Sprout Roofing

After interviewing multiple roofers, Sprout actually analyzed the problem and gave me choices as to how to remedy it. The amount for the proposed solution was very reasonable. The representative was courteous and seemed genuinely willing to help his customer. I may sell the house "as is" but if I do install a new roof, I will call Sprout for the work.

Long story short: they'll do a great job on your roof. Be clear on exactly who you are working with before you hire them for anything else. The 19-year-old guy that they sent out to do the original estimate backed into our retaining wall. So, I started off irritated with them. But my husband had seen some of their roofing work and was adamant that these were the guys to use. While I feel that the project manager who eventually worked with us was sincere and did try to make us happy, ultimately I really have a poor judgement of our interaction with Sprout because of the subcontractor that they used to do the siding work. We would not hire them again. This was an insurance job due to hail damage. We did have a few extras added on. The price seemed okay but, in all truth, I didn't write the check for most of it. So I have given them an "A" for price. I don't remember any issues with punctuality and the office and project manager were both good to return my phone calls. So "A" for responsiveness and punctuality. They did a beautiful job with the roof and I can't complain at all about it. We did pay the difference for slightly upgraded shingles and it was worth the cost difference. I get compliments all of the time from both professionals and passers-by. They also did a great job on my neighbor's roof, which I have a good view of since my house sits higher than theirs. Roofing is clearly their specialty and they do it well. The subcontractors that they used for the siding work were a mess: they left empty energy drink cans and wrappers and trash all over my yard. They did not respect my repeated requests that they not smoke on my property and left cigarette butts all over the yard. They left construction debris scattered in my yard at the end of the week just took off - I had to call and complain to have it removed as I was expecting guests. Based upon my experience with other contractors, these guys just did not care about my property. That is why I give them an "F" for professionalism. We have been advised by another (highly rated Angie's List) professional that the seams where the siding pieces meet are not correct. They should overlap where ours are just meeting. So we are going to have some of the siding work corrected. We were having chimney work done after this job so they left the chimney cap in our basement for later placement. It didn't fit our chimney and we had to buy one that did. There seems to be some honest disagreement among thinking people as to how to correctly vent an attic. We went with Sprout's suggestion but this hasn't ultimately been the best choice for our property and it will cost us money to correct. I am giving them a "C" for quality because I have had to pay other contractors to fix these issues.

Mr. Sprout returned my calls promptly and provided a timely estimate. The work was accomplished as scheduled and performed to my satisfaction without requiring any return visits.

Repaired incorrectly installed "valleys" after an addition was added to my home. Had several leaks.

They replaced structure with temporary materials until insurance adjuster and contractor could be brought into the equation. They replaced structural supports, applied sheathing, covered roof with tarps to protect from further damage.

Used Angie's list to find roofing company as believe me it is hard to find teputable companies. Checked reviews and liked what I read about Sprout Roofing. Called and Caleb came and inspected and showed me sample of what new roof would look like and warranty. Measured and gave me several estimates for roof types. I chose the 30 year roof. Roofers were there in few days. I have had lot people work for me but I believe these roofers were hardest working guys I have had work for me. I am so pleased with my roof as it is BEAUTIFUL. Did not find any nails or old roofing pieces left in yard. Billy, project manager, very knowledgeable and did good job overseeing the job. Anyone who uses Sprout Roofing will be happy.

it was an excellent experience and i am very pleased with the results. i dealt with mark livesay and his team of workers lead by daniel. mark answered every question i had ,provided me with brochures and info and was extremely patient .in fact, in the middle of all those rains we were having,my ceiling was leaking and he climbed up and sealed the leak for me before i even hired him for the job. he responded to me in a timely manner and kept his appointments with me in a timely manner.he treated me with respect and answered every question i had. the clean up afterwards was wonderful- in total i found maybe 15 nails -all the rest they cleaned up with their giant magnet. i had dreaded the thought of getting a new roof with all the horror stories i heard from people,but my experience went quickly and smoothly. i now have a beautiful roof that i still love to look at and would recommend mark and his team to others.

Joe called me back quickly after making a call to the Sprout office inquiring about an estimate to repair a leak around the flashing of our chimney. He stopped by that afternoon and inspected our roof and chimney. He said that our roof was still in good shape. To replace the shingles around the roof would have cost close to $700. In the future, it will be cheaper to do that as a part of replacing the roof itself. He even took pictures to show me little things about the flashing and what he would do to repair it. So, he started by painting a sealant around the flashing. So far it has worked. I will say that Joe has stopped by in the past to provide an estimate for a bathroom remodel (that we never did). Just did it on a smaller scale. Anyway, he was very courteous and professional. He does not appear rushed and took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions.

My representative at Sprout Roofing was Mark Livesay. Mark was very professional from our very first contact until the project was completed. I interviewed seven roofing companies before choosing Sprout. Several of the roofing contractors gave me estimates based on measurements that were up to 35% more squares than the actual size of my roof, but Mark presented me with an exact aerial measurement of the roof that was accurate. I had a difficult time choosing the color of my roofing shingles and Mark was very patient with me while I shopped around. He also saved me from ordering a new shingle that had not been properly tested when he discovered a flaw in the installation procedure. I am very pleased with the workmanship of my new roof and the way it looks on my house. I would definitely recommend Sprout Roofing.

