The job was done quickly over about 1 1/2 days. The first day was pressure washing, caulking and painting. The 2nd day was painting. The only issue was that they pressure washed some of my roof vents closed, which apparently were very flimsy, but they came a few days later and opened them up. I am only disappointed that I chose more of a "safe" color, and should have chosen the original color I wanted.

They did an excellent job. It was reasonable. We had used Phillips Painting before to paint the house and we really enjoyed them. That's been a long time ago until we noticed that they had a roofing component. We called and got an estimate from them. We liked what we saw.

I had Philips paint the exterior of my home a while back. I was so happy with the work they did I had them come back to give me a quote for painting my decorative metal fence. I accepted their bid and they did a fantastic job. The prepped the surface, primed and then hand applied an alkyd enamel rust resistant high gloss paint. The fence looks fantastic (I'm sure my neighbors are happy too). I highly recommend Philips Painting.

I'd gotten an estimate from them before on some siding repairs, and I regretted not going with them on that bid. Then I needed more siding/carpentry repairs and full exterior painting. I got four bids. Theirs was the lowest price and offered extensive repairs. All the contractors are pretty flexible about the bid price, but I had the best impression of John Stanley, with Phillips Painting. It was difficult to choose, because all the bids looked good this time. I decided on Phillips, because they have the strongest record of customer satisfaction on Angie's List, and I got a very good feeling about John Stanley, from communications. Also, I had used Phillips before, for a roof replacement last year, and that turned out very well. (Their roofing contact was Steve Lewis.) One comforting thing is that you don't need to pay anything until completion. Not all the contractors can afford to do that, obviously, because they need money for supplies; but it really makes the customer feel secure, knowing you don't have to pay until you're satisfied. I have not actually seen the work, because I live out of town, but I have it from reliable sources that it looks beautiful and was meticulously and neatly done--no mess. Communication was very good, and my tenants were well impressed with John Stanley's courtesy and professionalism. I asked John to personally inspect the work at completion, and he did this. It can be pretty scary hiring contractors, but you don't need to have any fears about John Stanley. I would definitely use Phillips again. Originally, they were recommended to me by a personal friend, a few years ago, for roofing. Then I found out they have a strong reputation on Angie's List, one they have worked hard to sustain! I will update when I have seen the work, but I feel confident that I will love the job they did!

Overall it went very well. The estimate was provided on time and a clear explanation was provided about the work to be done, materials and cost. The work was scheduled and completed on time. The quality of the workmanship was very high and the overall service provided was excellent.

First let me tell you of the only complaint I had with the service. I made a appointment with Phillips on Monday September 12th to come out and start the paint job. I was told they would come out on the first day and power wash the house, seal the windows and make carpentry repairs. I took a day off of work to be home, to unlock the gate and watch the dogs. Plus I don't like anyone being at my house when I am not home. Well anyway, nobody showed up that morning. I did get a call from their office saying that the guys were going to be late. I said "no problem, I'll be home all day." I get another call from their office later saying, "that their current job ran over because the customer wanted extra work done. So we can't make it to your house today." First of all, I believe that's not my problem. I took a day off of work and now you say you're not coming today! It's like I wasted a day for nothing. I asked the lady from the office if I could speak to a manager. I was told all the managers were out of town, but she would try to get one to call me. A manager did call me later that day. When I explained to him what had happened he was not apologetic, instead his response was "you need to more flexible." I was told that the current customer take precedence over future customers and all future customers get pushed until the current customers job is complete. While I appreciate this (especially if I am the current customer) my response once again was, "that's not my problem, you're the one that needs to be more flexible. I am the customer." Since I missed a day of work and had to take another day off, I asked for a $200 discount which he gave me. I thought I would give them one more chance and rescheduled for Monday September 19th. Now let me list the positives. First of all my sales rep John Stanley is a great guy. He came out and gave me a complete estimate of the paint job and carpentry work. He explained how the house would first be cleaned and how they would seal all the windows. I gave them a second chance because of John. Every time I called him with a question he would respond immediately. He was very professional and he did apologize for the appointment mix up. On Monday the 19th the work crew showed up on time and started to work right away. The person in charge of the crew was very nice and professional. He answered all of my questions and was very polite when he needed something from me. I am very happy with the job that they did. They completed the entire job in two days. They washed and completed carpentry repairs on the first day. They came back the next day and completed the exterior paint job. When the job was complete, I did a walk around with the crew chief. We found some areas that needed to be touched up, which he did immediately. He replaced the door knobs and gave me the left over paint which I could use to make any touch up repairs later. Overall they did a wonderful job. My house and exterior doors look great. It looks like a new house. I would recommend them and I plan to use their service in the future. Just be prepared that they may not show up on time, or at all, on the first day. If it had not been for the no show on the first day I would have given them an A.

With each project Dave Newkirk came out to give an estimate and discuss our expectations. All work was completed in a very timely fashion. Workmen were considerate, quiet, and very professional. Once a project was complete Dave came out again to check the work and make sure we were satified.

The workers showed up on time and even though I couldn't be there to supervise still did an excellent job. The workmanship and professionalism exceeded my expectations even after I had read the reviews on Angie's List.

Very professional from start to finish. Even the bid proposal was a professional presentation - company brochure, paint samples and a full explanation of all work to be performed. We are so happy with the entire process and the results that we are going to ask them to bid on repainting our wrought iron fence.

The gutters look wonderful!! The folks I spoke with over-the-phone to arrange an estimate, and subsequently the gutter installation, were very knowledgeable and helpful. The guys who did the installation were professional, did a wonderful job, and cleaned up the area perfectly. It was a pleasure working with all of them.

