Barnes Electric

They were pretty efficient, I was happy with the service. But I do feel that I paid a little more than I should have had to, not more than what we've agreed upon but I think it was a little pricier than it should have been. But over all I would give them high marks.

Barnes Electric provided a superb service. From the moment I called James, he promptly called me back and even apologized for not getting back to me sooner. I called him to confirm that they provide services in the Nashville area and thankfully they do. He was very accomodating to my schedule (Monday late afternoon). He was polite, and very professional. On Monday I called James to ask him if his guys (who were doing the inspection) had a tall stepladder to change a lightbulb in my cathedral ceiling. Originally, I had hired a handy man to do several small repairs in my house and he was supposed to bring a tall ladder to change the lighbulb but he brought a regular ladder and not a stepladder so he was not able to do it. So I called James and he said no problem to do it. On the day of my appointment, I got caught up at work and called him to let them know I was running late and asked them to please wait for me. He told me he would call his guys and let them know I was on my way and to please wait for me. When I finallyarrived, they were very kind and did not seem annoyed by the fact I was late. There were 3 guys, Bo, Mario and another guy, they were absolutely great. They did the inspection (put booties not to drag dirt to my house, something I always appreciate) inside and outside. They found out that the neutral cables were too loose so they tighten them up (inside and outside). Bo said it was an easy fix. Then, I asked him about changing the lighbulb and how much it would cost me. Bo called the owner, James, and James said it would be complimentary. I could not believe it. They offered me a free electrical imspection for being an Angie's list memeber and on top of that, they changed my lighbulb for free. That's unheard of. Then he proceeded to change the lighbulb, after that he even offered to change other lighbulbs around my house (garage) but he did not have his tallest stepladder. I told them not to worry about it, but they were so nice and insisted to help if they could. I have always being wary of electrician as there are some who try to take advantage of people, especially women, but this company and his employees are absolutely the best. They explained everything they did in my house, were polite, professional and more than fair. Barnes Electric is definitely the only company I will ever call for any electrical services in my houses ( primary residence and rental property). I usually do not write such long reviews but I felt that everyone should know about the quality of Barnes Electric.

James is wonderful. Our deck had been re-built and in the process, we lost our power to everything out there. He ran a temporary wiring to the pool heat pump for no charge so we could enjoy the pool over Memorial Day weekend, then he came back with the crew several days later to do the permanent job. He did all sorts of other things too. James couldn't be nicer or more professional and his crew is great too. AND he gave us 10% off everything for being Angie's List members, saving us almost $150. Nice! We are so glad we know about him. We'll definitely use him again in the future as he does stellar work.

They were very good. They were professional and gave a free same-day estimate. He was right in the middle as far as the price. He was good at cleaning up after himself.

James was right on time for both giving me an estimate and getting the work done. He was very receptive to what I needed done and helped me by giving me different options with the pros and cons of each. He and his crew are very knowledgeable and professional. He actually went beyond the scope of the work we had agreed on and didn't charge anything extra. I will definitely use Barnes Electric for any future projects. Great job!

James was very professional as was the rest of his team. Scheduling was very easy and quick for both visits. The work was done on time and they left the place clean. They did an excellent job and accomodated a few minor changes we requested without issue.

I sent in a request in Angie's list, and got a phone call within the hour. He came the next day to give me an estimate. I approved the estimate, and he did the work right away. He was friendly, fast, and provided quality work. The prices was on par as well.

James Barnes from Barnes electric was on time and did a great job. He installed a surge protecter at the main panel that will protect the whole house. He was honest and very experienced. Will definitly use him again.

The folks at Barnes were so pleasant to work with, and gave us a precise window then the installer would be here. He was on time and done with the job in NO time. = ) They will definitely stay on our go-to list.

They were prompt, courteous and did an outstanding job. I will use them again to replace additional light fixtures. I highly recommend.

It went very well. He was polite and knowledgeable. He came when he said he would and charged what he said he would. I was very pleased and would use him again. They are fair and honest electricians.

Came back to do the extra work asked for. Adapted well to a change I had made in some of the work. However, didn't check what I had asked for before coming out and did not have a part for some of it that I had originally ordered. That is the only concern I had. Did good electrical work and was fair.

