I had previously purchased Dale's "Planned Service Agreement" program for routine maintenance/inspection of both my gas furnace and my air conditioning systems. I called on Tuesday of this week to schedule the gas furnace inspection and they were able to set me up for Thursday afternoon after 2 p.m. On Thursday morning the scheduler called to see if the technician could come at noon as he was ahead of schedule for the day. Unfortunately, I couldn't accommodate that switch. However, the technician arrived promptly about 2:00 p.m., introduced himself, and went straight to work. The whole thing took less than an hour, including the technician explaining what he'd done, and answering a few questions I had. He was polite and patient. Fortunately, my unit is in good shape so no nasty repair surprises resulted from the inspection. I have appreciated Dale's services thus far and will continue to use this company.

Tech arrived on time. Weather was very cold that day, below freezing. The tech does not take long at all. When complete, he comes in the house to let me know that it is too cold to do part of the "cleaning" because it is too cold. It was very cold that day so I agreed that on a warmer day, Dales would complete this part if the service. Im expecting to pay the $119 as usual and discussed over the phone for this service. I receive a bill for $268. I asked why and I was told that capacitors needed to be replaced so he went ahead and completed these needed repairs without asking my permission. I felt I could not ask his to remove the repairs that he completed, so I paid. I contact Dales via the comment card that they leave behind stating how upset I was and also asking them to please complete the "cleaning" so I would get what I paid for. I find out later from anoter HVAC specialist that the capacitor did not NEED to be replaced if my heat was working, which it was. Also, they still have not returned for the inital "cleaning" which I guess is bogus anyways. I attempted to cancel my check, but was too late. I did not have an extra $150 to give to a scam at Christmas time. I have used this company for a long time, but things have changed obviously.
Description of Work: Dales came out for a check up. Preventive maintenance if you will. A service that we usually have done before winter and summer.

Received a call about 45 minutes prior to scheduled time to verify that we still wanted to keep the appointment. Was told who the tech would be and that he would be on his way shortly. Tech Dan arrived promptly at the appointed hour. He explained what he was going to do and how he would proceed (outside first, attic next, inside last) and went right to work. He was very pleasant and answered the few questions I had. He not only installed the programmable thermostat but did the initial programming as well. Please note that the "cost of service" includes our purchase of Dale's "planned service agreement." All-in-all, a good experience.
Description of Work: Semi-annual inspection & Service, installed float valve, added programmable thermostat.

We called and scheduled an appt. to replace our old unit. The price was good, and the service prompt, friendly and professional with attention paid to detail. They started in the morning and finished early afternoon. Excellent job and i will not hesitate to use them again.

I was very impressed with the level of service we received. On the hottest weekend of the year, my air conditioning went out. I called Dale's Heat & Air, using the recommendations on Angie's List. Within the hour Caleb, Dale's Service Tech, was in the driveway. He figured out what was wrong in the first 5-10 minutes and had it fixed 10 minutes later. Caleb was friendly and professional and I was happy to see him. I was totally satisfied and appreciative of the service we received from Dale's and would not hesitate to recommend them. Thank you Caleb!

It was okay. Our A/C wasn’t working and the tech spent 30 minutes looking at the A/C. He found the condenser was leaking. They were recommending a whole new unit.

The staff was friendly and helpful with scheduling. They were out the next day to make repairs so we only went one evening without air. The installer arrived when expected and was very helpful, friendly and professional. He showed a lot of knowledge in his field and made suggestions to assist us in the future with our air unit.

My experience with them was okay. They were good. They came on time. It was a younger guy that came. He listened to his headset the whole time which was good I guess. They did their work well. They didn’t do anything bad or anything spectacular. I normally use another company but I used them just because they had that special.

Tanner was very professional and went the extra mile by caulking a hole in the back of my thermostat and figuring out a way to brace a some sagging PVC pipe. He was quick and efficient and very nice. This is the third time I have used Dale's Heat and Air and I have always been very pleased. They do a great job and are very trustworthy.

The initial consultation and install both went perfectly. We've been using the system for almost a year, and so far it's worked very well. Our electric bill has significantly dropped which is an added bonus. They recently (proactively) came out and checked up on the system, and the tech was thorough and explained everything he did. Every time I've called the office, everyone I've talked to has been very pleasant and helpful, too.

