Barnes Electric

Barnes Electric was outstanding. After emailing them on Sunday, I was contacted within an hour and asked if I wanted the repair performed---even on a Sunday. I told them Monday would be fine. Promptly, around 8am on Monday I was contacted and asked what would be a good time to perform the repair. We set the time between 1-3 and they said the would call 30 minutes prior to arrival. Sure enough, I received a call around 1:30 that they were on the way. They arrived by 2, troubleshot the problem with professional quality, and were very proficient in repairing the problem. They were clean, courteous and I will use them next time.

Barnes has done a lot of work at my house and I'm continually impressed with the work and professionalism of the crew. The latest job was a new install of a ceiling fan on the front patio. They ran new electricity to the patio and installed the fan. It looks and operates great. I would highly recommend James and the team. Very prompt, friendly and they do great work!

He went and bought $100 dimmers and didn’t tell me or give me a receipt for the dimmers. He tried to charge me $1,000 for putting the dimmers in the house. I got him to knock down the price but I still ended up paying $500 more than I needed to pay.

Team was excellent - from office staff to installers. I had to reschedule due to a last minute emergency and they worked with me to find another time. Installers were able to answer all questions, they worked quickly and cleaned up when they were done. Will definitely use for other jobs. I had bought a deal for $113 ceiling fan install (they also put the fan together), and then it was an additional $279 to wire the room for overhead lighting.

It was a pretty straightforward job and they were efficient and polite. We will be using them again to install a GFI in the crawl space, and (long-term) to rewire our entire house when we remodel.

Found and replaced a number of faulty switches in addition to installing the surge protector

James Barnes came to look at a couple of faulty plugs and a couple of weird acting light switches. Per my wife, he gave an up front price and completed the work properly and quickly. He accepted the coupon from Angie's List and offered a discount for any future work. We had an overall positive experience with Barnes Electric.

Mr. Barnes was very helpful and very professional. He even brought a basket truck to reach the outside spot light because it was about 40 ft up on the corner of the house. This was all done in a very short period of time showing his high level of experience (30 years).

From first call to last cleanup, they were competent, efficient, and polite. Since the company charges by the job, not by the hour, Mr. Barnes brought with him three other electricians. Before starting, Mr. Barnes began by introducing his team and described each person's backgrounds and skills. They divided up the jobs, went to work, and finished much more rapidly than I anticipated. After seeing them at work, I added two more projects. These were accomplished quickly, since some of the other projects were done and two electricians were waiting for the others to finish. Prior experience with electricians made me wonder if projects were slowed down to increase the billable time. This was irrelevant with Barnes Electric, since the company charges by the job/project, not by time. The best description of Barnes Electric is professional.

We were desperate to get our electricity fixed after a tree branch completely knocked down electrical wires outside our house. This was the only company that responded to my request on a Sunday. They did the estimate Sunday and work Monday. House was back up and running a few hours after he began the work. The price was steep, but this was reasonable as we knew we'd be paying extra for someone coming out to help us out on a Sunday. Overall very happy with the work and 6 months later no problems.

Everything went very well. He was professional and punctual and called me before he arrived. James did a great job. However, (my fault) the remote control, that I purchased, didn't fit in the housing of the fan since the canopy was angled and too small. He advised me that if I found something that would be a better fit he would come back out and replace it at no additional charge. I thought this was very fair.

It went very well! I had very difficult time issues to work around and they really accommodated my time constraints. Plus it was a huge job and they took care of the permit stuff and brought it to me to sign so that I could take care of everything else instead of having to go down town in the middle of my day to get permits from the codes dept. Fantastic! I'm not happy about the price because I'm tight and I'm proud of it, but I wouldn't have gotten it done any cheaper anywhere and with the angieslist.com discount, I was certainly as happy as I could be.

The owner of the company and an assistant responded within thirty minutes of my call. He was booked up for several days. But came to my home since it appeared that I might have a dangerous electrical problem. Considered it an emergency. He quickly analyzed the problem. Also, gave me a reasonable estimate on replacing and upgrading my breaker box. I probably will upgrade soon. He charged me only for the service call. Received a 10% discount. I would call the company again if I have an electrical issue. Also, I recommend the company to others on Angie's List.

Mr. Barnes honored his quote of $300 even though job took longer than anticipated. He also went to local LOWES to locate proper equipment to finalize project. Very happy w/ service!

Fantastic experience. Mr. Barnes was very professional. I called him on a Monday afternoon and we set up a time on Tuesday for the estimate. We are moving to Nashville from over an hour away, and he was very kind about accommodating my schedule. He showed up 15 minutes early, walked through the house, and answered my many questions. An estimate arrived via email two days later. My husband and I were pleased with the price, and I told him I would call him when the sconces I needed to order arrived. When the sconces arrived, I called Mr. Barnes and we set up a time for him to install all the fixtures on Monday (a few days away). When Monday morning arrived, the forecast was calling for severe weather and a possibility of tornadoes throughout the day. Because of this, I didn't want to drive to Nashville and Mr. Barnes was fine with rescheduling the appointment. At our rescheduled date, he once again showed up 15 minutes early. He and his crew were able to get everything done in a few hours, and it looks fantastic. When putting sconces in the kitchen, he had to cut a few holes in the drywall (he told me previously that he would have to do this), but he patched up the holes when he was done. Mr. Barnes even went out and bought light bulbs (without charging us) to put in the new fixtures. We couldn't be happier with the work that was done. We will definitely use him in the future and will recommend him to our friends.

They responded within a hour to my request for service. Expected day or days to get to my house but Barnes made it to the house within an hour as advised upon my initial call. He only took a short time to find the problem finding only that the back of house outlet had moisture in it and replaced the cover Plug has not since trip the ground fault since Very profession,knowledgeable, and efficient. I would hire them again within a heart beat
