All the rerouting of the wires was, I am sure, a great deal of work for the electricians. There were was a lot of trouble shooting to be done. It was only because of their knowledge and "stubborness" that they were able solve the problems. Excellent job. Hire them!!!

The team arrived within three minutes of the expected time. They began working like well oiled machines. The originally planned work was complete within 30 minutes and they offered to complete additional work since there is a 1 hour minimum.

I have used Helton Electrical twice now after seeing their reviews on Angie's List, so this review covers both experiences. These guys are excellent and I will definitely use them for any other electrical needs. They are very friendly and polite, responsive when I have called, have been punctual both times they have come to the house and immediately get to work on whatever you need. They work very quickly and are thorough in their work.

We were watching TV in the den about 9 p.m. when the lights went out. Wife said she heard a pop. We then discovered only eight wall sockets were dead. All other wiring in the house was working. I advised Angie we needed an electrical company. I chose one on her list and made an appointment. Two men responded promptly. They quickly understood what had happened and began work. They explained every detail of their work and replaced eight wall sockets in slightly more than one hour. It was a very positive experience and I would most certainly call this company for any future electrical needs.

Two electricians showed up. They were on time for an early morning appointment. They were very courteous and helpful and kept us informed throughout the job. They completed all work in a timely manner at a reasonable cost and made a suggestion that improved our outside lighting situation that we had a problem with.

I am not an electrician, but I know how to replace and repair switches, outlets, install new circuits, hot water heaters, that sort of thing. I have a lot more experience with contractors than the average homeowner. I do not give good recommendations often. Trust me, these guys are EXCEPTIONAL. They kept me informed, they were totally honest about everything they found and everything they did. Embarrassing to say, but I was a worse customer than they were a service provider. I had a payment due to me that did not come in and I had to delay several weeks in getting full payment to Helton. On top of everything else, they could not have been more gracious and understanding. We worked it out and they got their full due. I cannot recommend these people any more highly. I should probably shut up so they don't get too busy for me to use them again.

The guys from Helton arrived a little before the appointed time. They were here for 2 hours. The problem was from a fan in the patio room that had been spliced into security lights by another electrician a few years ago.They found the problem and fixed it, and also installed another outlet for us downstairs. Both guys were very professional, and we are very happy with the work they did. No wonder they were number one in their category! Thanks, Angie

The Helton electricians (two men) showed up timely and fixed the problem swiftly. My breaker was an old one which they did not have on their truck but a worker quickly went to get one that fit. The men asked if we needed anything else done and we had them switch out an outside light fixture and this job went very fast also. We were very pleased with the work. They were very professional.

Service was punctual, estimate was fair considering the amount of work they had to do, including some minor electrical updating on our 50 year old home. The new mast is so much more durable-looking than the old one--much thicker. I don't think a tree will be bringing it down next time! The new outlet in the garage works and was just what we needed. We have more work to do in the house and will be contacting them first for it.

From arrival to finish, the gentleman worked thoroughly to determine , repair and allow us to use the outlets again

Chris did the work with an assistant both times and was friendly and professional. He answered my many questions patiently (and was also patient with my chatty children). I have an older house and what made the service great rather than just good was the fact that Chris was willing to check out the general health of my electrical system as he installed the replacements throughout the house. He made a few recommendations that I'll call them back to implement soon. He worked efficiently and something I had dreaded turned out to be a pleasant and easy experience.

They were very punctual and responsive to all our needs in finishing our basement. We had to have many outlets added, lots of lighting added and several switches moved. The guys were very professional and polite and really wanted to make sure I was pleased with their work. We had an electrical issue seperate from the basment and they quickly came and helped us relove that as well. Would definitely use them again... I put a "B" on price only because it always stings alittle when paying this much for a service...but I feel they did an excellent job and that's what you want to pay for!

Didn't know who to turn to for electrician so joined Angies List and glad I did. They were quick, puctual, professional, great quality and very reasonable cost. Job took about 2 hours to complete.

