I have been very pleased with all of their service. They do excellent work. At the end of the day, you cannot even tell they were at your home. They do a very thorough cleanup after each project. The salesmen show up on time and give thorough quotes. Usually they are happy to offer a local discount and for long term customers. I have never had any problem getting in touch with the company and they are very flexible with scheduling.

I simply cannot say enough good things about Phillips. Our great experience began with our Service Representative. David Watson was courteous, knowledgeable, professional, understanding, cooperative, helpful, and could not have been more focused on our satisfaction. From the first visit (to discuss interior painting), throughout the estimate, scheduling, selection, to implementation of the schedule, to performing the job, to completion and inspection, David was with us every step of the way. The painting crews were outstanding. They were respectful of our schedule. They were professional looking, and conducted themselves in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. They came each morning on time, in clean uniforms, and worked the entire time they were here with very minimal time for breaks and lunch. They took outstanding care of our furniture, carpet, and took special care to see that everything was back in order and proper location. The worked quickly, but carefully. We had "popcorn ceilings" removed in five rooms, one hallway, one foyer; wallpaper removed in one room and one foyer, and texture and painting done on walls and ceilings in all of these locations. They did a beautiful job. And even returned immediately to fix a few very minor things and touch ups. We plan to use them again soon to do three more rooms. Following this we had the exterior painted and new gutters installed. Same song, second verse...good, professional, on time, respectful. I would highly recommend Phillips to anyone doing any kind of work they offer.

They were pretty on time for the appointment. They got the work done in the time frame they said they would. There were three guys here doing the work and it took about 6 hours to complete. They also had a superviser on site.

It was a good quote and I might use them. Their professionalism and communication were excellent.

It was pretty quick and he was finished after 2 days. He did it pretty beautiful and thorough. There's no additional price that I had to pay.

David Turk was very helpful and gave great suggestions. He had great patience with my vacation schedule, weather interruptions and roofing schedule. Phillips Painting provided an excellent painting crew lead by Rodrigo. Day one Rodrigo and his crew power washed, replaced rotted wood, scraped peeling paint and sealed all seams. Day two they covered all exposed areas and painted. The front door, the back kitchen door, the new sliding glass door and the garage door were also included. The project was cleaned up and completed by 12:30 on day 2. I am very happy with the look. To quote David, "that's why you hire professionals." Thank you Phillips Painting, David and Rodrigo. I highly recommend Phillips Painting. I will use them in the future for interior work.

Very well, as expected. We have used them before. We were pleased with results. The men who installed the gutters were on time, professional and cleaned up afterwards.

Sales process went smoothly. I proposed a written schedule for both services based on other work that was being done on the house by a different contractor. There were schedule dependencies across the board so, other than weather which was accounted for in my proposed schedule, it was important to me that if the dates were accepted they were also kept. The schedule was accepted by Phillips for both the roof and gutter work. I dealt with two different sales folks as a main point of contact for each service and shared with both gentlemen the need for tight coordination. The quality of the roof work and gutter work was good. We had a few punch list items but nothing major and nothing controversial. Phillips fixed everything as asked. The roofers did a good job getting as many nails and metal items up prior to leaving. The gutter crew, not so much. I went around with my own magnet on a stick that I got a Home Depot and found a lot of left over screws and nails. The biggest concern was the very long old gutter nails not picked up. I found at least five of these in the grass which would have been an ER visit had someone (or me) stepped on it wrong. Even with the disclaimers, it would be a benefit to the reputation of the company if any crews that do any sort of construction are required to do a sweep around the place. The Home Depot version of the magnet is 10.00 and change. Wouldn't be an huge cost to the company to outfit the other crews with these. My only real complaint and the reason for the B rating was the communication, or lack thereof. Once the sales process was complete, 90% of the communication regarding scheduling, confirmation, etc. was initiated by me. While the roofers did show up on the scheduled day and I did anticipate them showing up early, no one called to confirm. I would have appreciated a heads-up that the truck dropping off the shingles would be there at 6:45 am followed by the crew starting at 7:00 am. The gutter crew delayed their start by 3 days but I did get a call a few days before. Not ideal with the overall schedule but it all worked out. This time I did get a call from the scheduling department to confirm but that was the ONLY call I got from that team throughout the entire process. It seems as if this is a big area for improvement with this company. I realize as someone who has been a project manager for nearly 20 years my expectations are pretty high but due to my field of discipline, I also know that poor communication with the customer can make or break a working relationship and impact future job opportunities even if the quality of your work product is good. I encourage the management at Phillips to take a hard look at their communication process and make necessary changes. As far as using Phillips again, I chose yes because there isn't a maybe option. That said, I would definitely give them another chance if it could be shown that their communication processes have improved. The sale isn't over just because the customer awarded you the business.

