They have taken about 2 months to get me a quote and I still haven't the correct quote. The way I look at it is that they don't want my business. I will not use them and I will go with another service provider.

The rotten siding on my chimney was resulting in a massive roof leak that was quickly destroying drywall on vaulted ceilings. Phillips showed up ontime for the bidding process, came in almsot 25% less than the other 3 bids for the same work. They had me on the schedule very quickly and finished the work in record time, matched my paint beautifully and did a great job. When another roof leak popped up, I called them back again! Would recommend in a heartbeat!

It was very good. They worked with us on price. They were $150 to $200 higher than another estimate we got. They matched that price. We would definitely use them again.

Once I got the estimate and the job scheduled, it went fine. The estimate was a bit rough, as I was given the estimate for the exterior, but the interior and deck were to follow; the rep lost the dimensions and asked that I provide him with the dimensions so he could complete the estimate. Not what I would expect from Phillips as other companies that were bidding on the project took excellent notes, were prompt on submitting the bid and broke down the estimate to all points we had discussed. However, once the job started, a seven man team came in an completed rebuilt rotted wood areas, cleaned, primed and painted the exterior beautifully. They just kept moving to the next project and were cleaning up behind themselves so there was never a lot of paint or tools lying around. All in all, the team was great; respectful, detailed and fast. A great painting experience.

The estimator arrived on time, but did not want to stay to finish out the quote process as he said he had other places to be. Although he was very knowledgeable he talked down and came off as rude. We came to the conclusion that after seeing the job (an entire exterior re-paint and minor carpentry he just did not want the job). His quote was 3 to 4 times greater than the quote that we will go with.

I found Phillips Painting through Angie's List and contacted them to request an exterior painting estimate. They returned my inquiry email the following business day and came out one day later to provide an estimate. I wasn't home for the estimate, but Jay contacted us both with an email attachment and by phone to explain the recommended services and cost. They recommended some repairs in addition to the painting and one repair we were prepared to have done; when we mentioned that we knew we'd eventually need those additional repairs but didn't want to do them right now, we were met with no pressure whatsoever. We selected Phillips for this job because the price seemed fair, they were courteous and professional, they stayed in touch with us and responded to our many questions during the estimate phase, they were extremely knowledgeable about paint and repairs, and because we were able to move the job along at our own pace. They came out on time, completed all work as promised, and finished a half-day sooner than expected. Their idea of what a finished job looks like was impressive -- all caulking around the windows was replaced, broken nails were fixed, patio furniture was moved and replaced as it had been, etc. They did most of the work without us needing to be home. We had some confusion about the color of the back door -- but when we called to say that we had wanted it a different color than the main color of the house, they came out within an hour and re-painted it. The quality of the paint job is excellent -- smooth and consistent, no errant marks, very skillfully done. My only complaint is that we found several caulk container tips around the perimeter of the house. This is overall a very professional company -- they were fair and honest and trustworthy. We liked that we were assigned to work with just one person whom we could contact directly, instead of having to call the main office, and the crew that came out were equally professional. We have already recommended them to a friend and plan to use them again in the future.

crew and work were good. started early and finished early. price was a little higher than other estimates but close enough to use. the estimator, dave, was very professional and sold us on using his company. he stayed in touch during and after the job and dealt with the changes we had. easy and good to work with him.

Estimate was conducted on time and thoroughly. I was told that I would be contacted when the work would start and I would only need to be home for the 'final walk-through' to inspect the work. A crew showed up to do the pre-work (power wash and caulking). This was fine, however he did not have the estimate which contained all of the work to be completed nor paint colors which he needed for the following day. Before leaving he stated he would get started on Saturday at noon. Saturday's work got started around 3:30pm. Again, the crew did not have a sheet of what I needed done (repair of door frame) so I had to walk him through the site to ensure everything that was to be completed. As it turned out I did need to be home as all three doors had to be opened while repainted to remove the weather stripping (I had to put this back into place the following day). The work was not completed until 7:30 pm. The complete time is relevant because full payment is expected after the job is completed and you complete a walk-through to inspect the work. I am not sure how you are to inspect an exterior paint job when its dark out? Also note that I left a total of 6 voice mails (3 with the sales contact & 3 with the main office 1)where are the painters? 2) why doesn't he have his list of required work 3)how can you expect payment when I can't inspect the work?) while this work was being done and never received any follow up for information. Overall, this was an awful experience especially considering they are highly rated on Angie's List.