Once we joined Angie's list, my wife and I looked on it for a local company to perform maintenance service on our home air-conditioning system. Dale's heating and air conditioning in our community of Ooltewah, Tennessee had very good recommendations, so we invited them to service our a/c system for the summer. The technician servicing our unit reported finding a small leak that had seriously corroded the inside of the in-house unit. At our request, Dale's technician Chris Coleman came to our house and surveyed the situation. He then gave us a bid on the cost of a new Carrier unit, the reworking of the intake duct, an upgrade on attic insullation plus an upgrade on our attic insulation. . The contract was signed by us and Mr. Coleman who then oversaw the entire operation from beginning to end. The two men who did the actual installation were skilled prompt, courteous, and greatly sensitive not to disrupt the flow of family life while they work. Each time anyone from Dale's came into my home they put on shoe covers and the workers cleaned up as they workef to keep the dust at a minimum. First, they installed a split type air conditioner in the sunroom, then reworked intake ducts to enhance the airflow, and thirdly they remove the old unit and replaced it with an all new carrier equipment. Work started on Monday and was concluded at the end of the day on Tuesday. The following Monday morning the two man installation crew from "Energy miser", a contract company use my Dale's, arrived and began their work of putting up the wall insulation followed by the blowing in of insulation. They worked through the garage and did not enter the house. Work was completed by 5 PM and cleanup was exceptional. Chris Coleman was easy to contact by cell phone and promply answered any questions. He also worked with us to make sure that all the paperwork was filled out correctly so that we might qualify for TVA rebates through our local electric power board.YP
Description of Work: (1) Replacement of entire air-conditioning unit (inside and outside) and installed new Carrier unit. (2) Installation of a separate split type unit for the sunroom (the Mitsubishi electric "Mr. Slim" unit) (3) Reworkd air conditioning return air duct to make it large enough to handle the airflow. (4) Upgraded the attic insulation to code and added knee wall insulation.

I got four estimates, and I was most impressed that only a couple of bidders, including Dale's, mentioned that my return was too small and needed to be enlarged. The Dale's estimator also found that my vent pipe was corroded through and showed me pictures on his phone. He came in with a price within a couple hundred dollars of the others. The two service men arrived came at the appointed time and finished the work in one day. I have been extremely satisfied with the performance of the furnace during this cold winter.

I purchased the service as a deal but then found out Dale's did not provide duct cleaning service which is what I needed. Angie's List credited my account.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were several hundred dollars more than my initial estimate. The guy that came out was very friendly and very nice. It wasn't completely broken, it would work sometimes which was the issue but he took the motor part out and didn't put it back together. When the initial people came back to repair it, he asked what happened and put it back because he had come out so he knew exactly what was wrong. He said whoever looked at it had unhooked all kind of wiring and everything in it so I was very upset about that. The lady had sent me a coupon. They were wonderful, they were courteous and everything on the phone. I can't complain about the service part. I can only complain about what he did when he came, when he took my unit apart and didn't put it back together and just kind of left things undone. I probably would have considered them had the price not been so overwhelming but I was very frustrated when he left the unit just kind of undone because at that point, I couldn't use it at all. I started to call him and tell him but it needed to be repaired so I guess it didn't matter. It was not put back together but it's just the principle that it wasn't.
Description of Work: I had an estimate and a second opinion from Dale's Heating & Air Inc. for air conditioning repair services. He took the unit apart and didn't put it back.

They were unable to fix the unit very easily. I ended up purchasing a new unit through them and having new duct work done. They did a fabulous job. They are an awesome company to work with. When the new unit had a problem they came back multiple times until it was working properly. They always arrived as scheduled and did what they were supposed to do.

I called them because they had an Angie's offer and all our smoke alarms needed replacing. The serviceman went to Ace with my husband to get some of the detectors and then returned to install the last one the next week. I would definitely use this company again.

The service worked out alright. They came out within a day or two of me calling. They solved it and went on their way. It turned out it was something else, and we were actually able to cover it with warranty. There were no additional charges to the big deal. The problem was a minor detail that he ended up overlooking, but he troubleshot it to the best of his capabilities. So, it worked out very well. He did give me good feedback and all that, but he did not quite find what the actual problem was.

Response was quick and efficient. We requested a service call on Friday (through Angie's List) and an appointment was set for Tuesday. Inspection was completed with problems identified. Representative identified that the existing unit was under warranty even though they had no history with the unit. We proceeded with recommended service which was completed Thursday. Representative was knowledgeable of overall airflow requirements in the house and made additional recommendations to improve air flow and overall unit efficiency. We are not moving forward with additional work at this time.

The technician inspected the two heat pumps and then he sat down with my husband and me to go over his findings. He was very patient and spent a considerable amount of time giving us the information. He made several recommendations. He told us he would have his secretary call us about some parts, but to date we have not heard from her.
