt good about the care they would give - that did not happen. They did want to clean up the paint but after several trips out with them saying they can not find anything (I could not take off work) I gave up.

The estimate they gave me was a bit overpriced in my opinion.

It took two tries to get it right. The company sent one painter to my home who was supposed to sand and paint two doors, as well as replace some weatherstripping. While the painter was working, I called Phillips to tell them he had not sanded the doors good enough and in some places not at all. A supervisor came to my home to follow up. He talked with the painter who said he was using a paint/primer combination. I told the supervisor that was a problem, that the new enamel paint was being put on top of latex, which I wanted removed, but the supervisor left, assuring me I would be satisfied with the result. I was not. The workmanship was sloppy. He did not remove the door hardware - he painted around the strike plate and the door knob and left paint on the knob. He painted most of the door frames but did not paint up to the corners where they meet the wall. The damaged weather stripping was not replaced. Afterwards I called the supervisor to complain. He said he would return to my home within a couple of days with the weather stripping and different painters. I waited two weeks but he never called, never came by. Phillips did, however, send me an invoice for $700.00. I sent an email to the sales rep and shortly thereafter received a call from a Phillips supervisor who said they wanted to fix the problems. The company returned today with two different painters who did a fine job. They sanded the doors and door frames thoroughly, filled in door frame imperfections, and applied a fresh coat of enamel. The production supervisor came by with weatherstripping that was nicely applied. I am very satisfied with the results from today's painters. However, because I think $700 is an outrageous price for painting two doors, there will not be a next time with this company for me.

Exceptional well. The staff were very professional, attention to details and very skilled at their trade. They communicated well and always left area clean. Shannette Francis the project Manager was a difference maker and look forward to working with her on other projects.

Bad paint job on cabinets. The cabinets were stained and they were to paint them an off white color. The smell was so strong that the workers spent more time outside than in. The name & brand of paint was previously agreed upon but they began painting with a cheap paint that was the wrong color. When I complained, it was changed. They painted over nails that were small and could be pulled out with your hand. No holes were filled. Doors were not removed from cabinets and paint was left on hardware and other parts. I was told what I could use to clean areas myself. I called/text the same number for same Phillips employee (Brad) that I had always used and informed him that after checking closely during daytime, it was obvious that the cabinets were not painted well. I left a message requesting he return so that I could point out the problems. He never returned my call. He did not replace all knobs that were removed, and incorrectly replaced two door knobs. I was told I needed parts that I did not need. The problems were immediately noticeable to painters I called for estimates to re-paint the cabinets

Phillips Gutters came to my house and completed the work as promised. I was not home when the work was performed but when I returned home I was able to see the work completed. To my untrained eye it looks like it will control water the next time it rains. But in the meantime it has not rained yet. One complaint I have was when I checked my mail today there was debris left in the yard. It seems some old shingles (I hope they are old) were left in the front by the house with some other plastic. Maybe what hold screws, not really sure. And to the right of my house there seemed to be a lighter left behind. I did not have time to clean it up today but will plan to clean it up this weekend. Other than that I am pleased so far.

The work was done efficiently and as specified. My only comment is that I like a little more regular communication about schedule. That's not a big issue

The crew was excellent! They were done in a little over 3 hours. It was a team of 3 that showed up and got straight to work as soon as they got there. Also cleaned up very thoroughly at the end of the job was just a great company from beginning to end!

UPDATE: I encountered some problems but the President of the company straightened them out. My communications with the President were sincere and so was his apology and his actions to correct the problem.

They were on time, professional, took extra care to cover everything in plastic, everything in the kitchen, the cupboards, light fixtures, baseboards, plastic on counters, toilets, showers in the bathrooms, put plastic down on the carpet of all rooms leading to the bathrooms. They worked as a well-oiled team, and were very efficient. They returned the next 2 days at the time they said they would, to complete the job. Then they cleaned up everything, then vacuumed and washed the window in the kitchen dining area. I am very pleased with their work and have nothing but praise for the team that came to my home. I love the results!!

Today was a third chance for Phillips Painting. The Service Manager called this morning to first apologize for his estimator not being available on Saturday and asked if I would have time to meet with someone else. I advised that I would be home and that he could schedule an estimator to drop by. The newly assigned estimator called me and advised that she could be at my house in 10-15 minutes if I was available. The estimator was at my house within 5 minutes and she was very informative and seemed to know what she was talking about. She more than redeemed any bad feelings I might have had towards this vendor.

This was a great experience. The company was very nice, on time, did everything that was asked and were very fast. Cleaned up everything after the work was completed. Awesome Job. They made 2 follow up calls after the gutter was repaired and then another follow up call after the carpenters and painters had finished to make sure I was satisfied. I am very pleased with the outcome!

I contacted Phillips in mid June about replacing the wood trim and painting the house. They stated they were backed up due to all of the rain and it would be around 4 to 6 weeks before they would have a crew available. I know that everyone was backed up since there was a lot of rain in the previous months. This was OK, but then I had the job dates changed twice and then we agreed that they would start on Monday 7/27, but late the week before they were to start, I was informed that they could not get the proper crew until 7/30, which would put the work into the weekend. I informed them I was not happy with the change and they said that they would get the job done by Friday 7/31. They did arrive on the scheduled date and time, but I was surprised there was only a 2 man crew. I had them do a job 4 years ago for hail damage and it was done with a larger crew than this one (less work). They did replace the wood trim and did a lot of prep work the first day. The second day they completed all of the painting. Overall the job was good, but after talking with my neighbor, I wish that I had used a different outfit to replace the wood trim. The crew that Phillips used did not have an experienced carpenter in my opinion (they did an OK job, not excellent). They used multiple layers of wood trim instead of the original thickness. They also did not use window membrane tape around the windows when replacing the wood to seal out leaks. They also did not use treated wood that would last longer. My neighbor had his trim replaced and the outfit that he hired did all of this as part of their process. Unfortunately I found this out after my job was done. If I had it to do over again, I would hire a different company for the wood/ trim replacement and then have Phillips do the painting.

Their price was almost double for the same service from another company. Didn't go with them.
