Installer Direct

Scott showed up about 30 minutes late, when called he was at the gym on Church St. and was running late. Guess it don't matter when people take off work to meet you at 8:00 AM and are trying to make it into the office. He took all the measurements and said he would try to get me the quote that afternoon but had to go out of town to North Carolina and would be press for time. He said he would get it to me Monday at the latest. It has been a month and he has not bothered to call, txt or email me. The tile will be finished Tuesday by a professional unlike Scott. This is my first and last experience with angieslist!!!

I selected this business from Angie's List based upon the many positive reviews. Scott came to my home with samples. My wife and I discussed with Scott options and selected carpeting. Scott ordered the carpet and installed it about 10 days later. The installation was top notch. The whole process was outstanding. I'm glad that I didn't bother checking other sources for carpeting.

Although responsive in responding to my call and coming to do the measure, he never provided the estimate nor responded to my request to provide same. Frankly, after reading a couple of his negative reviews on Angie's List, I think we made the right choice not to pursue him or his company. We decided to replace all of our carpet and it was a very big job but much happier with the firm we hired than we were with this fellow.

We were very pleased with the quality of the work and price quoted. We would recommend working with Scott and will use them again for future projects.

They obviously care. For me, they did everything I could have hoped for. - Came over and gave me a reasonable estimate. - Showed up when they said they would, called beforehand. - Took their time and installed the carpet carefully and professionally. Can't ask for much more than that ! :-) Rock on, guys.

Scott & Daniel were great. After a mix-up with the day they were to come to measure & show samples, we finally connected. We went over everything & I was thrilled when their initial quote came in under my budget for the project. After a few more conversations where I finally made my decision - he scheduled the job for the very next week. I sent him the deposit for the supplies & was thrilled there was no delay due to a backorder. They showed up right on time (between 8:30-9:00) ready to work. Got started immediately removing all the carpet and had it cleared and the debris swept up in no time. They worked tirelessly all day. Daniel and Scott left about 5:30 and 2 of his crew remained to finish the carpet. I wish I could remember their names, but they worked until about 9pm. The job went so smoothly, it was bound to have one "uh oh", but this one was mine, nothing they did. They located a spot in a downstairs bathroom where there has been water dripping behind the wall. So next step plumber. I would recommend Scott & Daniel for any job, but keep in mind they are busy hands on guys so be patient during pre-order phase. They were very kind to put up with my impatience.

Scott and his team did an excellent job for us. We had a disastrous tile job in our kitchen and bathrooms. We'd been putting off having it repaired, and then grout started breaking off in large chunks, making things dangerous for our baby and our puppy. We got a couple of quotes from Lowe's and Home Depot, and then my husband called Scott. Scott's installation price was quite a bit cheaper than the big box stores, so we scheduled an appointment with him to start the work first thing the next Monday. Scott showed up with his team on time as scheduled, which is a big deal since we often run into contractors who don't. He was professional, courteous, friendly, and thorough. A couple of weeks out from the work, we are very happy with the job he did. We had a couple of minor grout issues to fix after the fact, and he returned to correct those at no charge. Overall, we were very happy with the work and would definitely use Scott again for future jobs.

Everything went smoothly. Scott was professional and helpful in estimating and installation went great.

I called to get an estimate and Scott came to the house a few days later. There was a little mix up about what day we had scheduled for the estimate and he showed up one day early. But he graciously agreed to come back the next day since I was busy that morning. So he came out again the next day and took measurements. He also brought a lot of samples to consider, and I picked the higher quality grade with a vinyl finish to prevent scratches. It was $2.50 per square foot I think. He scheduled the installation for 5 days later in the month but said it might take less than that. He takes a deposit for the cost of materials (about $5000 for this job), and then you pay for labor after the work is completed. He and his workers (I think 5 of them) showed up about 8:30 the morning we scheduled to begin work, and they were done by 5:00 pm the next day. Labor ended up costing about $3000. The work included removing carpet and linoleum and painting Killz over a large nasty pet stain on a section of the plywood underneath. It also included moving furniture, new tack trim, and clean up. I was very impressed with the quality of the work they did. I'd use them again for sure.