The Phillips crew took approximately 3 days to complete the job. They were very prompt, clean and courteous. The days were long (typically 9am-7pm) which we did not mind as we were eager to have the job completed. As with any painting job touch-up areas were required. They provided blue tape so that we could mark and they completed all touch-ups prior to completing the project. In some cases they went the extra mile and painted a few additional door jams that was not on the quote just so they matched the folding doors we asked to be painted. They also repaired various nicks and dents in the baseboard and used Oil based paint on all doors, door jams and baseboards. Overall and outstanding job for a great price.

It worked out well and they were very good. My experience with them was pretty effortless. I called and they were able to come out and assess the issue promptly and they even came after hours so that I wasn?t inconvenienced by it. They did the actual repairs on a Saturday while we were out.

They were great. They showed up when they said they would. They got the job done. I give them a "B" overall, which is a really good rating for me.

Robby came out and provided a very detailed estimate for the work to be completed. We were moving at a snail's pace in making our decision, but Robby was very good about following up with us to see how the decision making process was going, and also provided further details on reference jobs for us to check out. After we gathered five total quotes, we ended up choosing another crew to do the work. They provided a very comparable quote as far as detail, promised workmanship, and promised quality. The deciding factor was that they came in at almost half the price. Price was my only concern with Phillips; they came in at 33-50% higher than the other 4 quotes we received.

They went to all extremes to do a beautiful job. They were on time, professional and timely. The quality of their product exceeded my expectations. They caulked everything, and taped everything off on the exterior that wasn?t to be painted. They cleaned up very well afterwards. I was very pleased with them. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.

They did a real good job and I was very pleased with their service. There was some problem with the garage door and I was not able to open it correctly so I called them. They sent out a garage door company and got the part replaced from the garage door. They paid for the garage door repair. I have recommended them to a friend from church and he is very happy with their painting work.

We had some issues with scheduling due to the massive amount of rain in the early fall, but once the job began everything went smoothly and the exterior paint on the house looks great!

They did an excellent job. They did my house and my mother's house because she lives next door. I really have no complaints.

We obtained three bids for this job. Phillips was in the middle. We choose them because of their rating in Angie's list. Dave Stephens came to our home to provide the estimate and was the project manager for this job. He estimated the job would take 1.5 days. We agreed they would start on Friday and finish on Saturday. Dave and I used a email and phone calls to communicate. We wanted a specific color so I asked Dave to provide a sample to make sure the paint color was what we wanted. We were told the painters would arrive between 8 and 10 to start the job. When it got to be 11:00 I called Dave to find out where the painters were. I had to leave a message. He called back and said to call him if they did not arrive by noon. When they did not arrive I called Dave again. He didn't know at that point what happened. He called back to say the painter had to finish another job and never called him to let him know this. We rescheduled the job to start Monday. On Monday the painters arrived. The lead painter had the order but he couldn't read it well because he coudn't see. He needed new reading glasses apprarently. This concerned me because how can he paint if he can't see well. The painter then asked me if I had the paint. I told him Dave said he would bring the paint. So the lead painter left for two hours to go to the paint store while the other painter remained behind to prep the area. They arrived late a few mornings they were here. The job, of course, took longer than 1.5 days. The outside fences were painted with a high gloss black paint which was recommended. This was fine but they also painted our front door in this high gloss black and it looked terrible. Dave never asked if we wanted the front door this way. They repainted it with a flat black and we split the cost in labor to do this. I felt we were partially responsible for not stopping them in the middle of painting the door. I had to ask Dave to come to the house to look at the door and some of the other areas. I thought that as the project manager he should have checked on the work being done, periodically. We had to thoroughly go over all the work because there was a lack of attention to detail by the painters. They were also very messy. We paid for the job. Then a few days later we found the paint in the laundry room was cracking. I sent Dave an email about this. He asked me to send him pictures. I did but it would have been better customer service if he had come to see it in person. We also then found an area in the hallway that needed to be fixed and noticed that the door hardware had paint on it. We were told the painters would remove the hardware to paint but it was obvious this did not happen. Dave finally came over to see these other issues in person. We agreed that the painters could come back the next week to fix this. Dave said he would let me know when they could come. He emailed me and asked if Saturday, October 10 at 9:00am would work. We said yes. On October 10 at 10:00am no one had arrived yet. I called Dave's cell phone two times to notify him of this and find out when they were coming. He never returned my call. I called a third time to let him know to reschedule. On Monday October 12 I received a call from Phillips painitng customer service stating that the painter was to come on Saturday. I told them that no one showed up. She stated the painter came at 1:30. I told her he was to arrive at 9:00am. She put the office supervisor on the phone. At this point I was very upset. She said she would send an email to the owner and the manager of their painting division. I received a call from the painting manager and he apologized. He stated that he dropped the ball because he had been sick and didn't folllow up with the painter like he should have. The painter decided he would go to another job first and then to ours. He also said that Dave had gone on vacation so that was why he didn't call me back. I told the manager that Dave should have given me another contact number then. He agreed. He scheduled a new painter for Tuesday afternoon at 1:00. Then I received a voice message from the owner stating he was going to meet with his staff to find out what happened; he apologized and stated that this was not how Phillips Painting did business. He stated in his message that he would call me back on Tuesday to explain his findings. He never called me again. Dave never called me again. The painter did show up on time on October 13 and had to come back again on Wednesday, October 14 to finish up. No one in management followed up to make sure we were satisfied. This company did a poor job communicating not only with me but internally. This apparently stems from the top of the organization as the owner never called me again as he said he would. I think that given the mistakes made here they should have issued us some credit for the aggravation. We were okay with the actually results of the painting once they finished. I was also glad they came back to fix these things after we had already paid them.