No leaks after 2 weeks of steady rain-had a flashing problem around fireplace which Sprout fixed. Only issues were some roofing nails left around property and a section of wood separating roof lines not replaced with new wood as promised. The wood piece seemed to result from a communication lapse between the job foreman and the appraiser representing Sprout. He promised they would come back in 2 weeks and fix. Will update on this when it occurs.

Went great. I explained to Mark what I was looking for on both my roof and some siding replacement. He found what I wanted and the price he gave me was very reasonable ( I had gotten estimates from others). Mark and everyone with Sprout did a great job and were very friendly.

Was on time and most professional. Took his time to explain job and a bit about the company. No pressure. Easily answered all questions and gave some helpful insights.

Sprout Construction was excellent. They were easy to work with. The person who gave me the quote actually worked on the job. They were very attentive. They did something I've never had anyone else do. They would call and tell me when they were not going to be coming. The weather conditions had been bad and he would call and say they wouldn't be there that day, but that they would be here tomorrow. I never had anybody do that. I didn't have to follow up and see if he was going to be there or not. He did a couple of other things that I thought was unique. He said they were going to make sure they would sweep the driveway, because nails are plentiful when you're doing roofing. It took four days to get it done because we had a rainstorm right in the middle of the project. They were very easy to work with from the financial point of view, because they had experience working with insurance companies. They were very professional. It was a young guy and he was smarter than his age, in dealing with people. They were just on the spot.

Daniel and his crew arrived at dawn, ready to work. He introduced himself and we reviewed the work to be done, along with the additional work requested. The crew started quickly, laying down tarps to catch old shingles and nails, then started removing the roof shingles down to the roof deck. Mark arrived later to make sure that everything was in order and that all materials were available. Daniel's roofing crew worked all day long, stopping only for about 10 minutes to eat lunch. The roofing shingles were installed, ridge vents were installed, and the area was cleaned of nails and old shingles as the darkness approached. The next day I went outside to see the completed job in the sunlight. The roof looked a lot better than I thought. It rained the next couple of days and the roof worked great! No leaks! Daniel and Mark came back after the rain (on a Saturday) to complete the gutter sealing, to make sure all the work was completed, and to review the final roofing installation with me. Mark, Daniel, and the roofing crew were extremely, polite, and professional throughout the job. I have never had such a positive experience with a contractor. I would definitely recommend Mark and Sprout Roofing to anyone desiring to have their roof replaced.

Our roof had been badly managed for decades; it's a late Victorian home, and it's passed through many hands ... not all of whom were responsible (or capable) owners. When Sprout arrived, we had at least two layers of poorly applied shingles all over everything. The flashing was made of old tar that was peeling off, the roof edges were rotting off, and a section of the gutters had already separated from the wood - threatening to topple into the yard. On top of all that, we were starting to see serious damage on the porch, and water collecting under the house due to the draining issues (leading to mold problems). But Sprout did a wonderful job - and everything looks 100% better now. They were prompt, thorough, and they did a fantastic job cleaning up after themselves. Our back porch/patio area looks better than before they arrived. They were even friendly to the dog - and went out of their way to clean up the back yard first, so we could let him out to do his business in the mornings and evenings. I recommend Sprout whole-heartedly - and in fact, I'm looking to use this company again with regards to some exterior trim work that needs some touching up. Two thumbs up!

Sprout Construction helped us out even with the new materials we didn't know about. They were attentive and they did a great job. Their price was good. The job supervisor was out here pretty much everyday while they were working. He was excellent to work with. He was just always there to take care of things.

They were good and reasonable. They weren't the cheapest but overall I picked them. They were very good. They did everything they were supposed to do and when they were supposed to do. I have recommended them to several people.

Was a lenghty process, mainly b/c of insurance, but Joe was patient and we are very pleased with the results!

Joe does an outstanding job. He was recommended by one of the roofing suppliers and happens to be on Signal Mountain where I live. Joe was one of 5 people to bid the job and THE ONLY ONE THAT ACTUALLY CLIMBED ON THE ROOF!!! He also reviewed our concerns from the attic and made recommendations. His prices were in line with other companies but Joe was the only one to follow up after making a quote to see if there were any questions or concerns. Most importantly, he "closed" for the job! I highly recommend his work.

They came out and gave me a quote very promptly after requesting one. They answered several questions over the next couple of weeks. Once I decided to use Sprout, they scheduled the work to be done within about one week of the phone call. It was going to be a 11/2 day to 2 day project. They showed up on time, worked all day, cleaned up for the evening. They show up the next morning on time and finished the job. They spent a great deal of time making sure that everything was cleaned up, picked up and looking good before they left. I have only found 2 roofing nails, which is very good, in my opinion. The foreman was helpful in answering questions and coming up with solutions to issues that arose doing the project. I would use them again. They also provided me with names and numbers of other individuals or companies that could do other work that I needed around the house. I appreciate the willingness to assist me in any projects that I needed guidance.
