i was impressed with Ed's low key manner - didn't try to recommend all kinds of unnecessary and expensive equipment. he simply laid out the options and gave me a little of his own experience in dealing with each scenario. ended up going with a more expensive unit for long-term value (we hope!), and fewer cleaning/maintenance requirements. he was good about going over the unit's functions and helping me understand how it works. and after a couple of weeks, the house is maintaining a wonderful humidity level...definitely recommend one for the dry, cold season.

In November 2011 we had an semi annual inspection of our downstairs heat and a/c unit. We were told that the heat part of it needed a repair that would cost around $500. Since the unit was the original one to the house and the house was built in 1996 we decided to check on the cost of replacing the unit. The company we had the maintenance agreement with only quoted us prices on their most expensive systems and it made me a little angry. We then called a couple of other company to get quotes. Kuhn's had the best price and best warranty. The installation went smoothly and the unit was replaced within a week of our decision to go with them. We have had one issue since, somehow dirt got in the unit and kept something from firing. Mr. Kuhn came out the same day and cleared the dirt.

I give Kuhn Air Conditioning 5 out of 5 stars. Ed was awesome! He came right out, found out what the problem was and fixed it immediately. Great professional service!!! While I debated whether to repair or replace my furnace, it went out completely. Mr Kuhn was very responsive at providing a quote for both the repair of the broken part or replacement of the furnace, with providing me loaner space heaters, and completing the work.

Mr. Kuhn was very helpful and professional, arriving on time and as promised and even coming out a second time to check our ductwork. The only reason we didn't use his service is because we were able to obtain what we considered a better unit in a brand he doesn't carry for a good price. I would readily recommend him to friends.

I attempted to use them, but I was not satisfied with them at all, so I did not use them. Somebody had already looked at the system and had told me what had to be done. I had him come out to see if I could get a competitive price from him. He looked at the system on his own and then charged me $65 for a visit, which was not what I needed. He told me his service wasn’t available around-the-clock. It wasn’t good, so I just got rid of him. The experience was very poor.

Kuhn worked with us to find an HVAC system that met our needs and our budget, he and his team arrived as planned an installed the new system in one day. Everything works well and the work was done with care and attention to detail. Mr. Kuhn was easy to work with and helpful. After dealing with several area companies that were neither, Mr. Kuhn's attentiveness and professionalism were appreciated. We'll be sticking with Kuhn for all our HVAC needs.

Kuhn was the most prompt serviceman I have ever encountered. He was on time just about to the second! This is perfect for me because I am often racing home from work or other appointments to meet a service provider. He was pleasant and professional, and he explained everything he did. I was very pleased and I will definitely use Kuhn again.

The service was excellent. They came out and did an estimate the same day I called. They were very prompt and efficient. We have even called them back to do another project for us. We are very pleased with them.

We found them through Angie's. We called Wednesday and setup an appointment For Thursday afternoon. Ed didn't know about the heating check before he got here and happily agreed to look at it, too. He said the failure was most likely due to a filter that we had changed out before he got here and suggested that instead of the 3 month filters we had been using, our system would benefit from cheaper filters changed once a month. He also suggested better insulation in the attic, that we would pay for an insulation upgrade in the first year with money saved on gas & electric. He was very happy and cordial. We will continue to use Kuhn and recommend them to anyone in the Nashville area.

Great service and reasonable price! Our air conditioner went out during the evening, and we woke to a hot and stuffy home . We called the next morning, and Mr. Kuhn came the same day. He repaired the unit and replaced the part. It was cheaper than the estimate he gave us! He was very courteous, honest, and upfront. I won't hesitate to call on him again. Such a rare treat to have a pleasurable experience with a repair call instead of the usual pain and headache of high prices and undependable repairmen. Mr. Kuhn was exemplary.

Mr. Kuhn was very professional, responsive, and punctual. I would have had no problem using his company to replace my HVAC unit except that I found a better price on a better unit from another highly rated and highly professional company. I would consider getting estimates from this company if my other HVAC unit needs to be replaced.

My HVAC system began showing signs of failure after eighteen years of essentially trouble free service. The first contractor arrived at my home, spent a few minutes inspecting the system, and gave me the bad news along with the pro's and con's of repairing a system of this age. I asked for and received a quote for a new system, paid the nominal service call fee, and advised them that I would be soliciting competitive bids. After receiving a second quote from another reputable contractor, I joined Angie's list and decided to call Mr. Kuhn based upon feedback on this site. Mr. Kuhn scheduled a visit and arrived promptly on Friday afternoon. He spent several minutes looking over the existing installation, offered some advice, answered many questions, and advised he would provide a quote in the next 24 hours. I received the quote on Saturday along with numerous options to consider. He provided some advice based on how long I anticipated living in the home along with things to consider regarding upfront cost and long term energy savings. My wife and I weighed our options and elected to use Mr. Kuhn's services. After exchanging emails and phone calls throughout the day Saturday, he scheduled our system replacement for Tuesday morning (Monday was Labor Day). Mr. Kuhn arrived ahead of schedule with his small crew and completed the replacement of my home's system without incident. The entire team was friendly and courteous to my family, and completed what I believe to be very clean and professional looking installation. There was one minor electrical issue with the system that required a replacement part from a supplier, and due to the time of day, I elected to wait until he could return the next morning to repair. Once again Mr. Kuhn arrived ahead of schedule, replaced the part, and my new central heating and air systems was working perfectly. We promptly paid him and he was on his way to his next client. If you are looking for a contractor that drives flashy service vehicles, advertises on the radio and television with a jingle, or sends a salesperson with a tie and briefcase to your home who tries to sell you on the merits of a multi-million dollar company that has been in business for decades, don't call Ed Kuhn. He runs a very lean operation and is the single point of contact for his customers. He relies of word of mouth for his business, and treats his customers accordingly. I appreciated that he provided a zero pressure approach to recommending a system, and in fact provided me a quote that was thousands below what his competitors offered. What I found interesting is that he genuinely seemed to want to steer me in the direction of spending less on the total system. That was welcome advise for a family of five (soon to be six), and I believe that Mr. Kuhn was aware of that. Spending many thousands of dollars on a new HVAC system was not the highlight of the season, but in the end I am really happy to have found Mr. Kuhn and happy with my new system. If ever my family, neighbors, friends and coworkers are in need of HVAC services, I will not hesitate to recommend Kuhn Air Conditioning.

