Davey Tree came highly recommended by my trusted Realtor. I have a rental property in South Nashville and needed a large maple tree in my front yard fertilized and several large/tall dead branches removed. Set an appointment for them to come take a look. The guy arrived on time, seemed knowledgeable, worked out what needed to be done, said he'd send me a proposal that evening, and that I'd be on the schedule in a few weeks. All seemed professional and going well. He never reached back out. I followed up a few days later via email and no response either. Unfortunately, in today's world full of unreliable contractors, you often get ghosted, ignored, and forgotten about. This wasn't a HUGE job per se, but definitely several hundreds dollars or more worth of work. Too many companies like these out there that get away with poor service. I choose to have my business earned by a company who respects my time and needs.

Really good, really fair price! In Nashville, the guy even said that I would be wasting my money if I had them do anything, because of the type of tree it was. I have given their name & number out a million times. The power people came out and did their thing on a tree, there are 2 trees in front, after they came out, I had Davey come out and take a look to see if we needed any additional work to be done. He told me the tree close to the home was an evergreen and wouldn't grow much more, it didn't need any work at the time. So, for an evaluation & work, he was very honest. He wouldn't even charge me!

They did a great job. They came and did their service. They were prompt in taking care of the tree removal and replanting.

I paid them I believe $500. I wasn't very happy with their work. I wouldn't recommend them.

Their service, courteous and friendliness was just great. I would use them again in a heart beat.

Everitt, a saleperson with Davey Tree Company came out to my home to price a tree removal project. I informed him that we would be installing a fence and we discussed how this would make removal of the debris more difficult for Davey Tree crew members. He agreed that it was important to do the tree work BEFORE the fence was installed, and I advised him of the date that the fence was scheduled to go in. Everitt agreed to have the tree work completed before this, and there was an adequate 2-week window of time to do so. Davey missed at least 3 different appointments on different days where I stayed home to accommodate their access to my property. They stood me up... THREE times! Several weeks went by and the fence mentioned above was installed as scheduled. Everitt stopped returning my calls about the project. It became apparent to me that he didn't want his crew to do the work at the price quoted now that it would take more time/money to haul the tree debris around the fence. The problem is, now this would cost ME more money because of Davey's poor planning and scheduling. Meanwhile, Davey was "johnny-on-the-spot" for a secondary project that was discussed in our initial meeting. Weeks later, in the fall, they fertilized a couple of trees in the backyard and then sent an invoice for $150. This work was done without an appointment and without my permission, and several weeks after Everitt had gone silent regarding the primary tree project that Davey Tree Company had agreed to. This $150 invoice was an insult given how much of my time they had wasted in missed appointments and how much money they had just cost me - I had to get a new quote from another company and it had $500 more in haul-off cost because of the fence that had been installed since the initial quote.Everitt advised me NOT to pay the bill for the fertilization. Apparently that message never got to the organizations bookkeeper or management. Statements arrived. I called at least 4 times speaking with secretaries/gate-keepers, and leaving messages for management in efforts to resolve the billing dispute, and I received no return calls from business leadership. This entire process has been a complete time drain, and I strongly advise against using Davey Tree Company because of their disregard of the concept that a customer's time could also be valuable. Even though I tried on multiple occasions to resolve this with a manager, Davey Tree Company then forwards this $150 invoice to a collection company. I had similar conversations with the collections company yet no action is taken to remove the charge. Fast forward 1 year and Davey's collection company has reported this amount to the credit bureau! I now have to spend more time disputing this charge on my personal credit report. This actually appeared as "derogatory public record" on my credit report and dropped myTransUnion FICO score by 100 points. Imagine applying for a home loan on a place in Nashville, Brentwood, or Franklin and finding this! If I am going to have to spend more time disputing this Davey Tree Company bill with Trans Union, the Nashville area is going to learn how poor my experience with Davey Tree Company has been, and how incompetent their Nashville business management team is.

I called and left a message that I needed 2 Bradford Pear trees trimmed. I never got a call back from anyone.

