I hired Handyman Matters to replace the floor of the cabinet under my kitchen sink that had been damaged by a leaking pipe in the wall under my sink. Jack was here right on time, and was very polite and very professional. Unfortunately, the work couldn't be completed as expected due to a mold issue. Jack removed the floor of the cabinet, and part of the sides, to assess the mold and due to the extent he found, he was unable to continue. He advised me to file an insurance claim and hire a mold remediator. He even provided me with the names of a couple of water restoration companies. Since he wasn't able to complete the job I had hired the service for, I can't rate him based on his workmanship. But I was happy with the professionalism he exhibited, and the help he gave me in locating a company who could deal with the mold and rebuilding.

HM has always been first class in every respect. They respond quickly and schedule expeditiously, and they have never failed to be here when promised. The work they do is excellent and their personnel are professional, polite, hard-working and trustworthy. They are fully insured and guarantee the quality of their work.

Everything was great. AJ was on time, very professional, very helpful. He lowered the original estimate given to me on the phone after looking at the list of items to be performed. He also noticed a couple items on the list were not necessary and wrote me a note to show to the home buyer to explain what wasn't needed and why. Everything was completed and completed well. I'd use them again.

Did a great job- on time and fair price.

I got them from Angie’s List. The people who came out have been qualified and did a nice job. I think they are pretty competitive in terms of pricing and they seem fair since I have not used anyone in the area. They were on time. They charge by the hour. It’s $125 for the first hour and then $80 for every hour after. Then I used the 10% discount form Angie’s List.

Looking at Angies lIst reviews I thought I was getting someone professional. First off they charged a $45 fee to come and give me an estimate which other providers do for free. I was tols this fee would be deducted from the final bill if I got the work done through them. I had several lower priced offers from compitent handymen but had to go with them because we needed to get the ladder installed in a hurry. One of their guys came for the estimate and later that day I got a written estimate of $200 for the attic ladder installation. The next day I was in a meeting and could not be home for this but my wife was. The installer came and started installing the ladderand at the end of it gave my wife a bill of $460. Saying that he had to spend extra time to build a frame. My wife called me and asked if that was ok and I said we had agreed on $200.00, since I was not able to talk long on the phone he then somehow reduced to amount to $311.00 (there was no mention of the $45 I had paid already) and my wife paid him the check. I wrote a long email to Andy that same day explainging the whole situation and did not hear from him for 5 days and meanwhile my check was cashed. I called them again and talked to Andy who lied to me and said he had sent an email to me and for some reason I did not get it. And the only thing he could do is refund the $45. I am appaled at the service I got, how much offf their estimate was from acttual work, the tried to rip me off by charging more than 250% of the quote and never returned my emails. shocked how they can be rated so high here on Angies list.

They came in under what they quoted and the door looks great and functions as it should. We will be using them again.

I sent an e-mail to Andrew Bush about a small job and he didn't have the courtesy to respond. I don't care if it's a job he wasn't interested in but it is rude to not resond. I need you jobs done around the house but I will find someone else.

Everyone I dealt with was extremely professional and courteous. The handyman who came out was a very hard worker and very nice. I am probably pickier than most but a couple of the cabinet pulls were not even and the neither was the curtain rod.

First guy came out and didn't have a miter box/saw (Not sure how one would go to a job without the proper tools especially knowing your replacing trim), so the appointment needed to be rescheduled. Second guy came out and did a good job. I would use the second guy again not the first.

Handyman Matters was responsive w/estimates. The craftsman assigned to do our work was very punctual , courteous and performed high quality work. We will use this company in the future & would highly recommend them.

What a great experience! I was contacted promptly, scheduled based on my time frames, and given a fair price. The fire door frame from my laundry room to the garage had become disconnected. We needed someone to frame it back properly. The work was done quickly, and for a very fair price.

Because we had to move several large items into the room it necessitated Jack doing the work in two stages. He removed and cut out the existing door and frame and then we had the movers bring in the new items through the larger opening. Jack then came back and re-framed and installed the new door, dry walled and painted the adjacent area. Every thing went smooth, no hitches.