FANTASTIC!!! Better than I ever dreamed it would be. My husband and I are delighted with their product, service and price. They were extremely polite & efficient. Outstanding work and business ethics which is sometimes hard to find these days! These people know how to work. Scott Craig provides an excellent and well trained crew. They don't waste time, they are neat, cleaning every day after they finish working on an area. Scott came out to our home, measured, showed us samples and tried to match exactly what we were looking for in appearance, quality and cost. He quoted the cost of the job and the amount of time he thought it would take and was right on the money. We have had carpet installed before and this company beats the competition by a long shot! We give them our highest recommendation for a job well done!

I am thoroughly impressed with their work. They built the recording booth from the ground up and it turned out even better than I pictured it would be, and the tile floors are perfect. They were punctual, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend them!

Quick and easy! Scott stopped by the day after contacting him to measure our stairs, then again a few days later with samples. He was very accommodating (even offering to meet me at my work when my schedule was crazy), and when we realized the carpet we'd selected was out of our price range, he found scrap carpet that was half the price and looks just as good. The installation was done while we were at work and it was so nice to come home to a finished job. Scott made things simple, he was easy to get in touch with and had very reasonable rates. I would definitely hire him for future needs.

In order to save on our energy bills, we decided to insulate the crawl space. We ordered the insulation from a local hardware store. Daniel and his crew were able to pick it up the next day saving us the hefty delivery charge! :) While the guys were down there, they discovered a leak that would have otherwise been undetected! Daniel made phone calls and was able to ascertain where the problem was coming from that same day with a plumber! Daniel Goodson and his guys were professional and got the job done in one day. We are very happy with Installer Direct and will call them again if the need arises.