Davey was a no call-no show for me on several occasions. At first they missed the estimate day when I worked from home. I forgave them then my name wasn't on their board and they forgot about me. They promised to come out 1-2 days later. The person providing estimate showed up 2 days later and demonstrated good knowledge of trees and I verbally agreed to $1050 charge ($900 for tree removal and $150 for stump grinding). Two emailed estimates never made it to me, so I just verbally agreed and was put on schedule. I then took off the day for the actual tree removal. I was home until noon and no one showed up. I was supposed to be first removal of the day! I called the office several times and no one answered because one receptionist was on vacation and they didn't have any back-up for phones. I was then called back between 12-1 and told I would be on the list next. No one showed. I called again and they said weather was moving in and they couldn't get to me. So now I managed to stay home from 7AM-5PM on a day off. Please note - there wasn't one drop of rain that day, just clouds rolling in. I gave up an entire day at my home. I called to complain and they promised to come out in the future, but didn't set a date. Again, I called every day on my vacation between July 24-31 so they this could be resolved when I returned to town. The receptionist said she wouldn't leave until I received a call back. No one ever called. So yesterday they are removing a tree in my neighborhood, on my exact street, 5 homes away, and I call again. No one calls me back. Wanted to give them one final chance to change me to a customer and tell them my plans for this review. I have never given a bad review in my life. So I call another company last night (Davis) and he said he actually apologize for what I have been through and he would be pleased to have my business and he plans to come to my home on his day off. Now THAT is outstanding customer service. I am really not interested in any canned reply how they will investigate this and do the right thing and get back with me because they had 15 opportunities to get back with me.

This business is highly professional. A certified arborist came to the house 2 weeks before the job was to be done, explained how the trimming would proceed, and made suggestions regarding which limbs to remove. On the day of the service, the arborist arrived 1/2 hour before the crew was to arrive, and explained again the process. The crew of 2 arrived on time, with a large chipper in tow. It was very obvious the crew member who climbed the tree was very good at his job! He was quick and efficient, and was very careful to avoid dropping limbs and debris onto our patio garden, which was directly under the tree. At the end of the job, they raked up all debris, and it was barely noticeable that they had been there at all. The entire process took just a little over 1 hour.

Overall the service was good. It will definitely help you if you can meet them when they come out to do the estimate so that you can point to exact things you want done. My busy schedule did not allow this-- I actually never met anyone in person, but they did a good job figuring out the ballpark of what needed to be done. Rob, for example, seems to be an expert in the field and I now have a lot of confidence in what he says to do because he is thorough and the end result was pretty spot on. I asked to keep some wood for firewood, which was cut neatly and stacked in a pile. If you burn a firepit or have a fireplace you may want to consider this as it reduces the labor cost a little. There was no other waste to be seen anywhere on the property. The grass didn't even look disturbed. And so, if not for a little sawdust here and there, it was pretty remarkable how neat everything was left. I definitely won't be able to afford to have this done every year, but if I did need work done again in the future I would probably consult these folks.

I did not receive any services as they never followed through with their scheduling.

Overall, they were an A. I would use them in the future.

They were wonderful. They provided several services for us and we were always very happy with them. They were very professional and very good about it. We've had work done cheaper but not as well.

They were very professional. They came and did the work as scheduled in an extremely friendly and professional way. One can see that they know what they are doing and that they love tress and their work. Rob Kraker was was very knowledgeable and helpful. There had been an earlier miscommunication but it was completely resolved and we are very satisfied customers and will definitely use them in the future. We recommend them highly!

