Firehouse Chimney & Duct Clean aka Seymour Chimney

everything went well. they were recommended by another customer and I will call them and recommend them to anyone needing the service.

I made an appointment by phone with the office manager for service in a few days.and told her I wanted to make sure they would do a couple of things I had not been able to get done by previous providers. The owner then called me very quickly and I sent him pictures of the installation. He was actually working nearby and asked if he could do the work that day. It was convenient for me so I said yes and he then called me in an hour and came to do the work in another half hour. He was polite, professional, and thorough. The work was done with no mess. He wiped down the stove and complimented the installation. It appeared that his equipment he used was was in good condition. I paid by check and he said I would get an emailed receipt, which has not come yet...but it was only yesterday. My two most recent experiences with chimney sweeps have not gone well. I look forward to using Keith again next year.

The tech arrived on time and diagnosed the problem quickly, cleaned the whole unit, replaced the part and fixed the fireplace. the tech was personable, customer orientated and cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend them.

He arrived on time for the appointment. He could tell I do not use the fireplace very often and said if I use it on a more regular basis I should have a tune up every year but if not I can go 4-5 years without having it looked at. He was very knowledgeable, professional and cleaned up after the job.

My husband said they did an OK job, could have been more thorough.

The 'owner' of the company, Kent Leitch, called an hour before they were supposed to show up for the repair job giving all kinds of excuses as to why he could not make it out to the scheduled appt. (He called because his other local employees cannot speak english.) A few of those excuses were: bad communication between employees in the company as they are a small business and things like that just happen. Even though I called a week in advance to make the appt. he was not prepared to do the job because he was not notified and given details about what was needed to be done and did not have the materials to complete the job. The fact that I spoke to him directly, a week ago and gave him all the details led me to believe he did not want to do the job at all after these lame and lousy excuses. He lied. Even though he offered a patronizing apology and alternative appt time, I reminded him that I had arranged this time with a day off and other delayed responsibilities. I had planned to be home to meet him and speak with him directly, face to face, in-case of other considerations. He said it sounded like he could do the job with no one home and that he would come out, do the job and then settle payment at a later date. That is not how I do business with a company coming to my home for the first time. I wanted to meet him and speak about what needed be done to repair my leaking chimney. Though he mentioned my appt was his only one for the day, he still could not get it together and make it to my place to get the scheduled job done. All in all my experience with Seymour Chimney (Firefighter Home Services) was unprofessional and disappointing. I would NOT recommend their company or services!

Wow! Kent was very professional. He did an excellent job taking his time in each room to make sure the job was done right and also took the time to give us some great advice on fire safety for the home. I would recommend him and the company without hesitation. We are very pleased and will be sticking with his company!

They were extremely professional and willing to work with us on a discount for having multiple families in the neighborhood for the dryer vent cleaning. Will work with them again.

It went well. The guy who came out was prompt and very knowledgeable. I was pleased with what he did. He had been a firefighter so he knew quite a bit about fire safety and that was a plus to me. His pricing was also good.

It was okay. The guy was very talkative. He seems like he knew what he was doing. He kind of told us not exactly what we needed to do but it was semi safe. We were kind of vague about whether or not it’s safe or not. He said we could probably use it but it wouldn’t like pass an inspection. He was very personable. The pricing was fine.

My wife got them off Angie's List! They just come out to inspect the chimney, whether it's clean and safe and all that sort of stuff, it's a gas fireplace. It was a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't that terribly much because they don't do any work on it, they come out and inspect and that sort of stuff. They gave me a clean bill of health on the chimney, they said it was clean, so they couldn't take me for any cleaning money. I do have a sensor in there that the pilot light is aimed at, you know if the pilot light goes off, it automatically shuts off the gas. It's a safety thing. It's a good thing. It was just one guy and he did fine. I had no problem with him personality wise or anything. He was professional. Did his job, he just came in and stuck his head up the chimney. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. He could have come in and said that the chimney needed cleaning, but he did not do that. The price was reasonable because my wife got it. He was here when he said he would be here. We called and made an appointment and he showed up. I would recommend him to somebody else.

There were no problems with scheduling and there were no additional costs beyond the price of the deal. The technician spent about a hour on the job and cleaned up when he was finished. They did a wonderful job.

He was pretty knowledgeable. The reason I called him was because he came up from Angie's List and he pretty much has 99% positive reviews.

Everything went well. Cleaned my fireplace logs and all. He even found an old petrified squirrel that had gotten in there that I didn't know about. Also, my pilot light control was frozen up and he got that going again.

he inspected the fireplace and the chimney and reported clean he report thatthefireplace censor was bad and needed replaced all in all he gets an a in my book
