I am very pleased with the job that they did. We got delayed a couple of days because of the rain in the middle of July, but they were prompt to finish the job when the weather cleared.

Sales rep is courteous and professional - writes up the work order and presents the price; schedules crew and follows up with customer to confirm date and time within a 10 business day time frame. Crew will either prep the day before, or on the same day - would highly recommend having someone present, who understands what is expected (confirming colors, scheme, location - the more detail the more problems I had expecting the master painter to understand what the work order says - make sure there is clear understanding before they start, as these guys are quick, and there is no one supervising or lack of follow up from the original sales rep to ensure 100% accuracy of expected job while it is being completed. This process was aggrevating, as I am the one paying for the service, and should not be monitoring their job all day! All and all good result, but a bit pricey for what I had to do to ensure what I expected.

The quote was probably lower than we expected for the work they're going to do. They sound like an excellent company and they're probably going to do an excellent job.

The original quote process was excellent. They provided a quote that was priced a bit higher then other providers but made a good enough original impression that we choose them anyways instead of the low-ball offer. Miles was the person giving the quote. They were able to schedule the gutter install quickly and get out there within a week of signing the contract. They came on time and installed the gutters quickly. My wife was home and they announced their arrival, but did not check in once the job was complete. Just packed up and left. This marked the start of our problems and communication issues. They installers had failed to properly follow the plan that we had requested. I was at work and not able to inspect it, but my wife had found this issue. After getting a hold of them they said they did not know why the changed it and that they would send the installers back out. The installers came back out and spoke with my wife. They decided to explain this time that the wood was partially rotted and that they could not change the direction of the downspout without risking the wood rotting further. They said that our account manager had been informed and that they were supposed to explain this to us. They had no clue when we spoke with them. After hearing the actual reason why it was changed, we opted to leave the downspout at its location and not risk any rot. The installers were not that happy with being called again but left. Later in the day I got home and further inspected the job. We realized that the installers had not followed the directions for saving my old gutter guards and had thrown them all away/hauled off. We also found that they had put the downspouts for the front draining directly in the flower gardens instead of extending them out into the yard. It was very ugly and unacceptable solution for the run off water. We called the account manager and he said he would open a service request for it and replace the thrown away leaf guards. It took about a month but we did get them replaced which was very nice. The installers came back out to look at our extensions for the downspouts. These were installed in the flower gardens that were not used as walking paths. The installed some extremely ugly green plastic downspout extenders. They told my wife that these were the ONLY option as they could not install metal extensions as people would walk on them. It made no sense. We called back our account manager again. He apologized and said that he would take care of this issue for us. This was over the phone. Another week or two passes and we hear nothing. I get an email from him asking if I had received the leaf guards and paid for the gutter invoice yet. I am a little upset at this point because once again they had not followed up with me. I had neither received an invoice from them or had my downspouts fixed at this point. Luckily they had actually delivered the replacement gutter guards at this point. They are asking me to pay for my service before the project has been completed. After some various emails back and forth Miles asked me to measure how long the gutter extensions were. I took photos and attempted to measure the length for him. As of June 11th I was told that he had the pieces cut himself and would personally be out to install them as a top priority. Its now July and I have yet to see or hear from him. We paid the bill, but I will not use this company again due to the communication and follow-thru issues. I picked this company primarily because of its higher reviews on Angies List and I wish I had realized how bad the communication would be with this company before accepting the bid. I have waited on this review to see how this plays out, but hopefully this might help finish up the project and motivate someone in management to get someone out again.

Everyone was friendly and professional. Had some minor issues with guttering for new patio after a rain. They responded the very next day and made all right. Would use them again.

Miles Martin was the sales rep and project manager, and he did a great job of answering every question I had. I received 4 quotes and chose Phillips Gutters because of their reviews on Angie's List, Miles Martin's excellent representation, smoothness of the quote process, and just a general feeling that if I signed on the spot, I would never regret it. During the quote process I did make one choice I later regretted (the color of the downspout extensions different from the rest of the guttering) and I asked them to come back out and change those 2 extensions to match the color of the rest of it. Miles responded quickly but that added $75 to the cost to correct my bad color choice. The original quote for gutters was $795 which was outstanding. Lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship. My house is almost 1800 sq ft, but I have a 30 ft patio cover and 2 big gables that could not be guttered, thus the lower cost for this project. Two men came and installed everything in 1-1/2 hours. They were professional and efficient and cleaned up so well that you'd never know any work had been done. I also got a quote for exterior painting while Miles was here as they can do everything on the exterior of your home. I highly recommend PHILLIPS PAINTING ROOFING AND GUTTERS and will use them for other exterior work.