First, just so you have an idea of who I am and why you should trust this review. I am a Critical care nurse and my husband is a Civil Engineer, we have a small son who is 17 months old and are a hard working, loving, laid back couple. We are professional and work hard for our money...and we wasted it the day we hired Installer Direct!! We are currently trying to update and sell our current home so we can build our dream home here in Nashville. Normally, I would not post such a review....but I felt the need to warn other people. I only wish I would have taken more pictures to prove the mess Scott Craig and Daniel Goodson (the owners) left our house. So I will start from the beginning. Installer Direct was recommended to us. My husband and I had already interviewed about 5 tile guys and already made a decision, but since I received such a high recommendation and they were "Angie List Preferred" and guaranteed the work...I thought, why not? It only made since to hire Scott and Daniel/ Installer Direct. My first conversation with Scott went great!! I do not know tile...and won't pretend that I do. But Scott was patient, professional, answered all my questions. Scott and Daniel came to my house to give me a quote and look at all the work. I also needed to know how much tile to buy and let them know that we had about 2 months before we wanted to sell...so made sure they could work in to our timeline. Scott emailed me the quotes/ invoices for cost... and so we hired them. Just note...they were not the cheapest and not the most expensive quote but somewhere in between from the other tile installers. We lined up the dates they were going to start work. We were informed it would be 3-5 days of work, how much tile to purchase for each area, that we would not be left without a bathroom, that we would have to be out of the kitchen for 1 day (so the tile could set), and a general idea of what to expect. So, here I am thinking....Fantastic. I have lined up the painter, the plumber, the granite people, and lastly the tile people! Everything seemed good to go! DAY 1: Installer Direct informed me the night before (Tuesday), that they would be at my house at 8:30am. So I knew I'd have to show them the tile placement. Around 9am, I received a text saying they were "running behind" and would be there later. They should up late around 11:30. Later we went to pick my son up, out to eat for dinner, and returned home around 6:15 (my son's bedtime is 6:30). I was impressed with all the demo work they had done. As I laid my son down to sleep they started using a very loud staple gun in the kitchen...so I ask them nicely to wrap up and head out. They did not clean up that night....tools were in every room of our house. The only safe place for my son was his bedroom. But we dealt with that...because they left so late. DAY 2: The next morning they informed me they would be there around 8:30, instead 3 strange men show up to my door. So once I clarify they work for Scott...I let them and they start. So I happened to be working from home...I had to tell four different people what tile went where...what if I had not been here?? Still, even with the little frustrations, I did not mind because the work seemed to be going good. They left that day around 5:30 as I was getting home with my son. They informed me the master Ba shower was out and we could not walk on the guest Ba floor until tomorrow. So no bath for my son?...second night in a row. Daniel did lay down a piece of board and told us to be careful so we could give our son a bath. Meanwhile, the rest of the house is still a walking hazard to my son. Tools, equipment left out, not to mention the completely filthy (cups from employees, food wrappers,etc). So my husband and I made it on to the couch and settled in the mess...thinking it would be over soon. Day 3 on a Friday: The nightmare really starts! 8:30 sharp, the 3 strange (non-English speaking) men show up to my door... no team member from Installer Direct though. But I had to leave for work and they started working. With no guidance from a manager the workers did as they were told and "laid tile". However, there was no thought process for what all needed completed before they started. NO TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS!! So, I arrive home around lunch as I was receiving a phone call from an employee (not either of the owners...who I hired) to inform me that the tile guys could not find the grout. Well, that was because of a misunderstanding that I own...I did not realize I had to provided that because I thought I made it very clear that I knew nothing about tile and only wanted to buy the tile....however, I own that misunderstanding. So, since it is 13:30 and there is not grout and no true Installer Direct employee or manager on site....the owner had to leave a job and go by grout to bring to the workers to finish the job. But then he leaves again! It was not until around 1400 that an Installer Direct person showed up. There was no guidance from the owners...just orders!! So, now at 5:30pm the workers are packing up their tools and my house is a disaster zone. Equipment left out, dirt everywhere, trash (like employee cups/wrappers/cigarette buds all over, porches covered in mud, paint scrapped off my freshly painted/paid for decks, dirt on the floors (not just tile dust....but muddy foot prints, chucks of debris). It was absolutely ridiculous!! After working, and going out to eat for 3 nights (because we were unable to use the kitchen) we come home and have to put our son to bed (still can't let him down anywhere but his bedroom) and have to clean the floors and put things back where they go for 2 hours! That was just functional things...like sweeping, wiping cabinets/countertops, cleaning the bathroom vanity (which they left covered in trash and even put our toilet bowl cleaner up there). This was so unprofessional! I should hire someone/anyone and then have to clean up after they leave. So Friday night, I called the owner Scott (with my husband listen in) and spoke to him about my frustrations. At first he was very apologetic for the mess, blamed his young/unprofessional staff for the mistake. So Saturday morning, I wake up and my husband takes my son while I clean the house for about 3 hours. Just to get it safe for a small child to walk on, fall on, play on!! Over the weekend, as the frustrations grew and my husband (whom never gets upset) knew they had cost us time and money with the damage and the cleaning. He just wanted it to be done and them to be gone! DAY 4/FINAL: They crew (actually his employees and the owners) arrive around 8:45 to start. I could tell by his workers actions...they had been bad talking me. You that awkward feeling? Anyway, I professional and kindly ask to speak with both owners, Scott and Daniel, on the front porch (this was away from his workers) to discuss my frustrations. My husband and I had made a VERY VALID LIST OF COMPLIANTS to review with them. Such as: Tools left out, hazardous area, cleaning up after employees, time it took to clean to make the house livable, time out of the kitchen, the lack of time management (such as: "hey at 3pm when need to start cleaning so we can leave by 5, not 5:15 owners are here...so leave), the lack of leadership, the fact that they were not present for most of the job, grout being missed, drywall not patched, mud and damage to porches, the fact that I hired Installer Direct and them not the younger (20s) people that work for him or the non-speaking people and that I expected one of them to be here for the entire job or at the very least have good communication (such as "hey I can't be here tomorrow...but Joe will and I have reviewed everything with him". The tile work itself is decent! It is not the worst and definitely not the best. But anyway, as I am speaking with them privately about my frustrations and valid complaints they both cross their arms like children, barely making eye contact, and Daniel even rolls his eyes and tells me "he is frustrated with me", if "I expected them to be onsite for the job, I should have mentioned that in the beginning". Unbelievable! I honestly felt belittled. I informed them that all of my frustrations were easy fixings...management concerns, time management. It was like talking to mad teenagers. So I left for work. My husband returned home at lunch to check on the progress and to re-have the conversation of our dissatisfaction as customers and valid reasons why. According to him, they responded much better. They were apologetic even. Then my husband went to pay them (since we thought we would not be home before they were done). I had told my husband my invoiced quote for all the work was around $2300. They told my husband $3100. Say what?Honestly, I didn't plan on one but expected a discount after this whole nightmare. So my husband had to have a heated conversation with them and finally ended with I will pay you $2500 just to end it. So he goes back to work. At 5:15, I pull up to the house and they are still here/packing up. Neither manger spoke or looked in my direction. They had one of their younger employees speak to me. As I am rushing around with my demanding 17 month old son. I walked around and looked at things...there were several things incomplete and I assumed they would finish them. But NO, THEY JUST LEFT!! So after my son went to bed, this is a small list of things we had left to do: clean muddy floors, put all the fixtures back on our master ba so we can use it, shave down and hang 3 doors, move our furniture back to its place, put about 50% of our items back on the countertops in the kitchen, clean bathroom countertops (trash and everything), it took us 3 hours! That does not even begin for the outside. They hosed off our porches, but they are covered in mud and need mopped, one of our porches is going to have to be repainted! DO NO USE INSTALL DIRECT!! THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, LACK TIME MANGEMENT, AND TERRIBLE PEOPLE!

