Of the four companies from whom I had requested proposals/estimates, three responded with excellent offers and estimates within the first week. Phillips could not provide me with an estimate for about 3 weeks. Since I had already received 3 quality estimates before my appointment with Phillips and was ready to select one of them the for job, I cancelled my appointment with Phillips.

The story is not finished as I am still waiting for them to get back to me and fix their mistakes and paint my master bedroom. The salesman came out. very professional, gave me a bid. It seemed like a fair price so I hired them, their ads are very impressive. The painter showed up on time, did his work fast and left. Were he painted the ceiling in the master bathroom, he had left tape around recessed light, removed it but, didn't paint around light. I did not notiice it for a long time because when the light is on you really can't tell as it is very bright & I do not spend time looking at high ceiling. I am a disabled single woman. When I first saw it I thought it, I didn't know what was wrong except it didn't look right. There were triangle shaped darker areas around light. Asked a friend to see what he thought was wrong....he said they left the tape on to protect light, but never painted arount the light. Called many times to speak with owner about problem,but, they claim that I didn't & there is no way I can prove what I said on telephone calls, but I have no reason to lie. When the painter returned he asked me for the paint for the ceiling, I told him that I did not have the paint, they provided the paint for the ceiling & I provided the paint for the bedroom. The painter when out to his truck and painted arount light. Again I did not notice that there was anything wrong for some time as the light is bright and is located over shower. When I did see it - it really stands out. Its a brighter whiter white paint arount the light. I also do not think that he painted in the water closet the first time he painted, but I am not sure. Now that I have more painted that needs to be done & wanted them to fix their mistake I caled again. The same salesman, said that they were not that busy and he could do the job that Friday or next Friday, so I got my room ready, but no phone call to let me know when they were coming. I called today hoping to get an answer, but the salesman has not returned my call. Well, the day after I posted on Angie's List I received a call from the salesman. We set up a time for the room & ceiling paint and everything when very well. The painters came early and did a great job. The only complaint I have is that they charged me to redo the ceiling in the master bathroom that had all the troublle with, I would say they did a great job. I do not know why it took so long to get things done. The job was completed on 06/10/11. Updating on 8/23. When they came back on 6/10 to finish the work, they painted over defects on the wall and dripped ceiling paint on my tub, which wasn't noticable through the walkthrough.

Awesome as usual, this is the 4th time I have used Phillps - Luke was on time and professional as always and offered a new product for my wood fence that was the same price as traditional stain, but would last two to three times longer. Fence was power washed twice - due to inclement weather before the stain was applied - a solid stain. It looks amazing - better than I had hoped for. The work was done in one day - and every thing was cleaned up none of the landscaping was damaged. Couldn't ask for any better service.

They were very professional. It was really quick. They were on time. I feel very comfortable recommending them.

Received the quote, which never varied, and was given the date work would proceed. Unfortunately it rained that day. They called that morning and rescheduled for the following morning. Crew arrived on time, worked a long day, and returned the next day to finish work.

They are so good at working with you. They insure you understand what they are doing and why. The quality of the workmanship is great. I had one issue and called and they came out right away that same day to fix it. Everything they offer is superb and off the charts! They aren’t cheap, but are certainly impressive.

Luke Rock came out initially to get the measurments - on time and very professional. The team arrived on time and started laying down plastic on floors and covering desks. They worked very efficently and neatly. the faux finish office - they had patience of saints but we all came an agreement and the office looks amazing. Very talented This is the second time I have used them, clearly I think they are great.

He had quoted an "x" amount of material that was significantly lower than other companies that have had do quotes for us. We asked them if the measurements were correct. They said they stand by their quotes and their measurements. This all was prior to the signing of the contract. They came and did the work and ended up running short of materials. They had to extend the completion date to after the weekend. When everything was said and done, they said it cost them an extra six hundred dollars for the material cost. When my husband objected to the six hundred dollars, Steve said he would meet us in the middle and expected three hundred dollars. My husband paid it, but then upon further deliberation we realized this additional charge was wrong. I have tried contacting the company again and left a message. So far nobody has called me back.

It went very,very well.John gave me an estimate and explained in detail the work that needed to be done. He was most polite and courteous.I will definitely call Phillips Painting again and have also told friends about their superior work.

Randy their sales manager came to the house as scheduled to give us an estimate on painting the fence. He remembered us from our previous work when we had gutters installed at our house. He measured the amount of fence in the yard and recommended that we have it power washed and then stained. When he told us which brand of stain would be used, we looked up the company on line to get a better idea of the color choices. Then we showed Randy which color of stain we would like and he made sure to include that information in the subsequent work order. We agreed to the estimated price and scheduled the painters. The work crew arrived on time as scheduled in the morning and cleaned the fence first using a power washer. It was amazing how much nicer the wood surface looked. They returned later the following afternoon after the fence had dried to apply the stain. The fence looks wonderful and comes up a three year warranty as well. We were very satisfied with the work performed by Phillips Painting and would recommend them for others wanting their wooden fence cleaned and painted.