Ryan Adair came out and we discussed what needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable and also very nice--no hard sell. I had intended to get another estimate, but after talking to Ryan, decided to go with Phillips. The price seemed reasonable. The painters came on schedule and did a good job. I would recommend them.

Phillips Painting Roofing and Gutters had a boss come in all the time to make sure everything was going right. They came in and did their job professionally. I was pleased with them. They did one thing wrong, but they corrected it. They took care of the problem. I really didn't have any problems at all. They were a little bit higher, but I was glad with the service they gave me. Their prices were competitive.

The set up was very responsive; the salesperson was out quickly, made recommendations quickly and was able to set up the job quickly. The trim work and the gutters look great; the paint perhaps less so -a little inconsistent on back door. On price, I wonder if we have gutters in excess of what is necessary for a place that doesn't rain that much. and also a downspoutn still empties into a trouble spot. Then we had substantial extra trim for several hundreds of dollars that I wonder could have been thrown in. Overall, very good.

Very professional, friendly, and informative. Didn't try to oversell me, just did the work that I asked for. The installers showed up on time, and the work was finished quickly and properly. Very good experience, overall. No problems whatsoever!

The quote process was very efficient. They were punctual and well represented. Their pricing was a bit out of our price range. It was higher than everyone else, actually it was double, but we do feel a great quality of work had we done it. It probably would have been exceptional based upon their reputation and the way they represented themselves. It was all great. They were very responsive. They followed up in the time-frame I asked them to check if we would accept their bid or not. Overall, it was a very good experience.

We initially had some difficulty getting a call-back once we faxed our signed estimate back to the company, but once that was taken care of they scheduled very quickly and came on time. The contractor who did the work was very friendly and hard working, and the job was completed in a matter of hours. We have used this company before, and have been pleased with them each time. We'll definitely call them again for any roof repairs we need in the future.

The office staff is professional and punctual. They came out for the estimate when they said they would and the estimate was fair, not the cheapest but within a reasonable margin. They had done some gutter repair for us previously, so we decided to go with them for the exterior painting. The crew that came out was less than professional and either inexperienced or unscrupulous, I'm not sure. The first day they came out to prep they worked about 3 hours then we ordered them lunch. After they ate, they left around 1 PM. It was cloudy but not raining that afternoon. When they returned a few days later to paint, they were either rushed to finish the job or didn't know what they were doing. The painted all of the doors while closed, even after we talked about letting us know when we needed to open the doors so they could paint the edges and door frame, they painted one side of the gutter pipes in locations where they were clearly visible, they painted the frame of the sliding doors on one side but not on the other side so it was uneven, not to mention numerous drips and missed spots. Even ignoring the other spotty issues, I don't understand how anyone that has painted doors could paint them while closed! The second we opened the door, there was a 1/2" unpainted edge all around the door and of course the paint had dried between the door and frame. They also left lots of paint splatter on our deck and cigarette butts in the yard! The only reason I'm rating them a B is because the sales manager did send out other people to correct the situation as soon as we pointed out the problems and he didn't try to defend the crew's antics. He seemed perplexed about their sub-par work as well and did everything he could to remedy the situation. So I would consider re-hiring the company, but only if I can verify that the crew they send is experienced and professional. Phillips delivers good customer service. However I think they need to be more strict with the crews they hire/subcontract with.

Front door was sanded to remove old brushstrokes and the frame, lintel, and sill were also sanded. The front door was spray-painted for a smooth finish and the other parts were caulked then hand-painted in a complementary color. There was a concern about the paint along the caulk seams and brick, but that was quickly resolved to our complete satisfaction.

I visited with & received proposals from several paint contractors, including some firms that are highly rated on Angie's List. Many of them seemed capable of providing quality service, but Phillips impressed me as being the most professional organization. Everyone I contacted with them was helpful, friendly, and professional. Antonio, the crew leader of the painters, was exceptional. He provided a major league thorough prep job before applying paint and then gave us a great paint job. The cleanup process before leaving was thorough. Phillips will tell you that they are not the least expensive paint contractor on the scene, but they are far from being the highest. Their price was in the middle of the bids we received. In my opinion, Phillips is a premier painting contractor. Let me also say that it was my subscription to Angie's List that enabled me to find them.

