As always, Kuhn Air Conditioning provided excellent service. They are honest and professional. I have recommended to several of my friends who have had the same experience.

We've used Kuhn several times now for our HVAC needs and they are always friendly and priced fair. They act fast for emergencies, too! Keep up the good work!

AC went out Monday evening called Kuhn on Tuesday and had someone to the house by 1. He was thorough and found the issue quickly. He even took the time to check our other unit to ensure we were all good to go. He went above and beyond and was very transparent with what he found and how to fix. I will definitely go back to Kuhn for all HVAC needs.

Tim showed up and got right to work after a brief introduction. He was very friendly and helpful and was very knowledgeable. Once he found the problem he gave me several options I could pick from. The price of the repair was ultimately the same, the only differences was the options for some maintenance on the unit while he had it opened up, and the price differences on the warranty. They also give veteran discounts which was very nice. I will definitely use them again should I need HVAC help.

No one wants to call for AC service, but if you have to, I strongly endorse Ed Kuhn. His techs are top notch and his prices are fair. They really do a great job and make sure you're happy before they leave. Tim figured out my problem in five minutes and didn't charge me for the service call. They didn't have to do that -- I asked for a service call to be dispatched and I would have paid happily, but they value customer satisfaction more than any other trade company I've ever worked with.

Went very well - Teams arrived on schedule and had both HVAC systems (upstairs/downstairs, inside and outside) replaced and online in about 6 hours! Everyone was professional, courteous, and focused. Due to the main gas supply having to be temporarily shut off, the crew chief made certain that our gas logs and gas water heater pilot lights were re-lit and functioning properly before leaving. The new units are working well and we are looking forward to the SEER savings on our energy bills. There are good reasons Kuhn AC has so many high ratings, and Ed Kuhn demonstrated all of them to me: prompt response and assessment, a detailed comprehensive quote (with four options in my case), quick installation (a day earlier than he estimated), and friendly professionalism. He was generous with his knowledge and recommendations. And all this without ever meeting face-to-face — not his fault; I’m an out-of-state landlord. So trust was certainly important. He earned plenty. I give Kuhn AC “two thumbs up,” both of mine.

Ed Kuhn is fantastic! I called him on short notice based on the glowing reviews here. He came the next day and fixed us up. I have 20 year old units that he was able to repair inexpensively without replacing. Large HVAC companies normally say there's nothing they can do and suggest replacing the unit. Ed does not operate that way. Thank you for being honest!

Well, the owner got angry with me and left me a message cancelling the appointment altogether, because he simply can't get over with the fact that he overcharged me with a $65 diagnosis fee for a Nov 2017 AC/heater repair. He was in and out in less than 10 minutes, including both the "diagnosis" and the actual repair of a faulty capacitor. I confronted him afterwards about the necessity of charging me this $65 diagnosis fee because others were more than happy to waive it since I am already paying for a hefty repair for a one-stop service call. The capacitor itself costs $5 to $10 at most. So paying $125 or so seemed more than fair for this particular repair. Anyone in my situation would have resented being taken advantage of when AC/heater stopped working altogether when AC/Heater is needed the most. Anyway, Ed personally refunded me the overcharge after multiple rounds of email. AND I PERSONALLY WANTED VERY MUCH TO DELETE THE NEGATIVE REVIEW FOR HIS KINDNESS AFTERWARDS. But there was NO WAY for me to delete it. I tried to call Angie's List MULTIPLE times only to find out that their customer service is only for gold (read PAYING) members, and not of other non-paying members. Long story short. Ed's company contacted me by phone this past Monday on 4/30/2018 proactively to service my units. I thought it would be a great opportunity to have them come out and price the replacement AC units so I can decide whether to replace my 15 year old AC units. When ED found out the price quote request actually came from me, instead of being appreciative of having a second chance, he voluntarily brought up the old grudges against me, saying effectively that if I ain't happy about the price with him in the first place, he sees no point even trying to do any business with me now or ever and we might be better off parting our ways for good. I am not happy with THAT ATTITUDE. If I can overlook the pricing disagreement happened 6 months ago, I don't understand why he would bring it up again for a totally different request. If he is entitled to doing business the way he sees fit, why ain't I entitled to have my own opinion about fair pricing for equal type of job AGAINST OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS IN THE SAME AREA? If he is not comfortable to let customers even to have that opportunity, why even bother to do business with Angie's List where I found him in the first place, and where it's the mission of Angie's List to let consumers do the comparative shopping and do that in the comfort of one's own home at one's own leisure. In conclusion, while I do think Ed's service is valuable and probably is better than average HVAC guy, his attitude towards those with different opinion than himself on pricing can be far less charming. For people who are looking to spend $5K to $10K or more on brand new HVAC units, quality work and nice attitude go hand in hand. Who would want to go home and tell wife, kids and friends saying: oh, I just got this great new AC units at an okay price, but the guy I bought it from is 25% jerk?