The painting crew were nice guys, but only one of them knew how to paint. The others - I believe - were just picking up a job. When I had Phillips put a bid on the project, I told them I wanted only experienced painters. If he planned on using Day Workers or anyone that wasn't a professional, I didn't want them in my home. I also said I wanted the foreman to speak English so I could communicate with him. I was assured that all of their painters are experienced, would qualify as professionals and the team manager spoke English. Even though Phillips bid to paint my house was higher than the others I received, I decided to go with them. Because Phillips is a highly publicized company, I was expecting only the best quality work. I also told them that I expected a paint job better than what I could do myself. At the end of the day, I would go over their work from that day after they left. They weren't patching holes in the wall, they weren't painting the top or sides of the door frames, they weren't painting all four sides of the window frames, they weren't covering all of my furniture before painting in the area, they weren't properly fixing the cracks in the ceiling and they weren't smoothing out the nicks in the window sills and door frames. I would mark everything with blue tape before they returned the next day. They would fix a few of the places, but not all of them. They never did completely finish my house. After returning three times and still not getting everything touched up, I finally just had enough. I have had to finish the touch ups myself. I would not recommend this company.

Workers arrived a few hours ahead of schedule and woked very hard with no breaks until the job was finished. Everything was done well and I was very satisfied with the job.

The crew arrived on time, but did not bring a pressure cleaner with them. The insurance company clearly stated the charges for pressure cleaning before painting and I had confirmed this with the sales person. I went ahead and let the crew paint the trim without pressure cleaning and then found out that they did not have the custom paint color for the trim. The sales person had even taken a sample of the paint with him. The head painter (Angel) then left to get the paint while his assistant continued to prep and paint what he could with the paint they had. After a few hours I called the office and they said that Angel was still getting the paint. The assistant finished and ended up sitting on the front porch waiting. I had called the office again after a couple of hours as was told that Angel had gone back to their office in Plano to get the paint. I work in Plano and it only takes 45 minutes each way. Angel did not return for 5 - 1/2 hours. They finished up and I had to reschedule them to come back out and pressure wash/paint the metal roof. Angel did pressurewash and complete the painting in a few hours.

Overall price was about $200 above other 2 estimates that I received. The professionalism and quality of work was worth the little bit extra. The gentleman that did my estimate was knowledgeable and thorough. He delivered the estimate promptly and he answered all of my questions. The painters arrived on time and did an excellent job with prep, painting and cleanup. They were friendly and courteous. The job was completed in 2 days. A few touchups needed to be done a few days later. The office/scheduling staff were friendly and helpful with scheduling the job and the touchups. I received calls from the office and from the estimator to insure all work was completed to my satisfaction. Phillips Painting is by far one of the best companies that I have worked with for home improvement.

Very professional job from start to finish. Robby Phillips gave me a very neat and complete initial estimate on site in June. The actual job was scheduled for later in the summer when I had time off. The gutters were off in no time and rotted fascia replaced with Hardie Board. I was a little worried about how the Hardie Board would look but Robbie Phillips assured me it had the "look" of cedar and I am very pleased with how it turned out. He also told me they don't just spot caulk - they caulk everything. I think it's pretty hard to do a nice job of caulking and the job they did was just spectacular. They scheduled Miguel's crew to do the painting and they also did a wonderful job. I hired an individual to paint just my porch railings a number of years ago and I found drips of paint on the porch floor and even paint on the screens. The paint crew from Phillips did their work to perfection - they do very detailed, very precision work. My daughter-in-law was so impressed she thought she might hire them to paint their house. The gutters went up in no time and should work much better with the additional downspouts. Everyone who came to work at my house was nice and personable and they all worked very hard, all day, long days, in hot weather. A large, professional, organized company that is very deserving of the good reviews I see about it on Angie's list.

Overall, it was an excellent experience.

My experience with them was fine. They showed up on time and did a good job. They fulfilled the contract, and it wasn’t a lot of hassle. It was timely; they took two days for the painting and one day for the gutters. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

He was very willing to come out, and very professional. He did not pressure me when I told him I needed to save some money, and I really appreciated that. He gave me a thorough estimate for each portion of my home. Very good customer service.

Painters arrived on time and worked diligently throughout the day despite >100 degree heat. When inside, they were very respectful of my property and very clean and careful. Unfortunately, through a series of inadvertent miscommunications, the first coat of exterior paint was the wrong color. There was absolutely no hassle about this; they simply came back the next day and did it right, without argument or complaint. They were true professionals in every way. Cleanup was very thorough, with no mess at all left behind. I would hire them again tomorrow.

The crew that performed our job was punctual. They left some spikes from the old gutters on the ground which was of small concern for foot hazard. The crew we had was interactive with us to make sure that they were doing the job we wanted. If there were any questions, they would ask and not assume what we wanted. My only complaint would be the few gutter spikes left on the ground for us to find.

I was very satisfied with their work. They were on time and cleaned up after themselves.

Excellent work! I'm so glad I found this company. The gutter and downspout match the rest of our gutters and exterior paint so well, you would never know it's new work. This company is not the cheapest, but the trade-off is that they do superior work. Their staff are friendly, give solid quotes and perform the work as scheduled. I also had their paint rep provide an estimate to paint our home (which includes repair or replacement of siding, prep, seal and painting). Again, it's pricey, but knowing the finish product I will receive, it is well worth it. I plan to schedule my exterior paint job with them in the next six months!
