Everett Miller was wonderful. They did a great job. You could never even tell where the tree was before! There was no mess & they took the stump out too.

The owner came out to bid the job and was present with the crew at the start of the job. The crew came with a large truck equipped with a cherry picker and had an industrial-grade chipper in tow. The equipment was in very good condition. They trimmed the lower branches on the pine tree and put them across the driveway where the tree would fall to prevent pavement damage. The crew used the cherry picker to trim the maple which required working in close proximity to the house and over the deck. The willow was in the middle of the yard and the crew used lanyard equipment to scale the tree. All the debris was run through the chipper for removal except what I wanted to keep for firewood. The crew did a good job cleaning up afterwards, except they overlooked sweeping the deck of wood chips - no big deal, it took me a few minutes to do. Overall, the work was done on time, carefully and professionally. From my experience, this is a professional outfit which has well trained employees, good equipment, a professional approach and follow-through and I highly recommend them to others.

I called the provider, spoke to a representative, requested a quote for service, and nobody ever showed up.

Removed a tree, removed the stump. Had to take down fence to get equipment in place. Fence was replaced. Debris removed. I would gladly use them again.

It went very well. First, I tried to hire two other highly rated Angie's list tree service companies, without success. My first choice gave me an estimate the same day I called. It was left at my door. It was approximately in the high $400 range. When I called and asked for proof of insurance, which was listed on their Angie's ad page, they never responded. I was attempting to follow suggested procedure to verify insurance. The second failed effort was due to the company stalling me after a few calls by telling me they were very busy, but would call me back. They never did. Then I called Davey, and got a visit by Mr. Scott Johnson, who saw the proposed work, made some helpful suggestions, and said he would e-mail me an estimate, which he did. His e-mailing included proof of insurance, which I had forgotten to ask for. When he was at my house, he said my job was a small one, but would be no problem for the company's expert tree climbers. The work was on what I considered to be a problematic severe downhill slope, with the primary tree almost overhanging my house at its greatest height. He said the work would be done in 3 - 4 weeks, which was fine with me. I called once in early October and the receptionist assured me there was no problem with my job and that it would be done. On the day of service, Davey Company workers Joseph and Steve arrived, in professional looking company attire with the company truck and wood chipper. They were very professional, courteous, informative, and cooperative. Their work was efficient, very safely done, and they explained everything they were doing as it went on. Joseph was up the tree with almost no seeming effort using ropes and harnesses to hoist himself almost effortlessly. Steve monitored the ground activity, passed equipment up as necessary and kept things clear and safe at ground level, since by then small children from the neighborhood had come around to observe from a safe distance. All my questions were politely answered, and Joseph raked up the tiny tree refuse that Steve had left after moving the bigger, heavier pieces to the chipper. Joseph also assisted Steve in that effort after he returned to the ground. Notable was the leaf blowing by Steve, even of the autumn leaves from my backyard deck, and their proactive involvement in helping me decide how best to trim so that the remaining growth would appear balanced and pleasing to the observer. I was impressed with Davey Company from start to finish, and happy that they did not leave me with a OK to do the job, only to not call me, like the first two companies. I started trying to get the work done in mid-2012. It was obviously not a pressing issue, but I was glad to finally get Davey to commit and do exactly everthing they said they would, to a standard I found very pleasing.

After getting 3 estimates, I decided to use Davey. Of all the people who came out, their estimator was the only one who didn?t seem in a hurry and took the time to listen to my questions, concerns and give me a comprehensive idea of how the work would be done. He even advised me about trees that were not in the scope of this project, noting that although they have some potential problems, they don't need attention right away. The workers who came to remove the trees were pleasant and very professional. I was impressed with their skill, as one of the trees was extremely large, with the electrical service for my house and two other houses running through the branches. They were able to remove the tree without ever coming close to, or disturbing the wires. The other two trees came down flawlessly as well. The stumps were ground down on another visit and this was accomplished with the same amount of professionalism. If I had to fault Davey for anything, it is communication. After the initial contact and signing of the proposal, I didn?t hear from them for several weeks. I assumed we were waiting our turn on their schedule and were backed up because of the rainy summer, so wasn?t too concerned. However, I would have appreciated more notice than the evening before the work was to be done. I like to be home when work is being done at the house and fortunately I was able to stay home that day. They also just showed up to remove the stumps. If I had not been home when he arrived, he wouldn?t have been able to access the backyard and a return trip would have been necessary. I will definitely use Davey again. Although they are not cheapest, I felt it was worth the extra cost to have them do the complicated tree removal. I?ll know the next time, if their communication hasn?t improved, to initiate the contact to assure the project goes smoothly from my perspective.

The workers were all very professional and helpful. They cleaned up after themselves and were pleasant to deal with.

The work was good, he came first and made sure the employee that was doing the work came. After the employee came, he left and I paid the employee after checking with the owner first. Overall, good job, too high for me & I do not like to have to make calls to see when the work will be done. Just tell me when & if that doesn't work for both of us, then we will go from there.

There was nothing in particular that I liked or disliked. I called them and they called me back & let me know when they were going to be there. They came out and did a good job. They were on time and professional.

Very good experience. Several trees in the backyard needed trimming. Davey came out, trimmed what needed to be trimmed and cleaned up any mess they made.

The experience was good. They contacted us promptly, showed up when they were supposed to and seemed to be very knowledgeable. They were pleasant to work with and I would use them again. I found them on Angie's List.

This was our first experience with Davey Tree in Nashville. We had used their company before when we lived in Texas. The estimator came to our home on the day that I called and discussed with us what needed to be done to trim our trees. He was very friendly and knowledgable. Several days later the work was performed and the crew was polite, friendly, and most importantly, they made sure to contain their mess and when they left, my yard didn't have any tree-trimming remnants left behind. I called and set up an appointment to get an estimate on getting a tree removed. He showed up on time, was very friendly and helpful. The price he quoted seemed fair but I told him I was just getting estimates at that point and I would let him know. After not having much luck with getting estimates from some other companies, I called him back a few days later and made an appointment for him to come out later in the week (he said I did not have to be at home). On the designated day, when I arrived home, the tree was gone, the stump had been ground up and the dirt and grass had been put back in the ground so nice that you almost could not even tell a tree was there! The individual that did the work even sent me a thank you note afterwards. If I ever need any more trees removed, I'll be calling them again.

The service went well. They got the work done a head of schedule. They were courteous and got the job done on a Saturday. They gave a good estimate as well.

The team was great. They did exactly as I asked letting in much desired sunlight, but did so in a manner that was healthy for the trees. They also removed the debris, actually they cleaned up the entire yard, debris that wasn't even theirs. They were on time, professional and courteous. They came and got me one time to double-check something. Most people want more shade, I wanted more light, they just wanted to make sure it was want I really wanted. I lived in Minneapolis for 5 years, I had a similar company perform the work for many more trees and shrubs on my property. Davey was much less expensive for the high quality of work.

My experience with them was very good. They were able to get me scheduled quickly and took down this very large tree with no hassle whatsoever. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.

I would use them again in the future. They were careful of the vegetation surrounding the dead tree as they removed it. They did an excellent job on the clean up.
