Barnes Electric

Before that I had Prestige Electric out here and for the same job they wanted $850. They actually came out, looked at the work and did a written estimate. I almost fell off the chair. So I called these people, got them out there for $175 and they did the exact same thing.

I do use them all the time. They are absolutely excellent people.

I installed a ceiling fan and it didn't work. Barnes came and reinstalled it properly. Excellent service.

I highly recommend Barnes Electric. James and his crew installed a ceiling fan in our gazebo and the whole experience went perfectly. They were prompt, friendly, professional, and went the extra mile to make sure that the ceiling fan was installed exactly the way we wanted it. I was very impressed with their attention to detail and how reasonable their service cost was. I will definitely use them again for any future electrical work.

My wife and I can't recommend them enough. When we bought our house, several electrical issues on our inspection report needed to be addressed immediately, and James Barnes and his team addressed each one of them to our full confidence and satisfaction. They were honest, professional, punctual, and super responsive throughout the time they were at work on our house. The price was more than fair, the work was all done to code, and they were happy to answer all of our many questions throughout the process. They have earned a lifetime customer in us, and we 100% recommend them.

Everything went very well. As a new homeowner, I've been plagued by bad service, bad attitudes, tardiness, broken/non working equipment, exorbitant costs. Not here. They were punctual, returned my calls in a timely manner (within 24 hours, that's definitely appropriate for a business), came out for a free estimate at a time that was really inconvenient for him, and then gave me the estimate on the spot, beating out the nearest competition by a couple hundred dollars. On the day of service, he came on time, properly staffed, and completed the job in a timely manner, cleaned up after himself, and did a great job. He and his team had a great personality, and gave me the warranty run down before he left. If I need additional electrical work, I'll definitely call them.

I have used Barnes Electric before. I can't remember if I wrote a review, but it would have been stellar. I called them this time because of that past experience. A duplex has been running crazy high electric bills and I called Mr. Barnes to set up an appointment. It wasn't as soon as I wanted, but I know they are in demand and my situation wasn't an emergency. (My earlier experience could have been and he came right away on a Saturday.) He and his crew came on time, calling me ahead to let them know they were on the way. One of the men was a trainee, so not only was he explaining things to me, he was showing and explaining very well to this other man. Once he was through with the check, he told me it looked like the problem was with the heating system and he told me why. He knew of a company right there in Gallatin and called them to see if they were available. I called them to make an appointment the next day. (They are Derryberry's Heating and Air and I gave them a good review.) Mr. Barnes is professional and approachable both. It's obvious that he wants to make sure his customers understand what's going on and he treats people very fairly. This is a duplex that's undergoing minor renovation and the place is hardly pristine. I had tracked in mud myself as it was raining badly. Still, all three men wore shoe covers and they wiped up the floor with paper towels before they left.

Mr. Barnes came out to diagnose some problems with my breaker box, he got everything up and running again for a very reasonable price. He was very informative and friendly. A friend just purchased a home and I referred Mr. Barnes to him to replace a old fuse box and I'm told he did amazing work on that job too! I would refer him to anyone!

Provider showed up despite substantial amount of snow and ice in Portland (a few hours late, but communication was excellent and he was on time with the agreed to revised time). Crew was very clean, courteous and professional. Very happy with end result. Would recommend him to anyone needing similar work. Bid for work was a bit higher than his competitor (by $50) on pure $ quote basis, but with all the parts, fixtures, and bulbs provided....they were by far the best value.

James inspected the wiring and breaker boxes in our detached garage and apartment. He made recommendations what needed fixed for safety reasons and for future upgrades. He was very professional and prompt. I plan to hire James to fix the wiring issues I am encountering with our newly purchased house.

These guys were great! First, they were extremely punctual. They arrived at the exact time they said they would arrive. Second, they were very professional. They spoke with authority about the electrical issues we were having with the ceiling fan and chandelier, and explained exactly what caused the problems. Last, they were fast. Two men arrived at 6:30. They fixed the pre-existing wiring issues and assembled and installed the ceiling fan and chandelier in about 40 minutes. Best of all, they were very easy to talk to. I will certainly be using them in the future for all of my electrical needs.

He arrived on time, was pleasant and efficient. I thought the cost was reasonable with the Angie's List coupon. Will use again in the future.

I started this project, but I could not get my new dimmers working. I decided I needed professional help, so I messaged James through Angie's List. James was gracious enough to call me on a Sunday evening. He listened to my story and said he knew how to fix it. He had an unexpected opening and we were able to schedule a next-day appointment (I got lucky). James was very knowledgable, friendly, and even took the time to teach me a thing or two. Once he showed me what I did wrong, the rest was a snap, and my dimmers work flawlessly now. Thank you James!

called for appointment and received immediate reply and scheduling within 48 hours. Electricians were waiting at my house at beginning of service call window. they were kind, respectful of my house and very quick. price was great. will use them again and again.

I chose James from the Angie's List options because of his high ratings. I thought I had a problem and needed it taken care of immediately, and I was leaving town in a few days. James tried to come that same evening after his scheduled appointments were taken care of, but for some reason traffic was at a standstill, so he excused himself until the next morning. He showed up first thing the next day, took a look at the issue at hand and advised me there was in fact no problem, a great relief to me. But while he was here he took a look at other things around the house, gave me some very good advice on several issues, and estimates for future work, (all this while Mario replaced a loose electric outlet). And then he said I didn't owe him anything. He said he felt bad that he was delayed a day. James seems very knowledgeable about his profession and the parts and pieces that accompany it. He and Mario were both very careful about not tracking in debris from the yard (it had just rained and wet leaves were everywhere outside). I will use him again (for my own benefit as well as to repay his kindness), and highly recommend him.

Everything went perfectly. The installation was quick and the provider was very clean which I appreciated. I will use their services again in the future.

Work was terrific. Individuals that completed the work were very informative of what needed to be done and why the issue we had was happening. Only concern we did not get an invoice for work completed. Called their office and asked the same thing of them and have never received a copy. Only thing we have showing something was completed is cancelled check.

Though the deal was for a complete electrical inspection, the gentleman came out and customized the deal to my particular needs. He checked the boxes, gave some recommendations, and repaired a disconnected light circuit. I was satisfied with his service, knowledge, and professionalism.

Mr. Barnes and his assistant Mario were conscientious and professional. They completed all the work that day despite the fact the Mr. Barnes had been ill and one of the ceiling fans had to be serviced by a factory representative (it was improperly assembled at the factory). Mario was efficient and left his work area neat and tidy. Having quality employees is a reflection of Mr. Barnes' attitude about doing a good job.

Required a ceiling fan and fixed the problem.

It took a while to locate the short, then the repair was accomplished very quickly.
