Description of Work: If there is wood-rot.You need the entire door frame replaced. This was my third attempt at repairing the door frame.This was the first repair service who told me what needed to be done. For that I am appreciative.

Description of Work: I used snapfix for the first time to have some drywall repaired. The hole was about 2 square feet. The person I dealt with from Handyman Matters was Rodney. Rodney was very polite, professional, and a pleasure to do business with. | |3 days prior, Rodney came out and provided me with a labor estimate of 2 hours, 2.5 hours tops. He then verbally quoted me $15 in materials. A grand total of $273. I said OK, and we planned for him to come back and complete the job. | |He showed up with his tools and ready to work. After about 15 mins of prep stuff (cutting the hole out of the wall, etc), he left to go shopping for drywall/texture mud/etc. He returned 45 mins later. He patched the wall quickly, but then we had to wait for the mud to dry before he could texture. By the time all was said and done, the job lasted 3.25 hours with $55 in materials, for a total of $374ish. I complained about paying for his shopping time, and he cut 10% of the labor off. | |My issue is Rodney should've shown up with everything he needed. He was just there 3 days prior, and therefor knew exactly what he would need. Me paying for shopping time is just ridiculous. I decided against having him paint because that would mean paying him $102.80 an hour while someone mixes the paint. And $102.80 an hour?! I find that rate to be excessive for handyman tasks. | |I think Rodney tried his best, but I can still see the square patch on the wall, even after the texturing and paint. It's not super obvious, but I paid a premium to have this done 100% right the first time and feel like I didn't get what I paid for. | |I paid 3 hours of $102.80 an hour for labor of which he was only directly engaged with the wall for a total of 1.5 hours. 45 mins of shopping and 45 mins of waiting on the mud to dry. Maybe this is normal and being a handyman is quite profitable, but it just sends my value alarm nuts. | |

Description of Work: While the owner Andy Bush tried to correct issues with the work that was done on the house, the worker that first came out did a very poor job. We were selling our home due to being transferred and the relocation company sent a home inspector. There was a small list of items needing done by a contractor or handyman, so I called Handyman Matters for an estimate. I was charged 45.00 for the estimate which they neglected to tell me in our phone conversation to set up the appointment. I chose to have them do the work. The handyman came out to do the work, arrived earlier than expected, and started. After being there an hour and a half he said he had to go get supplies. I looked around and found the only thing he had done was remove a small section of rotted from around the outside of a window. He was gone for an hour and a half and when he returned I was informed he felt better after eating lunch. He replaced the rotted wood around the window and was working on another area when I left. When I returned at 4:45 he had left for the day. I walked around to inspect what had been done and found the area where he replaced the rotted wood had not been painted, the other job that needed a board replaced had been filled in with wood filler and the outside door frame that needed fixed because it was hard to open , had been rigged with a piece of ripped box placed behind the hinge. The door did open but still not like a normal door would. Still sticks. I had to call 3 times before I got ahold of Andy to come out to look at the poor work that was done. He wanted to have the guy return to do the work the proper way but I told him no!!! He then asked if he could have another worker come out and fix the problem areas, after saying no several times he convinced me they would take care of it and I agreed to let them come out. He also adjusted my bill.( still feel I over paid!) His guy called and set up an appointment. He called that day to say it was raining and too cold to paint could we reschedule, I said yes. On the day he was to arrive it had rained that morning but had cleared up by the time the handyman was supposed to arrive. He never called or showed up!! I called the following week to speak to Andy to let him know what happened and he said the weather had been bad he would have the guy call to set up another appointment. At this point I said no, was tired of dragging this out and wanted no more aggravation. We have since sold our home and had another inspection. The same work that Handyman Matters did is what we now have to pay to have fixed. Lesson learned!!!!!!! I should have learned from my first experience with Handyman Matters, they were called out to fix my doorbell and cut the speaker wires to my alarm system!!! Andy also came out for that mess and rewired the speaker. He asked me to give his company another chance, and I did. NOW I AM SORRY FOR THAT DECISION!!!