Exceeded our expectations!! They did a beautiful job, we are very pleased with the end result(s).

The estimate was very detailed and broken down by product, furniture relocation, carpet removal, glue-down floor installation and quarter-round installation for a 715 square foot area. We ended up relocating our furniture and removing the carpet ourselves. The provider brought a large-enough crew of installers to put down the floor in one day to make up for delays in our product's arrival. The floors look great and we are very happy with our choice of Installer Direct to purchase and install our new floors.

Of course we find most of the people we need to do home projects on Angie's List so after reviewing the companies that would come out to our area, I decided to call Scott at Installer Direct. It was also suggested by the store that we bought the flooring from, to call people on "their" list so I also called three other flooring installers. Most of them seemed in a hurry to get off of the phone and charged a few hundred dollars more to install the quarter round. Scott's price was actually the lowest price and he trusted our measurements over the phone to get the price estimate, which frankly saved both of us time. Also, installing the quarter round was included in the cost of installing the flooring. The fact that he was not in a hurry and answered all of my questions, and that the quarter round was included with installation, were the main reasons we went with Installer Direct. Price was a factor in our decision of course, and we feel that the cost was very appropriate for the size of the job. Scott was very flexible with available dates and fit us right in within less than two weeks. Plenty of time for us to pull up all of our existing carpet, padding and move three rooms of furniture. The day of installation, no kidding, the whole crew was here exactly at 9:00 AM, which was the time Scott gave me when we set up the date. I am used to waiting around when I set up appointments so this was great. We knew right away that the job was going to go well as it was very easy to see that the whole crew had a system for every part of the job, start to finish. We are a huge do-it-yourself family so it was very hard to just sit back and let them do their job. We hadn't thought to remove all of the doors, and they would have none of us helping! I felt very spoiled and out of my element not helping with any of the work! They worked non-stop, and asked any questions that they felt we needed to make a decision about and it was clear that customer satisfaction was number one with the whole crew. We had a few issues, totally on our end, and they gave fast, multiple solutions which made it very easy to make a decision. Everything turned out absolutely perfect and they finished in what I would call record time. The crew walked us through the rooms to make sure we were completely satisfied. They cleaned everything up so well that you would never know they were in the house. Everyone was very kind and professional. We still need to have one more bedroom taken care of and, without question, we will call Installer Direct. You will get a fair price, excellent customer service, and a beautiful job on the installation. Please give them a call, you will not be disappointed!

Scott and his crew are AMAZING!!!! I have actually used them for several different jobs (carpet, decorative tile, hardwood) in 2 separate homes. I honestly will never call some one else for my floor and tile needs. They are honest, trustworthy, and very professional!!!!

What a great find. Not only did ?Installer Direct? do a great job, but the entire crew worked so very hard. They are very knowledgeable and the work they did for us is just awesome. Scott was prompt, responsive and clear in his response. His quote was the lowest among the three we got. His team was right on time the day he promised to start the work and they finished the work in 3 days instead of the 4 days they estimated. His team was professional and polite and they worked fast. They moved our furniture and other stuff and were always ready to help. Everyday before leaving they cleaned everything up. It was a pleasure working with Installer Direct.

