Description of Work: In the area Ashbuster has an excellent reputation for quality of service. I had them give me an estimate on some work. It was too expensive for me at the time so it was not done. One thing I liked is that I did not get an answering machine when I called. If I decide to have the fireplace restored, I will call Ashbusters.

Description of Work: Inspected chimney after I asked with a scope and cleaned the chimney. Not sure if he would have used the scope if I hadn't mentioned it. Polite worker and no mess. Would use them again.

Description of Work: The service person seemed very knowledgeable about wood stoves and was very respectful. Unfortunately, at the end of the service he presented me with a laundry list of reasons why I shouldn't use the wood stove. So I spent the money, but still couldn't use the wood stove. I suppose it could be argued that the full analysis of the situation could not have been accomplished without going through the entire process. However, the fact that the stove was built in the 1960's (which I had not known), plus the obvious sign of leakage as evidenced by the dark ring on the ceiling around the stove pipe (learning moment for me), and the diagnosis that the pipe had been installed upside down (again, news to me)...these items alone would have been enough to convince me it was a lost cause - without going through the steps of cleaning it. And in that case, a refund of part of the fee would have been a nice gesture.

Description of Work: I bought the $99 Angie's deal. Only issue is I had to call them on the 3rd business day instead of them calling me to schedule. Other than that, I was very happy with the service, arriving on time and professionalism. It was a very good value and I would use again.

Description of Work: They checked the chimney to see if it was suitable for the install of gas logs. They recommended some additional services that were going to cost an arm and a leg so we got a second opinion and found out that it was fine as is. Seemed like AB was trying to up sell us on several hundred dollars worth of services.

Description of Work: Appeared to do a good job on the chimney clean & inspection. Found some cracks inside chimney that they quoted on repairing and sent photos of the problem so I could discuss with spouse. Pricey repair, so haven't decided. Shared Good info on replacing fireplace logs, but never followed up with log photos that I requested. That's why i gave a lower grade on responsiveness & professionalism

Description of Work: I bought a deal online for them to just check my chimneys and tidy them up. They had these fake/gas logs in them that I didn't like. They pulled them out, cleaned the whole thing out and are coming back to install log lighting rods. In addition, they found and photographed problems with my brick chimney. They are coming back to do the mason work, waterproof the whole thing and replace the chimney cap. Kevin was very thorough and explained everything in detail as well as with photographs. The prices are very reasonable...and clearly, I am having them back to do more work.