This company gives phenomenal customer service. The salesman, Chris, came to my home and brought samples of their product so I was able to actually see what I would be purchasing and there was never any pressure to purchase. Chris spent extra time with me and even came back on another day so we could ensure that I was choosing the color of gutters that would look best on my home. Installation went smoothly, however, when it rained I realized there was a problem. Phillips gutters immediately returned to my home and discovered that the problem was with the poor and improper installation of my roof along the drip line. They bent over backwards to find a solution to a problem that wasn't their problem to fix. They were in constant contact with me and offered me several solutions. We agreed they would fix my roof problem, with very minimal cost to me, so that their product would then function properly. The gutters now work just fine. I have never encountered a company that was so intent on ensuring that their product works and their customer is happy, even if that means correcting another companies poor workmanship. I would highly recommend Phillips Gutters to anyone. The president of this company should be extremely proud that he has employees that offer this level of fantastic customer service.

We chose Phillips because they were able to take care of everything we needed done- carpentry, paint, gutter fabrication and installation all at one company. The price was competitive, although a bit more than we were hoping to spend (but isn't that always the case with these projects?) Chris was the rep who came to see us, and did a good job of explaining the options and identifying the areas of the house in need of repair. The crew was courteous and efficient, and actually finished the gutter installation slightly sooner than expected. We went with 6" gutters and the Leaf Relief cover system, which did add significantly to the price. But both seem to be working as advertised, and we no longer have water pouring off the roof during rainstorms like we did before.

Jeff came out to provide job estimate on April 24, 2013. He gave us a very detailed estimate and explained that the EPA requires certain procedures to be used if lead paint was found to be present (due to the age of the home and changes made in the law in 2010). He provided the estimate based on a "worst case" scenario (i.e., if lead paint was found), referred us to an environmental inspector, and said the company would refund the cost of the lead inspection if none was found. We had the inspection completed within a few days and there was no lead paint found. The crew began its work on May 15 and finished on May 19 (Sunday). They cleaned up the site every day and were very industrious. After opening the first wall of siding, they determined there had not been a vapor barrier installed with the Masonite, and recommended Vydek be installed behind the new Hardieboard siding. This change added a small cost and was made only after consulting with us. Jeff came to the site every day to monitor progress and answer any questions. The house looks great and we are very happy with the results. We also enjoyed the friendly crew and could not be more pleased with their diligence in keeping the site so clean.

Very professional, very friendly. Did the roof in one day and it looked spectacular. They even replaced a skylight that was not a part of the project scope. The gutter team was amazing to behold. The painters did a wonderful job including touch up on some interior nail pops caused by the roofing job.

I contacted the company for an estimate. The sales rep promptly arrived at the promised time and completed a thorough walk-around describing (in detail) the work that would be completed. Upon my acceptance of the bid, the work was scheduled for the following week. The work crew arrived promptly and completed the work to my expectations. Phillips Painting Roofing and Gutters delivered what they promised.

I have used Philips Roofing twice now, both for shingle damage, and found them to be extremely reliable and responsive. The work was done both times in the expected timeframe and at the cost we negotiated before any work began. Another nice feature is that I did not need to work from home when the work was being completed allowing me to focus on work.

Got here and got busy - 3 guys painting. Several replacing gutter. Looks great, thanks.

They broke a pot for potted plants and replace it with one that was very cheap. I will not use them again.

Overall, the free consultations have gone well! John was professional, prompt, knowledgeable and honest each time he has come out to see us. He is thorough in his assessments and review of the areas we want done; he listens to what we want done, questions and concerns; he is not pushy but is honest with pricing and what is reasonable to do at one time (for example: one room will be more expensive to do than if you had multiple rooms; it takes a lot for the guys to have to come out, mix paint, get supplies and only do one room. He shared the info but didn't haggle us to increase rooms if we didn't want to; he left the choice up to us). There is some room for price negotiations if you have multiple projects at one time. However, John makes it clear that Phillips will not sacrifice quality; he will not negotiate to cheap prices just to get a sale. He also made sure all of our questions were answered before leaving. It only takes 1-2 days to receive an estimate via email. He doesn't keep calling back; it's up to us when to get the work started. He even had the original notes from June 2012 on the last visit; very thorough and organized. Once we get the work done, we will update the review!