Once I found Davey Company through Angie's List, I went online and requested a consultation. That was Sunday evening September 21st. I am assuming it was received on Monday the 22nd. I never received a response for 1 week and on the following Friday September 26 I called to follow up on the service. A Davey rep came out on the following Friday October 3rd at 8:00 am and said he would have the proposal to me later in the day. By the end of that day, I followed up with an email at 5:21pm in case I wrote down my email address incorrectly. I received an email on Saturday Oct 4th at 6:23 pm with the proposal and certificate of service. I reviewed and signed the proposal and returned it via email on Oct 6th @ 8:12 am to the representative and to another individual who appeared on the proposal. I immediately received a bounceback on the other individual's address. At 8:20 am I emailed the Davey rep informing him of the bounceback on the individual listed on the proposal and asked him to handle for scheduling. My next communication with the Davey rep was on Thursday October 9 when I called him at 3:35 pm because I had not yet heard from him and he informed me that he would call me back later that day once he returned to the office. Unfortunately I never received a phone call that day. The next time he called was October 14th @ 4:56 pm saying his crew could be there on the 15th. Earlier in the day on the 14th I had called another tree service who responded more promptly. While the disconnect in prompt communication may not be reflective of the tree service the company provides, it does make me question the quality.

Had a tree limb fall on house from a bad storm. They were SUPER prompt getting here for an estimate. And were able to get the work done very quickly for a reasonable price. Great friendly crew and I honestly couldn't have asked for better service! Will be a return customer for trim work in the future.

I had a tree that wasn't looking so good. They sent Everett out and he was very helpful and taught while he advised. He walked around our property with me and took a look at things, not just the problem tree. We don't need anything done right away, but when we do, probably in the off season, we will definitely have them out.

Very pleased with the service. We had a very large hackberry tree that was split in one of the joints at the base of the tree. This tree was very tall and situated to fall on the neighbor's home. Davey responded to our call the very next day and clearly explained what needed to be done and why. Because of the danger they expedited our service and the tree was removed within a week. By the time I got home from work I couldn't even tell they had been there other than the tree being removed. They did an expert job in all areas. If we ever have any other needs related to trees, this is the company I will call.

It went well and took from 09:00 to nearly 17:00, with a break for lunch and to empty the tree-chipping machine. The 3-person team clearly knew what it was doing and did it well. The workers were pleasant and polite. No time was wasted.

.The men arrived on the scheduled time and ready to work. They first cut back the Pear Tree branches that impeded access to our driveway for us, then got right to work on the Hack Berry Tree. They pruned a huge amount of branches to lighten the weight of the tree and then installed 3 cables to help keep the tree stable for years to come. Their efforts were a blessing for us. You would never know anything had been done if you were to see it for the first time, and the cables don't show. They even took care not to disturb a niche where a Mama Woodpecker was sitting on her nest with eggs. We are extremely pleased with the job, and I would like to mention Mr. Everett Miller who came to give me an estimate and explained how they could save the tree. He was very pleasant and had a nice demeanor when dealing with us.

It went very well. Did not end up selecting Davey based on price, however they certainly set the bar in my mind for professionalism and approach. I also appreciated the educational materials as well as the Certificate of Insurance that was sent along with the proposal. I would certainly consider them again for more extensive jobs, especially perhaps in a Commercial setting.

Project was great. Two skilled staff were here on time and completed the project by mid-afternoon. All pruned limbs were collected and put through their chipper on site leaving our yard clean. I have some remaining projects yet to complete and I will call upon Davey to assist with those projects as well.

We have used Davey Tree for all our tree care since we moved to our house six years ago. Everett is wonderful to work with, and the crew is great as well. Very professional, and cleaned up beautifully when finished. They took out a Silver Maple in our backyard. It was a bit of a difficult job because the tree was inside our fence and they couldn't get heavy equipment through our gate - but they have a big crane with which they were able to lift practically the entire tree up and over the fence. It was really something to behold - great entertainment, to see an entire tree being lifted over your fence! :) Davey has also done some "damage control" trimming of trees for us when our neighbor went a little crazy and trimmed off the back half of three trees that were close to her yard. They also installed a couple of Cryptomerias for us, moved a Leyland that was too big for me to move myself, and did some nice thinning of the canopy of an Oak in our front yard. The Oak especially seems so much healthier now, after the pruning. They do beautiful work. For what it's worth, I am a master gardener, so I'm very particular about my garden and what's growing in our yard. I have used them three or four times now, and have been very pleased with the outcome each time.