The owner, Ed Kuhn came out and diagnosed my AC problem. I phoned him on Saturday afternoon and he was here within 2 hours. Very prompt, very professional, and expertise was exceptional. He charged $65 for the service call to get my 17 year old Rheem running, but condensor was going bad. He gave me a price to install a new unit. He also performed pressure tests in the house to verify the size of replacement unit. All this for $65 (two trips). He said he would credit back the $65 if we hired him to replace the old unit. We hired him within 2 weeks, Ed showed up with his crew and they did a fantastic job. His price was about $500 less than a Brentwood competitor, workmanship outstanding, they cleaned up everything when finished, etc. Ed is my new HVAC guy and his stickers are on my thermostat.

I called and spoke with Ed Kuhn initially. He gave me an approximate time he could arrive. Ed called about 20 minutes before he would be at my home, as he said he would. He arrived within that time and systematically inspected and diagnosed the problem. After explaining the needed repair, he hooked up a freon tank to his gauges and added 1.5 pounds of freon to the outside unit. He then unhooked his equipment, replaced 2 caps on the tubes where the freon was added, and met me inside with his invoice. I didn't have to remind him of the Angie's list discount he was offering. He deducted the amount from the bill. I paid him by check and he left a much cooler home.

Our A/C unit was not running (amid very hot conditions) and I contacted Ed based on his high marks on Angie's List at about 6:55pm on Friday evening. Ed was able to diagnose what he believed to be the problem (i.e. a bad capacitor) over the phone and scheduled us for the next day. Ed arrived promptly and upon reviewing the unit, identified that the problem was as he had suspected. Upon replacing the capacitor, the unit began to run properly again. Ed also provided some helpful suggestions as to things that we can do go get the maximum efficiency from our HVAC unit. We plan on using Ed for our annual service checkups and have already been in contact with him regarding another job.

Horrible! I am a first home buyer & a single woman - my friend recommended i joined Angies list because i wanted to find professional, honest contractors who treat me with some level of respect. When Ed turned up (promptly at 9.30am) i started talking about what we discussed on the phone - he interrupted me to say 'i thought i was just closing off a vent & if you think im doing anything else today youre wrong' (he charges $95 flat rate 1st time). I was kind of shocked at the rude abruptness of his manner (i work in the banquet industry & would never treat even a rude customer this way). I took a moment & went on to say that i wasnt expecting him to do anything today, just help with an overall opinion on what needs to be done to make my a/c more efficient - again he said he thought he was just closing off a vent. I had the feeling he didnt want to do business with me - i am a kind & honest person and my money is as good as anyone's, i honestly feel he thought the job wouldnt be worth enough money to him. It was a horrible way to start a saturday & a waste of a week waiting for him to arrive - i have tenants moving downstairs in a week and i lost a week waiting for this rude man to arrive and then in 5 minutes treat me so dismissively. i told him it seemed as if he didnt want to help me & he said 'its best we part company then.' and that was it. Maybe he was having a bad day? I have them too! its no excuse to be rude to your customers.

Came out and inspected under the house because we were concerned that the unit had damage and was leaking cool air under the house and not functioning correctly. Was very detailed in his inspection under the house. Very happy! No damage, and no work needed.

He knows what he is doing. He is very thoughtful. We had a very difficult time finding anybody who is willing to try to do it because our house is made of some standard procedures, which involved drilling holes in the ground floor, so the installation process had to be done in some other way and he came in and examined the house and he was able to install it in a different way. He was very clever. I would definitely use him again in the future too.

Our air conditioner quit working in the summer heat, and I chose Kuhn Air Conditioning from the List because of his positive reports, with mostly A's in the price category. He was too busy to come out immediately, but gave me advice over the phone to ensure that I didn't wreck the unit by trying to run it. He called first to confirm his visit, arrived on time, was very friendly and professional, went right to work, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the part. Total bill: $120. Whew!!! My wife and I went out to eat that evening to celebrate the successful repair and very reasonable price. The unit now works fine. He gave me some additional advice on the type of filter I should be using to prolong the life of the unit. He also offered suggestions that I could do myself to help balance the air conditioning in an upper room. I was so grateful for his quick and efficient work that I forgot that he has a $20 coupon on the List. When he totaled the bill he gave me credit for the coupon, even though I didn't have it. I've always feared air conditioning work, because I don't know much about it, and have been fearful of getting "ripped off". However, having found Mr. Kuhn, I feel that I've found a trusted and competent person to carry out any future heating and air conditioning work. I feel that this positive experience is the essence of what Angie's List is all about!

Mr. Khun quickly diagnosed problem to a burned out control board. He was able to procure a new part and get our ac back up and running in about an hour. This is the second time I've used Mr. Khun. He is very professional and both times his pricing seemed very reasonable.
