treeSAVVY Professional Arborists/ OUT ON A LIMB

After meeting with several other tree cutting companies, we decided on treeSAVVY. Mike and his team are one of the best service providers that we have ever worked with. This was our first time getting trees cut down and we were extremely nervous especially with our pine tree. Our pine tree was much taller than our house and if it fell, it would have hit our house or the neighbors. Mike was able to ease our worries and was always available to answer our questions. I would recommend them in a heart beat to anyone that needed a tree cut down or pruned. We are planning to cut down some more trees in our backyard in the next year or two and will hire them again.

I had 3 out of control trees (cedar, pine). One growing too close to the house with branches on the roof and entangled in the power/service lines. The other two along the street also involved in lines. I didn't want them trimmed, I wanted them removed. I was concerned about a tree being cut down growing so close to the house, the a/c unit and the neighbor's fence. I called for an estimate, on Monday or Tuesday (really cannot remember) by Thursday afternoon my trees were gone. Mike was great! House intact, neighbor's fence intact, nothing left behind for me to clean up..... Awesome! Couldn't be happier.

We have recently purchased a home and the trees were in need of some attention. Some of the trees required more work than others but we knew we did not want any drastic tree topping or other extreme cutting. My husband and I met with owner Mike York, who actually came out on a Sunday to accommodate our schedule. We felt confident after we talked with Mike that his approach was compatible with our goal, which was to enhance the trees and trim them in a way that would maximize their health. This entailed cutting out dead limbs, thinning out branches and shaping the trees away from the house. Mike and his crew were on time, professional and worked efficiently. All the debris (considerable) was completely removed. For all the limbs on the ground, our trees did not look "cut"...they are wonderfully shaped so that, even without leaves, our trees look beautiful! I would not hesitate to recommend treeSAVVY. We are very pleased with Mike's work, we appreciate his skill (and that of his crew) and look forward to having him continue to care for our trees in the future.

I interviewed three highly rated compaines on Angie's list. All three were professional, punctual and knowledgeable. Mike York with Tree Savvy spent the most time with me and his price quotes were less expensive than the other two companies. Ultimately the decision was made on price as we had a strict budget to work with. Mike York and his team were excellent. He worked with me on the start-date and kept in communication with me as the day approached. We watched the weather and stuck with our original date. I do recommend having a few open days to have the work done as the weather may dictate when the actual work can happen. The day before the work was to start, Mike and his team came by the day before to lay down large track of plywood sheets from my driveway to the largest tree to avoid trenching my yard with their equipment. On the day of the job, they arrived on time and we went over the job list in detail one more time. His team was professional and took their work seriously. I added on two more items to the list when they were there and Mike gave me very reasonable quotes to handle both. It was great that he was flexible. His team finished the job on time and cleaned up the site to my satisfaction. I will use Tree Savvy again without a doubt.

They were excellent and able to climb these massive trees. They cleaned everything up and acted professionally.

I contacted Mike at Tree Savvy after finding a deal on AL. I had spoken w/ or had had 3 other estimates by the time I found Mike. He was very easy to talk to, never trying to speak over my head. We scheduled a time for him to come and look at my trees, which are all large old trees in an old Madison neighborhood. My desire was to save all the trees and make them safe and clean around my roof and gutters. Mike enjoys what he does, is very knowledgeable and was very patient with all of my questions...I ask a lot. Once I decided that I liked what Mike and I had talked about we scheduled a time for him to get the job done. He called when he was on his way. Him and his crew were on time. I was not home for most of the job but came home right as they were finishing. They did everything that we had spoken about (a month prior) and actually a little more. I was stunned at how clean and neat they left my yard after all of the work that was done. What they did has made a huge improvement in the look of my home and yard. I would recommend Tree Savvy to anyone. Punctual, communicative, professional and clean. Everything that you can hope for when hiring out work at your home.

They did a really nice job. Cutting huge trees and grinder on site. Great Clean up! Also their were 3 men and they were very professional .

Mike York and 2 others worked 8.5 hours to do the above. The results were superb and went beyond what had been done in the past given a similar scope.

First of all, Savvy responded right away to my request for service. We set a time, Mike came out, walked the property with me, and reviewed the work to be done , giving me an estimate of the cost.. He told me it would be 2-3 weeks before he could get bk, which was fine...there were no emergencies. He and two other men did the work today and did just a fabulous job. The grinding of two stumps is still to be done, but that is by a different crew and will completed in the next two days. Mike even responded to my request for removal of another of a couple other dead branches....without charging me! Would highly recommend!!!

I was extremely happy with the work they did and the fee was much less that what a comparable tree service charged me for similar services performed less well several years ago.

He didn't show up on the first scheduled appointment. A few days later, he called and said he could come on Tuesday, and I told him that I would call him to let him know if the date we were talking would work for me. I called and he didn't answer my call, so I left a message, and no return call from him for many days. I contacted him again, and scheduled another appointment. He couldn't come again, because his truck was broke. He said he is not sure how long it would take to fix the problem. A week has been gone since then, and no update from him. I am very tired waiting around, and just want to cancel the service and get a refund.

They removed and ground the stumps for couple of maple, cherry, and osage trees. They did a great job trimming other trees, it has made the yard get much more sunlight and looks much cleaner!

Quote was $400 more than other quotes, so no advantage using an unknown company.

The provider specializes in tree service and my needs are more brush/general lawn clean up so he is not able to perform the work I am in need of. I have contacted Angie's List in order to get a refund of the Big Deal purchase.

Mike was very prompt with giving an estimate and completing the job. We will definitely be using him again.

Mike is a very talented arborist. I was quite amazed how easily he climbed trees (I live on a hill and a cherry picker could not access them) 40- feet off the ground and removed dead limbs, trimmed and shaped the trees. He has great eqipment, is very professional with extensive knowledge and is competitively priced. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike York to anyone that needs tree work; I will continue to use him for all my future needs!

Being on a tight budget, I asked Mike if he would safely cut the branches and get them to the ground without damaging our new roof, and permit me to do the grunt work to cut them up and dispose of the debris, to keep my costs to a minimum. Mike was totally open to that, not to mention the best price that I found anywhere! (I even checked with a really back woods, unlicensed, uncertified trimmer, who was almost twice the cost of Mike AND Mike is an Arborist, is extremely knowledgable about plant life, and participated in only ethical and Eco-friendly practices.) Mike's business practices were first rate, he provided me with a written estimate in advance and a professional invoice upon completion. Mike showed-up when expected and kept his commitments. His crew was well equipped, extremely polite, and genuinely friendly. I enjoyed having them work on our property, they saved me a pile of cash, and I couldn't be happier with the results of their work! This company is a rising star!

I highly recommend Mike! I called Mike the morning after a major ice storm in which a tree fell and blocked out driveway. Not only did he promptly come to assist in this urgent clearing within an hour of calling, he also expertly used his chainsaw in a safe and efficient manner. This was a HUGE tree, and he made quick work of it in less than an hour. If you need something done right, call Mike.