This is our second experience utilizing Handyman Matters of McKinney. The two individuals who came out and installed the columns did so in a professional and what my wife and I thought was a quick time frame. They removed all the old spindle columns and placed the new 8' square ones in a matter of hours. All debris was removed and they did a fantastic job of sealing the new columns in place. We've already lined up two more jobs for them to perform over the next few months. I can't say enough about the professionalism of the employees and the great follow up from the company. When the service man arrived he spent 15 minutes looking at the request and diagram, then told me he did not have the skill or tools to do the carpentry, but could do the electrical. Since he was paid by 15 minute increments, he at least took his time telling me he could not do what I asked. He then bad mouthed the previous owner who set up the appointment. At this point we were both frustrated.

these guys are great. They were able to squeeze us in before the Thanksgiving holidays and get the new fixtures installed in our new house before the family arrived. They were on time and the price was very reasonable. There was one ceiling fan that was a bit difficult and we did not think it was completely secure. So we called and the owner came out later that day with one of his guys, right before Thanksgiving, and they were together were able to give a final tightening up of the fan in question. Now that is service. Will be having these guys back to do the next round of projects.

On his initial visit Jack determined the scope of work and which tools would be needed. He returned as scheduled & performed the repair. It took around 3 hrs. to complete the repairs. Jack was pleasant to work with & performed the work in a professional manner. It was obvious he knew what he was doing. I'm super glad I didn't attempt this myself.

We hired Handyman Matters for some caulking work and couldn't be more pleased. Rodney came out and had everything done within a couple of hours. He completely replaced the caulking in both of our bathroom showers.

We really like them. They were very professional and knowledgeable. We were very impressed with the quality of their work. The owner even came out and talked to us. We'd recommend them.

It was a flat rate. Job was completed in about 3.5 hours, including a trip to Home Depot for a board. Guy arrived on time and was very professional. He explained why he was doing things as I was asking about them, and never seemed frustrated or bothered. Door went in and works well, good seal. Part of the outside frame was determined to be of an incorrect length, so a new board was purchased and installed. This was appreciated. The one thing I didn't realize up front was that all materials needed during the job would be provided, at my cost. This includes door shims, frames, caulk, etc. Lucky for me, I had most of it on hand, so no added cost, but if you don't, they will provide it, but charge you for it. Just FYI. This seems reasonable, but wasn't clear while selecting providers, so thought I would share.

Friendly, efficient and expert service.

First handman estimated the project would be 4-5 hours in length. A call to confirm the appointment was missed and the day of the repair nobody showed, as expected due to missing the confirmation, but there was also no other attempt by the handyman to contact me. At 8:15am, I had to start calling the office asking about the time he was going to arrive, unfortunately, it was the answering service getting my messages. After the appointment was rescheduled, the original handyman contacted me and said, "if I am going to drive all the way out there, someone is going to be there, right?" - My house is in Wylie/Collin County and my initial call to them to confirm servicing this area was available. The handyman's question gave me the impression my location and house was "out of his way" and required him to drive a bit more and that I wasn't important. The guy shows up and after struggling to route the cable behind the wall, decides to take a short-cut and drills a hole through my bedroom wall baseboards, run the cable outside the wall, drill another hole into the baseboards to get it back behind the wall to finally fish down to the first floor. I understood and explained it was not an easy task, but was very clear on what I wanted and if necessary cut some holes in the wall upstairs and repair them. I wished I could post a picture of what this guy did to get around an obstacle in the wall. Long story, short, the second handyman that came out, knew exactly what I wanted, fixed the first person's mistakes and did as good as job as possible, but believe the time involved getting it done was a bit ridiculous. My house was open to them and my neighbor kept a mindful eye. 2 weeks, 2 handymen - for a wall to be repaired, painted and an ethernet cable dropped from first to second floor. I won't be using this service again and hope they enjoy the 1000.00 from me, that is all they are getting having lost out on 3-5 more projects in this house and another rental. Hired another company that is doing awesome work completing all three projects in 3 days.

They’ve been excellent. They did great. We enjoyed their service. They were quick and fast. Their prices are right on. I’m planning to use them again this week.