From the first phone conversation with Helton Electrical the staff was very professional and friendly. They were accommodating to my requested date and time and gave me a quote as to the hourly rate. I was told I would receive a confirmation call the day before the appointment which they did. Jason and Jeremiah arrived on time and introduced themselves. Jason went over with us what we wanted completed and the best way to do it. Both men worked well together and discussed the best way to thread wire for the microwave line through kitchen walls. The new line works great and our microwave no longer trips the breaker when used with other appliances like the toaster and dishwasher. The change from a ceiling fan to an antique ceiling light proved harder than anticipated. With our 100+year old house, we have found nothing is what is expected. And this was no exception. Jason and Jeremiah worked tirelessly installing a new ceiling box in order to hang a heavy leaded glass antique lamp. They also had to reconfigure the hanging apparatus of the lamp to fit modern fixtures. During the whole ordeal they both proved professional and worked so well together trying to complete this puzzle. Jeremiah's muscles proved their strength while holding up this heavy lamp during wiring. For the next task they worked on the front porch outlets which seemed a simple task for them after the muscle straining ceiling light. Jason made sure exactly where I wanted the outlets and explained how the GFI outlets would look. They were situated exactly where I needed them and are safe in a weather prone area. The guys spent 4 hours completing these tasks. They answered all our questions and made sure we were satisfied with the work before they left. I recommend Helton Electric to anyone. They will be the first I will call in the future. Thanks guys.

Helton Electrical was suggested to me by my home inspector, Roger Williamson. At first, I was hesitant because I figured like all subcontractors, motivation was for kickbacks/referrals, etc. I checked Angie's List and saw the high reviews, so I decided to go through it with it. I have several other bigger jobs, so I decided to do a small test through this ceiling fan job before committing with other more complicated work. I scheduled the job for 8 am this morning. Since I didn't actually live at the location yet, I drove there at around 7:55 am thinking I would wait for a few minutes for them since most people down here in the South seem to like taking their time. To my surprise, they were already there looking at the electrical panel outside my house. It looked like they had already been there a few minutes since they had unpacked their van and tools. I let them in the house and showed them where I wanted the fan installed, the switch I wanted it hooked up too, and the attic entrance. I went and did a few chores around the house. An hour and a half later, they were finished. They ran into a bit of a snag during installation because the old house had ceil heat installed in the ceiling, making it difficult to cut a hole for the fan box. What I really liked was how efficient they were at their work. There were two electricians. One went to the attic and started to run wiring while one started to cut a hole in the ceiling. Once he finished cutting a hole in the ceiling, he immediately started to assemble the fan. Which I told him he didn't have to do since I knew how to do that part. He told me that since the other guy in the attic wasn't finished yet, he might as well do something productive. Paying the $170 for the ceiling installation, not having to do it myself, and having the peace of mind that it was done properly in the attic was well worth it. They definitely passed my test and I will be using them for my other bigger jobs. I was even hoping they would point out the obvious hazards in the attic, which they did. They gave me a quote for much less than I had expected and I feel that I got more than my money's worth. I had expected to pay $300 for this job because I know most subcontractors like to take their time and bank in useless hours. I feel like these guys wanted to get the job done (properly) and move on the next job. The next job will be running wires for 8 cameras and fixing up the electrical mess in the attic, which will come in at around $400 according to their quote. Again, well under what I was expecting to pay anyways. I'm actually surprised how the company can make any money at such low quotes. Everyone seems to say that Helton Electrical charges a bit more than other people (which added to my original reservations), but really. Take a look at the math. For example, for the ceiling fan I had installed. It included wiring and a fan box, which would cost around $15-20 retail. Figure in taxes and I paid 2 guys about $135 for one and a half hours of work. That's about $45/hour for these guys, not including any company overhead, which is probably 50% of the hourly fee. That is not bad at all and I feel like these two guys deserved to be paid the maximum hourly rate for electricians. They even cleaned up better than I had expected. They offered to haul away the trash, and the one guy seemed especially intent on getting every last bit of insulation that fell to the floor. He must've swept the same spot for 5 minutes. If you can't tell, I'm very happy with the work and would highly recommend Helton Electrical.

It went perfect from start to finish! They waited to schedule their visit until I would be off from work, and when they arrived, they were very prompt, very professional, and very friendly. They went to work immediately, solved the problems quickly and showed me how they arrived at their conclusions. They gave me various options for my two kitchen projects, and we already have the next appointment scheduled.

They showed up promptly after I called, they advised me as to what needed to be done. and gave me an estimate. The next day they showed up on time, completely the work, cleaned up and charged me what had been estimated. A great job done professionally.