Description of Work: I thought the service was fantastic, a little more expensive than expected but the owners seem open to negotiating, so give that a try. If you are in a pinch like I was, go for it.

Description of Work: My fence seemed unstable in the wind. I was afraid that a whole panel of boards might come down. I had Handyman Matters Collin County come out. The work was completed and I now have a sturdy fence that I don't have to worry about! I would give them an A and definitely YES, I would use them again!

Description of Work: We had 2 small areas of textured drywall that needed repair. Contacted Handyman Matters of Collin Co thru the Angie's List website. Their response time was amazing. Heard back in less than 15 minutes. Sent them specific requirements of the job including re-texturing the repaired areas. We had 2 interactions that specified re-texturing needed. Set up an appointment. Othella was fabulous! Neat, pleasant, professional, VERY competent. Arrived exactly on time; came in and viewed the areas to be repaired. He then told us he was told about the re-texturing need and that he needed to go to Home Depot to get the product. He was gone for 50 minutes. I contacted Handyman Matters to ask if we would be charged for the time he was gone. Here's their response: | |Hi! Yes the guys are on the clock when they get materials. I wish we could keep materials on the trucks but we do so many different things there is no way we could cover everything. |Thanks, |Handyman Matters Collin County | |I get that they couldn't haul everything around but since we hired them for drywall repair and were SO clear that re-texturing would be needed and the product is in an AEROSOL CAN you would think they might be able put it on their trucks! | |Othella did a fabulous job. Yes, we'd probably use them again for drywall work but they need to inform the consumer that they may be charged additionaly if their workmen have to go get supplies. |

Description of Work: repaired/replaced brick mailbox that was destroyed by a truck

Description of Work: Installed MicroWave, repaired damaged dry wall in kid's bathroom, removed birds from vents and installed mesh shields to prevent future bird infestations. All work was done with high quality and in slightly less time than the original quote.

Description of Work: Craydon came out and gave me an estimate for the cost of replacing a door with a large window which would match four other large windows in the living room. Detail carpentry work would be required to match the picture frame detail in the paneling. The estimate also included brick work on the outside to match the detail under the other four windows. The estimate was in the middle of the three estimates I had. Craydon did an excellent job. He was punctual, and paid attention to all the details in matching the "picture frame" molding on the paneling in the living room. The attention to detail was amazing. Outside, Craydon matched the detail in the brickwork, and made the ledge of bricks under the window match the other four window ledges. The completed project looks as if it was original to home! Very pleased. He also cleaned up thoroughly after his work and was most careful in carrying in his tools, etc. so as not to hit doorjams, etc.

Description of Work: We had to do gut and siding repairs as well as painting. Handyman matters was quick and efficient. Although a little pricey, they did a great job and worked around our tight schedule. We actually had them do more work than we originally planned. |The follow-up was excellent too. Description of Work: No expertise on the job. It took 5 hours to do sink plumbing and add ro sytem under the sink. And still the job is not done right. every part need to be supplied by us including plumber putty ( ridiculous). It's a hourly service and a ripoff. When I called they said it will take 2 hours tops. I will not recommend this to any one

Description of Work: I had 4 ceiling cracks / leaks throughout my 11 year old house. Andrew came in on-time, did the repairs and left the house completely clean. The repairs that he made were amazing! Worth every penny, you can not even see them this morning and one of the areas had to have a large patch of sheet rock put in. I would not hesitate to recommend them again. Thanks!

Description of Work: Crayden came in placed 4 6 panel wood doors, he stained them and placed them...beautiful job...very professtional, courteous and polite...the workmanship is just beautiful...made all the difference in my kitchen, and my hall way. He also framed wood around a skylight in my kitchen which turned out incredible. The one thing I did notice and like was the time and care he showed in his work, and it wasn't expensive at all... He even cleaned up after each time. It is so nice that in this world there are still businesses that still care about their customers...i will definitely use them again, and recommend them to my friends. Thank you guys you are great.