It went great !!! Scott the owner came and gave me an estimate. Price was very reasonable. After getting several estimates I decided to use his company. Scott came on the day of appointment and worked with the other gentlemen moving furniture, pulling up old carpet and pad and installing the new carpet and pad. We received a free upgrade on the initial carpet pad which was much appreciated. Also, we were given a large piece of our new carpet to make repairs if our furry baby dug a hole like she had done to our old carpet. They were all so polite and professional. Would highly recommend Installer Direct to all of my friends and family.

Installers Direct is a company that we will definitely use again. Scott brought samples for us to choose from 2 or 3 times and oversaw the shipping and delivery of the product to our home. The installers were prompt, courteous, neat and also did a first rate job in removing the carpet that was previously in place and installing the new floor and trim pieces. The second part of the job was to install wood flooring inside of a closet with wood that we had left over from another job. When it appeared we might be short a few pieces, the installers creatively used a combination of the two wood products to complete the job with an artistic flair. Later in the year we plan on doing more flooring in other parts of the house and these are the guys we will definitely call. Completely satisfied!

Scott was great to work with. He's just a really honest and professional person and works with you rather than just trying to sell to you like some of the larger companies that we had checked out. He came out initially with a ton of samples and really spent a lot of time working with my wife and I to help figure out what we wanted. He was very flexible also in both having a lot of products that he could get through his own suppliers but also willing to work with any products that we purchased elsewhere. My wife and I finally settled on just replacing the existing carpet with new and then replacing all of the downstairs linoleum with ceramic tile that we purchased ourselves. His crew did a great job on the carpet. For the transitions, Scott made some recommendations that, in the end, looked really good. The detail on the steps looked 100% better than the old carpeting that was there before. The ceramic tile work was great too. They tore out all of the old linoleum from the kitchen, utility, breakfast area, and a half-bath. He made sure to check all of the details ahead of time as to how we wanted the tile to run, the pattern, and so forth. In the bath, they removed then, afterwards, reset the toilet and pedestal sink. They also ran quarter-round along the base wherever the tile was run. I was very pleased with all of their work and would definitely use them again and recommend them. Great work and a really good person to work with.

This job involved major work, such as pulling out old hardwood floors and carpet, installing new laminate flooring throughout downstairs, and new carpet on stairs and throughout upstairs. It also included painting of walls and popcorn ceilings as well as trim and kitchen cabinets. It alsoThe included wall repairs in the living room, dining room, and laundry room, a baseboard repair in living room, installation of two new faucets, re-glazing of bathroom tile floors and grout, and painting of front and back doors. Scott and his team were on time and completed the job in the time-frame promised. They were pleasant and responsive to our questions. We are giving them a B rather than an A because they failed to do some work that had been agreed upon, particularly plumbing repairs under kitchen sink and in upstairs bathroom, and they did not clean up after themselves, leaving paint in the kitchen sink and paint residue on stairway hand rails. We had to call them back to have the bathroom re-glazing completed and to have the bathroom doors re-hung.The doors were stacked against newly painted wall in the master-bedroom, requiring touch-up paint later. We had to hire another workman to come in and make the kitchen and upstairs bath plumbing repairs, remove the garbage disposal and install a new one, and re-paint the front door (because the door had been closed before the paint had dried). With a bit more attention to detail and a final inspection process, including a follow-up conversation to be sure everything was completed to satisfaction, we believe Installer Direct could be a top-notch team. We would consider using Installer Direct in the future for carpet or flooring installation but probably not for other work.

Scott and his team were a pleasure to work with. They worked with us through every phase of the job from weighing our flooring options to setting up an install date to actually coming and completing the work as promised. I could not have asked for a better experience. The whole crew was polite, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. We have been doing a complete remodel on our 2000 sq ft house for the past several months and so many times I have been disappointed by contractors and crews that really dont care about thier customers. I can say from experience that Installer Direct will not let you down. It is rare to find people that are honest, hardworking, affordable and good at what they do and I will 100% recommend Scott and his team any time! My floors look amazing and I am already getting compliments on them!