On March 6, 2012, Jason Helton and a work crew came to my house to give me a quote on some electrical work we needed done. I listed the projects for him and he went around the house checking what would be required and how much it would cost. With my approval, other members of the team set about fixing two of the problems that were on the list. It took them less than 30 minutes to solve the problems and correct them. Two days later, I received Helton's quote in the mail. The amount seemed more than fair, so I called them to arrange for the work to be done. To their credit, they were right up front about their time table. Southeast Tennessee had very recently suffered major storm damage and they were "covered up". It would be a couple of weeks before they could get to my projects. Since I was not in a rush for the remaining work to be done, I accepted that. Helton stayed in touch with me regarding when the work could start, and we eventually settled on a date. On March 27th, Jason came to my house to do the work that I needed. He brought another electrician (Jeremiah) with him, we went over the job again to make sure we were all in agreement, and they set to work. Total work time on the job was about 6 hours, not including the hour break they took for lunch. The work was performed efficiently and professionally, making sure everything was code compliant. Jason, the lead man on the job, took every opportunity to explain each step, what the code required, and how they were going to go about completing it. At job completion, Jason and Jeremiah set about cleaning up and actually left most areas cleaner and in better shape than they were when the work started. Having recently had a terrible experience with a plumbing company that I had trusted, the professionalism, work quality, and politeness of Jason and Jeremiah was very refreshing. I have already referred them to another potential customer and would not hesitate to do so again.

I was very pleased with my experience. They showed up when expected and we're efficient in their work. I was embarrassed to find out my problem was a remote GFCI trip that was not anywhere close to my basement where the issue was, however they made me feel comfortable with my ignorance and even provided some advise on how to install a another GFCI outlet in a more logical location myself to save some money (not that they were more than willing to come back and install it, but they were just trying to save me some $). I was happy with the overall experience and will call them again if I ever have another electrical need and I highly recommend the company.

I owned the Duplex for 14 years thinking I would slowly have the building rewired in the first five years. At the end of the 14th year I hired Helton Electrical Co to finish the task.that certainly was not going to finish itself. The crew was energetic, respectful and interested in a job well done. The job advanced well and the crew was involved in the decision process as working on older properties has challenges. The work was completed in a timely fashion and a few areas far exceeded my expectations.

Our home suffered tornado damage last spring and Helton Electrical did an outstanding, highly professional job of preparing our home for a new service line (our old line, meter, and mast were all destroyed). Despite the heavy demand the storms put on their business they arrived and did the work for us when they said they would, and they worked with us while we arranged the payments from our insurance company. As far as I'm concerned they are one of the best contractors I've ever dealt with for any home repair.

This company is great! Professional and honest, pleasant trustworthy electricians. From the first phone call to when the job was completed we were impressed and pleased and plan to use them again!!!!

He did everything we asked for and he was very personable and friendly. He was willing to give us advice about what will be good for our electrical system and what he thinks about my overload. We appreciate his advice. He came two or three different times. The recent time when he came he installed two lights around our fireplace and repaired a couple of light switches or light sockets that was not working properly.

They were not terribly expensive but they did fantastic work. They really cared about all the little touches. When we put up light fixtures sometimes there were lines on the fixtures and what not, all those details and everything. We had two that were the same and they were put up, so that they looked the same from any angle. They had the lines of the light fixtures lined up. They caught all the little nuances and made sure that they were the same exact length. And they were placed exactly how we wanted them to, they took their time so that we could see them at different heights because they were on chains and different heights really did make a difference. They wanted to make sure even more then we did really, we did not realize the difference that an inter-two could make. They were very great with that and picking up everything that was left, like those extra cord and the extra copper wire, they bundled it all up in neat little packages and gave them to us. They looked chained incase we have use for it. Everything was cleaned afterwards, there was no sign that they had been there and done work. It was just very neat and great. In terms of price, it was great. They were not one of the cheapest. Generally, we do not go with the cheapest because you get what you pay for. However, they were certainly not the most expensive either. In terms of responsiveness, it was fantastic. They were booked and the lady did not feel they were supposed to work a place on Friday afternoon and they said they could come into ours because they knew it would not take a long time. And we said it was fantastic. They were not looking to have an afternoon off but they were looking to serve the customer. Off course, they were paid, but they served the customer really well. It was so beautifully derived. They were not in a hurry to get out of here either, so it was great. I would definitely use their services again in the future. We were home owners.