In June 2017 we hired Kuhn to inspect two heat pumps on a recently purchased home. The technician said both units were in order and all they required was R410 freon and a tuneup. During an unseasonably warm stretch in February 2018 we noticed no conditioned air was coming out of our vents upstairs after our AC was turned on. After two inspections by different companies each technician discovered that one heat pump was a "frankenstein" heat pump. It had mismatched parts from different systems. This includes the compressor, which was actually designed for R22 freon rather than R410. The Kuhn technician apparently used the wrong type of freon. The introduction of incorrect freon added instability to the unit, which has now completely failed. We now need to replace the entire heat pump. We are not blaming the "frankenstein" nature of the mismatched parts on Kuhn, of course. However, it seems apparent to us after getting two additional opinions that the mismatched nature of the unit was obvious, and the freon used was incorrect, my wife and I believe our story must be added to Kuhn's history on Angie's list. We payed for an inspection that appears to have not caught obvious problems in our system, and a mistake by a Kuhn technician seems to have compounded the issue. We would not use Kuhn again or recommend them.

The tech from Kuhn showed up first and fixed the problem within 5 minutes. But we thinking charging $190 (including the service call) to replace 1 broken capacitor was too high. Most capacitor costs less than $10 online.

Ed came out and looked at the entire house and HVAC system. He suggested replacing the old unit, closing off all the downstairs registers to direct airflow upstairs only, and installing 2 mini-splits to heat and cool the two main downstairs rooms. His price was significantly less than the competitions', he spent lots of time figuring out the best, least obtrusive way to connect the mini-splits to the breaker box, his crew was thoroughly professional, and Ed took the time to address all my questions and concerns.

He is great. I have used him several times, he is great. Yes, I would use him again.

Mr Kuhn said it compromised the entire system so he replaced it at his expense. The most honest man in the world.

Kahn Checked the Freon charge and determined it did not need charging, continued to look for the problem and checked the motor capacitor and found it to be faulty, replaced the faulty capacitor and stayed around long enough to make sure the unit was cooling effectively. Kahn called a couple days later to check that the unit was operating to my satisfaction.

I found Kuhn on Angie's List and called this morning. Ed showed up by 11 and was done by 12:30. Turned out to be a relatively minor repair. The house is already cool again. Big thanks to Ed for coming out so quickly and getting it taken care of for us!

So responsive. They reviewed the inspection report and were incredibly responsive. Heard from both father and son. In the end, no work was even needed! Their feedback helped to have a good discussion with the Buyer. Really wonderful dealing with them!

Ed is very professional, knowledgeable and informative. Thank you to Ed for getting my concerns taken care of within a short period of time. I really appreciate his work and recommend him to anyone who lives in middle TN. He also offered me tips on how to make my ac work better.

A little difficulty in scheduling, but but there was no emergency, and no problems with the actual inspection.

I called on a Saturday and Ed was able to come out (I mention this because most other reputable businesses I could find were not available on Saturday). He said he would be at my home in about an hour and a half and actually got here early. I walked him through what I had checked and he then went down into our crawl space under the house to figure out what was going on. It turned out that for whatever reason the breaker directly on the heater had been tripped. He evaluated any mechanic reasons for the problem, and ruled them out. He then spent about 15 minutes back in the house explaining different reasons that could cause extra stress on the system, which may have caused the breaker on the unit to trip. During this he walked through the house checking each register and verifying the heat was coming back and gave me some advice on a couple registers that I had partially obstructed. After he left he called me on my cell because he thought of some additional advice to minimize the stress to the system. Really went above and beyond what I had expected. Overall I can't speak highly enough about the service that was provided. Reading online I came across a lot of horror stories of other businesses up-charging customers, so I was relieved to find a locally owned business that was honest, friendly, professional and fair. My expectations were exceeded in every way.

He did a great job. He called me right away. He came out and explained everything to me. I was having allergy problems and he followed up and sent me information. There was no charge for that but he emailed me the information. He was great. His professionalism and attentiveness and he answered my questions without trying to sell me more things. He was here for between an hour and an hours and a half. Everything was cleaned up before he left.

I needed someone to look at my HVAC to see if my heat was fixable and I found Ed Kuhn on Angie's List. I called him and he came out immediately. Long story short my HVAC was over 23 years old and needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price I could live with and he gave me the earliest date available and his team came out and replaced my old one in such an AWESOME timely manner. They were so nice and professional. In addition, to all of this Mr. Kuhn was so nice that he offered to bring me an extra heater to keep warm until his team could get back out to replace my unit and was willing to drive all the way back to my side of town to deliver it to me. I just wish they worked on other appliances as well, but I do plan to use them sometime during the spring to replace my duct work under my house. This is a great team to choose for your home care needs.