James and two associates arrived one day after my call. First they diagnosed the faulty neutral wire problem -- caused by shorted switched and hot wires in a separate outlet -- fixed the wiring and the bad outlet. They checked the arc fault breakers and found them to be working properly. Then they installed whole house surge suppressors in each main panel. Finally I asked them to inspect both interior panels for proper wiring. They performed this work in 1.5 hours. James and his associates were prompt, friendly, and totally professional. When I again need an electrician, I will call James Barnes Electric Service.

They were amazing to work with. They arrived on time, conducted a thorough quote, and accurately described the work that needed to be completed. At one point, we needed to wait for one of our equipment suppliers to call us with key information for a project to be completed. James waited patiently and stayed until the job was done. Great customer service!

I am very pleased I found Barnes Electric to do work in our house. James is responsive in both email and via the phone. He provides clear up-front pricing for the work. He treats my house better than every professional that has crossed through our front door. He removed all of the boxes from the work, laid down pads under the work area, swept, and I even overheard him telling an employee who was about to set down a ladder to, "never lean it against the wall". His crew is always polite and friendly. And as the owner of a dog who is very excited to meet new visitors, I am quite pleased with his proactive approach in engaging and calming him. This company has it all -- fair price, professionalism, quality and attention to detail.

I have used Barnes Electric a couple of times before today. Everything they have done has been top notch. From installing new lighting in my kitchen, bath and foyer to installing ceiling fans. I called him recently to see if he could come out and install a porch ceiling fan for me but he was tied up with a big job, so I called another company, that didn't go very well. I called James and asked if he could come out to see what could be done to correct the problem. They came out today, fixed the problem and once again I am a very happy customer thanks to the guys at Barnes Electric.

Went great. He was very friendly, didn't mind our enthusiastic dog, fixed everything quickly. Super nice and very professional. I highly recommend him!

Mr. Barnes was very responsive to my request. I sent him an e-mail over the weekend. He responded for me to call 1st thing Monday morning. I called and he stated he would arrive between 12:00 and 2:00 in the afternoon. He called again about 20 mins. before his actual arrival. His crew did an excellent job, and cleaned up upon leaving. All light fixtures and outlets now work in my 1961 house. I also used Mr. Barnes previously (November 2012) to install a breaker and outlet for my new stove. He was equally responsive on that occasion also. He does excellent work at reasonable rates.

Mr. Barnes is knowledgeable, answers questions and allays concerns in an affable professional manner. His staff was efficient and professional as well. We will definitely use them when needed, and would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

Very well. They were on time, professional, did a great job, and cleaned up after the installation. They were great to deal with and I would do so again based on the work we received.

Called Barnes in the morning and they were at the house in the afternoon. They fixed the outlet and replaced it with a plug I supplied -- great guys and did a nice job. A+

The run from tub to box was a long one which they did in a manner that hides the run around the house. They finished the job, cleaned up and presented the invoice that contained no surprises. Barnes is now my first call for electrical work.

We had had Barnes Electric out to our house for quotes before but had never used them. I was so impressed by their professionalism on their first visit they were the first ones on my mind for the electrical work that I needed done in my basement. Some outlet boxes had rusted due to some moisture in the walls and before we closed the walls up again we wanted to replace them with plastic outlet boxes rather than metal ones. I called Barnes Electric and they sent someone over first thing the very next morning! He got here right on time and before he walked into the house put those little booties over his shoes to protect my floors. I really appreciate that. It just showed such appreciation for their clients' homes. He looked at our boxes and did not have the right size plastic outlet boxes in his truck so he actually went to hardware store to find some for us right then and there! He came back and replaced 3 outlet boxes and some of the damaged wiring in less than an hour! While he was here I also asked if he could help us install a light in our foyer that was too high for us to reach. He did that as well in a matter of minutes. That task would have taken my husband and myself hours and would not have been a fun experience so I was so glad that he was able to handle that for us. I would call Barnes Electric again and again. They aren't as close as some other companies but they are fantastic and are willing to drive to their customers. The are super professional and responsive! I would highly recommend to all!