We contracted Phillips Painting to paint 2 interior rooms in our home as part of a special promotion they were running. The representative came to our house, measured the rooms, took the paint sample we provided and called us back with the quote. It was reasonable, so we agreed and made an appointment for the job to be done the following week. The painter was to arrive "between 8:30 and 10 a.m." He arrived at 9:45, looked at the room and said he had to go get the paint mixed and would return within 1 1/2 hrs. 3 hours later, we hadn't seen him, so we called the office to find out where he was. They told us their supplier couldn't match the paint. We told them he would have to be there the following morning at 8:30 to do the job. He arrived at 8:30 the following morning and completed the job. We didn't receive any kind of discount or anything. First, when the first gentleman left our home, he had everything he needed to match the paint. Why did the painter have to do that job again? Second, why didn't they call us to let us know what was going on? Third, why didn't they compensate us for the inconvenience? When the job was actually done, it was perfect. I have no complaints about the actual job. The stress getting to the job was not acceptable. I will only use them again because now I know I will have to stay on top of them to get it done when they say they can do it...and because they actually do a good job once they get to it.

The interaction was excellent. The crew cleaned up at the end of every day, came back, and started over. They were very punctual.

The estimator was later than scheduled to provide the estimate, though he did call to provide a new arrival time. He was thorough in providing the estimate information and answering my questions. The estimator indicated that he would email the final estimate cost shortly. However, I did not receive the bid information until the end of the next business day. I found this unusual and especially slow considering I had received two other estimates on the spot from other providers. The final estimate amount was $600-$800 above the two other bids I received. I may call this company again for future estimates, though I expect that their prices will be much higher than competitors, based upon this experience and reports from friends and neighbors who have requested bids from them, too.

I sent an email requesting an estimate on a Sunday, received a phone call Monday, received estimate Wednesday, signed contract and faxed Friday and work was completed the following Monday. They left absolutely no trash or sign that they had even been there. I was not home at the time of the service but the person I spoke with about the quote, John, kept me informed by phone every step of the way. Fantastic service. Gave me a follow-up call that afternoon and told me to inspect when I could and let them know if there was anything I needed to have fixed/adjusted.

It was an excellent experience. The repairman showed up on time, made me aware of the available options and what was needed, and completed the work extremely quickly (less than a half-hour). I would definitely use this company again!

Called for appt, and they were scheduling the estimator appt for approx 30-days out. My issue was not urgent, so this was not a concern. Showed up for appt early, checked out roof issues and provided a detailed quote. I signed the estimate, and they stated they would return for repair in approx 1-2 weeks and I would not need to be at home. Repair was done in 5 days, which is great. However I was not home so I can not speak to the quality of work done. In fact, they were only here 30 minutes which speaks to the small amount of work I needed done and their efficiency.

When the rep came out to discuss the painting job, he gave me an estimate for the job which I later accepted. The paint job was completed within two days after the set date and I am pleased with the overall outcome. There were a few glitches however. The company forgot they had agreed to paint my dining room ceiling and I had to retreive my copy of the contract in order to read exactly what was agreed upon. (Note to anyone - keep your signed contract). Two, the company could not complete the entire job which included the painting of the garage. They had misdiagnosed the amount of work needed to be done and wanted to triple the quoted price which I declined. And three, the house was prepped for painting by the sealing of cracks, but no randam nails were removed on the exterior surface. Clients should also know their house will be spray-painted and not hand-painted. Overall though, as I said, the paint job came out good.

They were punctual to estimate the job. They were very knowledgeable and professional. I gave them the details of the job and they quoted me appropriately. They also had painting options and gave me a quote for that as well. I asked them several questions and all of them were patiently answered. A few days later I called them to get another quote with a few changes. They took all the details and called me the next day with another quote. I might use them in the future.

We always pick a company that Angie?s List members have been very satisfied with. Phillips Painting lived up to their good reputation and did a great job on our house. We recommend them and will use them again when we have the interior painted.

Great. Dave came over to give us an estimate and (poor guy it was raining hard). We needed the to have the 4 doors painted and a grate replaced along with the painting. They papered over the windows and brick. They came on time and did a great job. It was quick and they were quiet and cleaned up afterward. Very nice guys.

Steve gave me an estimate and the work was performed within a week. They were here at exactly the time they had stated and completed the job quickly and professionally. I would definitely call them again.

They did a truly exceptional job. The service representative was thorough and professional. The painters completed the job quickly and efficiently. We had one section of the ceiling that was stained by a broken air conditioner. The workman replaced the entire section, texturized it, and it looks brand new. You can't tell which area was replaced. They workmen removed 20+ year old wallpaper and repainted the walls. They even went as far as to dye the caulk a light purple to match the paint. They brought all their equipment and vacuumed and washed the carpets afterwards. We couldn't be happier. We even called them back to look at and replace our gutters. The whole job took two days, maybe 16 hours total. We highly recommend them and would use them again.

One word-FANTASTIC. Form the estimate to the actual work Phillips was on time and did a wonderful job. I really cannot say enough good things about them. If you have any painting, repair or guttering needs I would highly recommend Phillips.

On first day a non-English speaking worker was dropped off to power wash house with TSP. He had no TSP or tarp protection for landscape. He power washed into all storm windows and gable vents. Called company to complain..they said they would be back the next morning to do it right. Company did not show up by noon so I fired them. Too bad. They had lots of positive rating on Angie's list.