Based on the reviews here on Angie's List, I hired Phillips Painting to do a significant amount of interior repainting before moving into a newly purchased home. That turned out to be a major mistake. After this experience, I wouldn't let them paint my dog house. In fact my dog wouldn't let them paint the dog house. If you do insist on using them, at least do your best to avoid dealing with Dave Stephens (the Project Manager who did little to manage the project). I hired Phillips to perform the following work: Re-pained the walls in 20 interior rooms, repainted baseboard/window trim in 5 rooms, repainted cabinets and trim in master bath and laundry room, repainted kitchen island, repainted two sets of kitchen cabinets. They started in the garage, and did an acceptable job (acceptable for a garage). Next they did the cabinets in the master bath and laundry room. That went fine (the first time). Next they painted the walls and ceiling in the master bath and laundry room ... but they painted them the wrong color. In the process of fixing that, I'm guessing they messed-up the cabinets they had previous painted. I didn't notice this until after I had moved in, but there were a number of areas that they had to touch-up, which would have been fine except that they touched-up ENAMEL paint with LATEX paint. From their they moved on to the walls in the other ~16 rooms. Their workmanship was definitely sub-par. What they did paint did not fully cover the old paint, and somehow they completely missed significant areas (in one room they "forgot" to paint the ~9 sqft areas above each of the windows). In the end, I insisted that they put a second coat on most of it. After having lived with it for a year, I now realize that I should have insisted that they put a second coat on everything, because I'm still finding places they missed. Next they painted the kitchen island. Not only was it the wrong color, but it was the sloppiest paint job I've ever seen. Beyond pathetic. it looked like it had been painted by a 5 year old. At this point I should have fired them, but I was short on time to find another painter. I personally sanded down the entire island (because I didn't trust that they would do it properly), and insisted that they repaint it. Fortunately, they left the 5 year old at home the second time, and actually sent out a painter to do the job. Next was the other kitchen cabinets, which looked fine from a distance, but up close they didn't look or feel right. It looked (and felt) like they had put latex paint over the original enamel paint. When I asked Dave about this, he just laughed (professionalism at it's finest). About a month later, I realized that is exactly what they had done (because the new paint started peeling off). So now I need to hire someone else to fix it. They originally quoted ~10 days to do the work. In the end, it took them two months ... to do a miserable job. And now for the icing on the cake. After they were done, I noticed that their crew had been cleaning up their tools in my backyard, leaving me with ... a paint-covered garden hose and a pile of paint skim in the middle of my lawn. I also discovered that they had cleaned out my refrigerator. During all of this, I also corresponded with Randy Stump (Customer Service, I think). He was more personable than Dave, but not really interested in fixing the problems. At one point, he didn't seem to believe what I was telling him, so I suggested that he come see the issues first hand. His response was "we've done bigger jobs than yours". That seemed like an irrelevant response, and I'm not sure what he was trying to imply. Perhaps my job was too small for them to take seriously. Consider yourself warned.