They were wonderful and great. They were professional and helpful. They also did what they said they were going to do. I was very pleased with them and I have recommended them to others. The price charged by them was reasonable too.

I called and they arranged an appointment for an estimator to come out within a few days. He was prompt and professional and answered all my questions. I had received a higher quote from another company, which offered very high quality gutters, but as I am not intending on staying in my house long-term, Phillips Gutters pricing was in line with what I felt was reasonable. I signed on for them to do the work and the estimator called me when he said he would to let me know when the work would be. It was done a week later just as promised and cleaned up well. They didn't even require a deposit to start the work. Very good experience and I definitely would recommend them to anyone.

I got multiple estimates. They weren?t the lowest bid, but they had the best quality. They did the work really quick, and I am a very happy customer.

I called to get an estimate on painting our master bedroom and stairway and to repair the wall where water had gotten in. Jeff Hahs came out and talked with my husband. He gave a written estimate to Paul. We tried one other paint place but Jeff's estimate was more in line with what had to be done. I faxed him the signed estimate but didn't hear from him so I called Jeff's office We discussed the bid and set up a date for the job. I had to call him again with the colors we wanted. The painters came 8/6 and got right to work. They put the furniture in the middle of the room and covered it with plastic and started painting. They did a good job putting up the plastic. There wasn't any paint on anything. We also looked at a possible leak in the wall. Jose was very nice about showing me where the leak was coming from. The 2nd day, the time kept changing on when the painters would show up. They finally did. They did the baseboards and window ledges. They cleaned up after themselves. Jeff wasn't there when it came time to pay the bill. The painters were not sure of the amount. We showed them the bid and paid the amount on the bid. I've had to request a copy of the invoice showing it had been paid from Jeff.

My overall experience with them was very good. They came when they said they would and cleaned up after themselves.

Just another note to add about the work, The wood is all rough cedar and it required not only spraying but following up with a brush over it all.

We received quotes from 3 different companies and chose Phillips because they were the most thorough in going over what needed to be repaired etc. This led us to believe the other companies would start a project then suddenly find an issue which would tack on more to the price. The first day they spent removing and making repairs to several places on the house including fascia boards and also adding a strip of hardy cement board to the lower part of a piece of siding to help prevent any further damage, by using the hardy board and specifically mentioning that in the contract was also an incentive for us. If you have any experience painting, caulking or making any repairs you would realize the crew that worked on our house knows what they are doing, feel they did an excellent job on the caulking. The second day was spent painting, they use Kelly Moore acrylic, we have no experience with it so will not have a direct opinion on the quality of paint for some time. I was hoping would find reviews from others after their house was painted to indicate how well the paint is holding up. Just one coat was applied by spray and the color chosen is decidedly lighter than what was already on the house. It has covered fine so time will tell on that one. We bought them a pizza for lunch on the second day to try and show some appreciation of how well we thought their craftsmanship was and I guess as a thank you they painted our garage door, not something we had specified to have done as we are considering replacing it, but now they have given us some time to consider and we really did think it was very nice of them to do so. Also want to mention the sales person who did the original quote was once again quite thorough in looking at what needed to be done, followed up well and once the job was finished also called again. All in all a nice experience. Want to thank all those who have posted on this company previously as that also played a part in our consideration of using this company.

Took several days for tare-down/removal before starting work. But work was excellent. When they discovered what they thought was termite damage they informed us. Our exterminator came on site inspected and decided that it was water damage, typical with siding & guttering. Phillips replace all damaged wood and then started replacing all the fascia & soffitt board with "hardiboard." They painted when completed and the job looked like a new home.
