Firehouse Chimney & Duct Clean aka Seymour Chimney

Kent was great. He is very professional in his work. He had another function come up the morning of our scheduled time and he called to ask if it was okay to reschedule, but said he understood if we couldn't. I told him it was no problem at all and we rescheduled for later in the afternoon. He called when he was finished with the first function to make sure it was okay to head our way. When he arrived, he was very friendly and considerate when coming in our home. He brought in a blanket to lay all of his tools and the log inserts from our fireplace on so as to not get anything on our carpet. He thoroughly inspected and cleaned every part of our fireplace and was thorough in demonstrating proper operation of it. I asked him about the vent cleaning they offer while he was there, and instead of being a sales person and pushing for us to have it done, he recommended that we inspect the vents with a flashlight first to confirm if they really need cleaning before committing to having someone do it. Since he is also a firefighter, he did scold me a little for not having my carbon monoxide/fire detectors installed yet that I had purchased, but I would prefer that kind of professionalism and caring over someone who doesn't pay attention and just does the minimum they are being paid for!

I used them through a big deal on Angie's List. I was quite pleased with his work. He was a very courteous gentleman. He knew what he was doing. He did a good job. They did what they said they were going to do. They were very professional in their field. With regard to price, my wife made those arrangements; I guess it was fine. I certainly would use them again in the future.

It was a great job and a very professional job. One fireplace would not stay lit when started and I had shut the pilot light off in the second one because I never used it much. When I was ready to use them (on those cold snowy days) I was unable to get either one lit. I was fearful of problems with the igniter or dirty or clogged gas lines, etc. so I wanted a professional look at them to make sure they were in proper working order. I am very uncomfortable around gas appliance and didn't want to trouble shoot the problems myself. He not only cleaned both fireplaces but removed a screen that was connected to the glass front of one of them. He suggested I would have a better view of the fire and it really made a difference! My fireplaces now look beautiful and both are working well. It really gave me a sense of peace, knowing that everything works properly and they are clean. He also showed me how to work both fireplaces. I would recommend Seymour Chimney Cleaning to anyone!

I had reviewed my last service with them which was performed last November when they had neglected to come for a follow-up. After that review, I was immediately contacted by the office manager to schedule that follow-up. She was very apologetic that we fell through the cracks and wanted to make it right. When the owner got here, he carefully inspected the chimney and discovered the reason for our problem with the smoking. Our damper was damaged from the years and was sticking in place. He replaced it and the cap free of charge! We are delighted to get our problem solved and will continue to have his company come out every year. They stand behind their service.

Kent showed an extreme amount of patience until he was able to get the gas flowing to our gas stove. He made many trips outside to check the gas tanks and make sure we had gas. He was knowledgeable and found the problem that caused us to not get the stove to lite. Explained to us how to start the stove properly ,which was very helpful. Kent was friendly and helpful.

Before the service call the scheduling was very easy to deal with - pleasant, kept me informed, answered questions, worked around my schedule. On the service call Kent was prompt, polite, very careful of furniture, floors, etc. in fireplace area. Did an excellent job cleaning. He was very thorough in his inspection and explanation to me. When I'm ready to have my duct work cleaned I will be calling them back with confidence that they will do a professional job.

They were very informative, very clean and told you exactly what they were doing. and very nice young men.

The request for service was responded to quickly. The service team arrived ahead of schedule after advising that they could do so. The work of servicing the gas fire burner (cleaning, checking and repairing connections)was thorough and professional. I would use this service again.

The service provider was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. My fireplace works like a treat. He noticed some issues with the external work outside the chimney on the roof, and my building contractor could fix those under the contract I already had with them. My chimney has been working like a treat, it draws very well.

Seymour Chimney Cleaning was awesome. We had a weird smell in the bedroom of the house we just bought. They cleaned the duct work and the smell is gone. They were very good. They were on time. We had good communication. They did the job right the first time.

Kent showed up on time, did his work cleanly and efficiently, made some suggestions and left. Just a perfect experience. Cleans dryer vents free as an extra service. Great guy, great service.

Provider showed up on time, got straight to work on the upstairs floor vents while I kept my infant awake downstairs. Once he was done with the upstairs vents, he moved downstairs so I could put the baby down for a nap. He then looked at my dryer vent (showed me where the vent dumped outside, too) and did the ceiling vents in my den/fireplace room. Then he did the fireplace--he even dumped the paper ash the previous homeowner had left for us. Total service took about three hours; we had 13 floor vents, two ceiling vents, and the fireplace, of course. This is a new home for us, and the previous owner lived here thirty years with pets, to which we are allergic. This service was indispensable to us as new homeowners. The chimney shows some signs of damage, and the damper will not close. They are going to send out the repair technician in two weeks (he is on a mission trip) to fix it. I will update this review with more info when that service is complete. UPDATE: After the 12/26/13 air duct cleaning, I got a 1/9/14 service call scheduled for the chimney repair tech to come out and look at my chimney damper and advise on repair. Conclusion: damper is rusted, one can be installed on top of the chimney. Tech also advised that instead of new cement cap that we consider a permanent stainless cap, which he would send me pricing info for the next day. Today is 1/15/14, and I still do not have an estimate in hand, unfortunately. I may have to call to obtain it.

Very prompt, professional, and gave great advice on the upkeep of my HVAC system. Would definitely use him again in the future.

A great bunch of guys.... Most are firefighters and understand the risks involved in not keeping ducts and dryer vents clean. Since, my son is a firefighter, I thought it was extra special meeting these guys who did a great job!!

They came out and cleaned all of the air ducts (35 or so). Two guys were here around 4 hours. They vacuumed the ducts to remove the large debris before running the brush through the ducts. They were prompt and friendly.

Very good and efficient service. The dryer vent had a lot of lint and they took extra time to fully clean it out.