The Initial estimate was made on 5/9. I was stranded in California due to thunderstorms closing DFW the day before. I spoke with the estimator on the phone and we worked up two estimates. I asked him to email me the estimates, but he refused. He mailed them. I understood why, the estimates were handwritten and hard to decipher. I immediately signed off on the gutter work as soon as I received the mail, but it took nearly TWO months for the work to be performed. I was still in the process of moving from NJ so I was absent for extended periods of time. During that time a thunderstorm blew down a downspout that I had contracted to be securely attached. Another contractor put this on the driveway where it was apparently picked up by the city or a scavenger. So by the time Phillips showed up the job had increased from attach loose downspout to replace downspout. When the work team came out I was at work. The team lead could not read the estimate drawing. He told me the design that was estimated was flawed and he needed other parts. He made partial repairs but then had to return the next day. The work team left behind one large 8" spike and one small white headed machine screw which I considered unprofessional. The hit on punctuality has to do with the remarkably long time it took to perform service which allowed the situation to degrade which ended up costing me more money. The new gutter does look good and I am please with the resulting work, but I can't deal with a contractor with this level of service. There is too much work to do and I don't like contractors who require this level of handholding and supervision. So I'm not pursuing the $2700 estimate for the full exterior trim paint job. Oh, one more annoying thing. After having waited two months for service and struggling through a repeat visit and cleaning up after the work crew, the salesman had the nerve to call me five days after the bill was emailed to me and ask if I've paid it yet. Really? I wish he had cared about the job more to have scheduled it quickly. I have paid but have requested the company not contact me further about any future work (This review does not supersede that instruction on "no contact". I have provided the information in this review to the salesperson, on the phone and provided it in writing on the invoice when I paid the bill. This should not be a surprise.)

We had Phillips Painting repair various wood rot on the exterior of our house and paint all paint-able surfaces. The workers performed their work without disturbing us at all; we hardly noticed they were even there. They kept the yard clean, didn't destroy any of the landscaping and were very courteous and polite. They did a very thorough job and while it was a little more expensive than a few other quotes I received, I felt it was a better value.

They were great, but we chose to use another company. They were very professional and polite. They had great service, but we went with another company based on the price.

Very professional, competitive and knowledgeable

Their price was sky-high and I couldn't justify the price that they quoted me. It was over double what I ended up paying to get the job done. However, I had no doubt that they do a good job.

I talked to them and they were supposed to get back to me with some information and I sent messages that I haven't seen anything as a message back about the inquiry that I made. They came out and gave me a bid but I had a couple of other bids from other people and they were going to ask their supervisor regarding something and I have yet to hear back on that. That's been about 4 weeks. The gentleman that came out was very courteous, he seemed very knowledgeable. I had no complaints about him. I can't say anything about the quality of their work but as far as promptness sending someone out and doing a bid, they were very good at that.

The crew chief seemed to like the colors we chose, blue and white. It did require some skill since we had details we wanted painted white and the body blue. With the instructs I gave them. it turned out just right.

They did a good job. They finished all the services that were left out by the earlier company.

Result looked good, didn't see any obvious overspray. Cars and other objects were properly wrapped and protected.

It was good. The estimate was quick and it was easy. They were extremely friendly and explained everything very well. He was right on time.

They were quick and efficient. We requested they redo some painting around a door, replace a downspout and do some additional clean up. They did so immediately and to our satisfaction.

The technician came to my house to give me an estimate. Next day, he called me to see if I agreed with fee, I was not able to answer call, so it went to my voice mail. Technician did not hang up his phone correctly and recorded his conversation on my voice mail. He was talking to his co-worker about how I was asking some dum questions, Saying I wanted a low fee and how ignorant I was. I called him back to let him know he left a voice mail of 3 minutes bad mouthing me, he apologized and admitted. I still think that was very rude and unprofessional.

Incredibly professional. You would not believe the amount of caulking they do. Ryan Adair was extremely professional and so was the crew doing the work. A+
