They recommended mortar repair. Firebox needs replacement. they told me I had a chimney and were surprised the house did not catch fire. they recommended that I not have fires in the firplace until the repairs are done.

I chose Ashbusters to do my work because of a coupon on Angie's List as well as their certifications. They arrived on time and immediately began to work. AFTER doing the sweep, they inspected my 1948 chimney and proceeded to tell me that it was of SINGLE brick construction and required a liner in order to be used safely. The technician then showed me a couple of pictures that he took with his IPHONE, not a camera that goes down the chimney, HIS IPHONE. After putting away his tools, the technician then gave me an inspection report that included a $5000 "repair" that would need to be done to bring the chimney up to current codes. After finally clearing my house of the cigarette smell that clouded my home as a result of the technician's presence, I decided that I needed a second opinion. Another chimney sweep came out this morning that is also certified by the same agency as Ashbusters and examined the chimney. He noted that it is of double brick construction, which Ashbusters lied to me about, and continued telling me that it is one of the best chimneys that he has worked on and needed nothing done to it to work properly. He offered me signed, official paperwork that explained his inspection and was very courteous. I am extremely upset and frustrated with Ashbuster as I feel that they, not only took my money, but also tried to scare me into pursuing unnecessary repairs.

Arrived on time. Professional and courteous. After inspection, technician pointed out that the chimney liner was unsafe and should not be used without major reconstruction. Good to know! Good company.

The estimate was outrageous. They would need to rent a lift for the same cost as the repair. They also provided an estimate for lining the chimney. The estimate was $15,000. I did not select this company.

I would recommend them. They had two technicians, they were courteous, they took their work boots off when they came in the house and they were able to find where our dryer vent came out. They evaluated it appropriately and they explained what to look for in the future and how to locate it.

Ashbuster's returned by initial call (submitted request by email) on the same day. We scheduled for today. They called to confirm yesterday, and arrived on time today. Josh and Clyde were very professional. They provided the service within an hour, and took pictures of the inside of our chimney and the roof. They did a quick inspection and said that everything looked like it should. Very happy with the professionalism, the quality and the price!

It worked out fine. I bought a special for chimney cleaning, so I got a good deal on the special. They came pretty quickly. They were very good and very professional. They were competitive on price. They explained everything to me and they showed me pictures with the movie & all. I thought it was all good. I am going to use them again. I will be following with them on the surface.

Ashbusters offered an Angie's List special of $99 to do a normal cleaning and inpsection of the chimney and get it ready for the winter season. The servicer was prompt and friendly and also spent some time giving me some pointers on fireplace care as I have not had a fireplace in some time.

The workers from Ashbusters Chimney Service were very friendly and clean. They also came on time.

The experience was superb. When Ashbusters' team was finished with their work, I had a better understanding of my chimney and the importance of timely maintenance. Other work will be needed in the future, and I have no problem using Ashbusters. They know their business! I would award this company an "A" rating for professionalism, thoroughness, and cost effectiveness. I wouldn't hesitate to tell my neighbors that have chimneys to call Ashbusters!

Ash Busters swept and examined my fireplace and chimney. I also had them replace the mestal chaser and cap with one made from stainless steel. They did an excellent job!! I thought the chaser and cap were a bit expensive but otherwise these folks are great and i highly recommend them.

A complete analysis of 5 fireboxes with 4 chimneys was done. We knew a lot of work was needed before any inspections were done. Three companies looked at the job; Ashbusters came in under the others, did a fantastic job. Very professional crew; areas were clean and tidy upon their finish.

The experience was OK. It was a little pricey. They seemed professional and they were fine. Everything was good. They just looked in the chimney, they didn't do any work. They analyzed what the problem was. The inspection practice was fine, just expensive.

The technicians were polite, punctual and protected my carpet when the services were performed. After cleaning my chimney, they put a camera in the chimney and show me a crack that may have been caused by a chimney fire. They reapaired the crack at 2000.00 plus. The only complaint I have is the didn't show me the repair with the camera they had used to diagnose the problem. So, I really don't know if it was repaired or not. I asked for them to show me the repair with the camera and they told me to use a flash light and look up the chimney. That was a joke, as I could only view about 2 feet inside of a very tall chimney.

As expected. Pay $100 for a standard (and quality) sweep, while the technicians proceed to tell you how much repair the chimney needs. Many times, it's a way for them to get their foot in the door to "scare" you into thinking that the chimney is falling apart. I totally get it and was expecting that before they even arrived. I mean, it's a 70-year old house - of course the chimney needs repairs. They left me with an estimate of the cost to completely repair, and of course, it's close to $4k. Shocker. The second technician who smoked in my driveway was kinda lame. Overall, I'll use them if I get around to fixing everything.

Clyde was fantastic. He was prompt, professional, very neat and explained all of the various options and prices without any pressure. It turned out all I needed was a good cleaning and I had the chimney sealed since I no longer us the fireplace. I will definitely call them for service if I decide to have additional work done.

It went very well. They were very knowledgeable, seemed to do a very good job, and showed up on time. The two staff members that did the work were friendly, courteous, and did a good job.

It went well overall and I plan to check back with Ashbusters to get a quote to have my dryer vent rerouted to roof.

I called and scheduled an appointment to clean the chimney. We had recently purchased the house and was having it cleaned for the first time. A word of caution: When the technicians arrived and preformed an initial inspection I was informed that the chimney was too dirty and would required a longer appointment than was currently scheduled and they could not perform the work that day. I had scheduled time off from work to meet at the house and then to be told that I would have to call the office and reschedule was not a positive experience. To date I have not called to reschedule.

We contacted Ashbusters by email and within 2 days had a phone call to set up an appt. and they were at our house 3 days later.
