Description of Work: I called around 9 am to make and appointment and they said they could be at my house between 11 and 1. They arrived just after 11. My compressor was not running and it turned out to be a faulty electrical connection. Jiggling the breaker switch solved the problem. He removed the control panel plate and checked the other wires. Everything else was working, so that was all they had to do. The charge was $140, which I thought was a little high for what he did, but I used the 15% coupon and that helped a little. I've used them before and I'd definitely use them again.

Description of Work: We needed a couple of things. First, a new A/C unit (outside & attic) to replace one that had been installed in 1988! Second, we wanted the ability to have our Master bedroom & bath area at a different temperature then the rest of the house. | |Getting bids and info on a new unit was easy. The hard part was finding someone with a reasonably priced solution to the temp control issue. Some recommended a totally separate A/C unit for the bedrooms, but that was way too costly and overkill, since the bedroom area wasn't really big enough to justify its own unit. Most that came out to quote agreed that we only needed a 5-ton system for the portion of the house not already on a different system. | |One company got close to the right answer. They suggested we could manually adjust the dampers in the attic for summer and winter to try to control the temp differences we sought. But that wouldn't allow the control we needed and had obvious downsides. Too many downsides, actually. | |Then we talked to Jim Richmond with JARIC A/C. His solution was zoning. He installed motorized dampers in the duct work that effectively put the bedrooms on their own system, even though he only installed a single new 5-ton system. Our master bedroom has its own thermostat. It operates the single unit as if it was only for the master bedroom when needed. The unit might be running and cooling the whole house, including the master bedroom or it might only be running for the master bedroom. We now have complete control over the temperature setting in the main portion of the house and the master bedroom area. Perfect. | |Jim's solution was much less expensive than adding a totally separate unit and has been working perfectly. The installation took a full day and extra people - just like he said it would. But they came when they said they would and did exactly as discussed. The price charged was exactly as quoted. His bid wasn't the cheapest, but considering that we dramatically upgraded the efficiency of the unit and that his zoning solution worked so well, it was definitely worth it. | |The added bonus to this work is that we feel we now have an A/C company we can stick with for all future servicing and repairs. |

Description of Work: Checked HVAC unit (downstairs) to determine why it was shutting off. Completely tore down the unit in the attic, inspected it, and it worked fine after that.

Description of Work: I RECEIVED SERVICE THROUGH A HOME WARRANTY, SO THE COST WAS NOT BILLED TO ME. THE PERSON WHO DID THE REPAIRS SEEMED ESPECIALLY TRUSTWORTHY AND PROFESSIONAL. THE REPAIR WAS NOT COMPLICATED, AND IT WAS PERFOMED QUICKLY.
