Description of Work: I needed a 220V breaker replaced so I called Barnes Electric because they were at the top of your list. They promised to call back with an appointment time when I called at 8:00AM. No one had called by noon so I called and spoke with a different person that promised to check with the electrician and call me right back. They never called and I wasted a whole day before I called someone else to do the simple job. It was very unprofessional in my opinion and if they were too busy they could have said that at 8:00AM.

Description of Work: Called to fix two broken toilets and the shower valve on master bath. Both toilets were broken again within 2 days. Shower valve repair was fine. Never received bid for larger project in guest bath.

+ -1 moreJames was extremely responsive. He arrived on the day I contacted him, was very professional and completed the job promptly and efficiently. Before each outlet and switch he replaced/fixed, he gave me the price up front and allowed me to make the decision as to whether to proceed with the work. As others have noted, James wore protective coverings over his shoes to not track dirt into the house, which was very appreciated. I certainly will call James again if the need arises. He is not only good at his job, but also is a very friendly and likeable guy.
Description of Work: A lightening strike to a nearby power line toasted several small appliances and 2 HVAC units. It also knocked out several outlets and light fixtures. James fixed the outlets and light fixtures and verified that there was power to the HVAC units. Because fixing the HVAC units themselves was beyond the scope of an electrician's work, I called a separete heating and air specialist for those.

Description of Work: Barnes Electric installed track lighting in my husband's music studio. They were professtional from the start - even put on booties before entering the house. The time from estimate to having the work done was just a couple of day. Couldn't be happier with their work. I highly recommend them for electrical work.

+ -1 moreThere was an Angie's list deal going on with this company to install two prewired light fixtures for $99 so I thought I would check them out for that and a quote for a 110v circuit for a pump we were thinking of getting. When they showed up they looked very professional and even put booties over their shoes before they walked in the house! They gave me very reasonable quotes and even an additional discount just for being an Angie's list member! Gotta love that! We never got the pump so there was no need for the 110v circuit anymore but we are hanging onto their number for any electrical work in the future.

The work was done about a week later and it looks and operates beautifully. The work is exactly as he promised and exactly what we wanted. James and an associate had the installation done in about 3 hours with no muss, no fuss. They took all their trash with them and ieft the area just as it had been. I was so impressed with their professionalism. They even put on paper booties over their shoes before coming into my home. Such attention to detail seems to be a habit with them. I am very pleased with the company and the work they did.
